Technic 2019 Set Discussion
kbalage replied to dimaks13's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That would occupy 1 port on each hub so that only leaves 6 ports for 7 motors I don't think there's any extra magic here. There are 2 hubs similar to the Powered Up ones just bigger to accommodate the 6 AA batteries and to have 4 ports instead of 2. Since it is Bluetooth connection the app can easily connect to 2 hubs the same time and control them. Actually it should be no problem to have 4 parallel connections (or even more), will be only limited by the application. -
It is published actually - https://lego.github.io/lego-ble-wireless-protocol-docs/ There are already several 3rd party apps available like Brickcontroller 2 (where you can use a game controller so you have fully customizable physical control), The Lego Train Project, you can use Scratch 2 or Scratch 3 for programming on a PC etc. @krtwood I would not worry about loosing compatibility over the years, fans are keeping alive NES and other ancient stuff as well, I'm sure there'll be several alternative options to control these things.

That should be the aim of the whole Powered Up system, to extend the programming and the sensor using ability to all lines not just Boost. The App-Controlled Batmobile also has 3 customizable action buttons with Boost-style commands, I guess this will be the same with different program blocks. Hopefully once the complete system will be introduced there'll be a central app that can control and program every hub.

Since we have Brickcontroller 2 I wouldn't be worried about this anyway :) But that leaves an interesting question, does the 4x4 have its own specialized app or will it get a physical controller? Did they mention anything about a Technic-style physical controller? -
Technic 2019 Set Discussion

In the past 8 years there were always at least 3 (sometimes 4) sets in the 2H wave, I would be very-very surprised to see only 2 this year. I think TLG simply wants to change habits and hold back any information as long as possible. -
@SNIPE thank you for the detailed explanation, as I tested with this method I am basically merging the two files with all the submodels and main models they contain. What I'm trying to achieve is to pick a single subfile from file A and put that into file B (that can already have several subfiles on its own). I would like to avoid the need to merge the files and then later one by one remove the unnecessary subfiles. I did some tests and found a solution, not sure if there's anything more straightforward than this: - Open a.mpd, open the submodel to export - Session/Duplicate this subfile, select "new file" in the popup window, fill in the data for the new file - Save this file as a new file, e.g. export.mpd - Open b.mpd - drag and drop export.mpd into b.mpd, select "use files by reference" - Click 'edit' > 'selection' > 'reorganise' > 'embed unofficial content'.

I'm trying to import an .ldr submodel from "MPD A" to "MPD B". If I have both files open I can see the models and submodels using the "All models currently being edited" view. If I have the "MPD B" main session active and try to drag and drop a submodel in it that exists in "MPD A" I receive the following error message - Using subfile "submodel-1.ldr" outside its main (MPD) file is not permitted. I can drag and drop the "MPD A" main model with all the submodels included, then use the "Embed unofficial content" function to include the contents in the "MPD B" file but that means all models and submodels will become part of the "MPD B" file and I only want to import one specific subfile. Tried to follow the advice found here but I'm not sure what step I am missing or doing wrong.

Thanks! Yes, the B model compensates most of the issues with the A model. I still prefer the modified B model with the swapped wheels, looks a bit funny but it's fast and it can climb well :) If we add the rubber inserts it becomes a pretty versatile and quick tracked racer.

Yes I have the lights, they can be purchased :) They did not include the new M motor from the Batmobile either in the package, not sure why that's not for sale yet separately. Shop.lego.com not showing these products is interesting, I swear I saw the full lineup about a week ago, probably it was published too early and then removed.

[REVIEW] 42096 - Porsche 911 RSR

Be prepared for some tinkering if you want to use them, the rear ones does not fit and with the front ones applied the steering won't work :) -

If you check my video you can see a comparison how it looks, but here's an image with those wheels on (the rear ones are not properly mounted as the wheel touches some parts): -
