DC Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion
BrickBob Studpants replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Licensed
Didn‘t expect the polybag to actually be called „Batman 1992“, I thought that was just a codename Exclusive minifig or not, this is easily the best DC polybag in quite a while! -

Glad we finally get him, but that set’s minifig selection is still the weakest out of all larger HP sets so far. Can’t remember the last time we got a set with this many minifigs and such a low number of new parts. The recoloured Hobbit hairpiece isn’t terrible, but not as good as that new dreadlock piece from Dreamzzz. I suppose the HP and Dreamzzz design teams didn’t share their plans with each other -

While I do like these sets, there is a lot of missed potential. No McGonagall, no statue, no Fang, no printed dress for Bellatrix. And the minifig selection in the HE is so bland it hurts. 8 minifigs and the only exclusive thing is a recoloured hairpiece The BoH is still the clear stand-out, even with the false/outdated information we were given -

As much as I like the DA set, this new WWW set has so many neat additions it makes it worth getting nonetheless One thing I don’t like here though is Ginny’s faceprint. Why did they go back to using the Claire face after having introduced a unique print for her in CMF S2? CMF prints are not necessarily exclusive anymore. I’m afraid this means they’re also gonna reuse Mantis’ faceprint for Bellatrix -

Looks fake to me. It‘s way too early for minifigs to leak anyway -

We live in a timeline where a solid case for this can be made Even outside our AFOL bubble, it‘s a great movie that dealt with what makes Batman tick in a very nuanced way. And it‘s my favourite exploration of his relationship with The Joker too! Too bad the sequel will never see the light of day. My favourite recent DC film was The Batman, with TLBM being close behind. -

Looks a lot less creepy than I feared! Hope this means pictures of the other sets are not far behind -

Buildable Dobby, buildable 2in1 patronus with Harry & Lupin, Battle of Hogwarts with Harry, Neville, Molly, McGonagall, Scabior, Voldy, & Bellatrix, Hogwarts Express with 8 minifigs (including short-legged Harry & Hagrid), and a Quidditch trunk with at least one student per house -

Hard to tell. Could also just be a printed technic ball piece -

It‘s a D2C set, so we need to be a bit more patient here I‘d expect something in two weeks or so -

For that price, they’d better include the dragon I don‘t mind stuff from the theme park being included as I view those elements as a nice bonus. They don‘t contradict the movies, and I doubt they replaced anything that would otherwise have made it into sets. For instance, the owl post office is so small, I doubt they could‘ve done an „actual“ DA shop in its place -

71424 Donkey Kong’s Tree House has been revealed! Cranky and Donkey Kong both look great, and I appreciate those new leaf pieces. Is that a new banana hand piece atop the palm tree on the left? The other bananas in the set are definitely just the regular piece -

Sure. My point is that the dragon is perched on top of Gringotts at the park, making it more likely to be included. If the set was purely based on the movies, they could theoretically base it solely on PS and thus get away with omitting it, which would be a huge shame. -

It‘s r/legoharrypotter I think the set partially being based on the park is a good thing! Since it sets a precedent, it increases the chances of the Ukrainian Ironbelly being included in the Gringotts D2C set. Also, isn‘t Bill part of the ride somehow? If so, this also makes an appearance of his more likely -

The minifig selection is nowhere near as exciting as it could‘ve been, but the build looks nice and there are some really cool accessories. Arnold, the puking pastille girl, and the rabbit atop the wizard statue are my personal favourites Quite unusual! By far the largest HP set they‘ve ever released that doesn‘t feature Harry Unless I‘m forgetting something -

A reveal next week (at the earliest) is looking more and more likely. Right now, sets from three themes have been teased (Mario, Dreamzzz, and Ninjago), and I guess we‘ll see all of those before the HP reveal Funny how the earliest reveal last year is followed by the latest reveal this year -

My girlfriend also prefers minidolls to minifigs aesthetically So while most adults (AFOLs specifically) have a soft spot for minifigs, this is far from universal I certainly wouldn‘t dismiss minidolls as not „worthy“ of an 18+ set. As Bessa points out, they will be nostalgic to future adults too at some point! -

Nope, those are all 2023 sets There have been instances before where we learned about sets scheduled for an upcoming year, but those were either A) SDCC reveals, B) sets that got delayed, or C) sets leaked by the official instructions portal, which so far happened only once, namely last year. Under normal circumstances, rumoured set numbers only concern the current year. -

My take on Mickey and friends being included in the castle or not is that I don‘t mind them being there, but I‘d be sad if they were featured instead of Belle, Beast, Rapunzel, and Eugene, as Tangled and Beauty & the Beast are two of my favourite Disney films. Then again, there are still like 4 or even 5 sets that are unaccounted for, so they might come in one or two of those, along with Merida -

I‘m not surprised to see Diddy, but the other Kongs are definitely unexpected! Now I wonder what the builds will be like, and if they include DKC enemies in the sets My personal favourite is DKCR, so seeing the Tiki Tak Tribe in brickbuilt form would be great! -

Nah. I think the reveal would already have happened an hour ago, if so. At this point, I believe the rumours about a reveal in early May are true. As others have pointed out, the 2nd of May would make perfect sense
