  1. I partly agree with you, darthperson! I can't imagine that the fire truck with boat and the fire helicopter will include any civilian minifigs since there surely won't be included more than two minfigs in each set of them. But in the fire station set I could imagine one or two civilians. I remember that when browsing through old catalogues some years ago I saw a fire station from the 80s where a civilian woman was included, too. And the fire ship might include one, too, which shall be saved. So why not now, too?! Nevetheless I think that it is totally unrealistic to believe that the fire ship will include an addional boat or a small harbor building which shall be eliminated. Otherwise it would be an awesome set - just imagine a fire ship with two fire men, a captain, a small depot with a worker!!! Klaus-Dieter
  2. Thanks, Rick! The thoughts behind the trees was to make the streets a bit more interesting and more friendly to look at. Always only everywhere tar bouldering does really look horrible. Plus - like you already metioned - the trees are good for the air. I think and hope that I'll expand my city center of Legostadt. That's even the reason because of which I'm that angry that we won't get any civilian sets like a bank, a hotel, a grocery, a post office and some other shops in (the first half of) 2010. The idea with the T-junction is great. In my final version the central station shall be placed in front of the park (in opposite to the cinema) and so of course a road connection to it is needed. Thanks, mikey! Since I do not know whom was complaining about that the fountain should be on a green baseplate I totally agreed after a while and thought that it would be even nice to have a whole small park in the center of the city. About the "undecirable characters": I wanted to create my city as realistic as possible - so ... I really hope that it'll grow, too!!! But this only depends on which civilian sets TLG will release - since (apart from the Hamburger Stall) I already own nearly all older sets I want to (have in Legostadt). Thanks, Big Cam! Yes, for me minifigs are the heart of every set and so even of every Lego layout and city. It was very expensive to buy all these minifigs (like the trees and the accessory for the park which were very expensive, too) but the minifigs included in the official sets are much too less. There shall life in Legostadt! Thanks, kabel! I totally agree with you - some new family houses are extremely needed!!! I already own the Paradisa villa and another weekend cottage - but I didn't include them in this layout of the city center of Legostadt since in the most of big cities you find family houses in the suburbs. Btw: Very late but nevertheless - welcome to EB, kabel! Thanks, Section8! I'm glad to here that you like it. You're right with the transporter: These old grey road baseplates offer regrettably a for the new 6 stuck wide cars to small traffic lane. Nevertheless I use them since 1. I had already bought a lot of them before TLG came with even great looking 6 stuck wide cars - and so I do not want to have a lot of money for now not using them, 2. because the new road baseplates are very expensive and the different versions (straight, curved, T-junction and X-junction) are regrettably not available seperately - and I mainly need straight roads, some X-juncitons, some few T-junctions but only very, very few curved roads and 3. since I simply like these old grey road baseplates much more than the new ones. My Main Street is the S@H version 10041. It does contain a woman with regular short black hairs (you can see her in the picture with the popcorn stand) - so not the old hairpiece with the braids - but it contains some stuff to complete the hotel. I don't want to talk bad about this additional stuff but 1. you can only complete the hotel when you do not build up the construction side since the pieces of the construtction side are needed, too, and 2. the interior you can build is really disappointing. That's even because I'm so much wanting a new big hotel with a decent interior. Klaus-Dieter
  3. I looked again at this list and noticed that there are three set numbers in between the first six sets and the Luke's Landspeeder set. So might it be that the first sets will belong to the regular January wave of SW sets whether Luke's Landspeeder might be a small exclusive set like e. g. this year's Ashoka's Starfighter? What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  4. It seems as if some people don't believe that the 3xxx sets will be regular City and not Duplo. The Duplo sets for the first half of 2010 were already mentioned here (they've got 5xxx numbers). Klaus-Dieter
  5. Thank you very much for that news, Copmike! That sounds interesting - but for my needs Ebay, PaB and Lego customer's service is much more handy. Klaus-Dieter
  6. Part 2: A demonstration is taking place in the center of Legostadt: Luckily there are enough policemen to keep it under control: There are some people which you do not necessarily want to have in your park but you trust them as long as they don't act up: The park is namely a place for the civilians to relax: E. g. you can in quietness read a newspaper or buy an ice cream: It is even a place for the family to make a getaway and a romantic place to meet your girlfriend: Not very far away form the park you can listen some street musicians: Some tourists are making photos and a marriage is taking place, too: "Mommy, I want that cool baseball cap!" Popcorn? Or better a pizza? Buon appetito! When you want to get into the city center of Legostadt you can use your car and park it in the park station or you go by bus: But upposably the fastest vehicles - because of the heavy traffic inside the city - are the bicycle and the skateboard: But where does all the energy for Legostadt come from?! Right, from the wind turbine - green energy! For tranpsorting it a special tranport vehicle is needed: Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. I hope you liked it. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  7. Now I want to proudly present you my city center of Legostadt (stand: August 12, 2009): Part 1: A view over the city center of Legostadt: From one side: And from the other side: There's a lot of going on in the center of Legostadt. So let's begin with the hardworking street cleaners keeping the city clean: But not only the street workers, even the construction men have a lot to do: The mails have to be delivered early and the fuel has to arrive at the petrol station: What can you do in the meantime? Perhaps cleaning the sidewalk or planting new flowers in the park: Part 2 will follow in the next minutes. Klaus-Dieter
  8. To the second wave of City sets (very supposably March and April): To the Big Airport: It very supposably won't be a bad set. But I already own an airport and although this one is from the mid-ninetees it is big enough. Only look at the new airplanes - they are that big that you would already need a complete room only to build up a realistic airport with runways etc. and I don't own a villa abd surely even won't in my whole life. To the Tank Truck: It surely will be very, very big. And I own the awesome 10184 Town Plan in which a tank truck is already included. To the Waterplane: If it was a small set like the waterplanes from the ninetees it would be awesome! But I bet and fear that it'll be very similar to the completely oversized police waterplane from last year. To the Car Repair: I can't imagine that this will be an additional set to this year's garage since we already have got a two tow-trucks this year. So I think that it'll be a vehicle with stuff to repair planes. This might be good or bad - only pics will show. To the Piglets Enclosure With Tractor: This will be surely the best City set for the first half of 2010! I'm really glad to see that TLG doesn't end the awesome Farm theme after one year - although there could imo more new sets made than only one. I think that it'll include a green 16x16 basplates, some fences, a feeding trough, two or three piglets, a farmer and a tractor. If we've got much luck we even will get a hanger for the tractor, some fodder for the piglets and perhaps even a child - that would be awesome! I even hope that the tractor will be in green color. This is the only set of the first half of 2010 City sets that I'll buy for sure (without having seen pics of it yet) since it already sounds amazing! As for the summer sets: There surely will be mainly "only" train sets. Please don't understand me wrong - I really like trains. But civilian sets would be much more necessary. Perhaps we've got much luck and there'll be one additional Town set in summer - like they added an additional Farm set to the first half of 2010 when there's only Fire and Airport. As for exclusive sets: We already know that there'll be that fan's choice set in summer. It surely will be amazing - and I bet that it'll be an elevated train. Apart from that there'll perhaps be another winter set in fall (if the brilliant 10199 sells well - but I have absolutely no doubts that it won't) and perhaps another smaller exclusive City set (like this year's awesome 7747). Besides I see no chance that we'll get more exclusive Town or City sets. Klaus-Dieter
  9. Some thoughts on the things that might be included in the 8092 Luke's Landspeeder set: Amazon says that it is (with package) 300 g weightly. The two BPs are each (with package) 100 g. Since the Rebel Trooper BP includes a vehicle that seems to be about that big as the Landspeeder but the whole set is only 1/3 that weightly than 8092 it's imo very likely that the Luke's Landspeeder set will not only include Ben, Luke and the speeder but even two Tuskens, a Bantha and some addiontal landscape - perhaps even Ben's hut and one of this little power plants (like in the Tusken Raider Encounter set from 2002) - that would be awesome! Klaus-Dieter
  10. Sorry for my perhaps a bit too extremely emotional comment. But I was really upset and angry - and still am (but now I calmed down a bit) - when I saw that TLG (nearly) only comes back with Fire and Airport instead of releasing some awesome civilian sets. Now again a short comment to the (very supposable) January City sets: To the Fire Helicopter: Surely nothing spectacular - only a remake of the last version. To the Big Fire HQ: I think that this is only wishful thinking. Of course this might be - but three bay doors are imo totally excluded plus we surely won't get that a detailed interior like in 10197. I think that we'll get a small fire car, a big fire truck with ladder, two garages, a tower, an office, a bedroom and a relarecreation room. To the Fire Truck With Boat: It surely will be nearly the same like the one from 2005 - only without ladder since a fire truck with ladder will surely appear in the HQ. To the Fire Ship: This might be a good set if it is in the range about 40-50 Euros since so TLG could design it similar to the fire boats from around 1980-1990. If it's like the awesome fire ship from 1990, closed on all sides and with great interior then I perhaps will buy it. To the City Runabouts: It very suppoably will be a civilian car very similar to this year's sport car - but with a roof. I hope that it will include car doors and will come with a female civilian - then I surely would buy two copies of it! Klaus-Dieter
  11. That might be well possible. At least there is the possibility to use this for gladiators, too. Nevertheless I wouldn't bet since in the past years there always have been elements in new sets and themes of which someone could guess that TLG might bring back an old or release a new theme since these elements would be very interesting for these themes, too - but nothing did happen. But on the other hand I can't imagine that with the big success of the Playmobil Roman theme Lego will not release a Roman theme in the next years. Klaus-Dieter
  12. Thank you very much for the pic, Raphy and Dano! This theme looks really  ! It's exactly the same like Power Miners - but in the sea instead of under the earth and with sea animals instead of earth monsters. How many fantasy-action themes such as Bionicle, Agents, Space Police, Power Miners and now that Atlantis TLG wants to do?! :hmpf: Did they in the last years ever think about bringing back an old theme (such as Western, Paradisa, Divers or Space Port) or releasing a new theme (such as Romans or Egypts) which is nice to look at nice to play with (like the current Pirates theme)?! I hoped for a comeback of the awesome Divers theme of the mid-nineties! :cry_sad: Klaus-Dieter
  13. I hope that the future of Lego City sets will show that your optimism is founded. I wish I could be that optimistic, too. Perhaps that sounds now very unfriendly (which it shouldn't be ) or stupid but: Yes, I did. Which sense did the survey Copmike asked us to fill in last July make when TLG does not think about releasing the sets their fans want but comes again with that already hundred times released sets?! :hmpf:  Plus the Town sets this summer - mainly 7747 and 7641 - were that awesome that I would have bet before sseing that disappointing list that there'll be only civilian themes and sets in 2010! :cry_sad: Klaus-Dieter
  14. Thank you very much for the news, Christian and TheCobra! You can read my comments to this news in the concerning topics. Only a very short comment for now: City - very disappointing! Star Wars - really ok! Atlantis - a seond Power Miners theme?! Klaus-Dieter
  15. I have to disagree with you, Ricecracker. At least here in Germany toy shops already have these sets in their frames - and in the customer's cataloge it is still listed, too. Legomilk did write "City train" and not "Trains" - so it'll be a City subtheme. Apart from that which different trains than Western (which is highly unlikely before we don't get a new Western theme) and City (to which steam trains are counted as well as electric engines) could you think of?! Firstly these sets all have the additional "name" "City" - so I would be very surprised if it was Duplo. Secondly there's already a new airport set out this September for Duplo - so another one in spring next year would make absolutely no sense. Klaus-Dieter
  16. I totally agree with you, Emperor Claudius Rome! At least here in Europe kids are much, much more interested in Romans (I, too, although I'm not a kid) than in Greeks. Klaus-Dieter
  17. Thank you very much for the news, Christian! I'm not interested in the Toy Story sets in general - but I perhaps will buy the set with the green plastic soldiers if it wasn't too expensive. Klaus-Dieter
  18. When you look at the list TheCobra posted in the News and General Discussions forum you can see that there shall be both sets - Luke's Landspeeder and a Freeco Speeder (link). Klaus-Dieter
  19. I have to disagree with you, The Cobra! For the most AFOLs (me included) one fire station with additional sets is sufficient - perhaps two if you want to display a really big city - but surely not more. JFOLs will never buy a second fire or police station. And for those which don't already own one - they would buy the older version from 2007, too, if it was in stock. So there is really no need for a new Fire theme! I regrettably have to disagree here, too, The Cobra! Legomilk mentioned in this topic that there'll be train sets for 2010. And I trust him. And since there are always only three subthemes for City every year and Trains if always a complete theme these three themes will be (when you take the division of sets like this year): (very supposably) January: Fire: Lego 7206 - City Fire Department helicopter Lego 7207 - City Fire Department Boat Lego 7208 - City Big Fire Department Station Lego 7213 - City fire fighting truck with boat Other: Lego 3177 - City city runabouts (very supposably) March: Other: Lego 7684 - City-enclosure piglets with tractor (Ferkel means "pig", Gehege should mean "corral") (very supposably) April or June: Airport: Lego 3178 - City seaplane Lego 3179 - City car repair Lego 3180 - City tank truck Lego 3182 - City Big Airport (very supposably) June: Trains: ??? (very supposably) August, July or September: Trains: ??? With a new Trains theme I see absolutely no chance to get some Town sets in 2010, too! :cry_sad: Klaus-Dieter
  20. Thank you very much for that news, Big Pete! It seems as if TLG really wants to sell a TIE Defender and not a regular OT TIE Fighter! I toally agree with you, Spyder and Mraz 'Skintas' - that would be awesome! At least we know have an (un)official confirmation that Luke's Landspeeder will be a real existing set and not only a rumor! Klaus-Dieter
  21. Thank you very much for this list, Christian! Reason for edit: I'm now really happy with this year's City sets - the small sets in the first half of 2010 and mainly the Train sets in the second half. Plus who knows which will even appear. So no more reason for complainment and please excuse my flared up comment which was written here before. Klaus-Dieter
  22. Congratulations, Erdbeereis! Klaus-Dieter
  23. Congratulations, Stash2Sixx! Klaus-Dieter
  24. Thank you very much for the additional pics, legomilk! Perhaps the chimney is big enough so that the light brick fits in the chimney. That would btw imo make the most sense and be even the most supposably since we can't see the light brick in action on the official box art. What do you think there'll be for interior? Klaus-Dieter
  25. I totally agree with you, WookieWarrior! Another Snowspeeder would be totally useless and boring since there would be absolutely no new minifigure included which we haven't already been seeing in the last three years. But a Landspeeder would open the possibility to get a Bantha and some Tusken Raiders which have been appearing until now in no OT set! Klaus-Dieter
