  1. I forgot about the headband. It is way too colorful, it doesn't wrap around half her face as it just sits there on top and there's a white gap between that and her forehead. Maybe I'm overanalyzing a tiny Lego figure but still, a new mold would have made all these problems disappear.
  2. The lightsaber colors aren't new. That's why I said they should've used them a long time ago as the default blue lightsaber blade. Strangely, they only appeared in a couple of Hero Factory sets in 2011: http://brickset.com/...065-1/Furno-2-0 At least when you have all of your SW Rebels sets together, you can switch out the blades of the lightsabers of Kanan and Ezra with those of Ahsoka, but it doesn't go that well with all of the other sets you might want to add. The blue stripes at the level of her headband only accentuate how bad the piece really is for her, as they make the extra mass of the head tails stick out a lot more. I had hoped that the printing would make this piece passable, but the prints have been applied in exactly the wrong places.
  3. Well a Creature is at a lower price point as you would receive a free 15 dollar set. But yeah, why no Uniter? Are they expecting Quake Beast to be this year's Skull Scorpio?
  4. Man, that Ahsoka figure really needed a new mold. The old blurry pictures gave me some hope that Shaak Ti's headpiece wouldn't be such a bad substitute after all, but now that we have a clearer picture… I'm very disappointed. Also, the lightsabers ARE a darker blue, which is terribly inaccurate both by appearance and story-wise. The blue stripe printing at her headband level are really off and they accentuate that the headpiece is way too bulbous and juts out too much. It should look much more streamlined. Rest of the printing looks great, but my most anticipated minifigure of the year has been ruined by that worthless no-new-mold-in-retail-exlusive-set rule that apparently does exist. The set just costs way too much for it not to have a dedicated piece And indeed, Lego should've switched over to trans dark blue for blue lightsabers a long time ago, since it looks more convincing anyway. That way, they could've used the trans light blue blades for Ahsoka's lightsabers, just like her Hasbro figure has slightly bluish clear lightsabers.
  5. Good to know it's only 1300 dollars no wonder it was meant to start the SW pricing discussion thread.
  6. I almost completely agree with this. It should be modestly big structure partially integrated with a tree. A little swamp section and some simulated water would be nice for posing the figures, among other things. I'd replace that Bespin Luke with a Ghost Ben Kenobi though. It would be nice to see the evolution of more and more transparent limbs come together in the form of a fully transparent Force Ghost minifig. Plus, it all started with (the non-canon but still Star Wars themed) Jek-14. Bespin Luke could be saved for a great Bespin set.
  7. Have I missed something story-related? Where is all this talk about a rebooted Vahi coming from?
  8. The custom lower legs of the beasts look very different in the animations… far superior of course. Also, in the final shot of the teaser you can see the back of UtD. I wish the set had that many crystal pieces to serve as proper back armor, just like in the animation.
  9. Finally an updated Yoda's hut set. Well, I hope it's true. It could open up the possibilities for more TESB sets (no more Hoth please, some good Cloud City would be nice. I don't like this year's Carbon freezing chamber.)
  10. Well better is subjective, but if it's bigger it'll probably only have a few hundred more pieces while costing around 100 (enter your currency here) more.
  11. But it's not a mask. It's his face. And only the top of his face falls off for some reason.
  12. Okay definitely not useless then wow lots of creative ideas for it I suppose. But yeah I guess my main problem with the piece stems from the use in the sets themselves. I can't really explain it in words here, but do you mean that the piece has this general shape when viewed from the left of a beast: . . . . . When it really should've looked like this but you can't pull that off: . . . . . If so, that is something that really bothers me too, as well as the fact that the piece fades away into the body and kinda 'disconnects' from the face because of the color.
  13. I'd like to see someone using those useless lower beast jaw pieces as some kind of shoulder pad, just like UtH uses the shadow traps.
  14. So I built Uniter Gali and Akida today. They're amazing as well. I'm really impressed with 2016's winter wave. Too bad the summer wave doesn't look that promising, as it has big shoes to fill. Gali has an amazing color scheme and her look is really great too (I love that shoulder pad). I'm not that bothered by the short lower legs because it looks alright in many poses though it starts to look weird once she bends her knees too much. I liked her build a lot and the very subtle asymmetry inside her torso went together very cleverly. The weapon is pretty good. Akida was a pain to put together. I'm a perfectionist so lining up all of those long technic axles and bushings wasn't amusing. I like the end result and the stand is very nice. The uniting is all right. Akida's tail can't really bend straight down because Gali's butt gear is in the way. The reason why I think the 2016 torso is pretty good is not only because I think the look is all right, but it's also because of its practicality. It fits really snugly against the torso build (though part of that is also because said builds are more filled up with technic than in previous years). I hated the fact that the standard CCBS torso connection is just one ball/socket pair. I understand why they did it (so it's more customizable because you can put these pieces on the arms and the legs as well) but it makes the torso all wobbly. It's very difficult to grab a standard CCBS figure at the torso and during play the armor pops off easily. That is not the case with the 2016 sets.
  15. Just built Lewa Uniter and Uxar today. I guess I'm a little late at the party as well, since they are my first. I absolutely love them. I slightly prefer this year's aesthetic to 2015's and the torso armor looks kinda good to me (I must seem strange, but I kinda like Skull Scorpio so oh well). My swivel waist piece has great friction and it doesn't squek so I got lucky. I love Lewa's build and how streamlined ge looks. The weapons are underrated but the shoulder articulation is definitely a problem. I was however blown away by the uniting function and the way Uxar flaps his wings. It just looks so nice. Can't wait to build the rest.
  16. Plus super heroes sets have tons of new accurate minifigs with printing everywhere and a lot of new molds. SW got really lazy in that department, especially with the clones.
  17. Well they were very secretive about the TFA sets last year. They only showed the Battle Figures that were based off the previous six movies at Comic Con. I don't think we'll be seeing the Rogue One merchandise that soon, but I also don't think they'll wait again till Force Friday to 'reveal' the sets 'for the first time' to the public.
  18. Well if you still have a chance to buy 10188 then you should get it, as it is almost impossible for Lego to surpass that model. If the new one turns out to be great, you still probably have around 8 years to decide whether you should get that one too or not (since it'll probably be the new flagship Star Wars model just like the last one). The 10188 will skyrocket in value in the coming years because it's discontinued. I own it too and it's still my favorite set ever.
  19. Yeah TFA Luke could use some work, but that Leia render is great! I hope she looks like that in the Death Star. The A-wing pilot is absolutely amazing.
  20. Britain has left the EU and is now a part of the Galactic Empire.
  21. Well Europe generally has higher prices anyway so this might actually turn in your favor
  22. Yeah I always shop online. Everything's about 20 or 30% cheaper that way. Still, it could be even cheaper if the physical store prices weren't so ridiculous. This applies for almost the entire world of course.
  23. But isn't it actually worse if a terrible set with uninteresting figures is incredibly overpriced? I mean, sure, it's easy to skip on it. But it's about the fact that they dare to charge that much for it.
  24. Nah, the Assault on Hoth did a lot more things wrong, besides not being released together with the AT-AT and other Imperial themed Hoth sets. By itself it's terrible anyway and an expansion wouldn't help that much.
  25. Also, taxes are just a tad higher in the Netherlands and in Belgium than in most other European countries (let's put German prices as the prime European example). It doesn't explain why medium sized Bionicle sets are 15 euros/dollars in Europe and the US, but 18 euros in the Netherlands and Belgium. That's 20% more, way higher than the difference in taxes and the likes. A 90 euro set in Europe (in a lot of cases a 100 euro set) like the TIE & A-wing is 110 euros in the Netherlands and Belgium.
