I totally agree with you that a real leader for the Dragon Knights is needed since the green wizzard is imo only an assistant for the leader but not a leader himself. As for a queen for the Dragon Knights: I don't know. How ugly shall she look like? The Lion Knights will get a very lovely queen in the advent calendar. And which concerns a wizzard for the Lion Knights: I don't think that there'll be a set with him in 2011 since we already will get a good wizzard in very classic style in the advent calendar. Btw: Thank you very much for the pics of the BPs! It's really a shame that TLG did not even include in them some horses (although they will very supposably be Exclusives (and so more for AFOLs than for JFOLs) anyway). Klaus-Dieter

Sorry, Daniel, I had problems with translating the word cable car since it can even mean tram. But a cableway you mean is imo totally excluded: There could be only two stations and only a straight way between them. Plus if they wanted to have the cable cars in a realistic size and design I'm even not sure whether the cable would hold them. A cableway for a winter theme with small cable cars going up and down a hill lays imo not too far away - but for inside our Lego Cities it's imo too special. But everything can happen. Yes, indeed. I bet that we'll get a ferry, a cableway, a bus, two taxis, a tram and an elevated train in this set. Plus minimum twenty minifigs and a ton full of accessory. And that all for only 100 Euros. Now seriously: A ferry surely won't be included in 8404 - but I really would like one as/in a seperate set! (Civilian) Ships are still an underpriviledged part of Lego City. So let's hope for next year that we'll hopefully get a new cargo harbor and a yacht - and hopefully even a pleasure cruiser as S@H Exclusive in 2011 or later. Klaus-Dieter

Yes, lightningtiger, but you even see the difference between this station and the one TLG designed: In this station there are two tracks between the two platforms - and that is really common. But in TLG's station there is only (space for) one track between the two platforms. Klaus-Dieter
-
We already talked about that, Daniel, but it does not seem very likely since a cable car would need much space on your road plates (either directly on the road or on the sidewalk). But at the moment nothing is for sure. Firstly I was very sure that we'll get an elevated train - but after the very true argument with which Svelte came up it does now not seem to be very likely to me, too. So only time will tell us. I agree with you, lightningtiger, that the Farmer Impulse set is a nice set on its own - e. g. as a small gift. But it is a bad set when you see it as and want to use it for the Farm theme as whole. Well, that would be a good opportunity, Holodoc! But - like you already stated - it nevertheless would disturb. Firstly I don't like to change a set (I strictly seperate between official sets and MOCs) and secondly it still would be unrealistic: I can not remember having seen any train station - even not a subway station - where you can get inside a train from both sides. Btw: When you look at the (supposably now really) final box arts you can see that firstly TLG really seems to include some flexible tracks in the new train sets and that secondly there is a new battery box included in the two trains which looks very similar to the rechargeable battery box. So I have got two questions: 1. Do you think that TLG will actually include the rechargeable battery in these train sets? 2. If not it will be very easy to include that rechargeable battery instead of the regular battery box in this set since they are about the same size, don't you think? 3. Since the new (?) batters box seems to be very tall: Do you, too, think that this battery box will - together with the infrared sensor - be placed behind the front "cockpit" (in which in the picture the driver sits)? Oh yes, sorry. And many thanks for posting it, metalandi! Klaus-Dieter

Since it wasn't revealed at NY Toy Fair I fear that pics won't arrive earlier than one month before releases - so let's say in about May. Here are the confidental pics of the Lego Truck and the Farmer Impulse from whung's BS gallery: Thank you very much for these pics, whung! The Farmer Impulse is really disappointing. With the most people which will buy it surely already bought the Farm set, the dog and the total standard farmer are absolutely dispensable. And the really bad designed feed lots (of which the food immediately falls out after having put it inside and with a water bucket without water-tap) is absolutely dispensable since we already have got two in the Piglets Enclosure And Tractor set. So the only interesting and senseful content that remains is the pig. At least they could have included a brick-built chicken instead of the dog and a boy, girl or grandmother instead of the total standard farmer. The Lego Truck is awesome! I really like to see that the final version will include that many micro sets like the confidential version showed (I count eight ). It's even great that there will be doors in the cab as well as on the side and the back of the truck. And the bed inside the cab (TF pictures) is of course a very nice addition. Btw: How much do you think that the awesome 4083 City House will cost? I would go for 50 Euros (the same price like City Corner). 7641 includes a big vehicle (the bus) and a small second building and three minfigs - therefore we've got (supposably and hopefully) a more involved interior in the City House, a big baseplate and a big garden with lots of details. What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

From whung's BS gallery: Thank you very much for these pics, whung! Now when looking at the new "Train Station" I like it more than before. You only can't judge it under the aspect of being a decent train station (like supposably not only I but the most of us would have liked to get) but only a train stop. But for a train stop it's really ok. The only thing with which I have got problems is that you can get from two platforms to only one track - shouldn't there be two tracks between the platforms?! Can you identify what's behind the right seat (looking yellow) in the small hut? Am I right or did TLG really forget to include a door in the hut? And can you detect whether there are (hopefully) doors in the taxi or not? The train level crossing is nothing spectacular but really ok. The Passenger Train looks awesome - it's really a pity that there is only that a small platform and only two passengers included. The Cargo Train is for sure the best set of the whole new Train line - simply amazing ! Mainly the cartgo loading station, the engine and the tank waggon are brilliant. The only thing I don't like in this set that TLG - again like in the last Cargo Harbor set from 2007 - did not include any doors in the containers and (so very supposably) even no cargo stuff. I thought that with TLG re-introducing the car doors they surely will add doors to containers, too. Klaus-Dieter

I think following new pics from whung's BS gallery haven't been posted/linked before: Thank you very much for these pics, whung! The architectual style of all buildings (apart from that strange looking Prison Tower) is brilliant and really classic. and the minifigs are brilliant, too. If TLG included a decent number of horses in this theme which is about knights and not only medieval soldiers, it would be the perfect new classic-orientated Castle theme. But since there are only three horses in total ... even in the ugly KK2 there were more horses. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for these pics, whung, and for posting them, Force Master! For the Slave 1 and the Hoth Wampa Cave there is nothing really new: The Hoth Wampa Cave is (apart from that we don't get a different pilot) . The Slave 1 is average - there are many details and it seems even to be bigger than the previous version - but I personally don't need that high detailed vehicles. That does only heighten the price immensly and there is not necessarily more playability. I really hope that we'll get a decent, big Cloud City (in about a size a bit smaller than the DS) in order to be aible to combine the Slave 1 with it since the Slave 1 only on its own doesn't offer much playbility and key functions for replaying the movie. Nevertheless the new Boba looks great, Bossk, too, and the carbonite block is done very realisticly, too. Btw: It's really a pity that we still have no pics of the AT-AT. I hope that the Easter bunny will bring us some/one. Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! The last days I've been planning on my final layout of Legostadt, my Lego City. Having now a nearly finalised plan, I realised that I'd need a huge number of straight tracks. For the straight 9 V tracks there is mainly the problem of availability (since they are no longer produced and sold (at least not in Germany)) and the financial problem (since they are most of the time very expensive). For the straight RC/PF tracks there are the same problems, too, but nevertheless different: a set with RC/PF tracks is indeed available but the half of the set contains curved tracks of which I have absolutely no use. And seperate there is nearly no possibility to get them for a reasonable price. But surely there are others which have a big use of curved tracks and do not know what to do with the straight tracks. So I thought that it would be interesting to know which kind of set the EB Train Community (would) prefer(s): straight tracks and curved tracks in one set (like in the current RC/PF tracks pack) or straight tracks in a set and curved tracks in another seperate set (like with the past 9 V tracks packs) Please vote! Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Indeed it is since this is an AFOL forum. Apart from that the one or other mistake is of course ok - but it is straining to read someone's post when he/she does write constantly incorrect. But you're new and now you know. Nevertheless welcome to EB, BountyHunter501! About the AT-AT: I think (and hope) that the rumours on the price and piece count are wrong. Of course it could use less bricks - but not immensly less bricks. Plus do think about TLG's development of how to build vehicles in the last years - vehicles are getting bigger and more detailed than before - so designing it smaller sounds to me unbelievable. And since it includes seven minifigs a price of 110 Euros sound to me absolutely unrealistic anyway. Last but not least think even about that it has to include something new - the minifig constellation lets imo conclude that there has to be included a small base/room and a big gun. Klaus-Dieter
-
I must admit that you're making a good point, Svelte. If we take the 160 AUSD (about 100-110 Euros) as the real price of this set the danger is that either the design of the elevated train would be very <insert that tiresome argument>, with spratanic stations and a minimas number of minifigs and accessory or/and that the elevated train will come without motor - which means that 1. you can not let it drive with the contens incuded in this set which would make AFOLs but mainly JFOLs angry, that 2. you have to pay an abnormal price for all that PF stuff to be aible to let it drive (about 130 Euros!!!) and that 3. you surely have to destroy some part of the elevated train or take out some interior to assemble the PF motor and battery box. So very supposably it would be even much better to get a new elevated train or monorail as a S@H Exclusive for about 150-250 Euros - but with many minifigs much interior, detailed design, decent stations and a motor included that you can let it drive. Btw: Like already mentioned I can well imagine that - looking at the rumored price - it'll be a big bus station with office, bus, taxi, a cafe and a park. But that's of course only guessing. Klaus-Dieter

That's a totally awesome City MOC, georgivar! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and is constructed with a perfect architecture! An office building is really one of the sets I wish TLG would release in form of a non-CC-styled City set! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

According the new AT-AT: Sorry, pugsx3, but I simply don't believe your friends. You are still aible to buy the motorized version - so which sense should it make to release exactly the same one but with different minifigs?! And the minifigs selection of the new AT-AT gives (at least imo) a hint that we have to await a very small base and/or a cannon included. Plus if TLG does only want to sell the motorized version in regular toy shops they would - if anyway - maximum change the set number. (Apart from that one of my local toy shops indeed has the motorized version on its shelves.) But they wouldn't include different and new minifigs. Of course the new AT-AT will be a redesign - but like all redesigns we have had before it will include something new (or something less) - meaning something new apart from new minifigs. At least this is which concerns this year, ILikePi. But firstly many molds used in the Minifigures packs are not new (e. g. the Indians hair, the skateboard, ...). And secondly I would be really surprised if TLG won't use these new molds in sets 2011+. Btw: I totally agree with you that the new smaller lightsaber piece would make a good lightsaber for Yoda - for all the others the regular version is much better. Klaus-Dieter
-
I don't know whether this has already been posted - but I'd like to get a mobile phone because the walkie-talkies for minifigs fit very well concerning firemen or policemen - but not concerning regulary citizens which want to talk to their friends, partner and family when not at home. Klaus-Dieter
-
I totally agree with you, LegoGalactus! It would be totally awesome if we will get a re-design of the Airport Shuttle! But I hope that we won't get any "specific" train stops in there - meaning that you can use the train stops for every place you want to place them (and not one train stop with airport stickers and stuff or one with train station stickers and stuff etc.). In my final layout there surely won't be any place for a decent airport and the airplanes of the airport I own are much too small that they would fit with the current City vechiles. So I want one train stop at the center (next to the park with the fountain of 10184) and one at another place. Btw: Since the main colors of the new Airport (buildings) are white and blue I could well imagine that the possible elevated train will be mainly blue with some white stripes. And if there is hopefully really an elevated train included in this set I hope that there will be more than only five or six minifigs - let's say hopefully there will be eight (train driver, bus driver, cook (if hopefully a snackbar is included), man, woman, father, mother, son and daughter). What do you think? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, lightningtiger! With these now three confirmations I think we can be really sure that the PTC made it. So the only problem now is that we have too wait (supposably very long) til we get some more information or even pics. If it's going to be released in June/July/August I suppose that pics won't come up before May. Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, supertoad64! This would be the perfect minifigure combination which would satisfy JFOLs as well as us AFOLs! A bowman is anyway really needed since TLG seems to have been nearly deleted of its castle minifigure list - it does not appear nearly nowhere in a set although bowmen are imo much cooler than crossbow knights. More horses are really needed, too, and of civilians you can never get enough, too. Klaus-Dieter
-
That's a totally awesome MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! The exterior looks simply amazing and very realistic and the interior is quite nice, too! I esp. like the exterior architecture, the bell and the colorful window behind the altar. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

You're welcome, Macoco! I totally agree with you that (although I personally would have prefered the City Square) the Public Transport - esp. if we will get an elevated train - will/would be the option which will/would sell the most since the most adult City/Train fans (me of course included) want a new elevated train so much. The Truck Stop is in comparison a set which would attract many JFOLs, too. So where is then the necessarity to sell it as an Exclusive and not as a regular set?! And the City Square could either be released next year or the year after next year as an Exclusive - or it could be devided up in several parts (clverly combined with elements that attract JFOLs' interests (e. g. bank, security transport, banker, security officer, passant(s) and bank robber) which could be sold as regular sets, too. I, too, really hope that we'll see a remake of the classic Airport Shuttle. It is that  ! When I firstly saw it in a catalogue in the internet some years ago I simply wanted to have it. But the prices you have to pay for it ... And now I'm really happy that I did not save my money for months and years to buy this set since the possible new one will surely fit much better in style and size with the current City sets. I totally agree with you concerning the tracks of the Temple of Doom, Ferdik. Since TLG is releasing cars in different sizes (six studs wide for trucks and four studs wide for regular cars) I do not think that the new elevated train will be only four studd wide. It surely will be six studs wide (like all the regular trains, too). And the Temple of Doom tracks are only for four studs wide trains anyway. But I don't think that they'll make any new molds for it. Since the set will (after the rumors) be around 100 Euros it would be much too costly to make some new molds only for this set. Like already mentioend, I bet that the new elevated train will be really "only" an elevated train - meaning it will run on one upper level with two stations above the street - and the tracks wll simply be the regular RC/PF tracks with pillars below them. Klaus-Dieter
-
I totally agree with you, UsernameMDM! Since horses are a real rarity in the new castle theme (only three in total) BPs which contain a horse and four minifigs would be perfect and are really necessary! Klaus-Dieter
-
That's an absolutely amazing City MOCset, lightningtiger! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic! The only thing I miss is a cash point and some minifigs. Otherwise it's perfect! The most I like the detailed interior. Very, very welll done! Klaus-Dieter
-
bus and elevated train are (more or less) confirmed But 8404 will supposably firstly be released in the second half of 2010. I guess July which means that it will be there in some Lego Stores already in June. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this news, Navy Trooper Fenson! BPs for both sides sound great! As for the medieval market set listed there I, too, think that it's the 10193 MVV. Since there are that many Kingdoms sets coming out this year - even with a completely new line - it's very unsupposable that we'll get a Castle Exclusive, too. Maybe next year but not already this year. Klaus-Dieter
