Hi Captain Zuloo, the ship turned out beautyfully. Verry well done. Nice cartoony presentation. Kind regards, Teddy

That is a beauty. Good call on the figure head. I like that part a lot.

I really like the style of the MOC, this is top notch. The style is a lot like Kris Kelvin his MOC. Are you two planning a layout or something? Is there an interior? Do you have some back shots? Kind regards, Teddy

This is fantastic! I like everything about it. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.

Judging the amount of tan and white I would suggest some sort of stately building. For example an old Manor, Concert Hall, a Library, a Railway Station, a Summer Palace, or even maybe a Brau Haus or something. Kind regards, Teddy

Hi escortmad79, thanks for the compliment. It is always great to inspire building in other people. If you are planning a Cinema be sure to check out these two fantastic Cinema buildings: By marcosbessa: Linky to topic on EB By Hinckley: Linky to topic on EB Kind regards, Teddy

haha, yes... That spoiled rotten nephew of ours. I did the same on my USA visit. Last time I bought a bigger suitecase for the trip home. The money I saved on the Lego almost entirely paid for my flight. Eacht year I allocate a Lego budget, so I decided to spend most of it in the USA while I was there. Sure got some strange faces in the Lego store. But for me the USA was discount paradise.

Hi woody64, those molds look really cool. Is it easy to paint them in the correct colors? Kind regards, Teddy

I'm not blaming him for smuggling in the blue. I still have Market Street build up, as kind of a tribute to Erik. Since his website inspired me a lot and actually was one of the triggers to get building again.

I agree about the color scheme, that was a mistake. It would have been better done in all black or dark/sand red. Like all regular canal houses in Amsterdam. I still like the way it was done though. The only blue buildings in a closely resembling style I have seen are these in Rotterdam: And that was done before they were demolished.

I really like the street busy view. That is done really great. Too bad you're not teaming up with DNL yet, your MOC styles are really complementary in my opinion. Hope to see some more castle creations. Kind regards, Teddy

Amen to that. Though, somehow I think they won't make them in old brown... Thanks for telling them though. Could you ask for a track powered train systems as well?

Congratulations to all three of you!

AFOL and their approach to the hobby by theme
Teddy replied to Legoist's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Dear Ralph_S, if you would make an instruction of your MOCs a ten year old would be able to build them as well. I like collecting and MOCing and I find certain sets aesthetically pleasing. I like building a MOC and putting a set together. I see no harm in putting them in a layout as they are recognizable to people, just as a famous building is. just as long as they are in a comparable scale. For me your argument can be extended a bit like this: "When you're building a representation of an object, that is not admirable, since you are creating a mere copy." Be it from instructions, photos, or having the object itself. You are not the original inventor/ architect, but merely a copy cat building a scale model. But, that could be said of all MOCs of existing cars, plains, buildings, etc. as well. So, I see no harm in using sets in layouts since I enjoy rebuilding real life object, sets and stuff that is popping up in my head. Plus, it takes a lot of time, space, devotion, money and patience to build up and maintain a descent size collection. Kind regards, Teddy -
Yes, you are right about the colors being different. But tan is even further away from the original color, which is more to the orange-yellow side of the spectrum. Personally, I quite like Lego yellow for the details as it is a vibrant color. Which I find pleasing in real life. In photos it's always difficult to judge. I expect it to look better with the yards and the rigging on there as well, as it will camouflage the yellow parts to some extend. Kind regards, Teddy

You are getting better and better with all the tiny details. I absolutely love all the nice touches you put in there. I'm really impressed by the interior of you comic store. That is soo cool. Thumbs up from me. Kind regards, Teddy

I got a European (the Netherlands) one and those dresses were both in the box.

Yep, I agree. And you still need to make all the yards. Those will change the appereance as well. And personally, as a Victory fan , I like the yellow color scheme. Here is a link to a photo of a HMS Victory model using a similar yellow color for mast elements: Linky to photo Kind regards, Teddy

Yes, it was an awesome gift. My girl is pretty cool about my Lego obsession hobby. Yes I agree. Thanks! Yes it was quite some fun putting them next to each other. Thanks, I've been testing some software for photo editting. I edited a background I found on the inernet for use in this photo. Yep the ship is really tall, according to the boxart 24 inch/ 60cm. So you need quite a large shelve for displaying.

This is looking great! And I really like the new name, it has a real nice ring to it. Looking forward to your next update.

Dear all, I took some shots of my offical ship set collection for comparing shots of the IFS. To put the newest addition to Lego's ship line into perspective. I got the ISF from my girlfriend for my upcomming birthday. But, I already got it from her today! She is a sweetheart. Kind regards, Teddy Editted photo: Uneditted photos:

That is looking really cool so far! I like your own MOCs best. I would almost like to encourage you to break down your MODs and design a MOC yourself. I will be checking your progress. Kind regards, Teddy

What?... This just shows taxes are way too low for the rich and famous. The rich and famous should spend some money on taxes so the state can make education free for those and other boys and girls, and have a functional child care system for children in their predicament. This is just an awful situation for those boys. This is just not sustainable and they will fall in a black hole again after their fifteen minutes of fame.
