  1. The only other examples I can think of are Kevin‘s mum and the neighbour in the Home Alone set, the addition of Rinzler and Quorra in the Tron Legacy set, and the replacement of Finkelstein with the Mayor in the TNBC set. All Disney sets, funnily enough They so easily could have included Pinocchio, Elsa, and Stitch again, but went with wayyyyy more interesting options. This truly feels like a missing D100 set rather than the afterthought many expected it to be!
  2. Yes, but it’s “microscale” I put that in quotes because there’s no such consistent scale. It’s akin to last year’s smallscale Hogwarts set.
  3. Okay, it‘s technically not an animal, but one of the Wednesday sets introduces a new moulded gargoyle piece Looks to be compatible with minifig sets too!
  4. One of the Wednesday sets includes a new moulded gargoyle piece. I hope it shows up in future Batman sets to replace the puny brick-built ones we‘ve been getting for years
  5. So much for them cheapening out and reusing a ton of figures I told y‘all that the Ideas theme has a sizeable budget! This even surpasses my highest expectations though!
  6. Nah, I‘m good. If you want a minifig of hers, just take a Black Widow minifig, give her Mace‘s lightsaber, et voilà
  7. We’re getting Belle, Lilo, Geppetto, Bruno, and a minifig scale Simba?! Holy moley this is awesome!! They knocked it out of the park! Now if only we had Beast and Mirabel (or other Encanto characters) as well Kinda funny how Bruno is the only Encanto minifig and yet the only main character without a minidoll
  8. We finally figured out who Leto was really playing!! I cannot even begin to imagine what would’ve happened if someone tried this stunt in a different subforum, say Star Wars. “You are banned, and you are banned, and YOU are banned!!”
  9. There‘s no „if“ about that since a Malfoy Manor set is coming out in January Her being included is pretty much a foregone conclusion
  10. I agree, mostly because they could‘ve included Nien Nunb in there, freeing his anniversary spot for a different minifig
  11. The Hulk wasn’t in any of the IW sets though, which makes sense since he disappears after the opening scene Promo material for Venom 3 shows TLG: „It‘s free real estate“
  12. Agreed, it easily blows both of its precursors out of the water, and I'm saying that as someone who loves both of those Two is correct, namely the 2020 Burrow and the 2023 Battle of Hogwarts Yeah, the villains have been getting the short end of the stick a bit. I get that they're more going for the whimsical aspects of the franchise, but adding a few more baddies here and there (where appropriate) wouldn't hurt At least Bellatrix is super likely to appear in the Malfoy Manor next January, hopefully with a new faceprint! Well, that or her CMF S2 print. No more Mantis please, it doesn't fit all that well.
  13. I‘m not opposed to the idea as such, but this doesn’t work as a CMF series for me. This should‘ve been an additional thing like the Unikitty blind bags, not one of the three series! Heck, they don’t even qualify as minifigs!
  14. The F1 series apparently won‘t feature full minifigs, only heads and helmets on buildable cars. …there we go, the debate about which CMF series is the worst has finally been settled!! I seriously hope there‘s a(nother) licensed series next year to make up for whatever this is.
  15. That was pretty neat back in the day, but even then I would’ve preferred more variety. I remember being disappointed in 2013 that all of the AotC sets that summer were based on the Battle of Geonosis, no Jango’s Slave 1 or Bounty Hunter Chase to be found, which still haven’t been remade to this day
  16. True. My point was that the house itself is not iconic on its own, unlike the Burrow, which is recognisable even without the figures and accessories. Of course it's recognisable once you add all the things people associate with it, like the street sign, the bolted window, the owls, the letters, the room under the stairs and so on. The location is highly significant story-wise as @BrickMatit also points out and thus worthy of a larger set, but not without the added details
  17. Wait, it flopped? Is that based on anecdotal evidence or do you have info to back it up? And what factor would that be? Not having Claire and Owen?
  18. Agreed. Not much potential for new characters in either case, but a diorama-style set for the Battle on Titan would be fantastic! (Optional subtitle: Star-Lord’s Big Whoopsie)
  19. Exactly. People often cite 2013 or 2014 as their favourite LSW years, and those were great, don’t get me wrong, but I love the variety we’ve been seeing since 2021 in particular If only they could even things out between waves a bit more. It’s annoying to always have to wait for the 2HY waves for the juicy sets
  20. I think 2024 is an awesome year for the theme. The Mando S3 and Ahsoka sets are fantastic, the anniversary figures a great idea well-executed with some fan favourites finally getting the spotlight, and the whole RTG idea still puts a big smile on my face The reveal of the 2HY set list was the most fun I ever had with LEGO rumours bar none. While 2024 isn’t my favourite year for LSW specifically (it’s definitely in the top 3 though), it’s my favourite LEGO year overall so far. And it’s not recency bias at play here. Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Barad-Dûr alone are responsible for that, and other themes like Ideas and Icons helped as well
  21. While the Burrow’s not as iconic as Hogwarts, it’s still iconic enough in its own right to warrant a D2C set in my opinion. It shows up in multiple movies and has a very distinctive look. Even the most casual fan will instantly recognise it It’s like questioning the existence of the UCS TIE Interceptor because it’s not quite as iconic as the regular TIE Fighter. Really? Privet Drive 4 is the most ordinary and boring-looking house imaginable, and by design. It being unremarkable in every way is the entire point I wouldn’t be against a D2C set, but I wouldn’t call it iconic. It’s supposed to be the exact opposite of that. (Granted, that style of terraced house is pretty iconic in real life as it’s typical for the British Isles and not really seen elsewhere, but you know what I mean) Or take a break again, like in 2019. We don’t really need a big D2C set every single year HP is not like SW where the options are virtually unlimited. With HP, they will run out of options at some point unless they start to remake D2C sets, so I’d rather they slow down a tiny bit
  22. Still better than Leto’s would-be Jonkler.
  23. I finally figured it out: Absolute Jonkler invades toy forums to drive their members insane and turn them into crazed cult members. He is …turtle.
  24. Fair enough, I might be reading too much into it Nobody stated anything like that explicitly in this thread, it’s more the vibe I’m getting from some of the arguments
  25. I was only comparing IW and Endgame, other Infinity Saga films obviously have it way worse
