Ahh the classic saucer. The stuff of dreams and nightmares as a kid. But by itself the saucer is a bit boring... just 9 pieces ... maybe try to create some sort of scene around the saucer? That might make it slightly more interesting BTW if you need help embedding the pictures, check out the useful tutorial section, or feel free to PM me :) http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=18451 steps 6 and up.

Great shaping, and really digging that jagged colour blocking with the dark red slopes. The canopy/nose area has some nice twists and turns too. And the sloped wings give it a real aggressive bird of pray feel to it. - Very cool. My only suggestion is maybe try something new with the top... it looks so boxy! Maybe a slope here or there?

Looks to be a nice little fighter. Are the engines rotatable? they seem to be. Though it's a bit hard to see some of the details - it might help if you zoomed in a bit, or maybe even more pictures at different angles so we can see the 'true' shaping.

I never built that set - but the last one looks like a beefy upgrade! But it's not very blacktron-y Maybe a bit more trans yellow and regular yellow? I know the container is yellow but it seems like the truck needs a bit more - know what I'm saying?

Haha fantastic! Really clever use of colouring and super fun all around

Pearson Class Troopship Pearson Class Troop Ship - Ride that C-Beam baby. The Pearson class troopship is the backbone of the Colonial Marine fleet. Used primarily for troop movements and troop assaults, the Pearson Class Troopship is also capable of being retrofitted as a materials transport ship. Like all Colonial Fleet's Faster Than Light (FTL) ships, the Pearson Class Troopship is 'propelled' by a Concentrated Beam of Excited Anti Matter, or C-BEAM, of Higgs Boson particles. The Singularity Skip Drive (SSD) uses these particles to generate a singularity event to 'skip' along paired particles along the beam's trajectory. Much like climbing a ladder, this allows ships entering from one gate and 'skip' between rungs - light years apart - till eventually reaching the terminus gate. Once out of the C-BEAM, ships use conventional ion thrust to navigate to their destination. As a consequence most of the colonial fleets are within a few days travel of a Gate entry point to allow quick deployments to any of the Gates under Colonial control. Pearson Class Troop ship While limited in numbers and extremely costly - the C-BEAM gate system allows for faster than light travel securely from entry gate to terminus gate. Thus eliminating the traditional need of ship escorts along hostile sectors. Though this requires the gates to be heavily fortified - as the loss of a gate would cut off the sector for decades. It is rumoured that the Colonial Defense Force maintains a C-BEAM Alert Patrol with a battle fleet perpetually traveling along all paths in a relativistic stasis. The Pearson Class Troopship is capable of landing/deploying on O class or higher planets. The entire division can be loaded as: all Air deployment (space or terrestrial), all Land deployment (for high gravity worlds or urban engagements) or a split between Air/Land deployment. Pearson Class Troop ship The standard troop assortment consists of: 10 Marine Squads. 4 Marine Specialized units. 1 Engineering Unit 1 Flight Crew 1 Ground crew Standard Air craft assortment: Pearson Payload 2- Estoc- Heavy Dropship 4- Flax - Gunships 8 - Baselard - Fighter Interceptors 2 - Dirk - Scout ships Standard Land craft assortment: 2 - Aspis - Heavy Armoured tanks 4 - Scutum - APCs 8 - Parma HUMVEEs [Yay! my first Micro ship :D]

Hehe. You should have put a minifig ontop of the legs for the WIP shot. so it looks like they have giant Mech legs -- As for the light - the alternative if you don't have a lot of light is change the settings on your camera - instead of using 'automatic' mode - most cameras should have a night time mode or maybe even allow you to set the shutter speed. Set it on a tripod (or a stack of books) and take a really long picture - that'll compensate for lack of light.

HAHA that's awesome. Bold yet great choice with the friends border.

Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Si-MOCs replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
First off, I would like toe apologize. I know of the four GL's that I'm the worst at commenting on individual threads. Both from Kaliphlin and the others. I still look through most of everyone's post but I simply do not have time/most of the time it's on a little phone that makes replying and typing extremely difficult. Coupled with my busy work schedule and building obsession results in not as much time as I should be spending commenting on all your wonderful creations -which truly does make me proud. I'm not going to promise to suddenly spend the additional hours required to post in every single thread.... but I WILL promise to continue to respond and reply to EVERY SINGLE post in this thread. And I do click on every link added here. Just cause I don't reply there, and reply on in this thread - please don't take that the wrong way, or that I"m lazy... it's tough coming up with two non redundant comments :P (In fact I almost declined the Regulator role due to GoH ....) That being said, I think we have a fantastic guild - and I don't really think you even NEED me. It's always great when I have to disappear for a bit and come back and everything is running smoothly. :GUILD HUG: And as I've said in the past - if there is anything you guys want to see done, suggestions or ideas, I'm always one PM or post away. -- Dugal [/b} that bear is not tickling my poor Slave-Sister Kathyrin! They're locked in a life-and-death cuddle match! Mikel I can't wait to see your brick built monsters Kcaj I must visit this Skyrim world you speak of. But alas I hear it is a very very very very long and enjoyable voyage. The WIP is great. I think that's probably one of the best oasisy growth I've seen in awhile. I love how it looks so organic coming blooming in the desert. And the idea and is fantastic. The non grassy area in the corner looks great so far... the only thing I would suggest to bump up the difficulty and awesomeness is try to make it more slopped... like a giant bowl ... would be pretty cool Wahil Yes the prize for Challenge 3 was great... and if someone here wins... well I might sneak something else in the package... Saladus That sounds wonderful idea... And this challenge is just that ... suppose to be challenging... including the 'guardians'... Master Cartographer Gex Interesting idea for the photobook... though at this time with 6 story builds it may be a bit thin... Though I think we should still think about printing up some large maps. Maybe print some up for BW and get it signed by some guildies there Kcaj Some GREAT looking Sentries ... Very impressive us of dark perl gold. Abū Thanks... I wanted to tell a silly story - so it was a loop hole to do it while being 'serious' .... BTW the creation story was really well done. Great example of brilliant concept and small-well built mocs to go with it. No need to build a massive build Tashbaan Another great story... it's going to be hard for me to vote! ... The worm and the sand around it is super well done. I love those two 1x6 curved slopes and how you can JUUUUST see the grey under it... great touch. -

I should have enough for the first few challenges.... depending on how many we do I may take you up on it... (though unlikely) -
Ohhhh. Some nice combos there. The mech sounds good! Though you should try to use a bit more light in the pictures - they're a bit hard to see :(

Great job. Truly wonderful. I think you really capture the whole creation myth wonderfully in LEGO.

Tonight is going to be good - I have all these wonderful story to tell my little minifigs I will create a voting thread tonight. Though I know I said Kaliphlin votes only do we want to open it up to others like Mittgardia elections? -
Nice! great organization. haha I have the *EXACT* same drafting table... It was actually suppose to be my extra table for photography/large builds... but it's become my defacto building talbe because my kitchen table is over run Good idea about the cloth though... I don't know how many times things bounce and fall on the floor...

Don't forget, there's still prizes for Challenge 1 & 2 that are still in production... (next time we prefabricate before we start this thing...) Plus other wonderful things we plan to arbitrary give out based on undisclosed criteria! -
Agreed! That is fantastic colour blocking! I *LOVE* how the minifig matches too Great work! thanks for sharing!
-
haha fun. Wait is the Scientist upside down? or the assistant? While as a picture I like how things are blurred out in the back and the lighting effects. But from a build perspective it's a bit hard to see the build with your lighting/focus. so it's a bit hard to comment on the build itself... Cool picture though.
-
Nice, I never got 7714 - so it's nice to see it put to good use. Though why isn't Ha-Ya-To in his mech :(

Sorry to derail this again... but.... could you tell us a bit more of about what you did? That sounds utterly fascinating... While it's all fun to build all these way out there Sci-Fi creations - sometimes it's nice to see and hear about REAL space exploration. As it sadly seems to be falling out of the public's imagination ... so please share with us and spark that interest again This makes me want to scrap my current project and build something... REAL. -- On another unrelated note - the coolest connection to Space travel is I got to go see a Atlantis take off last year - best 2 minutes of my life
