  1. In-character, Haldor would not want to charge a friend much more than the selling price of an item simply because they have the potential to be rich. Out of character, it's not a nice thing to do, offer different prices for the class that is buying from you.
  2. That's a good decision, I thoroughly support it. Hopefully this will encourage QMs to drop gold for non-rogue classes as well.
  3. "55 and you've got yourself something shiny." Haldor offers out his hand for Alexandre to shake
  4. "To my knowledge they normally go for 50, so 67 would be more than enough to count for rarity. How about it?"
  5. I think it'd be a stretch to limit the number of people in a quest simply to avoid gold-making. I doubt many QMs would go that far.
  6. Although this is an interesting idea, I feel that it would overcomplicate the beautifully simple system that this game operates.
  7. How many of the stars are remaining, presuming that this quest will finish off the previous one's start?
  8. Haldor was surprised at the knight's great interest "This old thing? Yeah, it's an emerald, got it a while back after we took out Wren. Sure, I have no use for it. What's your price, lad?"
  9. Ha ha! Guess this is a life-lesson for me then. I probably wouldn't have enjoyed such a long period away anyhow.
  10. Speaking of which, who thinks that Haldor should sign up to to to the pagoda or not? I'm not really sure.
  11. No, I was not referring to you. I've also re-read that earlier post and would like to apologise if I have offended anyone with the way I wrote it. The point still stands, however. Claiming that offering consumables for party members is such a priority that the nerf must be avoided is incorrect.
  12. Zero Dark Thirty - Brilliant film, I never realised all of the precise details that went into that one operation. Very informative and gripping at the same time.
  13. I have no problem with rogue classes thinking for themselves, that's inevitable as with everyone. I also have nothing personal against those who choose not to share their items, me being one of them (although it is something I think we ought to see more of); but I will have to make clear that I find the response 'this nerf would make our generosity impossible' rather lame. Clerics offer their healing for free, do they not, despite the cost of ether? In that case, why would the loss of some rogue income prevent the giving out of items to improve a team? I know you're in support of a change, Flipz - my comments are not directed specifically at you. On another point: I have read here that one of the reasons that rogues need so much money is that they must purchase enough stimulants for their next quest. If one finds oneself in a situation where one is having to pay upwards of 400 gold every quest for consumables, and this becomes an issue - perhaps the nostrum-buffing strategy is not as infallible as perceived.
  14. I'm just going to sit back and watch how this turns out. The one point I will make, however is that certain people are not telling the truth about rogue generousness. Someone, not naming names, claimed that rogues need their wealth in order to buy consumables for the party. I have never once been offered a buffing consumable by a rogue class, especially not by the one making the claim, and and that says everything you need to know.
  15. Haldor is once again in the hall, enjoying a drink. With very little to do these past days, the nord produces a shiny emerald from his pocket and begins playing with it.
  16. This is very true. I know we've been bombarded with 'hey, I need two thousand gold each quest just to settle my debts', but I still can't see it. If you don't have the money and are so badly in debt that you have to have that money just to even yourself out - you're doing something wrong. That is not true at all. Uhm... okay?
  17. I don't know why Oky didn't choose Wolverine or Batman to represent America in that picture, oh wait...
  18. I'm going to say the obvious thing here: it's impossible to label intelligence, education or whatever to a single hobby or interest. If you want to carry out a survey and measure this yourself - then by all means, go ahead. I almost guarantee that you won't find any strong correlation between collecting LEGO and being well-educated. Is this not pretty much the same as suggesting that men who play video games are lazy, uninspired failures?
  19. Haldor laughed cheerfully. "Ha ha! Heartthrob that's great, and 'hunkadory' - you said it, not me. Since you made my day, Fabian, I'll take the 25 gold and be gone with it. See you around, brother." The nord walks away from the stall, grinning and muttering words as he heads off deeper through Eubric's main streets.
  20. Only if Britain gets a separate banner for St George's, St Patrick's and St Andrew's days.
  21. I will offer but a few words of advice: don't name your child anything that you wouldn't want to be named yourself at every stage of your life. Think first, a name is one of the things strangers will judge your child on when they meet. Silly names may sound sweet for a young child, but you'll regret giving one when your son or daughter grows up and is ridiculed for it. Also, NEVER name your offspring after a well-known book/film/TV character that people will recognise - similarly don't copy the names of celebrities or famous people too obviously. However being sensible doesn't mean that you can't choose a nice-sounding name from popular culture, it's just best if you think about the consequences first. Harry Potter: Harry/Ronald/Frederick/George/Molly/Lily are good. Albus/Rubeus/Remus/Nymphadora are bad. Star Wars: Luke/Benjamin/Owen/Leia will be perceived as 'normal'. Shaak/Obi Wan/Padmé/Anakin will be perceived as 'odd'. Lord of the Rings: I'd be careful drawing from here because of the fact that very few of the names sound sensible enough not to raise eyebrows.
  22. Ha ha, yes. It's the final sentence that does it.
  23. Young children often get drunk and then use the computer where you live?
  24. A red-haired nord finds himself walking amongst the hussle and bustle of Eubric's marketplace once again. Although he hadn't set out intending to do any shopping today, Haldor feels as though he might as well shift some of his older and less useful items. He heads over to Fabian's shop. "Hail, Fabian, I have something that you might want - a relict left over from a venture little while back." Haldor produces his Paper Doll and shows it to the elf. "Here, what d'you think? Might not seem the grandest item you've ever stocked, but you might well find some bugger who's scared of turning against their friends. Yours for 30 gold, yeah?"
  25. Haldor yawned loudly and scratched his head. With the conversation in the hall taking a turn for the decidedly uninteresting, the nord decided that he needed some fresh air and a change of scenery to clear his head. Stealing a mug of ale from a nearby table and downing it it one, he makes his way out of the familiar building and onto the streets of Eubric.
