I totally agree with you, Emperor Claudius Rome! Two huts would be even better to get the impression of a whole village. Plus there has to be a wooden wall around their village. Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely awesome Castle MOC, Aliencat! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and the architecture and the details are stunning! What I don't like are that ugly creatures and the bad landscape against the knights from the abbey fight against. Otherwise it's perfect! The most I like the so much detailed and realistic architecture of the abbey and the bucklers and armour of the abbey's knights (something different than always only lions, wolfs and dragons! )! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome Castle MOC, Sir Dillon! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic! The most I like its partly magical look! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's indeed a good idea, Darth Legolas, but I never do mod sets since I want them to be like TLG designed them. As for the price I think that it minimum will be 150 Euros. Well, like already said, for 150 Euros I'll supposably will buy it. But for more? Klaus-Dieter

The Evolution of Hrothingas Castle Stage -6-
Klaus-Dieter replied to DNL's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's again an absolutely awesome Castle MOC, DNL! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and the architecture and the details are stunning! The most I like the house with the detailed frame work, the donjon with the round colored window and the tower with the wooden oriels! The idea of turning the castle into a museum is brilliant, too! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
The Evolution Of Hrothingas castle Stage 5
Klaus-Dieter replied to DNL's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's again an absolutely awesome Castle MOC, DNL! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and the architecture and the details are stunning! The most I like the overgrowth with the many, well-designed and colorful trees, flowers and ivy! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
That's a great and very interesting topic, Tom Bricks! I voted for Yes (sorted) I don't sort the bricks of a set by color but take away the very little parts since you can't find them otherwise and even take away the very big parts that I've got a better overview over all the other elements. When the sets are only small I mostly don't sort the bricks included but with big sets I do. It's great that TLG divides the most sets into several building episodes with their own numbers and bags so that you can find the bricks much better. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the pic and the link, Sam89! I must say while looking at these new pics it looks much better than when we only saw it on the backside of the instructions of 10197. It seems to be well-sized, includes some interior and eleven motors! The Antilles minifigure is very well done! I totally agree with you, darkrebellion! The idea of a command center is imo great. But why do we get (Imperor) Leia's desk?! And the chair looks really ! And for what do we need a transport vehicle?! I totally agree with you, RoflWafls! How can TLG not include that very important location?! It is more important than this office TLG included! The place where the transport vehicle is very supposably stored (between the command center and the big radar dish) is exactly the place where there could have been the floor. We haven't seen the backside of the box - so there is at least a very small chance that there'll be a floor included. But I highly doubt it. What do you think? All in all I must say it's ok. The best element is surely the Antilles minifigure. At the moment I don't already know whether I'll buy it or not. It'll depend on whether there may be a floor included (which I highly doubt since otherwise TLG would have offered a pic of it or at least name it in the description) and mainly on how much it'll cost (for 150 Euros maybe, for more rather not). A theory behind the large box sizes
Klaus-Dieter replied to HumanPackMule's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Thank you very much for that information, Copmike! That's very interesting to know since I would have bet that they often use much larger boxes because of the interest these boxes should take in the customers. Nevertheless I think that this is still sometimes the case: e. g. only look at the 7749 Echo Base - the content and the box size are that much different that there surely would have been a smaller box already existing (e. g. the one of the Camper). Ok, thanks, legoindy01! I would really much like to see a new Cloud City, too, if it offers more rooms and more minifigs. And I bet that TLG will even offer one to us judging after the hint we got and the possibility anyway. But pics of it aren't to await before minimum Brickworld 2010 since it'll surely be the big summer/fall Exclusive. Pics of all the other sets of the first half of 2010 I do expect in the middle of August (like it was last year). But about what I do wonder is that we haven't heard - apart from the two Hoth BPs for SW and a new "Atlantic" theme absolutely any rumour about the first wave of 2010 sets. Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! I voted for 7898 R/C Cargo Train Deluxe but must say that it was a very hard decision to make since there are pros and cons for both sets: 4512 Cargo Train: Cons: -gold pieces - since when is gold transported with the train?! -mainly only very small wagons -no doors for the conductor to get inside the engine Pros: -9 V system - which I prefer over all other systems and mainly over RC/PF -bumper -diesel engine - goes imo with a cargo train much better than an electric engine 7898 R/C Cargo Train Deluxe: Cons: -electric engine for a cargo train -truck and car without doors Pros: -doors inside the engine -three additional vehicles for more play value -crane wagon -more cargo (although imo still too less) Klaus-Dieter

What're your favorite and least favorite Star Wars sets?
Klaus-Dieter replied to Loco de Lego's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I can't name you the only one best set since there are that many great SW sets, Go Cubs Go! But my four favourite SW sets (until now - we don't know what we'll get in the future) are: 8038 The Battle of Endor (don't own yet - but will buy it in fall) 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer 7754 Mon Calamari Star Cruiser (don't own yet - but will buy it in fall) 7666 Hoth Rebel Base But if you firstly want a small set or can't afford a big set than the 7749 Echo Base is fine, too! I hope I could help. Klaus-Dieter -
I'd like to see some new elements especially for civilian City: -watering can -hedge trimmer -pretzel -school rucksack -mobile telephone -laptop (in fitting size to minifigs) -city scooter -re-design of the cypris tree Klaus-Dieter
-
Perhaps I'm even a bit stupid but what's now the case - does this named site give us some info on next year's sets or not? Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, jonwil! From all sets which are available since today (we don't know what the future will bring) here are my favourites: City: 10184 Town Plan 7747 Wind Turbine Transport 7641 City Corner (don't own yet - but will buy it in fall) 6399 Airport Shuttle (but I regrettably don't own it) 10037 Breezway Cafe 10002 Railroad CLub Car 10001 Metroliner 4564 Freight Rail Runner (but I regrettably don't own it) 2126 Train Cars (but I regrettably don't own it) 10041 Main Street 4554 Metro Station (but I regrettably don't own it) 4555 Freight Loading Station (but I regrettably don't own it) 7636 Harvester Western/Indians: 6765 Gold City Junction 6799 Showdown Canyon 6764 Sheriff's Lock-up 6748 Boulder Cliff Canyon 6716 Weapons Wagon Star Wars: 8038 The Battle of Endor (don't own yet - but will buy it in fall) 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer 7754 Mon Calamari Star Cruiser (don't own yet - but will buy it in fall) 7666 Hoth Rebel Base Castle: 10193 Medieval Market Village 6081 King's Mountain Fortress 6090 Royal King's Castle (but I regrettably don't own it) Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! For me the choice is very simple: Since money lacks everywhere and train sets are next to big exclusvie (City) sets the most expensive sets anyway, I only own the awesome Metroliner (Legend version) (and the Classic Train - but I only use it for Western). And so it's even very clear for which system I go at the moment: 9 V. (Without force) I will never part with the lovely Metroliner and so I will even add it to my final City layout even if I until then perhaps had some PF trains. I plan to buy the City TRU Exclusive in next summer/fall which very supposably will be an elevated train. I'll then add it to my City center. So I'll have in my final City layout a mixture of 9 V tracks and PF/RC tracks anyway. But I think that the different systems (9 V and PF) will even get their own track circles since 1. a mixture in the same circle looks imo strange and 2. PF/RC tracks are much cheaper than 9 V tracks (so why should the PF trains run on 9 V tracks?!). But I think that 9 V tracks and PF/RC tracks fit passably whereas imo the blue tracks really don't go with the grey tracks. Klaus-Dieter

That's a very droll story, jansued! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Two objections about that, madoka: 1. Town/City is one of the four most popluar lines (Bionicle (don't ask me why ), City, SW, and Technic)and not one of the unpopular lines! 2. Only very few people can afford to buy five or more exemplars of every set - and the minifigs included in sets are nearly always much too less when you want to build up a huge and realistic layout like many of us AFOLs want to. So people buy minifigs seperately - independant from whether TLG sells them via PaB or some private people via some online shops. If TLG doesn't sell more different civilian minifigure parts via PaB people will buy these via Ebay (like me), BL or other online shops which sell Lego and so TLG would loose a lot of profit. These are the facts. Klaus-Dieter

I don't like that the printing is in English language - that's right. But more than that I dislike that there is a text (in which language it may ever be) anyway - it destroys imo the whole radiation the symbol of the classic OT SW has since it detracts from the symbol. According to the price of the RBR: I'm very sure that it'll be 150 Euros/Dollars - with only five minifigs and nearly no interior more than 150 Euros/Dollars would be usury for that set! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for that news, Oky Wan Kenobi! If it hadn't that English text under the picture I would buy it - but it regrettably has and so I won't buy it. Nevertheless it looks pretty good! Klaus-Dieter

Many more civilian minifig torsos and more minifig accessory is needed! And some more interior to be aible to build a complete house and some more car pieces would be great to have, too, in order to build a complete car like the lovely small one in 7747! So I would like to see following new additions to PaB: -brown, white and black horse -brown and black saddle (for the horses) -black bicycle (as for me every color but not pink or red!!!) -female torsos -black suit with black cravat torso (like the bus driver in 7641) -dark grey with black lines suit torso (like the conductor in the big minifigure collection) -medieval torsos -medieval "caps" (like the blacksmith and the old man in 10193) -fruit tree -black or white non-transparent door -cashpoint -sausage and ham -pizza -car doors -car ground plate -blue and grey kids trousers -skateboard -black and blue car pieces (to be aible to build a little civilian car in blue or black) -computer with key pad -regular (not ancient) letter (like the ones in the Post Van set) -all pieces you need to build the big fruit tree in 10193 and the big conifer in 10199 -skis and ski sticks -snowboard -iced-lolly -black and brown hat -pieces to build small and big ships -bigger round piece(s) (e. g. to built a 6x6 stuck big reservoir) -big round flat 6x6 plate (e. g. to built a 6x6 stuck big reservoir) -tools -1x1x1 round yellow transparent -2x2x1 white transparent (like in the classic street lights) -all pieces you need to build the street lights in 7641 -shoulder bag Thanks for reading. Thank you very much for that news, Oky Wan Kenobi! Of course nothing is excluded but I can't imagine that they'll show the new BPs there. I more think that they'll show the 10197 Fire Brigade there - and if we've got much luck (which I don't think) then perhaps even the awesome 10199 Christmas Cottage. I could even well imagine that they'll show one or two little Toy Story sets since some of the minifigs of these sets will be shown there anyway. I'm very sure that 10199 is the Christmas Cottage. An UCS Super Star Destroyer would imo make no sense and there are already enough big and expensive sets out this year. Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, Dr. Brick! If forester's house or hunter's house - there is imo not such a big difference. The most of the time this is even only a house where the forester or the hunter some days of the year residence - but not the whole year. Thanks, Fumoffu! About the paranoia hermit: Why not? Thank you very much for that news, einsteinonthebeach! So 1400 pieces - probably 150-200 Euros which is really enough for that set! Leia, C-3PO and R2-D2 are surely included. But if we've got bad luck we even don't get any new minifigure (such as Antilles) but a regular Rebel Trooper and a Stormtrooper. A silvern 3PO is imo totally excluded - although I really would like to get one. It's no fake, CloneCommmanderDelta7 - regrettably. I totally agree with you, darkrebellion! I really don't understand why TLG releases that a "small" RBR which offers nearly no interior and even includes only that less minifigures. This is the 10th anniversary of Lego SW and when the rumours came up of the Tantive 4 everybody was expecting something really great with about eight minifigs (including minimum two new minifigs) and a descent interior (cockpit, floor with blowing up door, engine room and control room (where Vader tortures Antilles)). I really don't understand why TLG focuses that much on exterior details - if someone is that interested in exterior details he or she can and should buy the UCS version! That's the money and these are the bricks which now are missing for more room and a descent interior! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, einsteinonthebeach! I think that if TLG reveals the RBR Saturday or Sunday next week at ComiCon then there'll be the date for pre-ordering the RBR perhaps on August 1 and it'll be shipped in the middle of September. What do you think? Btw: Does someone think that we'll get - apart from the two BPs which very supposably will be OT - a medium sized set for around 40-70 Euros/Dollars in the first wave of 2010? Perhaps a redesign of the Twin Pod Cloud Car? Or of the Slace 1? Or do you think that all the other ESB sets will then firstly be released in summer? Klaus-Dieter
