DC Superheroes 2022 - Rumors & Discussion

These look fantastic! Definitely displaying all of the motives -
I thought the order was Saban, Disney, back to Saban, and now Hasbro

Wizarding World 2022 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
That‘s an excellent point OotP really is the only film (besides DH) that hasn‘t had a Hogwarts extension dedicated to it yet, unless you count the RoR. Umbridge‘s office and a new rendition of the wall of decrees would be excellent additions, not sure what else they could include that‘s specific to OotP. A set like that would also be a great opportunity to include another Filch minifig, this time accompanied by Mrs Norris -

These books have no bearing on upcoming sets whatsoever Or have you seen a Quidditch-related set or one with Cedric included recently? Or one with a Lucius minifig? -
Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

Heh, good one I sure hope it runs longer than two years this time, but Indy doesn‘t have the same evergreen potential that other franchises have, but it doesn‘t really need to Cover all of the films with 3-4 sets each, give us all major players this time, and we‘re golden -

Yeah, it‘d be a bit too soon for that. Also, if the upcoming June set was based on the episode, that would mean that -

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but how on Earth would they fill ten years of sets based on Indy? Unless they start doing sets based on books, comics, and the TV show, but those aren't really canon -
No chance, as Power Rangers is now owned by Hasbro

Yeah, it's been a while since his last appearance in a set Unless you count Goldemort -

All aboard the Gringotts hype train! Next stop: Disappointmenttown A moulded creature is definitely likely, given the price point. I‘d rather have a troll or a Thestral though Speaking of which: I‘ve been thinking about that Thestral set idea I‘ve recently mentioned. Looking at the recent City set descriptions made me realise that TLG seem to be on a baby animal trip lately. Imagine a set based on the Thestral feeding scene from OotP with a baby one included -

Or better yet, a MoM set that includes both the duel and the Battle at the Department of Mysteries Not likely, but let a man dream -

As OotP is one of my favourites, if not THE favourite instalment in the franchise, I‘d love for your prediction to come true The two sets we got in 2020 were great, but there‘s so much more they could do! As I‘ve said before, I think the best route to take would be to abandon the two-film-per-year-with-a-little-extra structure completely and just release a random assortment of sets based on all the films every year. That‘s basically what they‘re doing with the March sets already: GoF Moments set, PoA Moments set with DH!Trelawney minifig, PoA Hospital Wing, and PS Hogwarts Trunk. Pretty random I think -

Pretty funny coincidence: TLG's contract with Lucasfilm regarding Star Wars is also running out this year This means they could actually do the same thing Hasbro did and announce the return of Indy simultaneously with an extension of the SW license for another ten years -

Hard to tell, TLG are not really consistent when it comes to teasers The Mario theme for instance was announced on a very fitting date (March 10th), while other reveals happened rather randomly (e.g. Trolls and Minions, which were announced in quick succession almost a year before the latter’s release). My guess would be sometime in Summer -

I get your point, but I‘d still have to display the towers next to the other 2021 sets as opposed to the 2018-20 ones due to the green roofs They just wouldn‘t fit in (and I‘m a purist, so replacing parts is out of the question) -

The only castle-related stuff I still want is Dumbledore‘s office, the bathroom again (Troll attack scene), and that‘s about it The belltowers maybe, but they would obviously be in the new style, so not as appealing as they could have been before. There’s plenty of Hogwarts-adjacent stuff I’d like to see though: the Shrieking Shack, PS Hagrid‘s Hut, second task, Thestral feeding, Hogwarts carriages, more Hogsmeade buildings… -

I'm with you 100% There's so many interesting locations they could do, but it takes ages to get to them when one or several of the top spots every year always go to Hogwarts extensions What I want them to do is the opposite of what they did last year: Instead of having only one non-Hogwarts location set (Hogsmeade), every set but one should feature other locations this year Not gonna happen of course, but one can dream -

They only seem to feature a character‘s nose if it‘s an essential element to their design, like in Dobby‘s case The noses of the Na‘vi aren‘t pronounced enough to justify them being part of their minifig designs IMO -

The shift from creativity to consumer fan base?
BrickBob Studpants replied to mikaelsol's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I‘m not accusing anyone of gatekeeping, but I have a feeling there are some such undertones in this discussion The way I see it, it‘s more of an expansion rather than a shift. While they used to only cater to the creative side of the hobby (i.e. before instructions existed), they have started to broaden their range by also targeting (adult) collectors and people who want to use their products for decoration. These are all valid forms of enjoying LEGO. It‘s a construction toy, playsets, display pieces, action figures, dolls, and decorative articles all rolled into one. People who only care about one of these aspects are fans nonetheless It‘s natural for a versatile product to have a heterogeneous fanbase
