Hi Big Cam, nope thats not what I ment. The Lego stores are only located in the US, UK, and GE. I've been searching with google maps and some finnish words for toy(s) and Lego. Only thing which came up was a ToysRus near the airport. And for Tallinn I couldn't find anything usefull. In the Netherlands the best Lego stores often aren't the large retailers. And they often aren't to be found on the internet. So, I was hoping for some local knowledge. My girlfriend has been living here for over a month and has not found a toy store yet. Kind regards, Teddy

Hi All, I'm visiting my girlfriend this week. She is in Helsinki for a few months for an internship. We will go to Tallinn, Estland, for a day. I was wondering if any EB member knows a descent Lego store in either Helsinki, or Tallinn. Kind regards, Teddy

Thank you Lego! This was what I was hoping for from a return of the pirates theme. I actually believe it can be a good seller in regular shops as well. Although I'm still unhappy about pirates going on a break, this news made me extremely happy. Now to convince my girlfriend we need a couple of those in our house.

What amazes me the most, is that he had been scanning that particular field for years. (at least that is what my news paper said) So he must have known there was something to find. And if so, how did he know? Are there some documents regarding that field?

I am Teddy and I'm a multi-thousand-dollars-a-year-Lego-costumor. As costumor I am King, and I will kindly ask for what I want. Since, I splash the cash to back it up. It is up to Lego to decide if they want my business. And it is up to me to decide where I spend my honoust and hard earned cash. I vote with my Euros/ Dollars. ---------------------------Off topic --------------------------------------- Those guys at Lego are selfish, only thinking about making profits to add to their bonusses. Little less profit for them and a lot happier costumor is what I prefer. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've splashed the cash on the current pirate line. Hoping the theme would last for a while. I have waited a #%$#%#! 13 years for the comeback of the pirates line. It felt like, and actually was, a dream come true. Now its beig killed again. Just like 13 years ago. But now after just one wave of sets. And again I feel uttely gutted. There never even was a soldiers ship this time round. It al feels like a really horribly bad hangover. Rumours of the pirate line giving way to a POTC licensed theme are rampend on the internet now. I'm so utterly frustrated and feeling powerless about all this. I'm so depressed I even had dreams about burning POTC sets. All I can think of is a boycot of any replacement line. Voting with my Euros/Dollars so to speak. But I'm not sure if this could dent Lego's profits on that line or influence the decision making proces in terminating the current line. Well I'm just depressed right now. Any thoughts on how to influence Lego except for the petition that Zorro started? Kind regards, Teddy

I've been ill all week. Now I'm depressed as well. Signed

Dear SlyOwl, I need to check my catalogs, but I'm quite sure Castle and Space have been on a break in recent years as well. Or are Castle and Space defined relatively broadly in the context here? On another note: I spend a lot of cash on Castle and Pirates this year. So to be positive: it could be a releave for my Lego budget. I guess I will do more BL and ebay bulk orders again next year. I have serious doubts about the other licensed themes since some licensed themes tend to be limited in bricks per set and have limited staying power. Therefore, usually, I prefer regular Lego theme sets to build my collection on. But I have some hopes for the prince of persia sets. If they are as good as Indy I'll get those for parts. As for a POTC license. Well I'll probably will consider those expensive parts packs. I'm just not the ghost pirates kind of guy. Kind regards, Teddy

With the termination of the castle and pirates theme I think I can slash my Lego budget for the first time in years. POTC does not interest me at all. If this is were Lego is heading I will be very dissapointed in my Lego hobby.

Green coats? Mr. T? You crazy fool.

Hi k100m, that's a beautyfull fire engine you've build there. That will look absolutely stunning with the new 10197 fire station set. So many details you've put on it, I just love it. Welcome to Eurobricks! Kind regards, Teddy

Hi ISC, that is one beautyfull train station. your brick skills are just getting better and better. Just saw you were blogged on brothers-brick as well. So congrats with that. I'm not sure what to say about the creation except that it is beautyfully compact. Ine of my only nitpicks could be the pitch of the tracks, bu that is something I vary with as well. You could consider some more color variation for the stones inbetween the rail ties and the rail ties themselves. Apart from that it is just great as it is. Kind regards, Teddy

Hi Joey Lock, I'm still collecting bricks for the next phase. Captain Green (Blue) Hair visited last weekend. The plan was to build a bit on the HMS Victory MOC. But, we started with a beer and ended drinking beer in the pub. Kind regards, Teddy

Hi Admiral M. By snotting just 1 stud wide the grating is just 2.5 plates high. So a normal grid with studs on top is equal in hight (actually higher counting the lego logo on top of the studs). So SNOTting can be done in a fairly thin manner. Kind regards, Teddy
-
Hi Capt.Harlowe, glad you like my Gun. The grate is actually SNOT. The decking consist of tiles. The grate is build by 1x1 bricks 1x1 tiles and 1x? plates and tiles for the edge. The size is such that it fits in the spacing left inbetween the tiling. It can be lifted off. Here is a link to a higher resolution photo. Link to a higher res photo Hope this clarifies it a bit. Kind regards, Teddy
-
For the grates I'm using a brickbuild version in my HMS Victory MOC, which is an idea i got from a discussion with CGH (CBH) Here is a picture with a single grate in the orlop (center right in the photo): For the large pounder canons I've designed these brickbuild MOC guns: Hope this helps you a bit in your build. Kind regards, Teddy

Hi Benny, I've emailed you two high res pictures (+/- 2000x1500). There are 1024x700+ photos on my flickr account as well. Kind regards, Teddy

Now taking YOUR ideas for the future of LEGO Pirates theme
Teddy replied to Bonaparte's topic in LEGO Pirates
My two cents would be: 1-an imperial exclusive two decker ship on s@h. 2-less cartoony sails 3-a larger imperial base/fortress (preferably star shaped ) -
What a great initiative TheBrickster. Train month... Too bad I already showed my train station before the contest started. I'm afraid I cannot enter the competition yet, since i'm still building up my train collection. Good luck to all the participants. I will be watching as a big fan of Lego and everything related to Lego trains.

yes I love brickset too. It is susch a great medium. I've used it the last two years to keep track of the sets I own. If anybody is interested here is the link to my profile: Profile on brickset

I think the design is very good. Especially with the more or less open back. You might consider adding a portcullis behind the main door. The gate house really gives the impression of a city gate. If you want to remain within (the subjective) boundaries that still keep it viable as a "set-lego-might-release", I would keep the size as it is. Otherwise it might become too big. Currently it reminds me a lot of gate houses on castle in the mid 1980s. Overall a very good job indeed. Now lets cross our fingers and hope Lego will start releasing modular castle sets such as these.

Very good design. Very Lego-esque. I can see Lego making a mid-wall-tower like this, since it is about the same size as "tower raid 7037", but without the siege engine. I'm wondering what you will design for the corners. Kind regards, Teddy
-
I really love the color scheme. verry refreshing. The design is brilliant.
