What concerts have you been to?
Scorpiox replied to RaincloudDustbin's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Sorry to resuscitate this thread, but... News! This coming Friday, I will be going to see 80s' star Gary Numan in my city of Oxford for his Splinter Tour. Has anyone seen him live before, or have any idea what I'm letting myself into? I'm interested in a few of his early 80s' albums, but I have no idea what this latest album will be like. -
Sandy is saying that the attacks of invulnerable minions will no longer prevent free hits.

Naughty Flipz! You know the rules: one pop song, and then bed!

Me, the rock dinosaur, am pretty certain that Imagine Dragons is not the same thing as Maroon 5...

You're right, of course - it's the slow progression and development that makes the song so darn good. Owing to the Floyd's deliciously strong copyright, however, the full version is sadly impossible to find on Youtube. I'm also a fan of their more instrumental, drawn-out works, such as the song you posted. Lately, I've been listening to some of Bowie's late-seventies albums again. They're rather good.

"Ach, my bloody head's ringing like... like, I don't know what. If one of you'd be so kind as to toss me a miracle cure, I'd be pretty grateful. Mizuki, you mind helping me out here?" Haldor waits to see if anyone will be chucking a remedy his way before he starts trying to kill the armoured attacker from the front row. Battle Order: Xander Romulus Mizuki Haldor -
I think that Brickdoctor is referring to the wonderful time when Atramor team-killed everybody.
-
I'd love Haldor to be there, for sure.

CJP, do you think that we will be finished by the first of December?
-
Just let me know when the Norse quests come up, okay?

Haldor clutches his head in pain. Same order. -

The curse taking its toll, Haldor tries to kill shaman B, using his sceptres twice from the back row. Same order. -
EDIT: I've just re-read part of Quest #66, and it makes it clear that the Moone elves are somewhat an endangered species.

"Well, I would give you your reward... but unfortunately it isn't physical. Perhaps I could simply give you a piece of what the reward isn't?"

I'm not actually arguing against this item or calling for a nerf, I've just been trying to prove to the Quest #77 just how valuable that item is. A couple of pages back, some people were offering to purchase it for a meagre 200 gold - I hope that my posts have made it clear that it's worth a LOT more than that. In a sentence: the party should be fighting over that thing, not trying to give it away. Nerfing this to WP: 30 or lower is unnecessary - many rogues already have close to that kind of power already. My only wish is that it ends up in the hands of a non-rogue class, or that Zepher holds onto the thing. For what it's worth: Stopping loot and rewards should definitely not happen, and nothing can convince me otherwise. Obviously, the best option is to keep giving out loot as it is now, and just catching and discussing the items that slip through the cracks, like some kind of democracy.

How does it not? By dropping this weapon, one is not only granting the heroes a WP: 40 weapon (not the equivalent of a WP: 20 weapon twice, as immunity is pretty easy to come by), but also an object worth many thousands of gold. I would say that even the most naive of sellers could flog that thing for at least 2000 gold, which is FAR more than a non-rogue class earns in two quests. No matter how you think of it, that axe is an extremely valuable drop and not to be sniffed at. I honestly cannot believe that some people thought this an uninteresting drop. And finally: WP: 20 drops are NOT common, let alone without negative effects.
-
Okay, it's time for some maths. The total cost for upgrading a WP: 10 weapon to WP: 20 is 1550 gold pieces. The total cost for upgrading a WP: 20 Weapon to WP: 40 is 6100 gold pieces. Twice 1550 is 3100. That's 3000 clear. Is that interpretable for everyone? This makes it rather clear to me at least that dropping slowed WP: 20 weapons when WP: 10 weapons were common is a HUGELY different kettle of fish to dropping WP: 40 weapons in a similar situation. My opinion: the folks who are passing up that WP: 40 weapon are mad, nothing else. As WBD said, just grab yourself some winged sandals or imbue a scroll, and you've got your hands on a pretty nice prize. Seriously, no-one should be thinking of giving that away! No, you're quite right.
-
True. Owing to the way weapon upgrade prices are exponential in increase, WP: 40 is FAR higher in value than simply twice WP: 20. Claiming that WP: 40 drops are justified as apparently WP: 20 weapons are common (which isn't true) is incorrect - the difference is much greater than purely twice. I'm not sure that the community could cope with another rogue reduction of power.

He barely used it, to my knowledge.

Are they? I've never come into contact with any of these.

Yeah! Obscure history references are the best kind!

This is astonishing. Really, each one of your creations is good enough to deserve its own topic... yet you've put them all together in this display that not only demonstrates an eye for history, but also the keen accuracy of a master builder. That map design as well, it must have taken you hours to plan and execute that level of precision. Whomever suggested that you make this a CUSOO project is right - you'll get 10,000 supporters in no-time with a creation like this!

Sandy, did you intentionally base Salladin on the historical figure, Saladin?
-
Perfection. Possibly the greatest song ever recorded, I don't know.
