LOL! Great water effects, and fantastic hover vehicle! You have never felt the red hot flames of Dr. Long? I suggest you run, my friend! I have a lot of paperwork still due to all the HR complaints she's filed. And it seems she has a new giant panda assistant, also no doubt ready to lay the adminstrative hurt on you. Run, and don't look back!

In a way, I was in a similar situation to you before Andromeda's Gates. While I came out of my Dark Ages a long time ago...my building habits were sporatic, my MOCs were terrible, and I ended up simply collecting LEGOs for a long time. I posted a few of my MOCs online, but grew insecure about my ability to build with LEGOs because they didn't get a lot of views or feedback. So I became stuck. Then came AG. My MOCs are still terrible, but because of AG, I build every week now and am getting better with each successive build. I get critical feedback from the players and I incorporate their advice into the build being critiqued and I store that information for future MOCs. Some of the very best builders from around the world play this game, and I'm always happy when someone suggests changes in my MOCs, even if it's too late to make a change in the MOC for the game week, I can always use that information for later. My advice: just build. There's no other way to get better. Vedauwoo gave you some awesome advice already. Hit up a local LEGO store, if you have one, and visit their Pick a Brick wall. If you hurry, you can still get the existing elements (especially lots and lots of delicious green) before they swap them out for the new elements coming October 1st. Also, Vedauwoo suggested you visit www.bricklink.com. This is a great way to save money if you need a lot of a few elements. Just search for individual bricks and order a lot of them. I just placed an order for a lot of sausages, for instance. Finally, if you are looking for generic sets with a lot of basic elements as a foundation for your collection, take a look at the Classic sets: http://www.lego.com/en-us/classic. These are a throw back to the traditional LEGO sets of old that were designed for free building. Plus they come with a great price per brick ratio. You say you have a lot of Star Wars sets. Um...take them apart and build! You will be surprised at how many awesome bricks you already have, especially for science fiction type MOCs. You will discover that a lot of the more specialized elements will be just as necessary as the basic bricks for your MOCs, and I bet you already have a lot of them. Everyone here is supportive, and everyone here appreciates a good MOC, even if it is for a rival corporation.

The designers of the game did a great job of letting everyone stay in their comfort zones for building while occasionally throwing a challenge at the players. If you happen to be a terrain builder, build alien landscapes! If you like building castles or town houses, you can build corporate buildings (exterior and/or interior). And, of course, you can build spaceships and vehicles, since this is a sci-fi game. Once in a while, there will be a challenge where you must build something specific, but those aren't part of the weekly game. If you don't happen to have the colors of your corporation, you can always just build the terrain of the planet your sig fig(s) are on. Or discover the remains of a space wrecked alien ship that is mostly blue and yellow. Or even spy on enemy corporations and build vehicles and facilities in their colors. Just because you don't have a lot of black doesn't mean you cannot join M.A.N.T.I.S. or vice versa for white and Octan (or red for Kawashita). Do whatever inspires you. That's the point of LEGO, right?

All my monies to Bob!

That totally depends on whether or not these fast food animal trees have a dive through or not. The ones with a dive through survive underwater, because they cater to their customers needs for speed and convenience. The ones without a dive through tend to lose customers and go out of business and don't survive underwater. Stop. Just stop. Don't listen to him.

Arr...that's because ye be lackin' vision, Eshey, unlike me hearty matey, Normal Guy! Why is Ethel the figurehead! She be wardin' off evil spirits, lass. Don't ye know anythin'? What? And why are we even wearing these pirate hats? Where did we even find them anyway? We didn't even pay for the personal equipment so we don't get the benefits! They be found on the ship. That's why we be wearin' 'em. We built this ship! There should be nothing to find! Speaking of which...why did we even build this ship? We be searchin' for the island of mushrooms! There are so many things wrong with this picture. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Meanwhile, on the conflict planet of Guinevere, M.A.N.T.I.S. agents are preparing to leave the planet. Alright team, the Astroglide is here. Let's board and move onto our next assignment. Mosquito ate a box and died, hee hee hee hee heeee heeeeeee!~ That wasn't funny the first time, and the thousand times since! Mephistobutt wants a hammer to the crotch! Hee hee hee! That's Mephistopheles! Stop hurting yourself. Ow! Stop hurting yourself. Ow! Holy mother of avocados...children, get on board now! Sir, I'm closing the rear ramp door. We'll be lifting off in ten seconds. I'm punching in the current coordinates of the Axle, based on our intelligence. Good, let's get out of here. Mistress, how are we supposed to infiltrate Octan space and board the Axle to find your brother? First off, Cassandra, the Astroglide is black like a ninja, so no one should be able to see it. Second, it is designed to slide easily through any holes in the enemy fleet's formation. Thank you for the explanation, mistress. Approaching the Octan fleet, sir. An Octan transport is approaching. Now for the real test. We'll see how easily she glides through. They don't seem to have noticed us, sir. Excellent. Now locate the Axle and prepare to insert ourselves. Yes, sir. Based on the photos my brother uploaded, I've prepared clothes that will disguise us as Octan employees, so we shouldn't draw attention to ourselves. Oh, we are dressing up, sir? Yes, Scooter. Scooter, what happened to the clothes I gave you? I thought you said we were getting dressed up? You mean this isn't an anime convention, sir? Next: More pics under the spoiler tag.

Great tracked vehicle and sand terrain! And there's no such thing as too much firepower and there's no kill like overkill! One day, Dr. Long will notice all his hard work. One day....

There...I've finished re-linking all the older posts so the images should be fine now. I've taken the liberty of including updated pics of the Kawashita mobile armor and Ava Gato's personal starfighter in their respective posts.

That's fine by me! I have no idea what a metal eater would look like. Maybe something with a lot of teeth. And a butt hole.
-
I would like to purchase Metal Eater for 350 credits. Then I would like to give Bob all the rest of my monies!

I think the biggest challenge in LEGO building is building small, and your microbuilds are incredible! I love how you completely capture shmail's starfighter design in this scale. Also, I can't wait to see how the story plays out!

What's up with you M.A.N.T.I.S. builders and your awesome vehicles? Incredible shape and technique on the vehicle. Also, great flame effects!

The vehicle is awesome and the terrain work is fantastic. The way you've arranged the snow makes it feel so real.

Yeah...I'm slowly going back and re-editing the links so that people can go back and look at Pombe's earlier adventures.. Now I know to not mess with the privacy settings of the photos once posted. Please bear with me...this may take a while.

My words will fail any attempt I try in conveying how absolutely beautiful and gorgeous your depiction of the fauna on this planet is. That plants are just so vibrant and wonderful! Add to that the composition in color and photography and your entire presentation is breathtaking. Wow, just wow. Oh, by the way, the tree house and vehicles are nice, too. Sorry...when you have great next to awesome, the great just sort of becomes ordinary. Because well...the plants are AWESOME!!! I love the mini-Octan symbol. I think I will steal that idea.

Great vehicle, great landscape, great presentation and photography and perspective, and great narrative. AND ABSOLUTELY AWESOME ALIENS.
-
Great vehicle. I love the shape and how intimidating it looks. Definitely love the SAM or artillery concept here. Also, what wonderful terrain! The landscape is beautiful and serene, which contrasts so well with the vehicle. Definitely a sort of thematic dissonance here, but in a good way. Also great photography and presentation!
-
Holy crap. There's so much going on here. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out.
-
Awesome vehicle; it's greeble-tastic! Great shape and details! Also nice tie-in with Big Sal's build for this week.
-
Nice to know that he is recovering well. Poor Wick, always putting his life on the line in service of Octan. Fantastic scenes and great photography, as usual!
-
Poor Raven. Great build with a lot of fantastic techniques! I especially love how you used the flippers on the swimming diver to better emulate how they would really look.
-
This might be the sort of pressure Koro can't handle! This is a different type of life threatening situation! How will he get out of this one?!?!
-
Great concept and execution! I wonder if Jedadiah will encounter whatever it is that made that footprint.

How will the laser bean work without the beans?!?! Schmidt deserves to walk home after destroying the source! Great build and presentation, as always. I love Big Sal and his adventures. And great job on the pineapple target!
