  1. Bricklink prices are hard to predict in general. Once someone manages to sell a rare minifig for a certain price, it sets a precedent and a lot of other sellers will gravitate towards that price too. Unless nobody falls for that... Just look at the prices of different SDCC minifigs, some have triple the value of others for no real reason The aftermarket is a place devoid of logic
  2. Not a bad idea, actually. But how would they pull off something like that? The moulds used in the SW planets sets have been out of commission for a while now and they probably wouldn’t work with transparent plastic, so they’d have to create new ones. Sounds pretty excessive
  3. The Quidditch set sounds weird anyway. What’s the point of a $30 buildable object when most sets in that category are twice the size (and detail) and why is Hooch included on top of a golden anniversary fig (likely Quirrell)? I’m not complaining we’re getting two instead of one, it’s just odd
  4. What I don’t get is the buildable Remembrall in the Quidditch set. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to combine all of the buildable objects into a single set, rather than spreading them over a D2C and a 30$ set?
  5. Between this, DH sets, potential sets based on FB3, and more non-playset stuff, I think they will get the lowest priority
  6. Indeed, surprisingly. Apart from Jurassic World, it’s the only theme we still don’t have any set names for There has been a Luigi starter pack rumour floating around, but that’s it
  7. It is an object after all, so the dream lives on
  8. The root of my disappointment with these sets is still just simply that they're an inadequate replacement for the DH sets I was expecting, which is probably unfair towards them. Sets should be judged by their own merits, rather than what they're replacing in our minds This is another reason why the experimental sets in other themes are more well-received. If the SW helmets for instance "replaced" a wave of Mando sets, they'd be just as disliked as the August wave of HP. I'll cut the designers some slack, but they're still to blame for abandoning a well-established pattern If the 2021 wave and what I imagine the 2022 wave to be like were swapped, people likely wouldn't be as dismissive of these sets as they are now.
  9. Nope, those counts include all of the sets released this year I counted the set with Hooch among the non-playsets It doubles as a playset and a display piece, which is why I gave it its own unique category Well, that’s thanks to you and Guyon. If it weren’t for you guys, people would be A LOT more angry
  10. Let’s compare, shall we? Star Wars: 15 playsets, 2 helmets, 2 droids, 2 UCS sets Mavel: 26 playsets, 2 helmets/heads, 1 gauntlet, 1 D2C playset Harry Potter: 4 playsets, 1 chess set, 4 gimmick sets, 4 brick-built creatures/characters/objects (including D2C) I think you can’t fault HP fans for being disappointed
  11. Thanks, but you don’t have to I’ll still gladly buy the sets since they’re surely well-designed. I’m just disappointed at what the sets could or should have been rather than what they actually are, which is a bit weird when you think about it
  12. Funny thing is, almost nobody complains about the existence of the helmet/head sets or the upcoming Infinity Gauntlet because there’s so many regular sets to balance things out (insert Thanos balancing meme yada yada). If we got 2-3 more regular sets on top of what we have now, people would have been less disappointed I think. I know I would’ve
  13. I’m a completionist (sort of), so I’ll get it no matter what, albeit begrudgingly. I do realise I’m part of the problem
  14. Some people will care about it I’m sure they’re well designed and all, but it’s simply not what most of us fans are here for. I can’t fault them for trying to attract new customers, but it shouldn’t be at the cost of regular sets
  15. My condolences to the people who still thought it would be a playset I sincerely hope they return to form next year, but I’m afraid those weird experimental sets are here to stay. The designers proably took the wrong lesson from last year’s Hedwig set... I mean one or two such sets per year is ok, but they’ve gone way overboard here. Sure, other themes have plenty of brick-built sculptures too, but the SW and Marvel themes have at least enough regular sets to make up for that. For HP, every individual set matters a lot more so every spot wasted on a brick-built monstrosity is one too many Between this, the useless winter wave of Star Wars and the mediocre Marvel output thus far, 2021 is shaping up to be one of my least favourite LEGO years in recent memory. The only highlights for me thus far are some of the HP minifigs, Hogsmeade, the upcoming Infinity Saga sets, the Minecraft sets, the Winnie the Pooh Ideas set and the Looney Tunes CMF series. The rest is mediocrity incarnate
  16. The Voldy, Nagini, & Bellatrix one does sound interesting, but the other rumoured one is just baffling. We’ve never had a pack of four and why Hagrid of all people who just got a Brickhead last year? And I hope that stupid D2C at least includes an interesting minifig or two, that’s the only thing that could save it in my eyes I hope not. That would only encourage them to do more of this useless nonsense
  17. Just as much stuff as possible in one single useless shelf-warming set, so we can be done with this brickbuilt object nonsense and return to actual proper sets next year
  18. Given how much love PS and CoS are getting compared to every other instalment in the franchise, I'd say Horcruxes are unfortunately less likely than school supplies
  19. I can imagine it being sort of a Hogwarts supply set, so like a wand, a cauldron, a potion, a broom, a book and a pet I hope it sells terribly to teach them a lesson
  20. The article says "objects", not locations Objects as in wands, brooms, and stuff like that
  21. Stoneware have published their article (https://www.stonewars.de/geruechte/lego-harry-potter-2021-neuheiten-2-halbjahr/), but as expected, it's more of a summary of the rumours we've heard so far. Some interesting tidbits I wasn't aware of before though: Allegedly, the Brickheadz include remakes of the trio and Hagrid, plus Voldy, Nagini & Bellatrix The D2C set could be a collection of buildable objects
  22. MJ and/or Gwen I would say, plus Aunt May. I’d be very surprised if more than one of those was missing Maybe Eddie too, given his job, or was that part made up for Spider-man 3?
  23. Another leak: I’ve had visits to the dentist that were funnier than these painfully sad attempts at humour on IG Hoping for some actual leaks soon. #legoleaks has been a joke for a while now, but this is a new level of unfunny
  24. Good idea, they could bring back the face print that’s still exclusive to the Silver Centurion polybag:
  25. Wow, that’s a new low for IG leakers, and that’s saying something
