  1. Lovely tall watchtower with nice texture and decoration. The orange tones help place it in Mophet! Really nice. Mophet probably is moving up the HSS scale now.
  2. I really like the two tones of the path and horse track. The horse track looks much muddier and well trodden. The trees and base are really good too.
  3. That’s a really cool assortment of odds and ends to sell. I like for cart and sail idea too. The pathway is done especially well.
  4. Lovely warm colors. I’ll have to read that dinotopia book you mentioned before. These Lego builds are a great advert for it!
  5. I like that the stall is tucked away in its niche. The stall and the walls around it are very well done. Ha’ri the Potter... and I thought my jokes were bad...
  6. Theis certainly bustling with lots of details and clever techniques on display. I like the stack of dishes and other implements on display.
  7. This army is a real labor of love. I hope it gets played with and used in games and story telling.
  8. This is very nice. I get the riverbed feeling with orange earth banks. I’ve always felt pigs preferred wetter places than deserts but they work well here rooting along the banks. The olive green is well done too. Mophet is growing fast!
  9. Looks simple yet very elegant. I really need to try microscale at some point and builds like this are great for showing what can be done!
  10. Thanks! Hopefully see something. I have an image of someone making an MOC of their sigfig tearing up a letter... Cheers! I didn't want it to appear too cluttered, but at the same time to keep some details. I'm hoping for collaboration regarding where the story goes. Glad people liked the story and the character. I can't take credit for any of the furniture. I remade or modified pieces based on a bunch of tutorials you and your brother posted! I read up on all your furniture building techniques and saw what I could do with my bits. In my opinion everyone should Read These Tutorials!
  11. Another neat and orderly garden! The floor is really nice. Looks like polished stone. The background arch, windows and roof look really nice too. I've got to get more tiles so I can do better floors in my builds.
  12. @LittleJohn I like the use of the lance as a tent pole. I don’t like the way it is floating off the ground. The tree is fine and I interpreted the edge of the build tiles as the edge of the pavement like in Barqa or Mophet. It is a really petty thing but in my mind that is the only flaw and I can’t unsee it... I didn’t want to mention it straight away because it is so minor I didn’t want to draw attention to it. The fact no one else saw it as a problem shows how it really isn’t.
  13. The street, the doors and the feeling of warmth are what I like about this build. It fits with the Mophet Aesthetic really well.
  14. This is Kaliphlin. The merchant's stall is amazing with the rug and the different pots of spices. It is a really characterful and colorful build. Almost perfect with one minor imperfection. I won't point it out because it might just be my eyes playing tricks on me. Love the Minifigs too!
  15. The perspective through the pillars and the angles really make it seem that this garden is tucked away in some courtyard. The cobblestones and boxes are wonderful and the plants look as if they are bursting with life. Looking at this is like a lesson for me on how to use tan bricks properly. Also the link to the behind the scenes shots really helped me understand the overall shape and layout, with very good advice for my own future builds and photography.
  16. How mummiferous is the Desert King these days? On a scale of 1-10? I thought building the paper into the desk would differentiate a sheet from a stack of letters. Thanks, I look forward to finding out the fate of Mpya Stedor. It seemed like a more interesting and character building way than just asking in the guild discussion. I hope it causes some mini builds of letter opening and replies or reactions so we can understand different characters better. Thanks! My first go to color with Kaliphlin is tan but now that I am sorting through my bricks here and finding what else is available we should see some more variety! I thought a rack for special weighty tomes. Thanks! I had a lot of fun making a few pieces. I used some guides. I’ll link them if I find them again. I imagine the officials further down have messier offices! I’m glad the small details came out well. Glad people like the writing desk and stuff. Now I have sorted more tiles I will experiment with more interesting floors. It does look quite plain and strange with the long tiles. Glad you liked the writing, hopefully more to come. Thanks all! Let’s see whether people reply!
  17. The enclosed plot is excellent and the aqueduct shows the realities of farming in Kaliphlin. Our farmers must be skilled and not waste a drop of precious water! The house is simple but perfect as a farm and the details like the awning and scattered farming implements add a lived in touch. Really liking where you are taking Mophet.
  18. This is really well done and evocative of Mont St Michael in France. The way it looks built into the mountain is the most amazing part. All the little touches help bring it to life though. Lots of good micro build techniques on display.
  19. Just posted this. Writing for Peace Mainly to see if I can get people talking in Character. Its not like there aren't a ton of issues to be resolved in Kaliphlin! I'm hoping that we will see what kind of Leader @SkaForHire intends the Desert King to be. Then I'll probably find I've backed a monster... I had one more question about the state of things now. Some posts mentioned that the Desert King still rules from Sultan's Gate. But this story build A King Reborn is set in Kaligem, and it mentions his throne room is the old burial chamber. Sooooooo do we know where Kaligem is? Is this it? Is the Desert King keeping it a big secret? So Many Questions! Oh and I saw the freebuild and Challenge results. I'll try and be more active...for the Guild!
  20. Scarlet House of Khadira - Muakhah - Kaliphlin Writing for Peace - Muakhah - Kaliphlin Temple and Garden (Mazadar) - Muakhah - Kaliphlin
  21. In his office Muakhah prepares to write letters to the many important figures across Kaliphlin. Hoping to ease the tensions between the Desert King and the High Council. A warrior priest of Mazadar, clad in the gold and white robes that mark him out as a warrior of the light, peruses the tomes. “Take one of the books with you on your travels as you spread the word down the Oil Road to Petraea. If you can then continue to Barqa as an emissary of Mazadar. My letters should have preceded you.” “I will, Holy One.” Said the Priest, turning to the wall. “Now to the task of writing.” To my Liege, Ark’Mora Raa, The Desert King, Undying Pharoah and Blessed of Mazadar. Grant us thy wisdom in this troubled time and let us know your plans and instructions for the future. Your realm is not yet settled but much can be achieved through peaceful methods. The people are weary of war and would be swayed by your wisdom and generosity. I would council you to make overtures to Lords Dugal Maclean of Eastgate and Gideon of Barqa. These men are renowned for their virtue. Win them to your side with demonstrations of your noble desire for peace. Similarly Peregrinus to the East of Kaliphlin might be brought into the fold with words rather than swords. Once my liege has demonstrated his quality and strengthened the realm, the enemies of Ark’Mora Raa, peace and Mazadar will be much diminished and to walk in the Light will be that much easier. Your Humble servant Muakhah of Khadira To Erudhalion, Lord of Peregrinus Greetings to the master of the eastern seas. We hope that Berigora thrives in these troubled times. I write to you as a servant of Ark’Mora Raa, to convince you of his generosity and kindness. Now that the wars are all but over the Desert King seeks to rebuild Kaliphlin to her prior greatness. His offer of clemency remains. All shall be forgiven and forgotten that we may rebuild together. Help the Desert King to restore trade, peace and prosperity to the Eastern Seaboard and be known for your wisdom. Your Friend, Muakhah of Khadira To Gideon, Lord of Famed Barqa All of Historica knows of your wisdom and temperance. Your nobility and compassion. The endless struggle to do what is right in an unrelenting world. Whether you acknowledge it or not you walk in the Light of Mazadar when you do good upon this world. Barqa, under your stewardship has become a beacon of all that the Desert King requires. A place where all can live and work in peace and safety. This is what Mazadar desires for the world. Our path to paradise lies in building a paradise in this life. I entreat with you to open communications with the Desert King, that you may see and know and understand his vision. Great days lie ahead of us, should we make them happen. May you continue in the light. May you tip the scales. Most sincerely Muakhah of Khadira To Lord Dugal Maclean of Eastgate Noble Lord Maclean, your courage and deeds in these times are famed throughout the land. You inspire the people and have struggled for peace and justice. I entreat you to struggle no more against the Desert King, who understands your desire to do what is right. Mazadar calls upon us to choose right action, and I believe that in your heart you know that with your help the Desert King can set Kaliphlin upon the right course. The Desert King respects quality and wishes not to crush the High Council like a tyrant but to bring you to his councils and hear your wisdom. Let the conflict pass by so that we may focus upon healing the scars of years of war. Share your thoughts with the Desert King and come to an accord, that we may live our days in peace. Most Humbly Muakhah of Khadira The letters were sent out. But would any listen or take note to the entreaties of an isolated place like Khadira? OOC: So this is where Muakhah works for now. Making the furniture was most fun in this small build. One of the kids I teach brought in this Lego Golden Dragon Master and I immediately thought this would be perfect for the Warrior Priests of Mazadar. I know White and Gold are Varylian colors. But they are so holy! On the wall is the symbol of Mazadar. The White and Gold Dragon of Light. I will try and feature it more in another build or two. Its a very simple build but I wanted to make something to establish the Warrior Priests of Mazadar and to get some story going between people. @SkaForHire @Gideon @Gabe I would love it if you guys made some response letter opening/reply as a kind of back and forth between characters. I think we are all waiting to see what kind of leader the Desert King will be and how other leading figures will react to him. @Maxim I I didn't include a letter to Mypa Stedor as in a post I think you hinted it had been destroyed or there had been some mystery. Of course once the truth is known I can make another build and write another letter! Cheers!
  22. That is a wonderful overgrown garden. Such a variety of plants and growth but all coming together so well. The cottage itself is lovely, and the story emphasizes that this is indeed a time to rebuild the many things that were lost.
  23. Aha! My research indicates that the Desert King is in fact ahead of the times even now! In fact Barqa is one of the few beacons of the Desert King's values! In this link we can see the Desert King list his achievements. I have put in bold the one that is ahead of many places in Historica. Only in some cities of Kaliphlin can creatures of all species walk together in harmony. In Avalonia? Pfah! The Desert King said all were citizens, not subjects. Meanwhile the High Council is ok with enslaving non-Kaliphlin peoples and Ulandus is ok with enslaving Leanders specifically. Come @Gideon ...your heart knows it to be true... The Desert King is Chosen of Mazadar! I will admit that I am biased against the Roman stylings of Ulandus. Rome was a bloody and violent military parasite that preyed on the peoples around it. I find it really annoying that people forget that and focus on the "Glorious achievements". I would much rather have a greater ancient egyptian influence in Historica than Roman stuff. You can find Roman inspired stuff in so many places. A Romano-Samurai culture is a bit more interesting but its not like Samurai don't have tons of pop-culture too. The whole thing with his brother is a Thor's Hammer of worthiness moment. It was not Ark'Mora Raa drowning his brother but Kaliphlin, Historica or the Cosmos judging one worthy and one unworthy. Ark'Mora Raa should not have been able to wield the staff but could. His brother was the monster. Magical power from frinding love in Nocturnas? So evil. And since when are all creatures in Nocturnas automatically evil? He doesn't demand absolute allegiance any more than any other ruler out there. The sinking of Ulandus and the Western Marches are the most controversial actions. Comparable to the use of weapons of mass destruction or carpet bombing of cities in WW2?
  24. I really like the overhead shot which shows the water better. I am looking forward to the castle in progress shots of it too.
  25. I really like the color combinations of your force. It’s nice to see some avalonians who aren’t in green! Hope we can see more of them i the future.
