LEGO Star Wars 2022 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

The characters seen in the trailer The Twi'lek for instance is played by Jennifer Beals, so I assume it's not just a bit part. It's a side build, and thus not really relevant for the minifig discussion Might as well be a mech, because it's sure gonna look like one -

Hm, now that I think about it, I wonder why the rumour just says “bounty hunters”. If they were recognisable characters, even the one I’ve mentioned in my previous post, the leaker surely would have named them, no? And if not, how can they be sure they actually are bounty hunters as opposed to mercenaries, assassins, gang members, Jabba’s former captains, or other random goons? Or maybe that’s what it actually says on the box, another Knights of Ren situation In that case, they’re probably just some randos, like that human gunman that is briefly seen in the teaser. Better than nothing I guess -

That mould has been destroyed ages ago though While the helmet was decent enough for the time it was released, I expect A LOT better twenty years later -

We don’t even have the complete 1HY set lists yet and we’re already getting 2HY lists? Huh. I wonder if they’re actually based on the upcoming film, which would be pretty impressive considering it’s 13 months away -

That only counts when it's either a new or recoloured hairpiece. If you can easily recreate it with pieces currently available, I don't consider it to be new Watch them use the over-used ponytail piece from the 2008 Agents theme Huh, haven't even noticed that they wear different armour It's so different in fact it may actually warrant a newly-moulded piece (which was probably the case anyway, considering it's been 9 years since the last Gamorrean minifig and the old mould must have been destroyed). Ok, I budge, I'll give them that one. But the bounty hunters better be new, and not leftovers from the 2017 battlepack Just randomly remembered a rumour I've heard a while back: could one of the bounty hunter minifigs be If so, I'll take back anything I've said I know there are other popular bounty hunters rumoured to appear, but we already have minifigs of those -

Meh. I’d rather get minifigs representing actual characters than what’s essentially a real-life character creator, at least from the looks of it -

“Raum” has two meanings: “space”, (but not outer space, that would be “Weltraum” or “Weltall” or just “All”) and “room”. “Kofferraum” however only has one meaning, namely the storage area in a car, so it uses the first meaning of “Raum” Well, technically, due to how German works (creating new words by joining existing ones) you could create a new meaning by making use of the second meaning of “Raum” and designating a room in your flat to be the one you store all your luggage in and calling it that -

Either one guard instead of two, or more than 6 minifigs If the other two minifigs end up being new and interesting, I’ll retract my complaints right away, but none of what we’ve learned so far sounds particularly encouraging. Or let me put it this way: a $100 set based on a new show with only a third of the minifigs not being repeats is not at all what I was imagining Just look at EVERY other first wave of sets that accompanied new shows. For TCW, we had Ahsoka, Rex, Rotta, Cody, Plo Koon, Ventress, and many more. With Rebels, we got the entire crew. The Resistance sets featured Kaz, Vonreg, Griff, and new versions of Poe and Leia. The first Mando set had Din, Cara, and two Klatooinian raiders, while the Bad Batch had the entire Squad represented in its first set. And all TBOBF gets for the start is two bounty hunters that MIGHT be new I don’t bring up the films because it’s even more extreme in those cases I know there’s another TBOBF set coming, but it’s still disappointing to see this little amount of new stuff even with a show coming out. -

Don’t forget that English has so many homographs it’s almost laughable “Trunk” for instance has at least four meanings: tree stump, large suitcase/chest, torso, or storage room of a car. Maybe the translation you found referred to one of the other meanings Considering the kind of luggage Hogwarts students use, a trunk makes more sense for this set than a suitcase -

… we finally got rid of Angry Clone and people are still complaining? Please explain how this is an issue of “accuracy” if we never ever see Snowtroopers without their helmets. How is a featureless black head supposed to be more accurate? Didn’t know Snowtroopers really look like Ringwraiths under there And what gender the extras had during filming is a non-argument, because by that logic, stunt doubles should also be represented, meaning that Din Djarin for instance should have three different heads depending on the scene -

In German, “Koffer” can refer to a suitcase or a trunk (plus other types of luggage as well) I think we need to wait for pictures before we know what we end up getting -

It’s too early to call it a rule of thumb though. Just look at the 1HY of 2020, that was still pretty awesome! -

Of course I didn’t expect spoiler characters, but is something NEW really that much to ask for? Sets based on upcoming films and shows habe always been a source of new and interesting minifigs, until now. Sure, it’s a Mando spin-off, but that’s no excuse as the teaser has shown plenty of new, non-spoilerific characters As a collector, how am I supposed to be excited for something I already have multiples of? I can’t believe I’m saying this, but purely in terms of minifigs, the 1HY 2022 lineup could well be even worse than last year’s. Back then, we at least had Beskar Mando and Dodonna. For 2022, the only confirmed novelty so far is a non-canonical torso print Let’s hope the two unknown minifigs and the accessory packs are worthwhile, but I’m not too confident -

Wow, that sounds absolutely lame. Wouldn't be surprised now if the two "bounty hunters" are rehashes as well Brand-new show and they still have to cut corners at every opportunity. It was practically the only set that had any potential for new and exciting minifigs, and of course they wasted it on 10 year old rehashes -

Basically any day now The first (and probably only) Star Wars minifig has recently leaked and so has a Monkie Kid minifig, shouldn’t take too long before we see minifigs from other themes as well -

Series 4 is excellent, definitely one of my favourites thus far The other sets are cool additions too, especially Dory And interesting to see that the smallest set isn’t a regular suit, nice change of pace Hopefully Bowser Jr fits in too -

According to @Childish_Landino, there is evidence to suggest that the accessory packs could be released in January I definitely hope so, that wave is in desperate need of some glow-up …unless the packs are just as lame in terms of minifig selection, you never know -

Now that leak season has finally begun, I hope we’ll get to see one of the HP minifigs soon Unless the sets really are released in March, in which case we’d have to wait until late December/early January It’s completely randomised, so that can happen -

It’s the fifth year already, so remakes are fair game now. We’ve been very lucky so far in that regard (even this year’s CoS included enough new stuff to justify its existence IMO), but we might run out of luck soon Hogwarts Express and Quidditch remakes wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest, but as long as they still try to include something new (sidebuilds, accessories, animals, and/or minifigs), I’m not too bothered by that. Also, if the wave itself is well-balanced between remakes and new stuff (*squinting at SW*), you won’t see me complaining -

True, but we have no idea when they’ll get released, so I didn’t consider them as part of the January wave And even if they were part of that wave, these packs usually leak as a whole, which means the Scout is still likely to be our only factory leak for that wave. Pretty pathetic, but at least the March wave looks a lot better -

The Hoth Scout Trooper looks good, glad they gave them a new torso print My next thought was then which minifig could leak next, until I realised this is it for the January wave Unless we get a snow-covered Chewy or something, this is probably the only new minifig. Waiting for the March leaks then…
