  1. Yup. Also, ANAD Iron Man is Tony--Riri is Iron Man in the Divided We Fall era, which is taking over after ANAD Marvel ends with Civil War II. And look, just because it's the same suit doesn't mean that I'm that I'm drawing pointless distinctions based on equally pointless empty marketing banners. But really, anyone who would be upset about it being Riri instead of Tony... why? It's gonna look identical with the helmet on. Hell, there's no way you don't have some spare Tony heads lying around if you really want to retroactively make her Tony. Psyched for Kamala, would love a Spider-Gwen, Silk, Ms America or Kate Bishop Hawkeye, and am anticipating Squirrel Girl like the dickens. Would gladly take a Lunella Lafayette if it means we get a Devil Dinosaur. New superheroines are where it's AT with Marvel right now. I love the older characters too, but honestly, the books I anticipate every month are mostly those with new heroine leads. And it's especially exciting to see Lego branch out into making more of them minifigs, since most of the older characters already have a minifig (or several) already. I especially don't see how it's a marketing ploy to include the most popular new character Marvel Comics has introduced in at least a decade? Or to make an Iron Man variant based on the current design? If they were making a bunch of sets based on the (non-Kamala) Inhumans, I'd get it, but these seem like pretty obvious choices for characters to make minifigs of. And unrelated: Steve Rogers with goggles and a jacket is a real head scratcher. He's worn that a bunch in WW2 set stories, but I can't remember him using that as a costume in the present day. Which... when you include Ms Marvel in that set makes it a real headscratcher.
  2. If we're going with head wings, maybe the isn't a wink, but a hint that they only have one eye... On further thought, the third minifigure is OBVIOUSLY Odin One-Eye!
  3. Pretty cool lil' scenes. Any plans to do more of these for the rest of the Justice League (or Marvel)? Although at first look, the sack and knife in Aquaman's scene looked like a walrus. And now I'm very upset that thief isn't running away from a particularly menacing walrus...
  4. Well, if you're reading the clues right (and I'm PRETTY SURE I am), there's only one answer. Wings, NOT Sam Wilson, winking all the time? Obviously it's the New Mutants character Bird Brain. It's the only answer. (But yeah I have no idea, I just wanted to wink along )
  5. Yes, yes, I also know what's going on...
  6. It's possible, I guess? I dunno how they've shown her powers on the cartoon, but in the comics at least, she's never grown wings, and never flown. At least as far I can remember. Mostly just growing / shrinking / making big fists and some light shape shifting, but no flight...
  7. I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that the minifigs with the shield and wings were separate, so... it'd be Cap and The Falcon, not Falcon-Cap? Of course, thats' also an assumption...
  8. I see you're also a fan of the Snyderverse. In which case, let me share with you this amazing MOC of one of the key BvS props: Hopefully you can find a place for this delicious peach tea in the Fortress somewhere? (I mean, assuming you can make it. There's some PREEEEEETTY advanced building techniques in there. I can send the LDD file if you need it) Man, I'm probably not gonna be much help on this. I'd look to the locking vault from the Bank Modular from this year for inspiration on the unlocking mechanism. If you're willing to have a gear part on the front of the key, I could see that connecting to some gears inside the door to pull back some technic bars or something, maybe? For the statues, I'd try asking the guys over here in the Purist Superhero Figures thread. My ideas are pretty much limited to "all grey minifig, with capes", so... hopefully they might have some better ideas.
  9. Well... hopefully it's significantly better then the Rhino build. Lego really needs to figure out a way to make legs not splayed out fully 90 degrees out from the body for this figure builds. I wouldn't be surprised if we get both. Homecoming in the summer, and then a fall comics set. I would be happy if they only do Homecoming and give the fall slot they've given to Spidey the last few years to some more obscure characters, but I can also see them just flooding the zone with Spider-Man All Day Every Day. I do hope we get enough Homecoming sets that we get a number of the civilian characters. The movie really is our best chance to get most of Spidey's non-powered cast.
  10. I dunno, after Snyder, Singer is looking pretty good... I kinda have a soft spot in my heart for Giant Gold Key style-fortress. And hey, being basically a giant rectangle, it'd be way easier to make in Lego. Plus, Superman's Silver Age Habit of making wax figures of everyone to chill in his Fortress would be a great way of justifying storing all your duplicates in there...
  11. Yeah, I want that pretty badly. In case you haven't seen it, he also did an amazing X-Mansion. Never been more bummed that an Ideas set didn't get made then those two. No idea where I'd put them, but I'd buy the heck outta them. ...how have we not had a Leopardon set? Why Lego gonna make a Spider-Trike and a Spider-Helicopter before they make a Giant Spider-Mech what actually exists in canon.
  12. Oh hey, that guy found his pants.
  13. And yet... it's never enough. Why oh why can't Lego make a Hydra army pack? Yeah, it doesn't make a WHOLE lot of sense. Ideally, if I had more space I'd LOVE to make a modular Sanctum Sanctorum--I've looked longingly on Glen Bricker's version many a time--but that's a long ways out. Uh... let's just say for now that Spider-Man Japan's Leopardan stomped on the Sanctum by accident during Spider-Verse, so... Tony let Steven and his surviving window move in for the time? HUGELY psyched for Luke Cage. Really hoping they get Misty right, since that's a character I love despite feeling like the comics have never really done her right... It's kind of a co-incidence? It came from my mis-reading Hyperion on the spine of some sci-fi book my mom was reading way back when I was in fifth grade or so. And I've used it as my screen name since then. So... it's a misreading of the book imprint Hyperion, not Not-Superman Hyperion.
  14. Sounded for a second like it was All New All Different Avengers with the Falcon-Cap, which would've been a great way to work in Foster-Thor. Although with the clarification, guess that's out... which makes sense, since that's just happening in the comics. Can't see the cartoons or movies getting to that plot point for a loooong time. Plus, getting Falcon-Cap as last year's SDCC... Either way, super excited to (probably) be getting Kamala Khan. Wondering if they'll attempt to replicate her embiggening? Slapping some bricks on her legs would work easily enough, maybe some tan-flesh colored versions of those gorilla fist things? Do we know if the wings are going to be red in the final set, or is there a chance that's a stand in piece? I can't think of another character with red wings other than Falcon, which we already have comic and MCU versions of... Just checked, and the Avengers Assemble costume looks pretty much just like the existing comic variant from a few years back. Guess they could re-relese that, since it's been a few years, but that's much less exciting. Not that I can think of THAT many other Marvel characters with any-colored wings... Darkhawk, Angel and Vulture are the only ones I can think of off hand, and none of those seem all that likely for this set either. Ah well. So long as the marvelous character is Ms. Marvel, I'm psyched!
  15. Hopefully an Iron Man, then--I've got more then enough Cap variants, and filling out some more of the older Iron Legion models would be very welcome. Especially if they in any way approach the quality of the Silver Centurian. ...although I'm still betting on it Kaeciullus, or however he's spelled, or someone else from Dr. Strange. Rachel McAdams' character, maybe. The November release for the film seems like the most likely thing to tie the polybag to, anyway. That's based purely on release schedules, I know nothing of any real value, beyond just thinking a Civil War tie in that late in the year seems weird.
  16. Is a new Ant Man that anticipated off these forums? I mean, a Giant Man and micro-scale Ant Man were both released in this wave, and a minifigure of the same suit (or at least, functionally the same suit. I didn't notice any differences, and if they didn't update Cap's costume for this, I can't see them updating Ant Man's) came out last year... I doubt we'll see another MCU minifig until 2018 (maybe in both the Avengers and Ant Man & Wasp sets? At least in one of those...).
  17. Iiiiinteresting. Well, in that case... check out THIS shameless plug! But seriously, this is cool. I'm not a fan of the Donner films, but that's a hell of a structure to try to do out of Lego, and you nailed it. Does the interior stuff fit into the main model at all, or is it just separate bits?
  18. And worked in parts of the Sanctum Santorum set into my tower: Interior Exterior. Am gonna need to pick up the curve pieces in light bley in my next bricklink order... Dr. Strange, Mordo, and The Ancient One taking their place on top of the tower. The Ancient One will probably get moved down to the interior as I need more space up top, but Dr. Strange and Mordo are too cool looking to hide on the inside. Unfortunately, my calculations for fitting the portal beast in were WAY off--didn't take into account the gearing system on the back, or how that would interfere with the Sanctum window work. Plus, putting it in would make it take up the entire floor, with no room for anything else. If I add a floor, I may make this the entire floor, so I can fit everything. Or maybe I'll try working it into a modular... I dunno. It's too cool to break up just yet, so... keeping it as a built element on my desk, with the hope of one day finding a place for it.
  19. So... any customizers come out with knockoffs of these yet? Specifically the Captain America. Figure it's probably too early, but... also, Captain America has so many variants already he's a rough search. Figure if anyone knows, they're probably on this forum... Thanks!
  20. I mean, I'm pretty big Marvel fan, and I've never heard of Detroit Steel either. Seems like they only appeared in one pretty recent run, which makes them a really odd choice? Not to doubt people's sources, but I'm having a lot of trouble believing that they're going THAT obscure. I have to assume maybe one of the cartoons is planning to feature them? Also, putting down my bet on brick build. Making a mold for a big fig for a character that obscure seems even more unlikely. I mean, that Donald Duck head mold is RIGHT there...
  21. (...so... just to explain myself to the Mods: This should PROBABLY go in the DC thread, but it's also me as a Marvel fan being whiny and jealous, and I'd rather not crap on their parade with my jealous Marvel fanboy-whining) So, two thoughts as a Marvel fan on seeing these new Lego Batman set reveals: 1) SO JELOUS. Why can't Marvel Studios / Sony / Fox buddy up with Lego the way WB has? I know Marvel has been getting more sets, so I shouldn't complain too much, but a CMF line would be my minifigure-collectin' dream. Agh. So, so jelous. God I wish that animated Spider-man movie Sony's making was co-branded with Lego... 2) Looking at the Joker and Robin figures--THIS is what the Mighty Micros minifigures should've looked like. They're on the right side of cartoon-y, fit with regular minifigs, and just overall look AWESOME while still being extra comic. Again, so much jelousy, and a deep regret that this isn't what the Mighty Micros looked like. Shouldn't be surprised that they look better, since they're from a major, all studio push, instead of a weird small sub-line. But I'm also thinking it might be because they were designed by real cartoonists, and not Lego's in house guys. I love Lego's designs and the Lego minifig aesthetic, but it really falls apart when they try to go more explicitly cartoon-y--either in MM, or the horrors that were the Clone Wars line, or when they tried to get more anime inspired...
  22. That line always bugged me. As a fan of Lego, I know that pretty much every set comes with a small handful of extra pieces. How do you know you're not one of the extra 1x1 plates, Hugo?
  23. Awesome. Thanks so much for this!
  24. Also, now that we have close ups of the figs, I'd just like to add that I really like how they did the torso printing for She-Hulk--I usually hate printed on muscles* and the slim waist effect they do for women, but both are subtle enough on her that it works really well. ...Red She-Hulk meanwhile... not so much. *It makes sense for some characters like Minifig Hulk, but I hate it on characters like Spider-Man where we'd have more then enough printing with just their costume, or characters like the SHIELD Agent, where them being super jacked is totally unnecessary.
