  1. Power Miners and Agents have two waves this year. So I think that it is and there won't be more sets next year. Since there are so many people which want elves (which I personally do really not understand) I bet that we'll see an elven theme in the "Castle" line next year. Since there are so many people been interested in that fantasy stuff (me excluded) it would be a big fault if TLG releases no new "Castle" sets in 2010. I totally agree with you, Sandy! Every year that many new themes which are more or less the same than the themes from the years before (e. g.: Where is the big difference between Mars Mission and Space Police?! Or between Exoforce and Power Miners?! ) I'd like to see more long-living themes, too! Instead of releasing such many licensed themes next year and supposably a theme similar to the last ugly Aquazone theme TLG should better release more City sets and some new Wild West sets! Klaus-Dieter
  2. That's a great and big Castle, Sandy! I really it! It looks impressive - especially those very realistic towers. The most I like the backsmith' shop and the little room for the blacksmith. Some more interior, some minifigs and some accessory would resurrect your Castle! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  3. Hello everybody! I couldn't find a topic similar to this one. So I decided to open a new one. If there is already a topic about this subject somewhere please delete mine - thanks. Here is the question/content: Which already existing elements would you like to be sold via PaB (and so be perhaps available in LDD, too)? I personally would like to see many more minifig parts and minifig accessory: The product line of minifig parts and accessory seems to me to be a bit at random since there are some minifig torsos of which you need only very few or even none (e. g. the street cleaner's torso, the two Space Police torsos and the torso from Spongebob) and even minifig accessory which do not go with the minifigs available in PaB/LDD (e. g. a medieval back carrier and a lot of medieval weapons but no single medieval torso, no buckler, no helmet or other medieval headgear and no horse) and there are some minifig parts which don't suffice to build a whole complete minifig (e. g. there are four female hair pieces but no single female torso). Because of these reasons I'd like to see: -at least two female City torsos -medieval torsos -horse(s) -medieval headgears, helmets, sword(s) and bucklers -banknotes -gold pieces -fruit tree -guns -revolvers -hats -grey and blue pants for kids -pieces for building a brick-built tree (like in 10193 or 10199) Please share your thoughts. Klaus-Dieter
  4. I totally agree with you, Justin and natelite! These would be very nice doors - especially for seperating a living room from the rest of a big family house or as doors to the terrace/garden. Which I'd like very much TLG producing is this element: Door Frame 1x8x6 (the same one like for the regular doors but that two doors can fit in it) to built even a double door (which is with the now common elements not possible - or you always have that door frame between the two doors which is firstly unrealistic and secondly looks very bad) Klaus-Dieter
  5. Hello everybody! Some months ago I built following green grocery with LDD: Grocer's Shop You need some vegetables, some fruits, some bread, some meat or some cheese? Everything that you can get in the little grocer's shop! But be careful that you don't buy too much because then your bag may burst! This set includes a little grocer's shop with bowes for fruits and vegetables, a counter for the meat and cheese, a little cupboard with a scale, a grocer, a mother and her little son and a lot of food. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  6. That's a great and very interesting topic, just2good! I think that Agents and Power Miners will end in 2010 since they already have two waves this year. And since there are that many new licensed themes next year TLG has to reduce the number of non-licensed themes and sets. But the most important is that City (with new themes), Star Wars OT (with some ESB sets) and Pirates (which I don't buy but it's nevertheless great to see these lovely sets) will stay! Klaus-Dieter
  7. That's right, Justin, but it regrettably doesn't mean anything. The head-gear for the Ninja in the minifigure collection number two was re-released, too, but nevertheless no reintroducement of the Ninja theme. So I'd say: The fact that the cowboy hat appears here does only mean that TLG still owns the mold - but it says nothing about the possibility of a new Western theme - regrettably. Here is a new idea for a Western set: Sick Bay Tent 20-25 Euros The Western army is in battle against a big gang of bandits. So it's no wonder that some soldiers even get hurt. But no problem - luckily there is a little sick bay tent at the camp where a doctor and a nurse are looking after them! a little white tent (interior: divan bed and chair) and a little landscape with some rocks and a big flag of the soldiers includings some little barrels and boxes filled with medicine, some weapons and a horse minifigs: injured soldier, doctor, nurse and bandit Klaus-Dieter
  8. Congratulations, Hinckley! I very supposably will never come to America (and so even not to Legoland California) but there will be surely someone who can take some pictures of the great models you are building and show these pics here to us. Klaus-Dieter
  9. Thanks, Emperor claduis rome! No, I won't make one with real bricks since there the parts don't exist like in LDD (legionnaire's helmet, red buckler and a backpack with many holders). Thanks, SWMAN! I totally agree with you, SWAM! The parts for minifigs in LDD seem to me be selected totally randomly and with no system. Klaus-Dieter
  10. Hello everybody! With the very limited bricks available in LDD for historical sets I designed with LDD a Roman legionnaire. Here you are: Roman Legionnaire Pieces: 17 The Roman legionnaire is on his long way across the mountains with his many package. This set includes a Roman legionnaire, a brick-built backpack, a buckler, an axe, a shovel, a sword and two lances. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  11. You're welcome. But this address doesn't work - I always get the message: Address not found! Klaus-Dieter
  12. Limes I know not. Tumblers are large drinking glasses, a rucksack is a soldier's pack, a buckler is a small round shield, and a conifer is a pine tree. Thanks, Hound Knight. @ Emperor claduis rome: The Limes was the boarder between the northern part of the Roman Empire (today's South and Middle Germany) and the area where German tribes lived (today's North Germany). It consisted in its early time of palisades and watch towers made out of wood, later of walls and watch towers made of stone. Here is a new set idea: Battle of the Teutoburg Forest 40-50 Euros Play the battle between the Roman legionnaires and the barbarians! Let the legionnaires pass the dark track with the swamp on the one side and the rocks on the other side! Suddenly the barbarians jump out of their hide-out. Who will win - the Romans or the barbarians? a landscape with a track in the middle, a swamp with some scrubs and trees on the left side and some rocks on the right side including a lot of weapons (no war machines such as catapults etc.!) minifigs: centurion, two legionnairs, barbarian chief, two barbarians Klaus-Dieter
  13. The price of 60 Euros/Dollars is imo justified since this is an awesome set! And when you compare 7747 to last year's CG Platform (for which the regular price was 70 Euros for nearly nothing) then it's more than ever justified. Of course 70 would be too expensive - but it isn't 70 Euros/Dollars (until now). Klaus-Dieter
  14. That's an awesome City MOC, Eilif! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic! Perhaps grey would have been better as color - but I think that these elements even don't exist in grey. Otherwise it's perfect! With some little improvements I could very well see your MOC being an official set - if so I immediately would buy it since it's a shame that TLG doesn't ofer us any industrial sets! Very, very well done! BTW: What are these yellow bricks on top of the plant? I can't remember having ever seen them. Klaus-Dieter
  15. Thank you very much for that great review, Getsome! I ordered my first exemplar (yes, I'll buy another one in late summer or fall) on Wednesday and already got it yesterday (with the gratiy chrome gold minifig key ring). So I built it up yesterday night. I voted for Outstanding  since this set is simply outstanding and imo not only one of the best City sets of this year but one of the best City sets ever! Cons: -no tools for the four boxes in the transporter -wind power plant should be taller Pros: -set to make "green" energy and to show how important this is and will be -both cars include car doors -transporter looks very realistic -escort vehilce looks that lovely -wind power plant looks awesome Of course this wind power plant can't be compared to the Vestas one since the Vestas one was much taller, included that lovely hill with the bench and the foliage plants, the service vehicle and the lovely cottage with the sun terrace. But we should get away from always only comparing 7747 with 4999 since these two sets are totally different: In 4999 the main focus is (since it is a promo set for the Vestas company and first of all not a set for FOLs) on the wind power plant and on the cottage - in 7747 the main focus is on the tthe transporter and on the servie vehicle (since it is a set mainly designed for kids). The transporter and the service vehicle are perfectly designed and can imo be used in all our Lego Cities (TLG even didn't forget to include car doors in both vehicles!). The wind power plant isn't very tall - but it is even not tiny. When you put it somewhere on your layout where there aren't that big houses (e. g. next to a field and the new farm - where it would btw fit the best anyway) then it even doesn't look that small. And what concerns the lovely cottage in 4999: Since TLG asked their fans for input for new City sets last year and since one of the most demanded sets was a family house I bet that TLG will offer some family houses to us next year or in 2011. To put it in a nutshell: Imo TLG did a great job with this set since it combines playability (which is mainly important for JFOLs and therefore even for the success of this set) and a "green" power plant (which is supposably more interesting for AFOLs). And I'm very, very glad that TLG offers us the opportunity to get this outstanding set since I can't afford the Vestas set! Thank you very much, TLG! More "green" sets and more outstanding City sets in general on! Klaus-Dieter
  16. Limes 40 Euros Defend the boarder of the Roman Empire! - a wall piece - a wall piece with a gate - a watch tower (first floor: entrance and weapons chamber, second floor: little recreation room and canopied balcony around the whole tower) including a barrel, a chicken leg, two tumblers, two horses, a torch, many weapons minifigs: centurion, two legionnaires, two barbarians Roman Implse Set 3 Euros Enlarge your Roman army! including a rucksack with two holders (in order to annex something), a buckler, a lance, a sword and a shovel minifig: legionnaire Barbarian Impulse Set 3 Euros Enlarge your Barbarian army! including a round buckler, a battleaxe, a sword and a conifer minifig: barbarian Klaus-Dieter
  17. That's a totally amazing MOC, marcosbessa! I really it! It is full of details and looks absolutely realistic! The most I like the big flowerpots, the yellow curtains and the artful decorations around the windows. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  18. Thank you very much for that great review, Copmike! I voted for Outstanding since it is simply outstanding! :oh: Cons: - too big A-Wing Fighter - not the ship as whole but "only" three locations - price (romors say 120 Euros - imo too 20 Euros too much!) Pros: + five new minifigs + three locations + very realistic looking + awesome minifigure constellation I'm really looking forward to buy this set since I will buy this awesome set! Klaus-Dieter
  19. That's a great Western MOC, 74louloute! I really like it! It looks very realistic and well built. The most I like how you put the gun and the hat on the wall. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  20. These are great ideas, paanjang16! Some more harbour are always welcome! And a double decker bus would be great! I totally agree with you, just2good! The Maratima theme from around 1991 was awesome! I wish TLG releases more maritime sets - cargo as well as passenger transportation! I totally agree with you, Tom Bricks! A yacht would be awesome and a pleasure cruiser would be simply outstanding! But I don't see a pleasure cruiser being released for 100 Dollars/Euros since this is too cheap that TLG can make profit with it - or it would be only very small, with nearly no interior and only a very small number of minifigs and accessory - and do you want that?! I hope not. But I think that for 150-200 Euros/Dollars it is realistic (comparison: the last cargo harbor was 80 Euros)! Hopefully TLG will release a big pleasure cruiser in about the size of the last cargo harbor but with much interior, many minifigs and nice accessory next year or at the latest in 2011! That would be awesome!!! I partly agree with you, Justin! On the one hand I disagree since I really don't like that big 8 stuck wide planes since they simply need much too much space and even look a bit <insert that tiresome argument>. On the other hand I agree with you since I really would like to see a beechcraft starship, too, but more as some sort of private plane - that would be great! Klaus-Dieter
  21. So no pics of and even not at least some information on the 10198 Tantive 4?! That's too bad! Everybody was so much waiting for Brickworld in order to see the RBR! And now TLG didn't publish any information or pics! That's really unfair and frustrating! Hopefully it won't be like in 2007 when we saw pics of the Motorized AT-AT only very short (I think about two weeks or so) before its release! Klaus-Dieter
  22. It's great to see so many people being interested in this topic! Thanks for voting and for your very interesting comments so far! I of course voted for more "own" themes! It's not that I hate licensed themes. In contrary I'm a big Star Wars fan (but only OT and PT, no CW and all that other stuff) and so buy even a lot of Lego OT sets. But that's the only licensed theme of which I buy sets. I don't say that TLG should immediately stop releasing licensed sets - that would be as stupid as to say that they should stop releasing "own" sets. But I think that TLG should look more on the quality of those movies they want to make sets about: Star Wars, Toy Story, Harry Potter and Spider Man are movies of high quality and with even a given demand behind them. But movies and so even Lego themes like Sponge Bob or Ben 10 are imo simply stupefaction for kids hanging around in front of the TV and they are even pure rip-offs. Apart from that Lego is a toy that should help kids to create their own world and develop their fantasy. With licensed themes the absolute opposite is is achieved since kids then only re-play the scenes from the movies. But not for kids but even for adults the possibility for playing different scenes with sets is very limited since you always think about the scenes of the movie and so don't play something other. In contrary "own" themes offer nearly endless possibilites for play and imagination. In general I nevertheless wouldn't have problems with (more) licensed sets since when you don't want to you even don't have to buy them. But (like I already mentioned in the first post of this topic) the main problem with licensed sets is that they take away the chance to get other non-licensed sets since TLG's production capacity if not unlimited. So when there are a lot of new licensed themes included in one year (e. g. next year when we'll see minimum four licensed themes) this means that we'll be getting much less "own" themes. Because of that e. g. next year we'll supposably only see one new "own" theme - namely something similar to Aquariders. And that's which really disturbs me: licensed themes at the expense of "own" themes! There are that many themes possible which either TLG hasn't been producing before at all (e. g. Romans) or themes which TLG didn't bring to an end - meaning where there would have been much more potential which TLG exhausted and where now a lot of sets are missing - (e. g. Western and Indians) or themes which already appeared but which could be done totally different (e. g. Egypts not as part of an Adventure theme but as a historical theme)! So why doesn't TLG release some of them?! Plus every new theme but even every comeback of an old theme offers a lot of new elements, characters and locations and therefore a lot of potential. Klaus-Dieter
  23. I'm really not sure about that, Emperor claduis rome. There are already four new licensed themes next year - there haven't been that a huge number of new licensed themes in one year be released before. Pluy we'll get that "Atlantik" theme. That makes five new themes in total. I'm already surprised that TLG has the capacity to produce that many new sets. But for another theme I regrettably see no chance. Klaus-Dieter
  24. Having seen a picture of a SW OT chess MOC here I had an idea: Since there was that huge Castle chess last year and this year is the 10ths anniversary of Lego SW: Do you think that TLG will surprise us with a SW chess? I personally don't think so because of the high costs of the many minifigs. And I even hope that we won't get one since I surely wouldn't be aible to afford it anyway. Klaus-Dieter
  25. Hello everybody! In the last months many news about many new licensed themes for next year was published - for 2010 there will be (Duplo) Cars, Toy Story 1-3, Prince of Persia and Ben 10. So 2010 will supposably be the first year that TLG is releasing that many licensed themes in one year. The pro of more licensed themes: There are many FOLs which know all these movies and like to play with the characters and vehicles now been made out of Lego. The con of more licensed themes: Since TLG has only a limited capacity of producing different themes and sets there is a maximum limit for different themes. This means that when there are such many licensed themes released there is not much space left for "own" - meaing by TLG itself invented - themes. So the question arises whether you (would) like to see more licensed themes - such as Toy Story, Ben 10, ... - or whether you would like to see more "own" (meaing by TLG itself invented) themes - such as a new Western theme, a Roman theme, a new Adventure theme, ...? Please vote and share your thoughts about this subject! Klaus-Dieter
