  1. Out there, as in "outer space"? Just joking, of course. We really shouldn't read too much into it I'm expecting a small one-off theme to celebrate the anniversary
  2. 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2019 are still hard to beat You'd better give us Gringotts, TLG, or 2022 can kiss its gold medal goodbye If Gringotts isn't coming, the existence of a new Stranger Things set will be the deciding factor between silver and bronze It really is a shame. And that cool retrospective article stonewars published recently only serves to pour salt into our wounds
  3. Thanks for confirming it Wonder what it could be then Perhaps something to celebrate the anniversary on top of the fan-voted set?
  4. There are no set numbers unaccounted for (except for those four that belong to a new theme), so we have no reason to believe the sets are still coming this year. The initial rumour must‘ve been outdated info because the film got delayed rather recently Or it was always bogus. Wouldn‘t surprise me anymore, looking at the current state of leaks True, but a potentially exclusive 4 set licensed theme also strikes me as weird Edit: Brick Clicker said it‘s an unlicensed theme over in the Avatar thread
  5. Wasn‘t that the codename for the mechs?
  6. Well, it‘s not 100% confirmed yet I do believe it is based on the descriptions, but you always have to be careful with prelims
  7. I‘m not mad at Stonewars (even though speculating Coconut was Indy based on some far-fetched videogame connection was very silly ), I’m mad at myself for getting my hopes up. If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is I knew they‘d never bring back a theme this much in advance of the release of a new film! Let‘s hope they have multiple waves planned for next year like they did in 2008, so we could have a first wave in January already I know that kind of release pattern has not been a thing in ages, but this would be a good opportunity to bring it back Edit: Time to change the title of the thread I suppose
  8. Indy not coming out this year has sawn a leg off of 2022‘s favourite-year-ever throne Now it‘s down to HP to save it. 2022 only gets my award if the MoM set is confirmed to be based on DH part 1 and if the D2C set is a DA expansion
  9. Yeah, he probably would have phrased it a bit differently. What else could it be though, if it‘s licensed (which I highly doubt at this point)? I hope we hear more soon
  10. Why would they want them to be differentiated based on colours? It‘s not like they changed the Benatar‘s colour scheme last year either
  11. Indeed. It‘s another reason I assume it to be an in-house theme, so I don‘t end up disappointed Well, „more disappointed“, rather. I was really looking forward to Indy sets this year Should‘ve listened to my gut on this, of course they‘re not releasing sets this year when the new film has been pushed back to next year. I wonder why the leakers were so convinced of Coconut being Indy
  12. No, he didn't specify anything My point was that the new theme is less likely to be licensed because an in-house one would be easier to keep a secret. We only learned of Monkie Kid's existence beforehand thanks to the logo leaking and a trademark entry surfacing. I know this might sound hypocritical because I was suggesting a licensed theme earlier myself (Stranger Things), but there's two reasons I brought that one up: There actually is a rumour there's going to be more than the keychain and Brickheadz It'd technically be a new theme without requiring an announcement, considering there was that teaser on TLG's Twitter last year That said, I still believe an unlicensed new theme is the most likely outcome
  13. As stated in my previous post, new licenses usually get teased or announced months in advance, and leaks or rumours are swirling around for months before that Even the one-off Horizon Forbidden West set was officially announced three months before release, and first rumoured at least two months prior. A new licensed theme appearing without a single rumour less than a month before release is pretty hard to believe
  14. Has that ever happened? Can‘t recall any examples. Licensed themes are often officially announced well in advance
  15. There‘s also no reason to have completely separate set numbers They would also be marketed under „Super Mario“, even if it was a different system I doubt it‘s anything Nintendo-related. Wouldn‘t they have announced that eons ago?
  16. I meant subthemes within a theme Marvel and DC share the same numbers, as did LotR and The Hobbit, or Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter. Star Wars sets always have the same numbers, no matter what they‘re based on.
  17. Those aren‘t subthemes though, and that was before the switch to 5 digits. A theme switching numbers from one year to another is not the same thing as subthemes having their own numbers in parallel
  18. Have you ever seen two subthemes that didn‘t share their numbers?
  19. He's reliable, yes He's also a member of EB
  20. Depends on how you look at it So far, there's only the 2019 D2C set, a keychain, and a Brickheadz two-pack. Doesn't really count as a theme IMO
  21. True, but it's rather surprising nonetheless. I mean it wasn't overly gory or anything, but still reaction to says it all
  22. I should be building the new sets RIGHT NOW, but of course the postal service didn't manage to deliver my parcel yesterday as promised
  23. Are there any rumours unaccounted for? The only one I recall is Stranger Things. Back when the keychain and Brickheadz were first rumoured, there were hints towards something more. Everybody thought this meant another D2C set, but we haven't heard anything since and none of the unknown D2C sets fit... Hmmmmmm
  24. Allegedly, yes. Still makes no sense to me. Regardless of whether it's licensed or in-house, how come we haven't heard ANYTHING about it a month before its supposed release? Not even Monkie Kid managed to achieve that
