  1. I already expected them to appear in the middle of July (like the last years) - but apart from the two blurry pics of two (supposably) Hoth BPs there are no rumors until now - regrettably. It seems to be very late this year. Btw: Jedinews has two pics of the exclusive Luke minifigure appearing in the Visual Dictionary - check them out here. Imo it looks great! I already pre-ordered the book some weeks ago so I hope I'll then get this awesome minfig (althought I would have prefered TLG releasing a Temple of Yavin set with Luke, Han and Princess Leia in Yavin 4 style). Klaus-Dieter
  2. Thank you very much for that news and the pics, whung, Alywin and Whitefang! The Vintage Minifigure Collection 4 includes two very rare and lovely minfigs: the classic knight and the Forestman minifig! The other three minifigs are . I'm really impressed that TLG brought back the Forestman hat! The Pirates BP is absolutely classic and includes a lot of great stuff! Only some more weaponry would have been nice. I really don't understand why TLG does sell this as an Exclusive since it would surely sell very well in regular shops, too. The other products are really only for JFOLs (too <insert that tiresome argument>). Klaus-Dieter
  3. Playmobil seems to release some (old) Western sets - gold mine, sheriff's office, stage coach, covered waggon, tipi, fort, minifigs, ... you can find here. That means that these sets are in demand. And this even means that - since Lego and Playmobil often release similar sets and themes - there is a small possibility that we could get some new Western sets. Let's hope! What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
  4. Excellent work, Capt. Kirk! I really that minfig painting! It looks absolutley realsitic and is very detailed! It could well be an official minifig! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  5. I was at one of my local toy sellers today and asked him whether he already has the seller's catalogue. He negated and said that it firstly will come after toy fair 2010. But I don't believe that since that would mean that he would order new sets for January and February he don't know how they look like. It's really a pity that we haven't heard - apart from the two (supposably) Hoth BPs - any rumors on SW and City sets for the first half of next year! This year it seems to be extremely late that rumors come up! Klaus-Dieter
  6. Why not?! Until the mid-ninetees in the Castle themes always human fractions fighted against other human fractions. So why not in a Roman theme, too?! Klaus-Dieter
  7. Thank you very much for the great work, TheBrickster! I really like it to have now an overview over all the different topics which can now be found much, much more easy. The only thing I noticed is that there are only very few displays indexed until now (e. g. mine isn't - or are only layouts indexed there which (already) include trains?). Otherwise this is great work - thanks! Klaus-Dieter
  8. That's a great idea for a contest, TheBrickster! Perhaps I'll enter for category three. Klaus-Dieter
  9. That's an absolutely awesome City MOC, Teddy! I really it! The architecture looks absolutely realistic and detailed and you added a lot of lovely details! The most I like the bench in the front and the big tree on the other side. This is a real masterpiece of (Lego) art! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  10. That's a great City MOC, Scrat! I really it! The architecture looks very realistic and detailed! The most I like the glass fassade! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  11. That's an great MOC, Polish Guy! I really it! The exterior (mainly the front with the entrance) looks very realistic and you included a lot of details in- and outside! The most I like the PaB wall. A Lego Store is really one of the most important sets TLG should release for City! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  12. That's an absolutely awesome MOC, M_longer! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and very detailed! It could well be an official Lego set - then I immediately would buy it! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  13. That's a very nice layout, TheBrickster! I really like all those classic and even the more modern sets! But I must say that I personally prefered your last layout where you put the farm a bit away from the inner city and where you used the Grand Central Station (which I like much more than that new Train Station which is firstly that little and secondly does include nearly no interior). Otherwise: Very nice! I esp. like the enginge shed and all those additional train sets which look really ! Btw: Why don't you add the stickers to the Farm, the Main Street and the Truck? Klaus-Dieter
  14. I store my trains (of which I regrettably do only have two - but two awesome ones: the Metroliner and the Classic Train) in boxes of carton to keep them away from dust and sun light. I regrettably have no place to put them on a permanent display and so only display them for some days when I then look at them and even play a bit with them and after that time I clean them from the dust and put them back into the boxes. Klaus-Dieter
  15. That's an awesome painting, Apache! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic! The only thing I miss is the bear upon Lego. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  16. I totally agree with you Zzz! If TLG releases a new historical theme next year - independent whether it'll be a historical theme or a fantasy theme - then there surely won't be any new "Castlle" or Castle sets. But I highly doubt that we'll see a new historical theme next year since there'll be three new licensed themes (if you do not count Duplo Cars) and supposably some sort of Aqua Riders theme (if the info is right) - so imo no space for another new theme. Klaus-Dieter
  17. Thank you very much for sharing those pics with us, oo7! Am I wrong or do the bisons look like if they are made of one mold?! They look brilliant! But the trains look very <insert that tiresome argument>. The cacti and the Indian on his horse look very lovely. Of course these preliminary sets look really not finished since there are much too less minifigs included, nearly no additional stuff and no houses. But the direction was right to offer us Lego Western fans a bison mold, a cactus mold and some Western train(s). Unluckily TLG missed that. I hope so much that Western will come back very soon - but I fear that it won't (at least not in the next years). Klaus-Dieter
  18. I don't know anything about Prince of Persia - so I even don't know in which time it is placed but I assume the Middle Ages, isn't it? So I hope that TLG will re-release the "real" scimitar (from the Orient Expedition theme) in grey color and not giving us that troll swords! Klaus-Dieter
  19. Thank you very much for the links to these pics, Athos! The camel and the ostrich look absolutely amazing, totally realistic and that ! I really, really hope that TLG will release a zoo theme in the City line next year where these two animals will be included! That would be awesome! The camel and the ostrich are no fictional animals - so they very supposably are even not licensed and TLG can use them for every other theme, too, don't you think?! Klaus-Dieter
  20. From where do you have this information, The Cobra? I only remember that during last BrickCon Hinckley asked someone there from TLG whether we'll see elves this year and that person said no. But that only means that we don't get elves this year - and not generally that there won't be some elves. Klaus-Dieter
  21. Some of the sets of the second wave were already on the list we got in August. Other rumours started about around Christmas plus after Christmas we got the first pics. But exclusvie sets are always not part of these rumour lists and appear much, much later. Btw: Having seen the pics of the awesome designed camel and ostrich here - do you think that we'll get a zoo theme next year for City? (Then they could use all of this year's new and pld animal (molds) like crocodiles, camels, ostrichs, fish ... for this.) Klaus-Dieter
  22. That's a great and very interesting topic, SWMAN! I voted for 50:50 chance What speaks for an elongation of the fantasy erea: 1. There are only very few sets this year - that's right. But - like it was already said several times before - that is very supposably only a method to make the Pirate theme more interesting and do not loose to much profit since people now can spend their money on the only very few Castle sets and on the new Pirates sets. 2. If TLG didn't want to elongate the fantasy erea: Why would they then have released some new sets this year anyway?! 3. The fantasy erea seems to be very popular among many FOLs (me not included!) - so TLG would loose a lot of profit when ending this line. Plus many people want so much elves. And if TLG doesn't give them elves they're very disappointed - and I don't think that TLG wants that. What speaks against an elongation of the fantasy erea: 1. This year's sets don't include any new fraction. Plus there are only very few sets anyway. This might be a sign for the end of the fantasy erea. 2. There are even a lot of people (me included!) which would like to see more classic castle structures with much less fantasy. TLG has to think about these people, too. 3. TLG brought back the Pirates theme in its very classic style and it sells very well - so why shouldn't that work with Castle, too?! Like it was already stated there might be some additional sets to MVV - so more medieval sets with civilians and which aren't that focused on battles. Neverthteless these will even in the future imo be the minority of sets and very supposably even only be sold via Lego directly since they don't offer many of the aspects (TLG thinks) that are important for JFOLs. Forestmen might be - but I highly doubt it since they don't look that "Castle-ish". It might only be in combination with some "normal" knights. There might even be a human contra fraction such as dragon knights. But the question is not only whether the fantasy erea will come to an end but even if we'll see some new Castle sets next year anyway. I think that this will very much depend on 1. how many Pirates sets we'll see (but I personally see there no problem since I bet that the second Pirates wave will be maximum that big than the first wave - supposably even smaller), 2. how many new themes and sets there'll be in general and 3. if there'll be another historical theme released next year (e. g. Western or Greeks - but I highly doubt that, too, although a new Western theme would be a dream becoming true!). It's very hard to say but I personally think that TLG will end the fantasy erea after this year, in 2010 then there'll be no new Castle sets and in 2011 they'll come back with a more classic Castle line (like e- g- they did with the Pirates theme) but which will nevertheless include some fantasy stuff, e. g. dragon knights. I personally would really like to see TLG ending the fantasy erea since I'm a classic Castle fan and so really hate these fantasy erea sets with all that ugly creatures and all the structures and vehicles which are imo only dump. So I'd really like to see some more classic styled Castle sets such as the brilliant 10193 MVV - but even sets which are more appeaking to the kids audience but nevertheless looking more classic and don't include all that ugly fantasy stuff. The only question is whether I'd mainly have the money to sell but even the place to store new classic Castle sets anyway. Klaus-Dieter
  23. I totally agree with you RaflWafls! The Toy Story minifigs look to much <insert that tiresome argument>, very cartoonish, absolutely not Lego-like! That's not Lego but looks like cheap plastic toys! The Prince of Persia head-gears for the minifigs, the camel and the ostrich look absolutely amazing and totally realitic! It's really a shame that TLG took a licensed theme and did not release its own Arabian knight theme since this means less playability, fleesh minifigs and the worst thing - very expensive sets! The camel and the ostrich would make very well in a City zoo set! Klaus-Dieter
  24. Thank you very much for the link to the pics, Oky Wan Kenobi! It's really a pity that TLG didn't show the interior of the RBR at Comic Con. Thank you very much for that information, RoflWafls! 150 Euros seems imo to be ok - really not cheap - but ok. I bet that it'll be stored between the office and the escape pods. At the place where there are the engines I highly doubt that TLG will include any interior - whereas a small floor would have place there nevertheless. I exactly fear that it'll be something similar to the one in the RC. Klaus-Dieter
  25. You bought the whole set only because of the gold pieces?! Wouldn't e. g. the Armoured Car Action then be much less expensive than buying the cargo train?! (only joking) But I understand that since I haven't got any of those gold nuggets. Nevertheless imo some other cargo stuff like e. g. some barrels or boxes would have been more suitable and would even have been a better possibility for playing. Klaus-Dieter
