  1. Not sure where you’re getting that from, comparing the parts of the castle this represents to the studio model, the proportions and number of towers are absolutely correct. The only flaws I can think of are that the main tower may be too tall, and the boat house not far enough down. The latter is understandable though. also there seems to be printed Windows here and there, not sure if they’re new though.
  2. So many people are complaining it’s micro scale, but does it really matter that much? It’s a scale model of the castle that’s far more accurate than a system scale set would ever be. And it’s huge. I personally just really want a model of the castle, and if anything this has diminished my interest in the regular Hogwarts based sets, because this looks so much better as a display piece. i keep seeing people complain about a lack of Minifigures too...really? Why would there be loads in a set like this? You can’t pose them around. and lastly the price, ign uploaded a video of the castle on YouTube and so many people are complaining about the price, this is an outstanding price for a licensed set.
  3. Well it’s 22” high, that pretty big. And I don’t get where all these “1x1” pieces complaints are coming from. There are loads of large pieces used for the towers and roofs. And a ton of BURPs used on the base, which are more expensive. This is amazing value for money. The HP is amazingly priced considering it’s a big licenced themed Straight away probably upwards of £/$/€25
  4. That set looks amazing! I am actually happy it wasn’t system scale. Even though it doesn’t include the whole castle (no astronomy tower kinda sucks) what we get is amazing. So much detail!!! Is this the 2nd biggest set ever then? After the falcon? The misses will be super happy when she sees this
  5. Perhaps the Ollivander minifigure is from a Lego shop accessory pack? The DC Knightmare Batman one turned up out of nowhere, maybe there’s a diagonal Alley themed one with like Olivander and Lockhart and a Goblin or something
  6. Remember when all the leakers were saying it was gonna be released in December? good times i kid, I kid. If there is something that’s been fun about following this thread, it’s all the twists and turns the info has taken. The leaked CMF list, the release dates, Knight Bus, etc. I’m still relatively new on this forum and this has been the thread I’ve followed most closely. Can’t believe next week is gonna finally be the release of all these sets here in the U.K.! Extremely pumped!
  7. All those £4 rumours on the Minifigures can be put to bed, listed on Shop@home for £2.99
  8. Well the prices for the HP stuff have been really good over here. If it’s €500, I’d say it’s £400 maximum
  9. Had a thought about the reveal of the D2C. What if they announce it on July 31st (Harry Potter’s, Neville’s and J.K Rowling’s birthdays) and then have it on display on August 1st. Would be similar to how they announced and displayed the Falcon last year before release, and it means people buying the new sets would get it advertised to them in store.
  10. Picked up the Batwing. The build was good, but I really don’t know what I think of the thing, something about it is just off to me. I think it’s the size of the centre, it’s just way too bulky. Dunno if I like it or not. Actually I think it’s the wings. I’ve never been a huge fan of the ‘batwing Looks like the symbol’ idea. They don’t look like they’d be able to carry the weight of the thing. Might see if I can do an alternate build
  11. I know, my point would mean it isn’t James Bond, I never implied that it wouldn’t really. But honestly a DB5 would surely sell as well as a Mini Cooper or London Bus. You say it would loose the James Bond fans, but it does sound like this isn’t selling amazingly; probably due to the surprise reveal, but could also be because a lot of fans have been turned off by the look of it, which is due to the gadgets. this is all just theory though, I obviously don’t have any evidence for anything
  12. Pretty sure they mean it can be done better, although probably without the gadgets, with which I agree. i like Bond, but I can’t help but wonder how much better this car would be without the gadgets. Of course the inclusion at such a scale is quite and impressive feat of Lego engineering, but man with that level of skill, the curves could of been pulled off so much better if they weren’t there.
  13. Thanks for all the reply guys, think I’m gonna go pick it up then!!
  14. What’s the overall opinion on the Batwing Set? It’s retired here in the U.K. but it’s availible for £50 (50% off) near me on clearance. I’ve never been too interested in the vehicle as it doesn’t fit well into the ‘realism’ I like in Batman vehicles. But this deal seems too good to miss? How is it in person?
  15. Yeah that is my worry, hopefully the movie version has the classic fishbowl head, forcing a new mould that can be used for a comic version later on.
  16. Yeah it does seem like Lego are still being fairly cheap towards superhero sets, so that wouldn’t surprise me. This trend of ‘meh’ sets in the DC and Marvel lines will hopefully stop soon now that the Lego Batman Movie has disappeared
  17. There was a Doctor Who Lego statue unveiled for SDCC today, so expect a return to “Lego has to do Doctor Who” posts within the next 24 hours (disclaimer: Doctor Who is one of my most favourite things ever, but some of the posts about it here are just laughable)
  18. But unlike those (okay not Doctor Strange) Ocean Master has been said to be the main villain from day 1. I was worried Black Manta wouldn’t even be in it much until all the movie leaks recently. EDIT: additionally; the 2017 Altlantian Soldier helmet is pretty much spot on for Ocean Master’s film helmet
  19. If rumours are to be believed; I really hope we get a Set with Daredevil and kingpin. We’ll have 3/4 of The Netflix defenders! And Daredevil is definately a sought after Character. i really hope we get a mysterio and Lizard. Rumours are that Lizard is coming, so hopefully he’s in a set with Mysterio and we’ll basically have all of Spidey’s main villains. i predict that the waves for Superheroes (both Marvel amen DC) will be bigger, both in terms of amount and budget, now that the Lego Batman Movie theme has ended. Hopefully the winter wave will have 3 comic sets and 1/2 Captain Marvel Sets. With an Avengers 4 wave in March (probably with less than 6 sets, as the previous movie’s sets will still be on shelves) and then a couple Spider-Man movie sets in the summer with a few more comic sets.
  20. Really like that sub. I hope there’s another set though as it’s odd we don’t have Ocean Master, considering he is a main villain in the movie
  21. Jamgbricks has a review up. The build is impressive, but I think it’s fairly evidence that the inclusion of gadgets meant the overal accuracy of the car had to be sacrificed
  22. Yes everyone is a critic, because they’re allowed to be, it’s not a crime to critique something. I don’t like this set, but my expectations weren’t through the roof. My expections were through the roof for the UCS Falcon and the Harry Potter Sets, and they more than met those expectations. Here I just think it doesn’t look enough like the car, compared to how well the other expert sets have. This build is as impressive as any other regular build, but just misses the mark in capturing the vehicle. It’s a valid criticism, and saying people are just spoilt because they don’t just eat it up and say thank you is twisted, like I said before; this is a product from a billion dollar company, of course people can criticise it, If there is no criticism, how do companies like lego improve their products and with that sales?
  23. Er...how...how does that make any sense. People don’t like a design so they’re spoilt? What? People seem to forget so much that Lego is still just a company selling products. If people don’t like the product because it’s not up to the usual standard, they aren’t being ungrateful or spoilt, they’re giving valid criticism, it’s their opinion as a consumer that counts to Lego, the consumers are the ones buying these things so their opinion is allowed and matters. Lego is not some godly company that can do no wrong, critical analysis can be given to anything. Sorry for the rant, but this is something I see so much in the AFOL community and people giving criticism to this DB5 don’t deserve to be attacked for it.
  24. It is supposed to be a giant symbiote, but Lego being a kids toy would want to have venom interact with it obviously; so artistic licence
