  1. Boy, does China have some good (or should I say "Hot!!!" and "Fly!!!") news for you! (But yeah, I was looking those up to see if they looked like they were buildable in real life--my suspicion for one reason that we don't see the game designs in real life is that they probably aren't built to the standards Lego would have for an actual release. Seems like there's already some chinese knockoffs of the game designs out there, though. Saw a minicarrier too.)
  2. That seems like kind of a waste of a character slot, though? The last Tony minifig was worthwhile for the arc reactor torso printing, but if you want Tony in a suit, that seems like the easiest purist figure to make?
  3. I'd be in favor of this as a best practice. In general, I think a slightly more straightforward reporting of what people saw / heard, and from where would be helpful, and cut down on the number of pages of people guessing and extrapolating and circling around old info that's been discredited, which can get slightly maddening. (...but of course I'd say that, I don't have any inside sources...)
  4. For a period in the 80s, he did. And then he teamed up with Joe Chill? Not surprisingly, this all got erased from continuity not that long after because it sounds absolutely bonkers (seriously, read that article, because what the heck). But if you want to include Joe Chill's gun, there is continuity SOMEWHERE where that's a thing. Not my Batman, but go for it!
  5. Apparently they are now--I've been checking for a decent looking knockoff of the most recent SDCC Captain America (anyone who has a heads up on one, lemme know!) and there's at least one listing with the backing card up there. And that seller's got previous year's items with fake cards too.. That said, the ink is still a dead giveaway like Robianco mentioned. You can pick it out even in the thumbnail.
  6. I don't think they have the original avengers lineup on the show though, do they? I think the only one we're missing is Wasp from the Founders or Kooky Quartet eras, though, and we're definitely getting her when her movie comes out. ...unless you also want classic costumes, in which case we've probably got a loooong wait ahead of us.... Oh hey now! I missed that variant of her, but that's great news. And it SHOULDN'T be, but it also shouldn't have been hard to get leg printing on a lot of the minifigs this year, but... here we are. Who can fathom why Lego does what it does?
  7. Here's hoping! Seems like we already know the winter releases, and the movies are going to dominate the summer wave, so hopefully there's a spot for her in in the fall Spider-Man wave... Sorta feels like if the Web Warrior's Bridge Battle came out next year, she'd DEFINITELY be the alternate universe Spider-Woman in it instead of Ultimate Jessica Drew. But I guess she was still too new when they were nailing down the design of that one. Curious if the interior hood printing might cause a problem for them? I know customizers have done it, but I don't think any official Lego hoods have been printed there before. Curious if that might make us less likely to get her... Oh yeah! I appreciate the mods trying to keep things on track, but it would be nice to have a more open, less mod'd place. I was thinking of making a new thread for that, before remembering that this already existed... Anyway. Any big gaps in the lineup you can think of? I know people keep saying Mysterio on the Spider-Man side, but anything glaringly absent from Avengers Assemble?
  8. Dang, that's a well made diorama. Only thing you're missing are the giant card / penny / T-Rex! ...well, and those guns mounted next the batarangs. Maybe try swapping them out for the other kind of batarang, or the other kind of grapple gun or something? Possibly not an issue for you, I'm just a purist on the "Batman doesn't use guns" front...
  9. Hey actually, speaking of the cartoons, I think someone mentioned in another thread long ago that they were watching all of 'em, and if we had questions about who they thought might appear based on that, they should PM them. And then I never did, because PMs are weird. BUT I am curious what characters all of you who do watch the cartoons think we're most due for. Lemme hear 'em! (...especially if the character you're thinking is Squirrel Girl. Or Howard T. Duck. Or Spider-Gwen)
  10. Dunno if you're familiar with Warhammer 40K at all, but kinda reminds me of one of the Tau tanks. The gun tail is a little weird? I like it in theory, but I'd either try to get it pointing forward, or just lose it.
  11. Don't think I'll be collecting these myself, but I do love that brain brick.
  12. I'm not into them either, but they at least look better then the Funko Pops, and those things sell like crazy. I'm guessing with the death of Mixels, this'll be the new low-price impulse buy line. And given the licensing, it'll almost certainly do better then Mixels did. This is only a problem if there's arm printing of the bracer? Which I'd love, but I wasn't expecting arm printing to begin with, so I'm not expecting it to be an issue...
  13. The arms are definitely considered part of the torso, but what about the hands? I could see them making an arm extension using that connector, but I don't know if that breaks Lego's internal rules...
  14. I dunno, I can see it as fitting where Tony is in IM3--spinning out, and directing that mania into the suits. Sometimes he directs a lot of thought and energy into solving how to make a deep space suit, and some nights he wakes up in a panic and just kit bashes some nonsense together until he can sleep again. I don't think we're meant to read the Iron Legion as a succession of one line (like the main suits featured in the films are, or that the numbering would suggest) so much as Tony throwing a bunch of experimental crap together as a coping mechanism to deal with the Battle Of New York. ...or that could just be some fan wank to justify background designs...
  15. Okay, looking into it a bit deeper: War Machine Mk 1 is the Iron Man Mk 2, after it was confiscated by Rhodey, and the US Government had Hammer tech grafted onto it. So, it's basically the Iron Man Mk II, but with extra weapons stuck onto it. The War Machine Mk 2 is fully it's own thing, made by Stark, and is both the Iron Patriot in IM3, and the grey suit in Age of Ultron. And then War Machine Mk 3II is the black suit in Civil War. So, seperate numbering line, but a bit confused since Iron Man Mk. II is also basically War Machine Mk. I. And also, my not watching Iron Man 2 in a long long time made me forget that particular thing (it's my least favorite Marvel movie, and the only one I've never revisited...). MCU Wiki is my source on breaking this down, if you want to dive deeper. Should also help in the rest of your Iron Man numbering / nicknaming.
  16. I'm like... 99% sure that War Machine / Iron Patriot get their own Mk designations. You can even see "002" and "003" on the Iron Patriot and Civil War printings, indicating that they're Mk II and Mk III of the War Machine line.
  17. I'm in a similar boat. Beyond WW2 era Cap, I'm flummoxed. Watch it be like... Patriot. There's basically a 0% chance of that (especially since the goggles part I think is only in his outfit after he's resurrected as a multiversal evil entity in the Gillen/McKelvie Young Avengers run), but... well, if they pull a weird one (like having the Spider Woman in Web Warrior Bridge Battle be the Ultimate Spider-Woman that basically no one recognized or predicted), I get to pretend like I knew it all along!
  18. Yup. Really hope this set does well enough for them to justify making more diorama / display pieces instead of trying to make everything a vehicle set.
  19. If you want a Willis, why Red, though? Gimme a modular Nakatomi Plaza instead!
  20. Uh.... Hulk and the Agents of SMASH, maybe possibly? I mean, comics characters are fair game (obviously), but the more convoluted comics continuity (ie, why Jane is Thor now, or why The Falcon is Captain America now) doesn't seem like something Lego is likely to get into without it being backed up by the cartoons and movies... I'm all for them releasing SDCC characters, but I do think it makes that particular variant less likely--especially since it was SUCH a recent SDCC release. All that said, I have no inside info, and would be more than happy to be proven wrong. I'm fully in favor of Marvel's recent attempts to diversify their line, so... seeing that reflected in toys would be great. This particular one just strikes me as unlikely, even with the set description pointing towards Sam over Steve.
  21. Technically, the Super-Adaptoid can store powers, so... he could've JUST come from fighting Sam Wilson. I'd love a Sam Wilson Cap, but I can't see them putting him in a set for a long time, and until after that plot point shows up in the movies or cartoons...
  22. I need someone for my Dr. Doom figure to battle on my Avenger's Tower, and none of the characters we got already are up to the challenge. It's about damn time Lego release a REAL hero. That said, you stay away from my mom, y'hear?
  23. Yeah, that was my understanding as well. Would certainly be crazy if they did their most popular characters as con exclusives...
