Welcome back, master!
-
That's fair. I'm by no means trying to force all rogues to give out all of their consumables - only so if the party knows they're approaching a different battle and need to be as strong as possible. Boss fights in particular.
-
It's true that this could happen more. I appreciate how your character enjoys giving to others, and I'd like it is such an idea made it into other quests too. I think it was Scuba who suggested that rogue classes ought to pass consumables to non-rogue classes if a tough battle is on its way; it's not asking for them to donate riches or precious items - only allow teammates to fight more effectively in a party. On an average quest, a cleric would typically gain from 100-200 gold depending on drops, which for most is enough for a weapon upgrade and little else - certainly not enough for them to purchase many nostrums or smelling salts. If raiders and assassins were more generous as a whole then it would vastly improve battle effectiveness for a group. I don't read all the quests by any means, but in recent history I have not seen a single money-maker offering out buffs to party members - besides Mizuki - whatsoever. I don't mean lending or expecting repayment, but simply boosting up another hero so that they can be better at their role.
-
No it doesn't, although that is certainly a good idea.

Furthering the idea that raider is the most offensively powerful class available at advanced level. ECH + Massive gold farming = extreme power. That's why I'm going to consider any claims that any aspect of the class being weak invalid from now on. I think that shaman doesn't get enough love to be honest. It's a very balanced offensive/support role with no major weaknesses, but I can understand why very few people decide to pick it. A barbarian front-row fighter would instinctively go for raider or berserker. A true healing cleric would choose druid as it is largely a step-up from the base class' healing powers. I picked shaman as it is naturally designed for a style similar to how I played Haldor as a cleric.

SP seems to be easy to come by for most classes, yet upgradable shields are a bonus. Gold really comes into its own as a rogue selling point. Just to think, raiders and assassins especially are the strongest offensive options in the whole game because of their gold-gainin ability. Although the ability doesn't change, consumables leave clerics in less of a demand than previously. Elemental multipliers are readily available for all, but mages still manage to retain a flexibility that gives them an advantage. Useful, but not necessary or vital at all. The permanent half damage will always be a powerful asset.

What concerts have you been to?
Scorpiox replied to RaincloudDustbin's topic in Culture & Multimedia
I unfortunately am in a position that makes going to festivals impossible (I keep being told there are better things to do than sitting in a field listening to music), but I managed to watch what was provided by the BBC. The band are definitely showing their age, but that's what made it so awesome to watch. Yes, there were times when Mick Jagger couldn't quite hit the high notes, but he sang with such raw enthusiasm that it didn't matter at all. In my opinion, The Rolling Stones are just as good now as they've ever been. Part of what makes them so great is how they can control an audience so convincingly. -
"Aye, if it means that much to you, then you've got a good chance of succeeding if you put your mind to it. I'm not going to pick a team until I have to, 'cause they say there are two sides to every story. The only members of the wolfgang I've come across are the grunts - no better than common criminals really, it's obvious that very few of them actually know what they're fighting for - and a brief encounter with the one and only Donny Dozenhands. He told me and two others than the wolfgang was gonna change how things work in this city, and the attack on the recent ball seems to support this idea that a storm's coming to Eubric... we best be ready when it hits." Haldor looks over to see Tarn sitting alone at a table and calls over to him. "Tarn! Come and join us at this table, unless you'd rather lie back there on your own."
-
Perhaps a charge could be implemented? I.e: Initial choice: free First change: 50 gold Second change: 75 gold etc. Just a thought, it doesn't have to be taken too seriously.
-
Just as a general point to everyone: all heroes are welcome to visit the embassy for what ever purpose they choose, now and in the future. Consider it usable in a similar way to the library, as has Flare demonstrated.
-
Haldor sighs as Tesni stands up to leave. "Hah. There goes my drinking buddy..." "You're damn right about that. I'm in need of someone sane to talk too, so please, take a seat." He waves Alexandre to a seat. "How's that club of yours coming along then, had any new membership? I'm not one for tying myself to any one group of allies, 'case time comes that none of them are around to help me out if I've alienated the rest of this merry organisation. Did you say that you're planning to rid this city of the wolfgang? Good luck with that, the buggers are everywhere. Heard that they were behind that stint at the Foundation Day ball, nasty bit of business that. It sounds as though the top dog Ulfric is preparing something big for our good selves of Eubric, you'll likely have your work cut out. Me, I'm going to do my bit to keep an eye open and help as best I can. It's important to not show your hand too early, mind."
-
"And then there was peace... Someone get me some more beer!"

I'm not surprised at all that there is no LEGO music being performed or produced, to be honest. Your comparison to MLP is not something I agree with, as the two are extremely different concepts. One is a Television series, one is a medium for creating. Expressed perfectly by Bricknave, his reply basically explains this whole topic in a single few lines.
-
I see... Fair enough.
-
Nope, looks more like personal taste to me. Personal taste mixing with moderator powers is the absolute last thing we need. The post doesn't strike me as anything out of the ordinary, I have no idea why Peppermint decided to object in this way. Is this how we welcome a new player into the game, by threatening them?
-
I don'y understand... are you and Tesni prohibiting roleplay you don't like in the hall?
-
Perfectly true. It's obvious when reading Cronk's words that he's actually an extremely wise and intelligent individual. As Jeb says, the conversation with Nerwen reveals that the only reason for his child-like speech is that he is less fluent in the standard language. I would bet that I sound a little simple when attempting to speak French (I won't lie, I have been told that by a French female friend before).
-
Haldor downs Tesni's strong beer and is the midst of relaxing when an argument erupts in the hall. "You're no friend of mine, Althior Emorith. You want my opinion, you don't tell others how to live their lives and keep away from me. Did you think I would forget? Before you went away, you decided to give us all a handy lecture on how 'weak' we are for trying to make life better than how you've made if for yourself. No-one made you have this outlook on life. We all want to be happy folks doing happy things now and again. That ain't weakness, that's human nature. So, you got two choices here, 'mate'. Either you shake yourself out of whatever world you're living in, or you don't take one step closer to me without this axe going in your head." He then notices Benji acting odd. "What's happened to you, lad?"
-
Largh-múnd looks on as Benji approaches. "You have made your choice, I am not able to decide better than you who will live with this. What you choose is a brave thing to do, I respect you for that. I take back my dagger and allow you to leave. Now go, return to the Heroica and live as you can, Benji Carvenhall." The creature nods his head and prepares to walk back into the archives, not telling how it is he knew the half-elf's name.
-
Exactly. This is kind of a common sense thing now, Endgame. Just think of everything ever nerfed: it's when being used that we decide it needs to happen.
-
Largh-múnd remains looking as impassive as always "You come to ask for my help, and that is what I give you. I can understand your fear, it is something that people of your kind will feel at some point in their existences, but it is imperative that you think clearly before acting. You may leave our palace tonight believing that what I say is not true, that you will be able to ignore this condition; but that is not only false but a dangerous road to walk. What if you were to lie with a love-mate, and then found yourself changing into something that may not have mercy for her? What if you walk with hatchlings of your clan who trust you to protect them, only to find yourself breaking that promise? I give you a number of options from which to choose your future, make your choice carefully. You may go out into the world and seek those with a power to halt your plight. In contrast, you may decide that you can live the half-life, with two incarnations of yourself sharing the same body. Or the third and most unattractive possibility - you may take my blade and end with it. I am open to your questions - and if it relieves your pain, insults - as always." "But I request that you do not spit in our halls, it is disrespectful to our honour."
-
The creature watches Benji with his eyes every step he takes, and when the half-elf moves closer with frantic questions, Largh-múnd only replies as calmly and dispassionately as before. "You have been afflicted with a condition most dire, one that you do not welcome nor truly understand. I know much of the were-kin that walk this earth, but unfortunately, I can not help you here. The disease that will carry you from one form to the next is old and not something to be trifled with. To your question: yes, I do know that it can be cured, but it requires power so great and terrible I do not dare perform. If I am to reveal the power that could end your misery here, the weak-minded of this city would prove too ignorant to allow it. I do not risk our knowledge here to their spears and pitchforks for the sake of one boy, so I cannot heal you. There are others in this world who share the truth that I do, but they are spread few and far between. Rare are places where such magics can be practised in peace. You would have to go far and wide to find these people, and asking for their gifts would not be as simple as is from me. I remember from times past, when I am but a young hatchling scrambling on Baltorok's sun-scorched wastes, the names of a few who have power enough. One is known as Baba, but she is a dark force, you would do well to avoid her. Others are the Old Gods, but I hear nothing of them and so presume them either lost or dead. I wish you all the faith my kin can muster in your goal to cure yourself, but I fear that it will prove to be futile." The beast stops for a moment, before reaching inside his cloak. After a few moments, he produces a bright ornamental dagger, glittering with precious jewels. "You must take this. If you fail in your quest, then this may be the only exit from a life of shape-changing and restless sleep. Take it from me. I bid you well."
-
Thank you so much for allowing me to do that, Flare, I adore writing as Largh-múnd although it happens only rarely.
-
Largh-múnd wheels around in surprise at the sudden noise. Seeing Benji approach, shouting and in visible haste, the Lurgh-án kin mistakes the hero for a robber and swoops down next to him. Not giving the newcomer any chance to react, the abnormally strong beast grasps him sharply by the collar, shaking him violently. The creature's face does not change for a moment as he speaks angrily. "You come here in panic. Why do you do this in our sacred house of learning? Answer me, or I will crush your bones, as I have crushed those of thieves and brigands trespassing here for twenty score summers!" At last the man-beast is able to gain a closer look at the half-elf, and quickly drops him onto the stone floor with fast apologies. "Forgive me, I do not see that you are one of the Heroica. My eyes are failing, such is my shame if I am not able to tell hatch-brother from enemy. The Heroica are welcome here for as long as they wish, for it is them that keeps treasures like ours safe from danger. I am Largh-múnd, learned one of the kin, patron of our monument to history. You ask for knowledge of the were-kin? This can be given, as is the purpose of our building here. On the second floor at the third turning to your sword-arm's side, you will find the collection of things of those whose shape changes with the moon. Return here if you require more knowledge, and I will answer your words. But be careful, young half-breed of elf and man, the truth in these halls can harm as much as help in times of trouble." Largh-múnd turns to watch Benji as he dashes off into the archives, remaining as impossible to read as ever.

Hey, I put time and effort into that. It would be better if only Zepher sent me descriptions for his created races. I'm liking the character already, Duvors.
