  1. Thing is, the Star Wars construction figures were just cancelled because they weren’t popular, so I doubt Lego would bring out a new range any time soon. i see what you mean about a dud, just look at the Harry Potter and James Bond threads, exploded with replies consistently from rumours to release, not much going on here.
  2. Never played or had any interest in Overwatch, but a lot of the character designs are interesting. I hope these are more than Brickheadz, could introduce some nice pieces
  3. Ohhh, right sorry I just misread your post
  4. You don’t think they’ll take a modular approach to the minifigure castle? But..they already have? Both sets have modular connection points, and the Whomping Willow Set can be separated into 4 parts and be moved around in a modular system, not sure what you mean by scaling up the the minifig scale sets
  5. 100% for transportation/ease of build The problem with maki g the second set is that you can’t do the right side of the castle, as the front of that part is represented in the set, and has just been cut off. They could potentially do it with the Astor only tower/bell towers being the front of the set, but they’re not iconic enough for another £300+ I reckon
  6. I mean in store, I’ve been to multiple since then and it strangely hasn’t appeared.
  7. I have no idea where you’re looking, there’s no connector points anywhere that I can see. With the way the set is set up, a second set just wouldn’t work. There’s terrain on the bottom on the interior that would prevent any connection, or just sitting behind the set. And you can’t add buildings like the astronomy tower or clock tower, without it being behind the interior of the current set, which just wouldn’t work with the interior of this set.
  8. So the Knightmare Batman Set was supposed to be released August 1st in the U.K. I haven’t seen it in any Lego stores yet
  9. Saw something on Instagram saying the bricktober packs will indeed be gift with purchases in Lego shops. Not sure how reliable the poster is though
  10. That’s a great idea for the snitch! Might use my spare as a replacement ornament for the Joker’s Lowrider!
  11. I must say I am amazed at how popular this theme is already. Inventory of the great hall and Hogwarts Express in the U.K. is already very low from what I here, and it seems it is a similar story in the US. The CMF series has been sold out in most shops I’ve been too, as have many of the sets. It is quite amazing how these sets are so popular, despite being based on a series that ended 7 years ago, with the sets based on mainly 2 films released 17&16 years ago! I hope this not only means that this theme will continue, but perhaps open up the doorway to Lego returning to other older themes (*cough*Indianan Jones in 2020*cough*) i think it’s almost a given that we’ll be getting g another wave or 2 next year. I’m gonna guess the first wave will be around the spring release dates.
  12. Am I the only one who thinks the face prints for the CMF are really off? Compare Newt and Jacob to their set counterparts. The printing is really thick and the eyes are way too big, and a lot of the spacing and sizes of details on the CMF faces doesn’t fit the usual Lego design; like Cedric and Ron. My Newt looks almost like a knock-off because the lines are so thick. And Jacobs face looks almost twice as big as his set counterpart. Harry’s glasses are way bigger on the cloaked version than the jumper version in the sets. And then the two Grindlewald figures are just incomparable. its honestly like the graphic designer had a day off when these got approved. The quality all round for the series looks quite low Edit: also comparing Tina’s smiling face to her smiling face from the set is completely different
  13. Trust me, when we hear anything there will be pages of it.
  14. Seems it’s exclusive to Hamley’s because of their Harry Potter merch floor. If it’s gknna show up somewhere else it will be Tesco or Entertainer, both are getting exclusive polybags. Entertainer aren’t selling the Harry Potter stuff so it’s likely Tesco
  15. Got everything except for Graives. There was a Lego store employee that was sorting figures by Character to help out, which was super useful as my other half was feeling very ill and couldn’t have waited for me to find everyone. They weren’t doing it for Graives though, so I’ll pick him up in the future. Got the 2nd to last Great Hall Set, only an hour after opening. So far I haven’t got to build any of the sets yet. Me and the other half are having the HP film marathon whilst we build our backlog, she’s built both Fantastic Beasts Sets, we’re both gonna do the HP ones next though! Super excited! i am in love with the suitcase set, Hank the Thunderbird is my new favourite Lego animal I think
  16. The moulded dragons can only move their legs back and forth and turn their heads. The Ninjago One, from this summer atleast, seem to have ball joins on all their limbs, allowing much better and dynamic movement. I know it’s all opinion, but personally I want to be able to pose a Horntail more dynamically, and brickbuilt would allow much more accurate detailing, especially considering the rough and spiked look of the Horntail, a moulded version would be too smooth
  17. It’s in Hamley’s aswell
  18. Just bought some CMF from WHSmiths. Interestingly, the staff said that they had actually been contacted by Lego themselves on Friday saying that they were allowed to break the embargo
  19. I’d much prefer a brick built horn tail. The mobility would be much better than moulded. Personally I don’t think moulded always works on big animals. It just about works on the dinos, but having the beasts in Newt’s suitcase a mixture of brick build and moulded was the best way to do it. A moulded head and maybe tail for the horn that would be best
  20. Whilst I don’t think Ollivander is froma Winter Set, there’s no way he would have leaked that early, there’s marvel sets that are coming December thAt no one knew about so you never know.
  21. This set sold poorly (in the U.K. right now it’s been half price for weeks and is the only set in the sale section to not sell out) so I doubt they will.
  22. I think if they were to “cannabalize sales from the D2C, it’s already happened. There are two great halls and grand towers releasing the same month; one system scale, one UCS/Arcitecture scale. However they are actually a similar size. I already have lost some excitement over the main wave because I think the D2C is a better display piece, so I’m sure the same is happening the other way round. However it seems that Lego are confident enough to be releasing a set based on play and one based on display st the same time, so I don’t think it will affect future Hogwarts buildings being system sets.
  23. I think it’s a very safe bet that we will get extensions onto Hogwarts. The castle is the most iconic location in the franchise, and if done properly, Lego can produce sets based off different parts to cover the next few years atleast, and they can focus on different films. CoS - Chamber of Secrets, DADA classroom, greenhouses (herbokogy lesson set with the mandrakes introduced for the CMF?) PoA - clock tower, dark tower, Hagrids hut GoT - tournament areas, Owlery OotP - a building for the room of requirement/ Dolores’ office HBP - Astronomty Tower DH - literally any building aslong as there’s exploding functions i also think it’s a safe bet that this line will be popular, in the U.K. atleast. London Hamley’s, the biggest toyshop in the U.K., now has a whole floor dedicated to Potter merch. High street clothes super store Primark has had an extremely successful HP range for a year or so now, lots of major supermarkets sell HP home products like stationary, pads and lights to the same capacity as Star Wars (in my local Sainsbury’s the HP selection has grown twice as big within the last month, pushing Star Wars out). There’s also a new range of action figures/dolls that have recently been launched. The popularity for this franchise is compatible to Star Wars for the way it’s resurfaced and grown years after the “original” series ended. (And now we have prequels! ). If it’s as popular in the US as it is here, The Wizarding World line will be sticking around for a long while, and with it we shall most certainly acquire a huge system-scale castle over time
  24. Where did you get that? A second batman movie hasn’t been confirmed from what I can find. Momoa apparently voiced an intro for the Lego Movie 2 trailer at comic con, but hasn’t been said to be in a batman movie.
  25. Saw it in person yesterday, personally it looked even less like a DB5. I really wish this hadn’t been branded as Bond so that the gadgets didn’t cost the look of the car
