I don't really know or particularly care what this is from - cause it's pretty freak'n cool! Cool build :)
-
Sorry about that. I get excited when I see the LEGO sign.
-
Ah yeah now I see it - really nice. The only thought is maybe add some red on top or a bleeding guy?
-
Nice build. These photos are much nicer than your other posts, good job! Ship is nice as well. has a very SW feel to it
-
WOW! Cool build. The walker is fantastic... I can't believe your figures fit in the walker. AND it's sturdy enough to hold up the weight... very cool. The eyes and mask are particularly well done!

Pretty cool! I doubt any Zombies would get in there! Any thoughts on actually building this?

Back from a great little convention - it was a small space but we made the most of it.... ToroLUG did a show @ Ad Astra by Si-MOCs, on Flickr I was a panellist! Welcome to EB! I hope you enjoy your stay!

That is a cool looking cruiser. It has some great lines to it simple but elegant. It feels like it could have some serious speed. The green guy - I'm kinda mixed on it... the first picture - that side looks interesting. The other side - not as much. I get you're trying to be asymmetrical but you're missing just a little something... maybe as simple as a sand green plate on that stud? The build itself is pretty good, but my main negative has to be the pictures - definitely room for some improvement. You have some neat builds but I think your pictures are holding you back a bit. It was great idea using the box, but your next step is to try to get brighter pictures. Your best bet if you don't have a lot of natural light is to use a tripod. Or if you don't have a tripod set the camera on a couple of books. Figure out how to set a long exposure (PM if you need some help) and take your time and take some nice shots. The other way is you can try changing it in post - you can turn up the brightness and contrast settings.

Silly Avalonian... there weren't Mechs back then Though this is pretty awesome and very fun! The angling of the spears gives it a really "don't mess with me" feel. My suggestion to take this to the next level would be to angle the axes forward facing - so you can run into things - blades out. as well as maybe put some armour (or have an amoured knight) ride it - the blacksmith seems a bit... vulnerable. One of the Mpya Stedor Archers would easily take him out

AHHH those holes still haunt me... That is probably the best use of the tan brick-bricks I've seen yet. Having them spaced out with plates really works for me The details in the car are also very nice - the robot arm for the window is really nicely done. My only complaint/question is - what's up with the red? is it suppose to be blood? It seems too purposeful to be just ran out of brick... but I don't get it?
-
I like Rabbits Though I'm surprised you didn't use a Kitten This looks like a very kid friendly mech - nicely done. For some reason I love the toes/feet - that's such a nice Y angle you made

I merged the "redo classic space" into the discussion for possible space themes...

Nicely done AC! The Hanger must be awesome to see at shows... Though I must admit I also liked Roman temple(?) Did you build that as well?

Needs a new calendar from Ricecracker because I plan elaborate LEGO roadtrips without consulting a Calendar first.

Architecture Contest: VAB (Vertical Assembly Building)
Si-MOCs replied to CamelBoy68's topic in Special LEGO Themes
OMG that is so awesome. This and the Boeing Plant are some of the coolest "factories" ever built... though this has way cooler factor. it 'assembles' SPACESHIPS. And you've done a brilliant job of creating this. The attention to detail in such a small space is super impressive! Hehe "meatball" I always found that name hilarious. No STS ? it would be funny (if you can make it to scale) next to the Apollo rocket! You should put this up on cuusoo - I would totally buy it! -
Woh! What a find. It's really cool to have just found it... it must have been weird seeing what you made as a kid. Even looking back at some of the ships I made when I was just coming out of the Dark Ages seems like a whole different person. Ironically I built a similar blacktron ship So what are you going to do with it now? are you going to keep them intact as a reminder of your childhood? or are you going to part them and make neo-versions of these old favourites?

Need idea or suggestion on Omega ship's rotating section
Si-MOCs replied to Lego Otaku's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I had actually thought of this problem in-depth as I have long wanted/planning on building a similar ship with a rotating section. The approach I would go for would be to essentially build 2 pillars where the bow and the stern sit, then have a motor drive a the rotating structure - using what Christoph suggested. Though if you're are SHIP building purist - where a SHIP has to be able to be picked up off the table... it would be slightly harder...haven't exactly figured out how to get that working :P -
That sounds awesome! we should totally bring our sigfigs :) I haven't figured out what I'm bringing... probably a my micro castle... which is about a 48x32... maybe a 64x64 if I get really creative...

/checks new calendar/ "The LEGO Store at Oak Ridge Mall is Coming Soon!" So probably not this weekend. If it was this weekend this thread would be bumping with activities as people play the "how early should I get there" game.

Well come on by and introduce yourself! .... wait Snakes and Lattes is going to be there? And there are GAMES? OH OH OH Bring Pandemic!

But what happens if they have some IN BACK!?!? They did have some great 4x10 black plate...

Ad Astra is a literary fan-run convention, focusing on Sci-Fi and Fantasy books, with a dash of Steampunk and a pinch of Starwars. ToroLUG is proud to have a small display showing some of our creations inspired by some classic Sci-Fi and some other fun builds. If you're in the area, feel free to swing by the hotel - our display will be set up in one of the rooms on the second floor (free vendor area) and have a look at some of our MOCs first hand and just hang out for a bit

Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Si-MOCs replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
AH! a New traveller! Kirk Valentine! Come come! sit at our grand table. Tis disappointing to hear about the sadness that comes from your former town. But you are welcome here, we have plenty of provisions and willingness to help repair your ships. And we have a few Magiks and tecknologers that would love to talk and learn from your fantastic creations! But so much business, first, we must attend to our new joiner ritual! And quite a nice micro to start it off. The trans clear is a nice touch - I have started seeing more people use it and I must say it's pretty spiffy looking ! Are the other instalments going to be connected to this one? Lord Shale another wonderous WIP. I must say, I think you have improved leaps and historica sized bounds since your last entry... it's really fantastic to see. And I'm very eager to see how it comes together! Really fantastic work! Tower Master Erudhalion Great as always. Today I shall gush about that incredible forced perspective you have through the windows. and the edging on the rug. Lovely techniques. Mikel Oh the 'Build Large' syndrome how I know that particular aliment well. Many a times I have said "Oh It won't take me long" or "oh it won't be that big" ... then empty sacks of bricks later I shake my head and wonder what demon possessed me to try such a stupid thing. You should be the official welcomer. That was fantastic.
