Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Couldn’t agree more Despite how important the Battle of Hogwarts is, I mostly want sets based on other scenes. The problem I have with the idea of a DH2 Hogwarts expansion is the clash between the context of the scene and the interior of the set, which would probably be in the same style as all the other sets, and these two ideas just don’t mix all that well. Just look at the 2011 set: includes death eaters and an exploding bridge, but also classroom interiors. Pretty weird juxtaposition Then again, simply ignoring the climatic event of the entire series also isn’t an option. Maybe a good opportunity for the courtyard or something? -

It’s a rumour that’s been circulating, and hopefully a false one Good to know, thanks Must’ve missed that Sure, but I’m talking about minifig moulds in particular. Ninjago has a lot of specialised parts, but never at the cost of minifig moulds, and neither did Star Wars in the last few years. Almost every recent UCS set introduced a new windshield piece, yet there were plenty of new minifig moulds in those years too. And we already know the Gunship will repurpose the jedi starfighter windshield piece The only new mould this year that appears to have been designed specifically for SW is the 3x3x2 round brick in the X-Wing set. The 1x1 brick with axle hole is obviously an all-purpose part that has already shown up in many other sets -

At least neither him nor Agatha have been killed off yet, so their return is pretty much guaranteed It may take a while, but they’ll be back (and hopefully on the big screen, to increase their chances for a minifig representation). That’s definitely more than can be said for the one-and-done villains we still need in minifig form (Kaecilius, Malekith, Whiplash, Red Skull, Zola, Pierce, and Ego) -

Omitting the Bad Batch’s helmets would be incredibly cheap. So cheap in fact, it’d be about the cheapest move they’ve EVER made They still haven’t released a single new minifig mould this year, so where’s that sudden stinginess coming from? The only potentially new moulds based on what we so far know could be a Darktrooper, which is still unconfirmed, and Tech’s helmet. Fennec’s helmet will certainly not be included in the cruiser and Gar Saxon will most likely get a regular Mando helmet. 2021 might turn out to be first year without a single new minifig mould, which is just sad Even 2006 had at least one I’ve been joking that this theme’s budget has been sliced in half, but judging by this, it’s been reduced to tablescraps -

Not sure how I'd feel about that... I'm looking forward to the show of course, but the fact it already gets a set while the other three shows don't have anything so far seems a bit unbalanced to me. ...And somewhere, a mad titan's ears are burning So the worst case scenario is that these are all we get out of those three shows and the rest are based on What If -

I just wished they continued with 16 minifigs, at least for the licensed series. The glaring omissions in the Looney Tunes series are hard to ignore and I have a feeling the reduced roster will have a similar effect here. But @Guyon2002 & @Falconfan1414 are right of course, we should focus on what we get instead of what we don't. Goes for many things in life, not only plastic toys -

Sounds a bit worrying to be honest I hope What If... is the one to get less, since that show already has a set based on it. If either WV or TFATWS get the 2-minifig treatment, we can wave goodbye to the prospect of Agatha or Zemo minifigs for a loooooong time -

Um, yes? Probably Let’s hope they expand it at some point, we need the Shrieking Shack and the Hog’s Head (plus Aberforth) too -

I could see that work My point was more in terms of iconicity. Don't get me wrong, Hogsmeade is definitely an iconic location, but not quite on the same level as Hogwarts or Diagon Alley, at least in my book. Would I have liked a D2C set? Of course, but it's very understandable they went this route instead -

In what way though? I think it fits in perfectly with DA I actually prefer Hogsmeade as a smaller set, it doesn't warrant a D2C the same way DA did, at least in my opinion -

A raptor is almost 100% guaranteed, they really like to insert them whenever they can. The same goes for their baby counterparts of course. Hoping for a dark red one A T-Rex is also fairly likely, preferably also with a recolour. The rest are all wildcards -

I thought it was a jar of dried bananas, but leaves sound better Thanks, it does take a while to get used to users changing their names, especially when they randomly decide to do so after 14 years Better late than never I guess -
Thanks

They were more thorough then expected and even edited the barely visible chocolate frog card in the image above (right behind the croissant). Dang Btw, has someone managed to find out what the printed trans-clear head in the top-right corner represents? There's also one of them in the Fluffy set -

That may sound silly, but that price feels very nostalgic to me CHF 179 was usually the price point for the flagship sets in the late 90s and early 2000s, which I vividly remember because those were always well outside my budget Funnily enough, that includes the very first Hogwarts castle -
Huh, you’re right! Thanks

A bit, yes Most likely intentionally, to hype up the mystery. Meaning we probably won’t find out until the sets get released They even managed to keep them out of the “livestyle” images, those tricksy hobbitses -

They are, it says so on the back of the boxes The chances of getting all 16 by buying one copy of each set don’t look good at all, and that’s assuming there’s not multiple copies of the same tile within a set, otherwise it looks even worse Maybe the D2C set includes like 10 or so, which would make it a lot easier -

That could well be the case, there has to be a reason MandR voluntarily relinquishes the opportunity for a scoop video However, it’s also a bit of a gamble. As we’ve seen before, sets can sometimes leak or get revealed out of nowhere, so holding back info for strategic purposes can backfire if it gets out elsewhere -

Same face print and all? Weird, I thought the new face print and hair colour introduced in last year’s CMF series would be the new standard for the Harris version Why have both versions available at once when one pretty clearly replaces the other? -
I‘d like to ask to have my username changed, after almost 14 years I‘ve finally grown tired of it (darn you and your lack of creativity, 18 year old self!!) My new username shall be “BrickBob Studpants” Thanks in advance! Or do I have to contact an admin directly?
