Wizarding World 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Good point, that‘d be rather inconsistent. I‘m glad they still gave him the scars though I was about to say that means they‘ll likely reuse the print for a DH set, but then I remembered Gabrielle‘s sleeping faceprint that was never used for a lake task set Either way, we now have a Bill minifig that can easily double as his DH version with a different hairpiece, even if they never include him in a DH set. -

Pictures of the Mario Kart sets can be found in the usual place! My favourites are the banana peel piece and the Baby Mario, Luigi, and Peach figures The karts look nice as well! -

TLG is present at Gamescom and will conduct a panel today about „LEGO Sparrow“. Sounds like the codename of a new theme to me. Since TLG mostly showcase their videogame-based themes at the con, I assume it‘s a new gaming IP (And no, it’s certainly not POTC. How come people still haven‘t realised that codenames have nothing to do with the actual theme?! Besides, there’s no new movie on the horizon and there‘d be little point in announcing it at a videogame convention) -

I'd say the Exile II would make for a cool set! Very sleek design and I like the idea of it having two separate cockpits -

My guess is a combination of factors, mainly them wanting to avoid spoilers (took us a while to see close-up images of Qimir‘s helmet even), the release date uncertainty, and the darker tone of the show -

Nice to see that Bill has the scars on his alternate faceprint! Kinda weird they don‘t show it in any of the official pictures though. Maybe they felt it kinda goes against the wholesome vibe of the CoS scenes -

Excellent point! Quite a few of the usual remake aspects will still be on shelves, which should result in some new stuff combined with overdue remakes in 2HY 2025 I’m expecting the usual mixture between OT, PT, TCW, and Mando sets plus maybe a new ST X-Wing (ideally even as the May UCS set, unlikely as it may be). Out of these, I’m mostly looking forward to more sets based on the Mandoverse shows. I doubt they‘ll take a backseat next year, with the hype around the movie already building up at that point. -

That’s exactly the issue. Releasing sets a year later is commonplace to avoid spoilers. However, now that the show has been cancelled due to insufficient ratings, they might cancel the set(s) if any were ever planned to begin with, and we likely would never find out I don’t think they’ve ever released sets based on something after it had already flopped. It did, the ratings were lower than Andor’s. Combine that with the huge budget, and yeah… It does annoy me though how in the age of streaming, shows aren’t given time to find an audience. If they don’t succeed immediately, they’re done for. Shows like Breaking Bad and Star Trek TNG would never have survived past their 1st season nowadays -

Agreed. It’s a cool minifig, but the scarred version is what we see on-screen The set looks even better in the clearer pictures! So many cool details. So much for that “everything’s printed” nonsense though. I knew that was bogus -

Yeah, I’m not optimistic about Acolyte sets anymore Too bad as I really crave a Qimir minifig, but it can’t be helped. What I hope is that Lucasfilm won’t draw the wrong conclusions here, like they did with Solo. I want more stuff outside of the Skywalker Saga! -
Wishlist: Future Star Wars Sets and Minifigures

Yes, exactly what the kiddos want, boring fictional politicians!! Seriously though, unless they have plot relevance like Padme, Leia, Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, or Chuchi, I fail to see their point as minifigs. Maybe once they run out of actually cool characters they could do -

There aren’t that many non-humanoid alien species in Marvel that require dedicated specialised parts. The Abelisk, Leviathans, and Gargantos worked just fine in brickbuilt form. Maybe if they tackle the gorilla-like troops among the Chitauri army in Endgame one day? But even then, they’d most likely be brickbuilt. -
Disney Properties 2024 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
There are none rumoured yet. Maybe next summer? The issue is that it was initially supposed to be a straight-to-streaming film, and the shift to a theatrical release was too sudden for sets to be designed in time -

And don’t forget that VERY graphic death scene (iykyk). It‘s played for laughs of course, but gruesome nonetheless Funny how we keep circling back to this discussion. It’s simple, TLG are a toy company with a family-friendly reputation, so they won’t touch anything rated R, M, or TV-MA (and before anyone brings up Echo, that was an accident). They will not risk their reputation and brand image just to make a quick buck with tie-in products to a successful R-rated film. -
I’m not sure if the previous DC CMF series sold well enough to warrant a follow-up. That said, I’d definitely be happy to see another one! While there’s more than enough options to fill multiple series with BTAS characters, the show’s not really relevant enough right now to justify an entire CMF series. The few show-based series we had were either based on current shows (Marvel), never-ending ones (Simpsons) or featured characters not based on any specific iteration (Looney Tunes, Muppets) Also, most BTAS characters don’t really need the CMF treatment and could pretty easily be done justice in regular sets, as we’ve seen this year

Why does this keep getting brought up? The 18+ branding is only a marketing strategy, not an age restriction. Nobody would take it seriously as such, considering that the Winnie the Pooh and Sesame Street Ideas sets also have an 18+ branding They would not be able to hide behind that. Edit: Ninja’d! -

Yeah, inaccuracies can be annoying, but 99.999% of people simply don't care about the wrong number of small colourful squares on a uniform or the wrong number of some cylindrical things. Heck, I'd wager at least 90% of casual fans don't even know that these represent ranks and code cylinders respectively I'm a huge nerd and can name countless Glup Shittos, and even I don't really know by heart which colour combination stands for which rank and how many code cylinders the uniforms have. I don't dispute that quality is important, but these complaints feel rather nitpicky. -

Good and bad news: Exabricks amended his minifig list for the Hall of Armours. He confirms Killian () but also states that it’s regular Pepper rather than Rescue () Maybe they finally give her a unique faceprint again? I really don’t like how they recycle the same like 3 faceprints for all the female characters -

Couldn’t agree more. Anniversary waves just aren’t a thing and never have been, so it’s mystifying why people keep expecting them. Can’t wait for all the “TLG hates the prequels because ROTS doesn’t get an anniversary wave” drivel coming next year At least they usually acknowledge the anniversaries with printed bricks, which is enough for me. I prefer the variety we’ve been getting recently over having an entire waves of sets dedicating to one specific old movie anyway. -
That still annoys me. Infinity War is my favourite Marvel movie, but the scene where Thanos calls Spidey an “insect” and he doesn’t reply with something like “Actually, my moniker is based on an arachnid” still bugs me (pun intended). That’s totally something he would say But I digress. In my soon to be 20 years on this forum, this has to be my favourite running gag/meme ever created here. The fact that guy was suggesting it unironically makes it even better
