That is a truly amazing C model! I bet that looks like a normal MOC of his to people who don't know this is a C model. I almost want to get this set now!

Hey everyone, It's not an Osprey, but it's a tiltrotor aircraft! My latest MOC and user of all my white pieces. It has 7 functions, all manual: Tilt rotors Spin propellers Landing gear Elevator Flaps, Ailerons (combined as one to make Flaperons as in the real aircraft) Rotor pitch(for helicopter mode) The build was a lot of fun. I got to experiment with lots of different techniques and in the end I built the plane in a way I didn't expect: I built the wings and then worked down and out from there. I must have ripped the plane apart at least 10 times to make modifications. In the end though, ti all worked out. Here's the video: That's it, thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed the MOC! As always, comments and criticism are more than appreciated. BbBT

The saw has a function: it flops around, and when the grabber is tilted with a "tree", the blade drops and chops the tree. See here at around 11:40.

Oh my god, thank you! That is something I can work with. I can't guarantee motorization of this due to the steering system taking up so much room, but I'll try! As well... ...thank you so much! I'm glad you are interested and believe in the project. Thanks! That's the part I'm anxious about The current plan is... red. I don't have blue and I recently used up my white & orange (you'll see where tomorrow, in fact).

Thanks so much! I'm not sure about the 2-stage functionality... I don't have any of those red 8t gears from 42009 or 16L axles... have you seen any other solutions? Thanks! Your crane looks pretty good, I'd say. There will be 6 power functions (that's the goal, at least). Thanks! You're right, though for now I will hold off on changing it just in case that whole region changes. Everything is conceptual right now.

Hey everyone, After reading some of the comments in the 42082 topic, and now that I was not sure what to build (and don't like the 42082 very much), I decided to attempt my own rough terrain crane to see if I could bring in more functionality at around 1/2 the pieces. The model will still be quite big, though the amount of function I can get working needs to be maximized in order to call this project a success. Here's what I want to include: Steering with 3 modes Pendular axles Drivetrain with piston engine Outriggers (extending with PF, lowering manual) Superstructure rotation 2 winches (1 primary, 1 secondary, you know the drill) Boom lifting 2 stage extending (I hope) Of course, a concept is nothing without progress. So here's some, an outrigger box, an axle, and a chassis sketch with the 3 steering modes. Any and all comments are appreciated. Thank you for reading! BbBT

I agree to a certain extent. With 4000 pieces, more features could have been added. On the other hand, size sells.

There's so much reduction that it is virtually self.-locking.

The panels that hold the arm together were not added to the arm yet. I guess they play a bigger role than expected.

This is an excellent car! I really like the drivetrain setup, and your english is easily understandable.

Fix works. I don't think the set looks all that bad.

The BWE had more. So that is basically a plus for this set.

Agreed, same with 42009, the closest comparable set. It's 2600 pieces, with 2 stage outriggers, 2 stage boom, and all the mechanism in general needed to be fit in a much smaller space than in this set.

Well, they lift the crane just slightly with the 6x6s, so I think they are a) lacking a single stud or b) can reach the ground without lifting or bearing any weight.
