Heroica RPG - Quest #80: Sic Semper Tyrannis
Scorpiox replied to Capt.JohnPaul's topic in The Heroica Archive
Haldor puts an arm around the young man's shoulder. "Don't be. We're going to get this job done, and do it right. Then we'll go home and relax, you'll look back and laugh about how nervous you were. You'll do fine, we know what we're doing. Hell, if anything goes pear-shaped - which it won't - it's my fault, not yours." "Hey Brutus, good to see you again, mate. Things are running just fine for us, the crowd seems to love it when foreign folks come up and slaughter some of their favourite fighters in cold-blood." The nord begins to walk beside Brutus along the hallway, talking as he goes. "So far we've managed to get a fair bit done. Cleared up a coupla' gangs and knocked off a prostitution ring, impressed the populace in a bloody fight, it's all good. What more d'you think it'll take before we earn Julio's trust enough to get inside?" -

"Aye, we'll go and see Brutus at the palace." -
After all you've done to power-up your weapons - I'd say no.

Haldor bids good-morning to his colleagues, thanks to the inn-keeper and then heads out onto the streets again. "You all catch some shut-eye? Good, we've got stuff to do. Firstly, we're gonna go and find Brutus again and get permission to walk the walls. Once we've cleared up there, we'll get going to the palace and hopefully start getting some results. Sound fair?" -

"Aye, we'll likely head off to our rooms now, if my comrades are done here." -
No. To use the mask with the armour you'll have to either cut it or raise it up by a stud (what I did, it isn't too bad).
-
That bloke with the hat (nice look, by the way) has some nerve, going into the poorest part of town where no-one has any money or food and saying: "Hey, we've got a load of bread here... but you can't have it unless you pay your taxes!" Bit of a Catch-22 situation there, eh?

When the day comes that I can find a Pinball Smartphone game... there will be no food on the family table.

"That sure sounds like an interesting place - maybe we ought to tell some folks back in Eubric about it, might be worth looking into. Thanks for your hospitality, mister, but we'll probably turn in for the night soon." -

"Sure, we're all-ears." Haldor thanks Mizuki for paying again, and prepares to listen to the rumour. -
Wow, this is truly stunning!

CJP is speaking from the point of view that these nerfs are mutually exclusive, therefore, he is stating that he would rather them be removed completely than merely made more expensive.

"Aye, take care of yourself, Ivanova - be sure to get yourself on-track, and keep your head down when the fireworks start. It's been a pleasure meeting you." Haldor bows one final time, before departing with a smile and a wink. He leads the group back outside. "Thanks for doing that with me - you have no idea how good it feels to be helpin' folks out again. Anybody got a clue of the time? If it ain't too late, we'll head down and see Brutus; if it is, well, we'll go back to the inn." -

Scorpiox replied to Capt.JohnPaul's topic in The Heroica Archive
"I'm sorry to hear all that, miss. Sounds like you've been through a rough lot. We won't be here for an awful lot longer, so I don't think we'll be able to do much to help you. Maybe you should just hang-tight for a couple of days - see if anything big changes, and for the better." -
I just rustled up a quick MK:I using this technique, and the helmet works a treat. The welder's mask doesn't quite fit with the body, so I used a 1x1 stud to raise it up a bit so that it works. With this, however, the back of the minifigure's head is clearly visible - so I would recommend using a dark-grey head.
-
I like that combination - I might have to go and try it out now.

Thanks for explaining that, Joeshmoe. I felt that something was off - but I didn't want to risk posting about it lest I expose the gaping flaws in my '70s education. But on the point: It isn't consumables as such that are the issue: it's nostrums. If those at the least were removed from the marketplace, I think after time we would see a decline in their non-essential use. I don't think that hiking the prices will serve any useful purpose, other than to increase the already-large gap between rogue and non-rogue incomes.

Haldor nods his head. "Glad to meet you, Ivanova - that's an interesting name, ain't heard one like that for a long time. Taken, you say? By who, and why? Are they still around? These other girls, you mention, what are they locked-up for? D'you happen to know? Sorry for pressin' you, I'm just wondering if it's anything I could sort-out." The nord realises that he's running his mouth off again, and tries to slow down. "And what about you? You fixed up for a home, work, the like? I'd hate to leave knowing that I wasn't able to make anything better. It's pretty much what we're here for." He leans in close and whispers. "We've been hired by a bloke called Brutus. Things are gonna change around here for sure, soon, just you wait." Haldor winks. -
All I can say is this: Before your character makes a remark, any kind of remark, think: "How can I reflect my character's personality in this sentence?" It's what I do.
-
I really like the use of the welder's helmet for the MK:I. Has anyone thought of trying that same mask with a CMF dark-grey space-marine armour?

Heroica RPG - Expert Job Class Discussion
Scorpiox replied to LEGOman273's topic in The Heroica Archive
Those are some nice classes you've made there, Sandy. It's nice to have something the fill the level 40 void. Although I for one like the idea of Onslaught, it's unique. If people feel that it is underpowered, perhaps it could be changed to each party member doing a Critical Hit rather than just a regular one? -
At the very least, nostrums shouldn't be so easily accessible. Really? You're going to panic-buy all of the consumables in case they are removed?
