I don't know how much these CC-styled buildings are sold since I do not buy them. But since TLG has been releasing already four CC-styled buildings they must be a success. And so it would be counterproductive if they stop this line after 10211. Cafe Corner is already sold out on S@H (at least it was on the German homepage when I visited it the last time). So there is room for another corner building. Plus there may be as many buildings between two corner buildings as you and TLG want to. And if the street gets too big you can always open up a new one. That's a great and very interesting topic, Ralph_S! I voted for Both MOCs and sets. Imo without sets Lego would be less attractive: Do only think about all these minifigs, vehicles and additional stuff. Plus there are some great sets TLG has been releasing in the last years (and surely even will be in the future, too) - it makes fun to build them, to store them somewhere and from time to time take them out, look at them and maybe even play a little with them. And some vehicles and houses I personally could never design that perfectly than TLG does. But without MOCing it doesn't work, too. Lego was originally invented to use your creativity and imagination in order to build either something real existing or something fantasy-related. It males fun to build MOCs since you can (nearly) exactly build them how you want to have them look like. And you can build things TLG hasn't released before. Conclusion: For me Lego is really both - MOCs and sets. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for that pic, Er!k! This set looks really beautiful! What I like: -very realistic architecture -very good choose of colors -lovely accessory (esp. the small vehicle, the ice cream stand and the window cleaner) What I dislike: -the "shop" sign above the entrance (Everybody can see that this is a shop - so why not leave it out or take a more significant name (that you know what kind of shop it is) or a name of a real or not real existing shop?!) -it's really a pity that this is a CC-styled building and not a City set without backwalls If it was a City Exclusive (meaning a house without backwalls) I'd immediately buy it. But since I don't collect CC styled sets I won't buy it. Hopefully we'll get some sort of mall or big shop (like this one) as an exclusive City set in the future! Klaus-Dieter

It will be an Exclusive - so why not? And an UCS Imp. Shuttle surely wouldn't be less than 100 Euros/Dollars, too. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, lightningtiger! It's great to get an unofficial comfirming that the City House will be a City set and not a Creator one! And of course it would be great if it looked similar to 6754 but without backwalls and with a decent interior and a minifig family! Klaus-Dieter

There is already a new Creator house out early this year. And the older sets are still sold. So another one would make not much sense. Plus having a set number of a Creator house between set numbers of City sets would be strange. I'm really surprised what'll be included in the City House set. It seems to be smaller than the City Life set since the price mentioned on that African website was about 20 percent lower. If it's an "only"-apartment house I hope it'll come without house number so that you can place severals next. Unluckily we will very supposably firstly see some pics in late spring (like with last year's Wind Turbine Transport). Klaus-Dieter

Don't mix up things, guys. The AT-AT and the 10212 are two completely different sets: the AT-AT will be a regular sold summer release (supposably like last year's RSD) and the 10212 will be an Exclusive (I can well imagine being released early this year because of the low last digit). Apart from that the minifigs shown on that poster do really not make sense in an AT-AT set. Since there has always been minimum one non-UCS OT set with a 10xxx number in the last years (please correct me if I'm wrong) I would be very surprised if we don't get one this year, too. And with Hoth Luke and a new Snowspeeder being already included in the Hoth Wampa Cave I do really doubt that we'll see a Hoth base this year. And Cloud City is kept for 2011. A Jabba's Palace this years sound really unsupposably to me and vehicles (like the MF) we already get enough this year. So what is left? There has already been a set with an Imperial Shuttle and some additional minifigs and additional stuff - the Imperial Inspection - and there has already been a set with a large landing platform and some small rooms - the Cloud City set and there has been a set with an A-Wing and a landing platform - the Mon Calamari Star Cruiser. So why shouldn't TLG release a set which combines shuttle and landing platform?! Plus - like already mentioned - the Imp. Officer and Endor Luke make really not much sense in an UCS Imp. Shuttle. If you ask me, an UCS Imperial Shuttle would be much more fitting if it included Emperor Palpatine and two Imperial Guards. Darth Vader, an Imp. Officer and Endor Luke would be not that an representative choice (that would be like if TLG included General Calrissian and injured Luke in the MF). All these arguments speak for a non-UCS set. But of course I can be wrong though. Klaus-Dieter
-
You're right, The Who. Of course 10212 will be either an UCS set - namely the shuttle on its own - or a non-UCS set - namely the shuttle (non-UCS) with the base. But even if we get the shuttle with the base I'm sure that the new shuttle will be (like all redesigned vehicles of the last years) much bigger and detailed. In this point I totally agree with you, Cone O'Patra! I already thought about how stable the platform would be when constructed on tall pillars. But the idea of having a platform and a seperate corridor sounds really good and realistic. Btw: Not only the fact that 10212 include Endor Luke and an Imp. Officer - which would make in an UCS Imp. Shuttle no sense - but even the fact that there are lightsabers included (which "raise the playability") speak for 10212 being no UCS set. And that the new AT-AT is Endor based is imo more than a hint that there has to be one more episode 6 set. Otherwise Hoth based would make much more sense. Klaus-Dieter

Western Lego figures
Klaus-Dieter replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
These are great custom Western minifigs, I Scream Clone! I really them! The only three minifigs I do not like that much are the sheriff (the cravat on the torso does really not fit) and the two poncho dudes (their faces and heads are fine but that extra cloak does imo not fit). Apart from these three they are great! The most I like the ranch owner, the prospector and the bandito - they do look very realistic! Very well done! I can't await to see you Western town. Klaus-Dieter -
Again about 10212: Since an Endor Luke minifig and an Imp. Officer minifig is included in this set it would imo make no sense if the set would be an UCS Imp. Shuttle without base. So I can well imagine it looking like this: -four big round pillars with the platform on top -platform with some lights, a big antenna, some cargo stuff standing around -on the platform the Imp. Shuttle (bigger and more detailed version, but no UCS version) with Imp. Shuttle Pilot inside the cockpit, Vader leaving the gateway of the shuttle and a Stormie waiting for him -beneath the platform on half the height to the ground a balcony connecting the four pillars -on the balcony Endor Luke with handcuffs, a Stormie and the Imp. Officer carrying Luke's lightsaber What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you all very much for all this many information! The new Castle sets look ! It's great to see that TLG is finally going back to the roots and releasing more classic Castle sets! Negative: - architecture of the Prison Tower looks to fantasy-like (perhaps the final version will be better) - no knight Impulse set - no siege tower and/or battering ram - nearly no horses Positive: + classic and realistic look more + much less useless action elements (like catapults, war vehicles etc.) + great minifigs + great architecture + sets in different sizes and price categories + reasonable prices Btw: I haven't found the following information has already been posted (if still please forgive me): 7952 Kingdoms Advent Calendar - 20 Euros (source) Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this information, commdr_neyo! The price for the Hoth Wampa Cave is imo ok. But 91 Euros for the Slave I - which this time even includes only three minifigs - is usury! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this price information, The Cobra! 30 Euros for the 3221 Lego Truck is imo fine. And here another price from this site: 2824 City Advent Calendar: 20 Euros 10211 Grand Emporium: 155 Euros (doesn't interest me since it'll be CC styled) I hope so. But since the set name is very vague it can nearly be everything. A civilian house is nevertheless the most supposable since otherwise TLG would have named the set Bank or Post Office or whatever. Surely there won't be again that a stupid police pontoon plane. But I fear and am really sure that the Police theme will come back with new sets in January 2011. I really like this idea, 'lightningtiger'! Surely not this year - but in 2011 I can very well imagine some new harbor sets and a new cargo plane. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this price information, The Cobra! 40 Euros for the Train Station is ok since it is no real train station but - since they regrettably did not include a decent train station (house) - only a train stop. 165 Euros for the Cargo Train would be still expensive enough - but much better than 180 Euros. Klaus-Dieter

I did not mean that there won't be any AT-AT Drivers included. I only doubt that we'll see two AT-AT Drivers included. That's a great idea, Roncanator! But since it'll be a regular sold set and no Exclusive and since there surely won't be more than four minifigs included (like in the last versions) I regrettably fear that we'll see that much additional stuff included. Maybe we even only get two At-AT Drivers, the new Imp. Officer and one Stormtrooper. Well, let's see. I hope that at NY Toy Fair it will be revealed. Thank you very much for this information, rockinkurt13! It's great to hear that it is not motorized since imo motorization is imo needless and only boosts the price. Like it was already mentioned, the reason behing the AT-AT being not Hoth but Endor is supposably only because it so goes very well with the exclusive 10212 (which hopefully will include not an UCS Shuttle but a regular shuttle and the base). Do you think that 10212 will be revealed at NY Toy Fair, too? Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, Milan. Yes, I miss it very much, too. But there's still hoping for 2011 or at the latest 2012. Thanks, starwarsfanatic. I didn't think much about how to build the bed. I simply looked at the one included in 10193 and built the one included in this my MOC similar to this design. Klaus-Dieter

That's again a totally awesome MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! It looks very realistic and the architecture is great and so do the colors! I even like the arches from the Orient Expedition theme - they fit very well. The only thing I miss are some more minifigs (perhaps the whole family of Senor Palomar?!), some horses and some accessory. Otherwise it's great! Very, very well done! That would be a great idea! Perhaps even with some train structures included? And what about a cableway? (I plan to build one myself, too, but at the moment I have got too much to do for university.) Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! It looks very realistic and like an official set! I even like the high similarity to the official set from 1996. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I totally agree with you, Rick! If mixed parts of minifigs would be sold in these bags but not complete minifigs the box art would show this. I fear that the price of every single minifig will be around the same price of the Impulse sets (so about 3 Euros) since these minifigs are extraordinary and there's even extraordinary accessory added to them which we very supposable won't see in other sets this year. Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for the new pics of the Tank Truck, Macoco! I fear you are right! Well, the only thing TLG might have thought is: There'll be a passenger train out in summer - so an elevated train the same year would concurate with it. The City House is maybe the civilian set we get this year - some sort of "reparation" that we don't get the City Square. The only thing I do really not understand is following: Why does TLG release a set mainly adressing JFOLs as an Exclusive?! A truck stop is mainly interesting for kids - so why not releasing the truck stop as a regular not that big set and the City House as a bigger exclusive set?! Now again about the contents of the Truck Stop: So you think we might get following? -truck for transporting wood -overland bus -small civilian car (but not a Smart) -2x2 gas pumps with roof above them -small shop with counter -fast food restaurant -6-8 minifigs A car transporter is imo totally excluded. Do only think about how big it would have to be, how many bricks it would include. Plus an empty car transporter doesn't look good and even doesn't make much sense. So even minimum two more cars are needed to set on the car transporter. That would mean that the price for the car transporter would already be minimum half of the final price. Again about a hotel/motel: If TLG doesn't include one, this set would surely loose a lot of popularity. A compromise would be to have only one guest room on the second floor of the small shop or the restaurant since this wouldn't require a whole seperate house. Klaus-Dieter
-
I fear that this won't happen, hollisbrick. If TLG will release a new Cloud City set next year, it surely will be an Exclusive and so even be only one whole big set. But this does not necessarily have to mean that it has to be as expensive as the DS. The DS was released in 2008 when we got only one til two BPs from the OT and no other OT set. TLG knows that if they release a Cloud City set in the price range of the DS the most of their fans wouldn't be able to afford many of the regular sold OT sets. Nevertheless it's logical that it'll be much more expensive than its first version: prices rise independent from which is included in a set, there have to be new minifigs and it has to be bigger and more detailed - so 250 Euros/Dollars is imo a realistic price. But now back to this year's sets: Even though the AT-AT will perhaps be Endor, I don't think that there'll be some very different style: AT-ATs are all of grey color. So the only contents which surely won't be included in the new AT-AT are General Veers, Snowtrooper(s) and imo even not a motor. If it is Endor based: Do you think that there'll be an Ewok or Endor Rebel Trooper included in it? And do you think that this time TLG manages it to have two AT-AT drivers included? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, lightningtiger! I'm disappointed that the Truck Stop did make it into the exclusive City set and not the City Square or at least the Public Transportation Center. Nevertheless the Truck Stop wouold have potential - if TLG includes a motel (which I really hope). So let's see. Which vehicles do you expect in this set? Another tank truck is imo absolutely excluded. So perhaps a wood transport (with or without small crane), a limonade truck or food truck and a small civilian car. As for the buildings I bet we'll get the gas station itself, a shop with small restaurant and hopefully even a motel (otherwise it would be a set only aimed to JFOLs). For minifigs I expect two Octan workers, two truck different drivers, a female motel owner and a traveler. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this many information, rockinkurt13! It's great to here that 10212 will perhaps and hopefully not only include the shuttle itself but even the landing platform! I hope that TLG doesn't change it into an UCS set (like the last MF) - namely only the shuttle. Imo it would be the right decision to include the base as well as the shuttle since in this way TLG can attract the most people - fans which only want the shuttle, fans which only want the base and fans which want the shuttle and the base. Perhaps they design the new AT-AT in the way that it can dock on the lower part of the landing platform of 10212 - that would be awesome! I can't await til we'll get some pics from NY Toy Fair where the AT-AT as well as the 10212 (hopefully) very supposably will be shown. It's great to here that there's a chance that we'll get a new Cloud City set - even though when we have to wait for it around one and a half year. Klaus-Dieter
-
To the Fan's Choice set: If the Truck Stop won the poll and accordingly TLG decided to release the Truck Stop as the Fan's Choice set I bet that they include a motel. Without motel - meaning only with a gas station and a kiosk included - this set would then (at least here in Europe) not attract many AFO's interests since we've got already multiples of gas stations and there'll be even released three different trucks in 2010. To the City House: Be aware that this set is called City House and not Familiy House. So we have imo to expect a house which fits in the center of a town and not a house which stands alone with a big garden all around it. So I bet that we'll get a house very similar in style to the pizzeria in 7641 - with a small shop (perhaps green grocer?) on the first floor, a living room on the second floor and perhaps even a sleeping room on the third floor. Plus very supposably a car (not Smart), a man, a woman and a kid. But this would imo be as great as a standing alone family house. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this news, Steff, and for the poster, Alywin! The new Endor Luke looks great! I only hope that we won't get the Imperial Shuttle as an UCS set! Much better would be a re-designed version: bigger, more detailed, with seats inside the cockpit and a real entrance for Darth Vader entering it. Plus a down-sized landing platform and an open floor with railings would be a great addition and would btw make much sense since the Imp. Officer is included in this set, too. Can anyone think of what 8099 Walmart MDP is? A hard to find set? Klaus-Dieter
