Indiana Jones 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Pulp Detective's topic in LEGO Licensed
To be fair, the two Disney 100 sets scheduled for April also haven’t been added to s@h yet I’m not worried too much about the three confirmed sets as they’re still listed in lots of places. And then there’s the leaked minifig. Not so sure about the release date anymore though. I know the rumours always said April 1st, but maybe it’s actually April 27th like the JWD and TLaT sets last year, despite the Indy sets not being based on an upcoming movie. The Smyths Toys ad just said “April”, after all -

November, huh? Let’s hope this won’t be a repeat of the Hulkbuster and BP bust confusion -

Pretty weird that they’ve started to reveal sets scheduled for May already, while Indy is still nowhere to be seen Too bad they apparently noticed that we were using the instruction portal to scout for upcoming reveals. The last few reveals weren’t preceded by those updates anymore, and I don’t expect Indy to be any different -

Neat set I couldn’t afford the UCD SSD back then, so this is a nice way to fill that SSD-shaped hole in my collection -

How so? I doubt most kids give a damn which version of Boba it is. All they see is a Boba Fett mech and that's it Besides, that version of Boba actually has action scenes and stuff. OT Boba did nothing other than standing around and falling into the Sarlacc Pit -

No no, it wasn’t! Sorry if it came across like that I was talking him constantly being belittled by his mum when one scene would’ve sufficed to get the point across Back to topic though! Since Mando S3 starts tomorrow, I hope they’ll reveal one of the sets! Depends on whether the Nevarro stuff will happen in the first episode(s). If so, that would bode well for the small set to be unveiled -

Not to veer off-topic as we’ve already been warned by @MKJoshA, but I’ve never used that term in my life. Rey is a good character, not sure what you’re getting at I mean, isn’t it true that at least 60-70% of Syril’s scenes are just him getting berated by his mother over and over (I swear, if I have to hear about his stupid uncle one more time!) and that Mon Mothma’s scenes were just about hiding her transactions? Those two just kept repeating themselves -

Bah, these whippersnapper would-be adventurers have nothing on Indy I have no doubt DoD is going to do very well, so TLG should have a bit more faith in this theme -

Personally, I think this scale works great! Sure, it’s not in scale with minifigs or other dinos, but that’s always the case with LEGO. I’m just glad we’ll finally have a Brachiosaurus. Can’t wait to see pictures of it -

Come to think of it, they might be older than that even. Promobricks gave us very detailed set descriptions last July, so much so that they must’ve seen finalised images. I wouldn’t be surprised if those were the exact same pictures. If so, pretty impressive it took them this long to leak to the public. Personally though, I still wish they hadn’t leaked -

Probably, yeah. I was initially hoping for a Potter-style return of the theme, but now this seems more like a small one-off thing. At this point, I’d be shocked if the theme continued beyond 2023 -

Yikes. No announcements, no teasers, no rumours even (as far as DoD is concerned), and then the cancellation reports. Had the sets and Indy minifig not been leaked, at this point I would straight up refuse to believe the theme is coming back -

Wasn‘t TLG announced as one of the companies producing merch for DoD or am I just delusional? Either way, the whole thing is just sad. Minions and Trolls get big pompous announcements a year in advance and the Indy sets will likely just randomly drop on s@h without any fanfare At least the sets and minifigs look good! -

Good point. Resistance was so bland, I completely forgot it even existed It wasn‘t awful or anything (and neither is Andor, of course), but too low-stakes for me. Right when it started to get a bit more interesting, it was already over. No way we‘re ever getting more sets based on that show, but I REALLY would‘ve liked to see Kragan‘s pirate ship. Alas… -

Uh oh, hot take incoming I know I‘m in the minority here, but I didn‘t enjoy Andor all that much. Too gritty and joyless for my liking. To me, SW is all about fun and adventures and all the pulpiness that entails. The story of an unlikable murderous d-bag developping into a slightly less unlikable murderous d-bag just didn‘t do it for me. There are elements I enjoyed (mainly Luthen‘s escape and monologue scenes, all the scenes with Saw, Nemik, and Kino Loy), but Captain Crunch’s henpecking misadventures and Mon Mothma‘s neverending financial woes were definitely not among them. And sorry to say, I disliked how the action was staged. For example, you have a guy wielding hammers every scene he‘s in and when he’s confronted by a Stormie, he kicks him? Come on, ever heard of Chekhov‘s gun? As far as sets go, I would like to see a set based on the Fondor, but apart from that, I‘m good. -

Count me in as well, I‘m a fan of all the movies and all of the shows (except for one) We need at least one more ST set, namely the Duel on Exegol. Other than that, we pretty much got everything from the ST! I think they would. Rebels is now a lot more popular than it was back when the sets were around Luckily, the Ahsoka sets should scratch that itch -

Um, which ones are you referring to? None of the survey leak sets have been revealed or even rumoured for release yet. Rivendell was not part of that particular leak, it just happened to leak around the same time with the same type of watermark -

Between the Doctor Strange and Quidditch polybags, I really like this subgenre of forced perspective builds they keep doing right now Hope they continue with that! Also, I can‘t believe I like a Quidditch polybag this much, of all things -

Yeah, that happened to me in 2011. I enjoyed the movies when they came out (only saw ROTK in theaters back in the day), but when rumours about LEGO sets started to surface, I went from „LOTR is kinda cool“ to „Wow, LOTR is the sh*t!!“ pretty much instantly I‘ve been a huge fan ever since. Kinda weird how our hobby can affect things like that -

Personally, I‘d prefer the GWP set to be independent from the X-Wing, but if it has to be connected, Mon Mothma would be the best minifig choice by far IMO. Similar to Beru, all she‘d need is a new torso print Also, regarding the meme set discussion: I love whenever TLG acknowledge memes, but those references tend to be rather subtle. Good examples are the framed Spidey picture in the Daily Bugle, Obi-Wan‘s „visibly confused“ facial expression in last year‘s AOTC set, and Boromir‘s „You don‘t simply walk into Mordor“ facial expression. Making memes the focal point of a set on the other hand is a pretty terrible idea They‘re supposed to be fun little easter eggs, not a major selling point! -

WBD is still doing so badly, they allegedly pushed back Shazam 2 and Aquaman 2 solely because they lacked the funding to advertise them I seriously hope they manage to get their sh*t together before going back to ME because you can‘t cheapskate your way through that. Even Amazon realised that (even though they certainly saved a lot of money in the casting department). Some people are already speculating that WB will change owners again pretty soon, which would be for the best. Either way, ME is back in the public discourse, so this bodes well for more sets at least! -

Comics, man. I‘m torn between wanting the Batcave to be movie- or comic-based. The latter has a lot more minifig potential, but I vastly prefer movie-related sets -
