Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Si-MOCs replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
Mikel Fun little story. Though I'm disappointed that you didn't do a brick built spider ;( Rasputin You don't need to have to do a Indiana Jones temple with a dragon.... it could be underwater, guarded by traps... I think there could be a lot of room to do something really creative.... Count Balthasar HEY! I'm not a Sandlover. I just like sitting in it with a few drinks. Mikel Oh another lovely micro... you should put up a guide on how to build such lovely creations :) Drow Master Builder Lovely ... creature? great shot. Ghi'natn is right! Kaliphlin is the most diverse of all the guilds out there! -- Challenge Reminder - Contest closes in a few days. While I can't win, I can play too! Children! I know last night I promised you a special story before bedtime. Tonight I'm going to tell you the story of Kathryn the Warrior Slave. Yes Stevphen, that Kathryn! You see, many years ago before you were all delivered by the fire-storks your uncle Dextrus was a enslaved by Titum the Tauren. Titum the Tauren had his own little slaving company: Titum's Little People and Gladiators Shoppe which specialized in ... well Little People and Gladiators. For you see, the little folk have great minds and could build the most incredible machinery. Plus they fit in really small places when they need cleaning. He also peddled in Gladiator slaves - renting them out for various arenas in the southern areas. One day there was one special Gladiator that came along - Kathryn! She beat every other Gladiator they threw at her! You should have seen her in the fighting pits, she was a tactical master of the fighting stage. As I watched her fight, I realized that if there was any hope that me and my little friends were ever to break free from the slavery of Titum that we needed to team up! Biding my time, I spent many nights construction a weapon of epic destructiveness.... Finally I had done it! I took the weapon and gave it to Kathryn, so that she may use it against the evil Titum. "Excellent!" she said. "The deed will be done tomorrow - be ready then!" I rushed back and squeezed through the bars of my cell and eagerly awaited till morning. I awoke with a start - Screaming and commotion all around. I looked and saw, Titum was down! Following the lead of my little friends, we bursted out and made our escape for freedom! So with the help of Kathryn, we escaped and started a new lives. I quickly rose through the ranks - and never forgetting my saviour I adopted Kathyrn as my sister - my slave sister for when we were slave siblings. Oh yeah, and she fought a bear too. -
Macoco! Are you bored with Sci-fi forum and myself already? Seriously congrats! I look forward to your blogging.

Let's see it with a minifig in it!
-
That's pretty cool. I'm surprised the shuttle kept together for that long. Though it didn't have that warm and fuzzy feeling I got when I watched those teenagers launch the minifig in space. Maybe the shuttle just needed a giant Canadian Flag on it

I love the concept of wind power. And I find it extremely refreshing you didn't go with the standard Gold and Brown colour scheme. Gives your build a really unique flavour to it. Though I feel the rider needs some sort of Dome to protect him...
-
That's why I said, *I* really can't complain. You my friend, be my guest and complain Though I suspect if LEGO didn't have the SW theme, it'd be pretty hard for LEGO to come up with fresh ideas Space for 10 straight years - so maybe it wasn't so bad to have overpriced SW *AND* a few themes in the last decade. And I sorta play with my MOCs too.... Just cause swooshing makes everything fall apart, doesn't mean I don't *WANT* to SWOOSH.
-
I remember seeing this in CCC. Concept was brilliant. and the MOC is worthy to your idea. Though I might have made that ship? floating so we could see it better :P Though I'm curious - did you actually build 3 churches? or just changed each one?
-
Yes, I agree - while the prices may be a bit high for SW sets - the pieces they come with have been the biggest boon to SciFi-Mocs we could have ever asked for... So I can't really complain about lack of Space sets. So we should count ourselves lucky that we get a space/scifi theme every few years

Thanks The spacer in me made me do it SNOT. This was at Fairview - we just swapped out on Saturday (I've been lazy and haven't posted pics till now). You ser, need to go to the LEGO store more often

[pid][/pid] 125D Edit: I rebuilt this for Brickworld, extended it and beefed it up some more... Hope you like it: I decided to take a different route and try to build something I've never done before - a Brick Built ship. Using the new lovely Bounty Destiny set - I decided to try my hand at a Junk ship! LUG Showcase by Ricecracker., on Flickr (The façades and lighthouse were built by Ricecracker ) And just the ship: Chinese Junk ship by Si-MOCs, on Flickr This version was cut short due to the need to fit inside the window - I plan on rebuilding it and making it longer ... Any suggestions from you fine Ship Builders? -- Some of you may have remembered my title from a few months back: junk in my trunk by Si-MOCs, on Flickr So I had to do fulfill the prophecy: Junk... In my trunk! by Si-MOCs, on Flickr

Awesome fighter - I love the colour blocking you used. and also bravo on using the Jedi pod ;) extra points!
-
Haha sorry - it's late, I miss read the post - I thought you said that it WAS a secret vs you said that was (in fact) the secret. HAHAH okay bed. (hope to see more Dinos soon )
-
ha! I love the elevating turret nicely done! .... awww come on share your secret ... how'd you get the cannons on the wings? we're all here to share !
-
Neat. What are you planning on putting the chain gun ON? (Also if you use grey technic pins - you might be able to see the barrels better - the black is a bit hard to see.

Most of the credit goes to Macoco! Just like Guilds of Historica, I don't do much, I just sit back and look pretty I think we have a few ideas floating around - but yes we can discuss that else where.... -- As for the banner - it is one of the nicer ones But maybe something new would be good. For starters, I would use the same/similar planet star log that is in the Regulator title. I would also rather see a more brick built banner - like Town or Action themes. Range of SCI-FI minifigs - not JUST space..., in the background we could have some micro space ships, maybe a steam punk, maybe a mecha? Sky the limit... -- Though Macoco please enlighten us on how to get some of those fancy new tags you have? The enquiring public would like to know!

Very cool as always ... As someone that has played and I had a Blacklight fad of their own, it's great to see others take on using blacklight and make things pop. Also the dragon is great -I struggled greatly building my own just recently - so well done sir! And it looks super stable too! Though I must ask ... If you're from Serbia ... why are you watching How I Met Your Mother on CityTV (a Canadian station) ?

Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion

Yes Trans Light-Blue is fine. And if people are REALLY in a pinch and don't want to buy a crystal (we tired to choose pretty common ones) you can use some stacked 1x1 rounds instead. -

Announcing: Challenge III - Treasure Hunt Dexterus: "Brave slave-sister Kathryin, what news do you bring such early in the morrow?" Kathryin: "Dearest slave-brother, I have returned. Three other great champions and I went and found the one we spoke of. He has told us that stories are true. And that the crystals are real. They are scattered, one in each of the four realms. Dextrus: "By Murlock's beard... then it is all real...." Dex loses himself in a moment, and spills his mead while he drifts off in thought. "Right. Kathryin. Okay. Go off, spread the word. I want every Kaliphlin to go forth and search the deserts, the mountains, the seas and everything in between for the Water Crystal! Gold and prizes to the Kaliphlin brave enough to find and fight whatever may lay before them." Description: Build an epic scene which depicts your adventurer entering and searching a mysterious location for the Elemental Crystals. The location may be any fantasy/castle site you wish, but it must feel ancient, remote, and ominous. (Ancient tombs, catacombs, jungle ruins, long-forgotten temples, sewers, caves, bandit hideouts and many others are all possibilities!) The crystal must be guarded by some sort of guardian or trap, and a heavy emphasis on thematic building is encouraged. (For example if you are building an ancient tomb, undead may guard the treasure, and if you are building a jungle locale, natives/wild animals may be the guardians)Guardians may be dispersed throughout the location, or only appear in the treasure chamber. Anything can be a guardian; from people, to magical beings to mechanized sentinels. Specifics: • No size limit: Build as big or small as you wish, points won’t be based on size, but on quality, detail and imagination. • Build must be an ancient site, may be set indoors, outdoors, in any climate and environment. • Build must include guardians. (see above) • Build should be accompanied by a short story about the adventurer's trials through the location. (Either comic-form or narrative paragraph) • Build must contain the correct crystal/gem piece for your Guild as a treasure: Avalonia - Green (Earth) Kaliphlin - Blue (Water) Mitgardia - Clear (Air) Nocturnus - Red (Fire) There are two months to build for this round, (Due date April 28th, 2012) and we are raising the bar of expectations yet again, so take your time and build quality MOC's! We will be looking for details, imagination, building techniques and good presentation. Let's find these crystals so that we may unlock the greatest treasure in all of Historica! -

Lord Shale - Thanks for sharing with us your story. I particularly like the gate and the poor Drow loser Rasputin Great story! I have always wondered the origins stories of those very monks! hehe I love the term 'classy-bling' Master Cartographer Gex great interior shots - I very much liked the tiled flooring that the embassy had. Dugal - a fine addition to the creatures of Kaliphlin! Drow Master Builder, I was hopping such distinguished foreigners such as your self take up this challenge... I wish thee luck. (and love that 'flower') I see you've discovered the magical loop hole in the Kings decree of no waring... Though Challenge 3 shall be released today - so might be best to see what that is first ... As for history - I think we can all agree to keep it wide open - the whole idea in GoH that anything is possible and you can build and tell whatever story you want. :) Kcaj AHHH! Those Jivana Cusana are scary! I remember my nana would tell stories about them as a kid *shivers* Dugal It is great to finally put a face to your name. Welcome brother, sit and chat. Kcaj Great build. I very nice interior. Though I'm surprised you put the monkey like that - traditional wisdom would have put him upside down Dama NOW you tell me I can shortten it Mikel Keep those stories rolling! All - I very much like the idea of a zoo build, the University would be a good one too... really whatever the guild thinks will be more fun to build.... let's come back to it in a month after Challenge 3 gets rolling! -
Looks like a fine place to drink! though at first I had thought the bed was for customers... as I do get sleepy after a few kegs...

You're fast becoming my fav customizer! Fantastic stuff! -
Thanks! I admit the cave was a fun/started getting to the point I was curious how BIG could I make it before the deadline:P It's actually Ricey's.... so +5,000,000 cool points for Ricecracker, and +6 cool points for me And what a bear! I was going to! He beat me to it... (who knew he left the Town forums?) Hey! the Bear's getting feed at least. He just needs to take one step forward...
-
Heh thanks! I actually have to thank Ricey for the eyes - I had 1x1 round plates in originally and he didn't like em... so he made me redo it :P Thanks! I've done rocks before, but never a spherical cave... I'm tempted to try to do an entire sphere.... but I litterally used up every single 1x2 and 1x3 inverted slope I have... ... *resists urge to go on brick link* Next up ... Dog mech for a Cat!

Koruse Dragon Sentinel - "Strength of Will" by Si-MOCs, on Flickr The Koruse species are small in physical size and strength. But they poses great intellectual and mechanical skills. To overcome their small stature, the Koruse commonly create elaborate skeletal exco frames to interact with the outside world. Powered by Energon fluid, these skeletal exco frames are custom made to suit each individual Koruse's personality and flare. The Energon is the choice fuel due to it's energy to volume ratio - while rare, it is found on several teraformable planets - most of which are colonized and heavily fortified by the Koruse. While the remainder of the known sentient beings simply regard the Energon as a powersupply, the Koruse treat the Energon with spiritual reverence. Each of the Energon deposits controlled by a Koruse are treated as holy sites and will always have a lone sentinel to guard and guide those who wish to bath in the Energon pools... Koruse Dragon Sentinel - "Strength of Will" by Si-MOCs, on Flickr DSC_5139 by Si-MOCs, on Flickr CC always welcome and appreciated - thanks for looking! [Entry for Lego Dragons Contest -I felt Sci-Fi was totally under represented. - Thanks to Ricecracker, DarkDragon and DarthNick for 11th hour (literally 11pm EST) feedback and listening to me whining...] ------------------------------------------------ Edit: I felt the Dragon was a little lonely ... and I needed a companion so without further ado: Broqek Battle Bear - vs Dragon by Si-MOCs, on Flickr The Broqek are a humanoid species that competes with the Koruse for the Energon supplies in the universe. Originating from the same sector of space as the Koruse, the Broqek have a very different mentality. While the Koruse are technological masters - preferring to build complex robotic shells for themselves, the Broqek instead forcefully adapt animals to do their bidding. The Broquek use variety of armoured bi and quadrupedal animals on terrestrial surfaces, and use large interstellar creatures to travel through space. The Broqek are an isolated species - rarely found outside areas of Energon deposits - so their technology level is not well known. In particular the means of Faster Than Light travel inside non FTL creatures is currently unknown. Due to the close proximity and need for Energon, Broquek commonly clash with the Koruse, as one has the mentality to strip Energon clean, while the other regard the Energon pools as sacred - and should only be used by the pure.
