At first glance I did a bit of a groan - cause it was so absurd what you did. Then I started laughing at how absurd it is. The more I looked the louder I laughed... really great job. You really did take the Alien line to the next fun-level. and the tongue with the headsuckers - awesome. really great moc. I thoroughly enjoyed it ! COUGH - build finished. I'll show you Friday

I wish you spent a bit more time taking your photos ... cause those are some pretty awesome builds. So little pieces yet so interesting! Great use of the hinge bricks and the clip plates... very unique look/feel

Great review. You would have convinced me to get it if I didn't already have it It's refreshing to get a review from someone who isn't biased towards the theme already - and judge the worthiness of the set. The prison is a bit gimicky - but it's the play action that they built in. Only thing I would change would be the yellow fins under the engines - they broke off with some hard swooshing PS - PM me if you need help getting some Alien Conquest stuff.

Kaliphlin Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Si-MOCs replied to Si-MOCs's topic in Guilds of Historica
Master Cartographer Gex - that's an interesting frame you have built for the piscithopter! Something that could possibly be used as basis of tower structures... Lord Shale that's a great start - the brick tiles on the walls are really nice. As is the wooden bay window. Tower Master Erudhalion another astounding build. I keep running out of possible praises for work! haha. keep it up :) Re: Game of Thrones - It's fine to chat about it - but let's keep in mind that there are people that watch it in different timezones/not right away so please use spoilers. That being said - DaMaximus It is good to hear you are better (and building!) I can send my personal doctor if you so desire... Saladus I have had similar commitments that has unfortunately taken time away from Kaliphlin, though thankfully some of that is LEGO related But I have a couple things I wana build for Brickworld... Speaking of which - anyone coming to Brickworld? we could get some Kaliphiln action going and show off our awesomeness to the other guilds - in person. -
Great use of the Droid Bodies The builds are fantastic, as well as the presentation - simple but it makes it that much nicer Of the three, I love the moonbase the best. there's just something so perfect with the connections between droid bodies to technic to legs. It just makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

I'm Canadian Despite that, I still liked the moc. Very clever perspective work. Does the MOC come apart to easily take pictures? The monster is really well done, the eye and the claw is very convincing. Only thought to make it cooler would be to make it ripping through the wall instead of opening a door... though that would be way way harder to do. Also great colour scheme, the white /dark red gives it a sterile space station type feel. Works well! My least favorite part is probably the dead Canadian - not that it's Canadian - but it seems tacked on and doesn't really do with the main concept / idea... now if you had a alien thing wrapped around him ... makes more sense... it just seemed a tad forced... Though I still enjoyed the build over all

I wouldn't want to fight against them even with my most elite troops... And I like the mech - he looks quite steady and pose-able. My only suggestion is the upper arms - they a bit thin - maybe beef them up slightly? Oh and maybe the mech should have some backpack too? like the other troops - but with mech sized gear?

Some fine looking micro ships you got there! but you should take some shots from different angles! maybe a side profile of the modern one? It looks pretty swanky Though if I was a captain, I'd probably pick the red pocket rocket

I just saw this in person ..l. and pictures don't do it justice... it really is an awesome build. way to go Arch-Hero!
-
Really nicely done. I'm also impressed at how small the mosaic is - you were able to capture the illusion quite without having to making the whole build too large. Also hilarious

The slight offset angle of the temple is fantastic. Did you use a wedge plates? Beautiful build - but I we need bigger pictures! And more crabs

I've played the first two extensively, haven't had time on ME3 yet (LEGO gets in the way). So I can't comment on the third, but the first two is some of the finest game-story telling I've experienced. And with that I won't open this thread again till I play ME3 ;)

I thought someone said Saturday... This gives time to plan for road trip ;)

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Si-MOCs replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
That's fine, it was our fault for missing it Good question. I would think as long as the it's part of the lead up or story telling it should be okay. Like having your character talk about going off to the quest or something. Also it would be probably best if you didn't linger too long in castle discussing - this is suppose to be a BUILD challenge. But if you did it so that the crystal was hidden inside the castle - that would get you a DQ as well as a facepalm. -
EB Roadtrip from Toronto to Rochester tomorrow? Who's go their passport?

Crystal Quest Chapter 2: At the Blind Monk
Si-MOCs replied to Jason Cicchini's topic in Guilds of Historica
Nice little build. I'm loving everyone's little stories that they're coming out with. I like how you set up a static build that seems so dynamic from different vantage points. -
haha I laughed.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you guys liked my contribution. ... Yes... though to be fair, CorneliusMurdock asked me to build it a few days ago, so I planned it out in my head already. Most of the build time was wasted watching the movies... I took new pics of it! Room of Requirement - Roof of Hideout

Oh I wasn't blaming you... quite the contrary ... You remember, One man's horror story is another Aussies's fetish.

As someone who has both visited and built a 6 foot minifig scale Great Wall MOC - I think I feel somewhat qualified to pronounce that this is pure awesome. The build quality (not surprising) is top notch, the wall itself is clean and well done. But the modularity and the unique shape that really makes this a winner for me. Really well done!
-
Wowza! Impressive build - you've managed to build in a lot of the details that I would have thought would have been lost ... such as the white trims .... really nicely done!

Architecture Contest: Mathematics and Computer building at UW
Si-MOCs replied to Fianat's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great Fianat! I've been on campus before and recognized it- as mentioned the cheese wedge windows are really nice, as is how you did the railings on the stairs. I'm slightly sad you didn't add the tie though :tounge: *COUGH* QUEEN'S ENGINEERING IS BETTER *COUGH* -
-N13OS- ! Two fantastic posts in one day! Where to start? The actual builds are great. They're well construction and I would think fairly accurate to what it could possibly be like in real world. The use of the board game guys are also a great touch. Especially with the helmets hehe. I think I like the generator the most... just colour and interestingness hits home for me. Now the second thing the RULES. I love it! It like LEGO Moon Base Sim-City. You guys have obviously put a lot of time, thought, and effort into this - and it shows. Very enjoyable - thanks for sharing with us
