Efferman's Custom Parts
T_Tank replied to efferman's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Are these also using the custom cv axle end or using the stock ones? -

Sweet mother of holly molly that's awesome looking. Think you could do a set of none portal knuckles aswell for that? Also would that be using the cv joints or u joints? -

portal hubs would be cool though currently just like some shorter steering knuckles so you could make a 11 stud wide powered steered axle. -

Well the current process through shapeways you would not see to much since its sintered nylon powder but a normal 3D printed would be win! -

The axles are 11studs wide at where the tires mount using a actuator holder to hold a 20 to 12t then straight to a u-joint then a 2stud lift arm with a smooth hole an cross hole. hope that makes scene. the tires used are 68 7x34r. Hope that helps out some http://www.brickshel...11140627084.jpg the lxf can be found in random stuff -

Out of curiosity looking at my rc version of zbj's mini unimog is there a way to make a compact powered steered axle? looking at the mini diff you have on shapeways looks like it work fine for the size an application on the model but wish I had some more sturdy front steering that won't slip out at the 4 piece "knuckle" ground clearance is a minor issue to would like to keep the lower half of the assembly being a half stud tall. on another note i don't' see anything in the thread dealing with the planetary transmission you got rocking on shapeways definitely curious about that! -
Actually own a exo terra buggy (second photo you got) An its a really beefy heavy rc but should be very doable in technic I'd totaly recommend grabbing a manual off Axials site for refferences on how to make most of your lego version I'd go with the 8110 tires for a more scale like look. The second I'd look at something a bit older like a losi XXXt or a RC10t the older 1/10 stadium trucks would have easier idea of how to make the chassis.

Holy smokes that little thing can pull a car o.o! Really surprised you can get enough torque out of those lego motors definitely awesome work. For kicks should take that with you to a group of rc rock crawler guys an see what they think of the power of lego! -
I have a note 8 tablet with a IR blaster on it would be curious to see how this worked on it.

New air powered engine - WIP
T_Tank replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
interesting idea though for firing order your gonna possibly need 1 or 2 pneumatic valves that been modified for minimum friction switching back an forth so you can get it running, also to flip the switch will need some sort of cam mechanic. -
Inside PFS-Large motor
T_Tank replied to Philo's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
The motor looks like its about the size of what is used in the kyosho miniZ cars or Xmod rcs so you could possibly upgrade the motor inside if you REALLY wanted to, only issue i see would be either somehow pulling the pinion off the stock motor or finding one that would mesh into the gear reductions. Really wish lego would make a compact radio control module that be roughly the same size as the pf reciever mayber 2 or 3 studs longer but still had the ability to hook pf motors to it. -
9398 Mini motorized crawler
T_Tank replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
put together the instructions for the nico trail crawler body for the minicrawler. I couldn't put all the parts together in LDD but once you assemble with real parts the body is under a little bit of tension but it holds together tightly hell i've dropped the crawler from a 3foot drop with the body an it didn't dislocate in a single spot! http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/T-Tank/ZBJminicrawler/ZBJminicrawlerN71/Instructions/minicralwernicotbody.jpg Building instructions -

9398 Mini motorized crawler
T_Tank replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Ya with the larger wheels has no problem rolling around on my bed (with 2 down comforters ontop >.>) an can on a flat surface push itself over my fist (about a 3 1/2 inch obstruction). may be slightly harder on the motors but sofar seams everything is working alright I really could use the different clutch gear since mine seams to allow a lot more slipping. -

managed to coble together mine with mostly black parts Minicrawler on small cralwer i can articulate to big brother! I've got less agressive fenders on mine since i didn't have matching colored ones for what zbj used though still came out well. -

T_Tank replied to Zerobricks's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Well it is possible to mount the mini crawler body on my compact chassi but the chassi is about 10% larger then yours so it doesn't quite fit right, actually the front an rear shock towers barely fit under the shell but it can fit on the body i'll get some photos up though. btw not to hijack but here is the brickself link to my compact crawler for you to check out zbj an anyone else curious. seeing yours zbj it really makes me want to try an rebuild it to be smaller. compact crawler -

On topic Managed to scrounge through my 5 bins for enough parts to build the mini crawler body an gotta say.. it looks so dam cool >.<! I'll get some photos of it resting up over some tires. might as well take a pic of it next to my attempt at a compact crawler (not really that compact though) off topic I've done a motorized conversion to one of zbj's models but i gave him credit for making the base model i just figured a way to make it work with pf. Zbj wasn't upset me at all for doing this at all in fact a few times i asked him for suggestions on solving lil issues here an there. (still have that assembled btw zbj its just such a awesome little functional model!) -

i'd love to build this but i'm gonna have to order 3 pfm motors since my 4 are intensely stuck in the middle of a few models >.>.
