    The two Avatar franchises have nothing in common except for the name, so no idea why they‘re always pit against each other Also, I fail to see why releasing sets based on one of the highest-grossing movies ever is supposed to be such a bad idea. Sure, Avatar may not have entered the pop culture zeitgeist in any meaningful way, but it has up to 4 sequels coming out. Less of a risk than other licenses they‘ve picked up in the past

    An wave of sets based on the sequel is rumoured for Jan 23. Those will get released regardless of how well the first wave performs as there‘s no way they can react that fast

    The exclusives never leaked beforehand. They were always officially revealed a couple of weeks ahead of the con itself. So the fact we haven’t heard anything yet simply means there aren’t any this year, in all likelihood Good riddance, I say!

    What I’m also hoping for is more variety in terms of facial expressions. Thanks to the new hat-hair piece that should cover the back of the head, we can finally have alternate ones! Also, this time they should make a distinction between young and old Indy Seeing how much attention they pay to scene-specific costumes/outfits nowadays (see HP), this revival will be a slam dunk!

    That’d be a really cool set, especially if it was based on DH! They could even include an exclusive face print for Hagrid with goggles Not sure how he’d be able to sit on it though

    I‘m also very happy about that. The 2008 sets all used the exact same minifig and only the 2009 ones gave us a bit of variety. Excited to see what else they modernised! There have been so many changes in the meantime the revamped theme can now benefit from. Dual-moulded parts (already confirmed), a unified minifig design, new colours, new bricks, new elements, new building techniques!

    Actually, anything they do after this point is just the icing on the cake for me! This year, we finally got the two sets I was longing for the most, besides Gringotts (those being Grimmauld Place with OotP Sirius & Tonks plus Kreacher, and our first DH1 set). There still are plenty of gaps to fill of course, but my personal wishlist now looks pretty empty

    Just thought of something highly speculative: could there be a CMF series in the cards? That could explain why there are two unlicensed ones this year!

    I wouldn‘t worry about that too much. Apart from the fact the Temple of Doom and Gringotts both feature minecarts, they have nothing in common (neither visually nor conceptually), so they shouldn‘t compete on shelves I mean the Hungarian Horntail got two sets in spite of all the Ninjago dragons out there and the Knight Bus didn‘t have to worry about the TLM2 party bus or the Hidden Side school bus, just to name a few examples

    …Are these common withdrawal symptoms? Amazing what an effect a lack of new sets can have on people‘s minds Seriously though, shouldn‘t we soon hear about those remaining mystery sets? I feel like they‘re pretty long overdue. I might be wrong, but we knew about both Tumblers at this point last year, didn‘t we?

    This time with a proper new hat I hope Nope! I assume a January release for the sets based on the first four movies and May for the others

    I hope a more reputable leaker chimes in soon. The Upside Down was first rumoured around three months ahead of its release if I recall, so we should hear something soon Also, kind of a missed opportunity. They should‘ve released a set in-between Vol1 and 2 to capitalise on the hype

    Agreed. Wasn’t even remotely funny to begin with, and only got worse over time First I’ve heard of it. Weird release date, if true. I’ll wait for a reputable leaker to confirm it

    Exactly. If SDCC figures are coming back, which I hope they don’t, they shouldn’t be based on the MCU A minor comic-inspired variant, while also annoying, is still acceptable to me

    On the one hand, they blatantly tease something on an official social media channel. On the other, they‘ve already published a teaser image last spring that didn‘t go anywhere, and it‘s weird to me this was only posted on the Dutch FB page Maybe it‘s a SDCC exclusive

    Yes, they promoted Matrix Resurrections last year Not getting my hopes up just yet! I‘ve been fooled by ST „rumours“ before, never again

    That’d be weird indeed! Or maybe the $500 set is a DC one after all
