That's an absolutely amazing MOC, Matija Grguric! I really it! The details are stunning and it looks absolutely realistic! The most I like the fountain, the entrance and the glass dome! Very, very well done! Btw: You didn't include some interior, did you? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, Kernow! I voted for Above Average Cons: - no car doors - red color (black or blue would imo have been more realistic) Pros: - great design of the car - fruit tree - great designed emergency phone box - brilliant and very well fitting minifigure If the car included car doors I'd have voted for Outstanding! Nevertheless it's a great addition to every City and a good thing in order to populate the streets with not only emergency vehicles. I'll buy two of it. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, alex54! I voted for train-tacular! since this train is imo the best passenger train TLG has been releasing until now  and it is simply  ! - awesome minifigs - many minifigs - amazing exterior design - real doors which can be opened - well-done interior design - many accessory - awesome platform - includes everything which a brilliant speed train has to include: "regular" passenger wagon, toilet, sleeping wagon, "snack bar", two cockpits, brick-built motor and frieght room! I luckily bought this set in 2003, still own it and will surely not sell it (unless I'm forced to do so)! Klaus-Dieter

Train Tips: Building a Classic Train Wagon
Klaus-Dieter replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Well you're right: with a bigger passenger wagon it would work. Klaus-Dieter -
Any Idea When the Next Pirate Sets will be announced?
Klaus-Dieter replied to Dr. Steve's topic in LEGO Pirates
I think they'll be announced at the same time like last year - meaning between end of July and middle of August. Anyway I don't think that there'll be that many sets like this year: very supposably a ship for the soldiers, perhaps a bigger treasure island, perhaps an additional building to this year's harbor/fort and perhaps some sort of Pirates minifigure collection (like in former times) with two pirates, two soldiers, a parrot, a monkey, a shovel, some weappons, a treasure box and some gold pieces. In principle I don't care since I don't collect any Pirates sets and so will even not buy these. But the new Pirates sets look simply that that I'm very excited what TLG will release next year! Klaus-Dieter -
You keep all your MOCs built up?! I wish I could do that, too. But in the last years I always took photos of the most of my MOCs so I can at least look at the photos. And btw: My strict opinion agianst 6 stuck wide vehicles changed: When the cars are very well and precsiley deisgned and are in reality much bigger than regular cars it's ok. There are even some pros of 6 stuck wide vehicles: E. g. the Helicopter Transporter would look bad if 4 stuck wide and the truck of the Truck & Forklift set could only fit very small pallets. Nevertheless I still prefer the nice little lovely 4 stuck wider vehicles - such as the lovely white escort vehicle in the awesome 7747 Wind Turbine Transport set. Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, Gouns! It's 47,24 Euros. But if TLG released it (of course overworked and with better minifigs and with stickers) I'd buy it nevertheless since I really, really would like to get an official Lego Store (or at least a toy shop)! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, Matn! Do you think that we'll therefore even get some Harry Potter sets next year or do you think that there'll be only that game but Harry Potter will not appear as a "new" theme? I personally don't hope so since I'd like to see at least one new own theme of TLG next year since there'll already be that Cars, Prince of Persia, Toy Story 1-3 and Ben 10 licenses . Klaus-Dieter

I partly agree with you SWMAN and Matteo Kenobi. Of course you're right: The last Cloud City did only include a bit of everything but nothing complete. And so some complete rooms seperated by walls and doors would be neccessary to make the new set more attractive than the last version! But imo only the carbonite freezing chamber would be bad! There are so many more locations which are imo very important and which really should not miss: the "balcony" where Vader cuts off Luke's right hand, the room with the round window which breaks when Luke falls through it, the room where Darth Vader waits for the Rebel in order to "have a drink with them" plus a corridor (at the best even with a little glas-elevator) (and perhaps even the torture chamber and/or the prison cell). But I'm aware that these are too much wishes for a 150-250 Euro/Dollar set. And something in the similar price class like the DS is for me absolutely unaffordable. Klaus-Dieter

So here an update of the themes with new sets for 2010 (partly confirmed, partly only thougts): Duplo Creator Belville? Cars (new licensed Duplo theme - already confirmed) Technic Ferrari? Racers Castle? Elves theme? City train sets exclusive fans' choice set (already confirmed): either City Square or Public Transportation Center beach theme (with new minifigures of the Robo Attack set)? exclusive train set(s)? Indiana Jones? Toy Story 1-3 (already confirmed) Prince of Persia (already confirmed) Power Miners? Bionicle Space Police Pirates Greeks or Factory Western set(s)? CC styled building Star Wars some ESB sets many CW sets exclusive big OT set (very supposably Cloud City) UCS set? Ben 10 (already confirmed) Multimedia and Games Rock Band (only game or even sets?) Harry Potter (only game or even sets?) Others and Accessory Klaus-Dieter

I today finally decided to not buy this minifigure collection. Of course it's awesome - that can't be denied. But since I have no use for the imperial soldier and the spaceman 15 Euros for three minifigs (black falcon knight, chef and Western soldier) are for me too much since I already really need this money for all these excellent sets (you can see in my signature) I aim to buy. And btw: If TLG releases a new Western theme (which I really hope - but regrettably highly doubt) we'd surely get some (new) Western soldiers anyway - so why now spending a huge amount on this special one?! Klaus-Dieter

That's a totally awesome MOC, BrickBox! I really it! This fire engine (finally a German one after the so many other ones already seen brick-built! ) looks absolutely realistic and the exterior as well as its interior are stunning! The only thing which I miss are some car doors in the front. Otherwise it's perfect. The most I like the interior and all that much accessory you added to it. Very, very well done! And btw: Very, very late but nevertheless: Welcome to EB! (I hope I didn't already mention that - but with the many new memebers joining EB week for week you partly loose the overview. ) Klaus-Dieter

That's a great MOC, Ricecracker! I really it! You tried to design it as realistic looking as possible - and did a very good job with that! The only thing which I miss are some car doors in the front but even backwars. Otherwise it's perfect. The most I like the very realistic looking crawlers. If you overworked it that could make a great official set! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Train Tips: Building a Classic Train Wagon
Klaus-Dieter replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Train Tech
That's a great and very useful topic, TheBrickster! Although I don't think that there's first and second class included in one and the same wagon I find your tips very helpful! If I've got time the next weeks I'll perhaps try to design a classic train car with your instruction in LDD and then will show it here. Thanks for the tips! Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for your nice comments, StirkerTM, Jvvv, BlueBard and Zorro! Thanks, StrikerTM! I'm really looking forward to see how it'll look like. If you want to use my instructions you only have to search for "Klaus-Dieter" on LegoFactory. Thanks, Jvvv! It took a while until I had this thought how to build the PaB wall. It's great to hear that you like it! Thanks, Bluebard! I actually wanted to create a building which would fit very well in the line of City Life so you can add it easily to eat in order to create a bigger street scene. Thanks, Zorro! Of course they sleep in the store since this is a "modern" Lego Store: 24 hours open all the day, 7 days the week. But the employees are "kindly" allowed to have a break and sleep a short while during this time. (I know, this went perhaps a bit too sarcastic, but it's the situation on our "forward-looking" economy.) I simply wanted to add some interior to the attic since I was very disappointed when I noticed that there's no interior in the attic of the pizzeria in the great 7641 City Life set. Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! This evening I designed a new LDD MOC: Lego Store Pieces: 230 You want to get the newest S@H Exlusive or you simply search for some special bricks?! Then the Lego Store is the right place where you can find these! This set includes a Lego Store (1st floor: cash point, shelves and PaB wall, 2nd floor: frames with Lego sets, 3rd floor: bedroom with bed and little cupboard), some Lego set boxes, a saleswoman, a girl and a boy. One more picture with the seperate floors (system like in the great 7641 City Life set) can be found in this folder of my BS gallery (when public). Comments are welcome! Please take a look at my last LDD MOC - Bank Robbery -, too and let me know how you like it. Thank you very much. Klaus-Dieter

Top 10 Star Wars minifig favourites
Klaus-Dieter replied to Commander Assassin's topic in LEGO Star Wars
That's a great and very interesting topic, Clone Commander Assassin! Here are my choices (since I do only collect OT there are even only OT minifigs): Rebels: Admiral Ackbar Endor Rebel Trooper Mon Mothma K-3PO Endor Leia Imperials: Imperial Navy Trooper/DS Trooper Imperial Shuttle Pilot Sandtrooper Grand Moff Tarkin Snowtrooper Klaus-Dieter -
Sorry, alexrider7! I don't understand why I wrote your name wrong. I totally agree with you, Jammiedodger714! I, too, hope that it will include a decent interior! But it will depend on its size and price. Since we can because of different prices for Lego sets not convert Jens into Euros or Dollars it is finally not yet out how expensive it'll be. If it's about the price and size of the Republic Cruiser you can forget all interior - but then I very supposably will even not buy it! If it's about the same price like the AT-OT set there is a chance that we'll get an only very little downsized version of the UCS one with some decent interior. If it's gif enough I could imagine TLG including a little cockpit for two minfigs, a little corridor with blasting door, a little room with two or three seats, some displays and a table and a little room with the escape pod inside - and I am really hoping that TLG will include these interiors! A gangway would be a perfect addition but I fear that TLG won't include one since they funnily enough seem to have a aversion to gangways. As for the minifigs I think we won't get that many: Leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Rebel Trooper and Captain Antilles. Still two and half a week to wait! but I think that's possible! Klaus-Dieter
-
I totally agree with you, Darth Bug! The minifig-scaled Super Star Destroyer should include: - a big commando bridge with many different Imperial Officers - Darth Vader's meditation room with a hologram of the emperor - his room with the motor for putting on his helmet (like in the minifig-scaled ISD) - a corridor with some doors which can be opened to the different rooms minifigs: Darth Vader, Mouse Droid, several different Imperial Officers in dark-grey suits but even in black suits, two Imperial Navy Troopers But since there'll be already two big ships this year (OT: Tantive 4, CW: Venator) and since TLG seems more to concentrate on CW and so reduces the number of OT sets enormously and since it is very supposably that we'll get a big exclusive Cloud City set next year I highly doubt that. Klaus-Dieter

With the point that carnival isn't that known all around the world you are supposably right (here in Germany it is known since we celebrate carnival, but e. g. in the US there is only Halloween). But nevertheless I think that this was a really good choice since it is something excpetional and to be honest I must say that I really do not understand why you didn't get more votes and won one of the three prizes (I gave one vote to you ) - it only would have been right! Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, mustaine32! I of course prefer 4504 since this is imo the best version TLG has been releasing until now! 7190 This versions was nice, too, but included nearly no interior. 7778 This version is imo useless since it does not fit for minifigs - you can only use it as standalone. 10179 This version is imo useless, too, and even usury since it is totally overdetailed but has nevertheless no interior plus its price is utopian. Klaus-Dieter

That's a very huge and awesome City layout, alex54! I really it! There are a lot of great official sets included of different decades which look really beautiful! Although I'm really no fan of mixing official sets with MOCs I must say that your MOCs fit well with the official sets and the interior of them - mainly of the newer ones - is really beautiful. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for clarifying that, ADHO and alexrider15! So we're supposably discussing about next year's exclusive summer set, don't we? I totally agree with you, KimT! The Tantive 4 is - let's say - the highlight (or at least I hope so - perhaps it even turns out as a set similar to the RC which was much too small and included no interior ) of this year's OT sets. So another very big OT set would firstly be not affordable for many of us (me included) and secondly it would destroy the (hopefull) charm of the RBR. For 2010 I could well imagine (and even hope) that TLG will release a better and more detailed re-design of the Cloud City set in the price range around 250 Euros/Dollars (I hope that it won't be more since otherwise I could regrettably (like the awesome 10188 DS) not afford to buy it): 1. Cloud City is one of the two most important locations in ESB. 2. The second most important location - the Hoth Rebel Base - will regrettably surely not appear in 2010 since we already get that Echo Base BP this year. 3. The third big set I can think of TLG could release of ESB (a Rebel Medium Transport is absolutely excluded) is an ISD - but since we'll already get a big vehicle this year (the RBR) I bet that next year there'll be a big set which is not based on a vehicle but on a location. 4. The last version of the Cloud City was because of several reasons imo really bad. A new version would open up the possibility for improvements: The rooms were not completely seperated but they were all more or less one whole big room. In a new version TLG could and even should make real seperated rooms. There were some very important rooms missing which TLG could include in a new version: the room where Leia, Han and Chewy wait for Lando, the torture chamber where Han is tortured and a big corridor with elevator. There were only two new minifigs: Lando and a Bespin Guard. Of course these have to be included in a new version, too, but one or two of these little creatures which handle the carbonite freezing machine (I think they're called Ughunauths) are absolutely needed. And Lobot with a Cloud City Car would be a great addition, too. Klaus-Dieter

Klaus-Dieter replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Town

EBCTC Voting Booth (Eurobricks Staff category)
Klaus-Dieter replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Town
These are all three great entries! But finally I voted for Hinckley's Washington Street since 1. I really like the idea of a bank. 2. the architecture is brilliant! 3. the number and combination of minifigs and accessory if perfect and totally realistic for an official set! 4. it has an absolutely official looking style! Klaus-Dieter
