  1. Thank you very much for this news, Penitent Tangent, NavyTrooperFenson and rockinkurt13! Only one week away on holiday and there is so much news here! An additional comment to the Landspeeder: I really hope that the information that it will include Luke, Ben, C-3PO, R2-D2 and a Sandtrooper is wrong! This minifigure combination would imo be really bad since: 1. R2-D2 and C-3PO are not absolutely necessary in this set - they only increase the set price 2. only one Sandtrooper does make absolutely no sense - for the control scene there at least have to be two - and then this could even be enlarged to get the whole Mos Eisley Cantina scenery with Greedo and Han (like in 2004) 3. this minifigure list would mean that we won't get Tusken Raiders and a Bantha - which would fit much better and are much more necessary. Klaus-Dieter
  2. That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! I of course prefer a complex layout since it offers more playability and more realism and simply looks much better. But since the regular town/city sets are for me more important than the train sets - which does not mean that I'm not interested in train - in contrast I really like trains and surely will buy some more train sets in the future - I will never have that much place to build up a complex layout. Nevertheless two train stations, a small cargo train station and about three trains are necessary for every bigger and better city layout anyway. Klaus-Dieter
  3. This is a great town layout, TheBrickster! I really it! I really like to see that you now finally bought the awesome 10184 Town Plan - it has to be included in every great town layout. The only advise I want to give you is to add the stickers to it - especially the cinema looks much better with stickers! Although I really do not like these CC styled buildings I must admit that the Cafe Corner looks quite good at the location where you put it - esp. with the trees in front. Imo the farm does not fit that well in this layout since you built up a downtown area. Why didn't you place the classic Main Street where now there is the farm? I really like the roundabout with the cypres trees (of which I sadly own none - and these are that expensive when you want to buy them ) and the fountain. And I even like that you added a lot of trees in general - it makes your otwn looking much more friendly. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  4. That's an awesome entry, Selander! I really it! The engine and the waggons look very realsitic! Imo the blue and black cars and the engine should include doors. But otherwise it's perfect! The most I like the engine itself and the DB container waggon. If you included more accessory, some doors to the cars and the engine and some more minifigs this could well be an official Lego set which I really would like! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  5. Thank you very much for this great review, Panda9001100! I voted for Above Average Con: -the platform is too small -only very few minifigs -the seats in the passenger car should be in one line Pros: -the exterior looks very realistic -the interior is perfect - mainly the one in the dining car where the bar and the tables look even better than in the awesome Metroliner Klaus-Dieter
  6. This is a great and interesting topic and poll, TheBrickster! This was really a hard decision to vote for the one favourite since all three buildings are brilliantly designed: -the garage with the perfect exterior design, the roller gates, the big round window, the glas counter with food in it and the many accessory included -the town hall with the perfect exterior design, the flower beds, the street lamp and the town plan - but the interior is too simple and too less But I finally voted for the Theater since: -its exterior design is perfect (mainly the lights, the display panels, the ticket selling points and the stickers with the different movies shown on them) -the interior is amazing with the little food stand, the chewing gum machine, the movie camera and the seats with the screen I'm really, really glad that I own this  set - not only the cinema but all three buildings, the vehicles, the fountain and the minifigs - since it is really needed for every great city layout! Hopefully TLG will release a set similar to this one in the next years, too, then with a hotel, a street cafe and a shop or office building plus a taxi station and a small playground - that would be ! Klaus-Dieter
  7. That would be a very nice idea, David Thomsen! I only fear that TLG would make it too huge and design it too juniroized (like e. g. that totally oversized green dumper truck some years ago). These are brilliant and totally ideas, David Thomsen! With the great farm sets this year and the one next year a farmhouse is so much needed in order to build up a complete farm! I totally agree with you, David Thomsen! Some civilian houses are really, really needed - and a hotel or motel, too! I totally agree with you, Richie! A new elevated train is really needed, too! And I really hope that TLG will release one as the fan's choice set in next summer. Btw: Do you know how this elevated train can drive on these "brick-built" tracks? These are great ideas, Dr Kilroy! A bank, a post office and apartment and family houses are needed very much! But I would not like them to be CC styled! This is a great idea, Bachus! A fast food restaurant - esp. when it would include a drive in - would be awesome! Btw: Welcome to EB, Bachus! Klaus-Dieter
  8. I totally agree with you, Piranha! A camping theme would be great! (With TLG releasing the camper this year I even thought that we'll surely see a whole seaside/beach/camping theme this year. Instead of this TLG comes back again with boring Fire and Airport. ) To have a portage which can be set together how you like it (like this year's Pirates harbor in the Pirates theme) is a great idea, Ricecracker! These would be brilliant and totally sets, Ricecracker! Klaus-Dieter
  9. Thanks, Mariko! Thanks, SalvoBrick! Nice to hear that you like the old grey roadplates, too. Imo these have been the best road plates til now. And since I don't like these CC styled buildings (mainly because of their (closed) back walls) I do not buy them and so there are even none in my layout. Thanks, Zzz! Imo there mainly have to be older styled buildings in the center of a city layout. To your questions: 1. Yes, I plan to expand in the country side. I already bought the wind turbine transport, the tractor, the harvester and the farm set (but which I haven't built up until now) and even plan to one more wind turbine transport and next year the piglets enclosure with tractor. With these sets - and of course even some road plates, a lot of trees, baseplates, plants, etc. - I then want to build up a country side with a big farm, a big field and a coastal landscape with some wind power plants. I already made a plan of it - when I'll have it digital on my computer I'll show it to you here, too. 2. The Creator Houses look great - but I would never add one to my Legostadt layout. Creator does imo not go with City since there are no open backwalls and no interior included in the houses. 3. I already bought nearly all older sets I want - so there very supposably won't be many more older sets in my future expanded layout apart from these you can find in my older city layout. Klaus-Dieter
  10. That's exactly what I've been thinking about, too. This seems to be an amazing MOC, Widdi, at least from the outside it looks great! Why don't you present it to us in a seperate topic with pics of its interior, too?! Klaus-Dieter
  11. That's exactly the picture I was searching for, simonwillems, - but I didn't find it. Thanks for sharing. Let's hope that the runabout isn't again in red color like this year's Sports Car but in blue or black. Do you think that TLG will include a shopping cart with some food in this set, too? - That would be awesome! I hope that the fire department boat will not look like this one from 2007 (which did not include any interior and had no back walls downstairs) and the fire truck with boat not like this one from 2008 (which was much too big and plump)! But I highly doubt that they'll be much different to these. Klaus-Dieter
  12. Interesting. Apart from very small motor boats I personally prefer the "molded" ships. But with that comment you gave me a great idea for this new topic, thanks, Richie. Klaus-Dieter
  13. Hello everybody! In this topic Richie brought up an interesting comment which I decided to upgrade in a whole topic: TLG released maritime cargo sets in minifig-scale until now in two years: 1991 and 2007. The maritime cargo sets from 1991 (released under the name "Nautica") were the 6541 Intercoastal Seaport and the 6542 Launch & Load Seaport. The maritime cargo sets from 2007 were the 7992 Container Stacker and the 7994 Lego City Harbor. Now the question arises whether which ones you prefer: The maritime cargo transportation sets from 1991 or the ones from 2007? Please vote! Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  14. These are two very nice buildings, Mariko! I really them - especially the town hall. It is very small but includes nevertheless a lot of great interior details! And even the fish and chips shop looks quite nice. Do you have some interior pics of it, too? Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  15. Do you really think that the light brick is there to light up the Chistmas star, nadnerb112? I doubt that since I doubt that it'll be possible to include the light brick inside the tree and connect it with the star on top that the star will really glow. I more think that the light brick will be place in the upper room of the toy shop. Klaus-Dieter
  16. Great outcome so far, Horus! I really these! These buildings, columns and statues look absolutely realistic and awesome! I can't wait to see the next additions. Very, very well done! Btw: Do you study Egyptology that you know and can design that details? Klaus-Dieter
  17. I totally agree with you, muffinman42. Although we had a Christmas Train some years ago (which I regrettably missed) I really would like to get a new Christmas Train. Since TLG has now this PF functions for trains, too, and the special parts to desgin a perfect looking locomotive a new Christmas Train would indeed be more expensive but even look much better and realistic. Btw: Welcome to EB, muffinman42! These are great ideas, danim! A ski piste with ski lift, a snow hut with small restaurant and some skiers and snowboarders would be awesome! And a snow rescue vehicle - at the best a whole snow rescue HQ with a helicopter, a snowmobile and an all-terrain vehicle would be brilliant, too! Do you mean an on Christmas Carol licensed set or "only" a set with a residence/place that looks similar to it? If you did think of it being non-licensed then this would be a great idea, Oky Wan Kenobi! Some more buildings in older architectual design (like the buildings in the awesome 10188 Town Plan or the brilliant Winter Toy Shop 10199) would be awesome! Klaus-Dieter
  18. Thanks, Milan! Like (nearly) always I do not add minifigs to my regular MOCs since firstly many, many minifigs would be needed to make it looking good and realistic and since secondly when there are minifigs placed they conceal the view on other details. Thanks, Etzel! Yes, I wanted to include as much different for a vaudeville important rooms as possible. Nice to hear that you like it. I firstly wanted to search for some poster of a movie or show in the internet, print it and then cleave it to the wall - but I must admit that I forgot it. Nevertheless you're right: today's buildings are often built in a very scant style - so this would fit here, too. Thanks, aawsum! I totally agree with you: TLG made a great start with including the brilliant cinema in the awesome 10188 Town Plan - but a regular theater is still needed (even if it of course was only small)! Thanks, BlueBard! I wanted to include as much interior as possible since I really dislike spartanic interior (like it's regrettably the case in some official sets - especially of City sets in the 70s-90s). Nice to hear that you like it. Klaus-Dieter
  19. These are great guitars, samtheleogman1! I really them! You did an excellent job with these existing parts to make a guitar which indeed looks very realistic! The most I like the white guitar. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  20. That's a an awesome Caslte MOC, medieval_total_lego! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic! Only the tiles are imo a bit out of place since this is only a city wall and not the inside of a city hall. Otherwise it looks really great! (Seperately sold) Medieval city walls are indeed very much needed! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  21. That seems to get a great and enormous project, Horus! I really the mini model and can't wait to see the outcome! Very well done! And btw: Welcome to EB, Horus! Klaus-Dieter
  22. Hello everybody! Over the last weeks I have been working on a bigger MOC which I finished yesterday. Here you are: Vaudeville Visit the magic show in the vaudeville! From the outside: left side: stage, middle: auditorium, right side: entrance with hall: The outside of the hall and its inside: The auditorium: The balcony with the floodlights in the auditorium: The stage from its front: The magician's equipment: The auto-hoist with which the magician drives on the stage: The stage from behind: The performers' cloakroom: The stage direction: The stage elevator: The stage beside the main stage where the stage props are stored: Beneath the stage: Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  23. I totally agree with you, Richie. Both themes in one line and/or in one year is absolutely excluded (already yet because kids want fractions which can be defined as the good and the bad or at least which don't look to similar - but Roman and Greek soldiers very supposably look for kids too similar). Like already mentioned I bet that we'll see one of these themes in the next years. But next years could even mean firstly 2011 or later. It will depend on whether TLG wants to release a fantasy theme (like the current "Castle" theme) - then Greeks will make it. Or whether they want to release a non-fantasy theme - then Romans will make it. Klaus-Dieter
  24. That's a great entry, spinatundei! I really it! It looks very realisitic! I don't like the doors that much. Apart from that it looks great - the most I like the yellow-transp. color scheme. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  25. That's a great entry, Selander! I really it! It looks very realistic! The only thing I miss are doors to the cockpit. Otherwise it's great - the most I like the dark green color and that you chose to make a diesel shunter! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
