That's a great Western MOC, I Scream Clone! I really it! It shows many interesting and partly even funny scenes and is built very accurately. Very well done! Btw: Why did you add a crane to the mine since there is already a lorry train? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the new, clear official picture of the Lego Truck, brickerik, and for the date of release, legomilk! The Lego Truck looks really - esp. the micro sets. I totally agree with you, Svelte. The 1x3x4 doors are the only thing which really disturbs! For many of their other themes TLG is releasing many new colors and mainly many new molds. So why could they not release two 1x3x5 doors?! They would fit much better, look much more realistic and even minifigs could walk through them. Btw: It seems as if we get three different micro sets: the Fire Pick-up, the small Police Car and the Lego Truck itself - three copies per set. Klaus-Dieter

I think it can't be said hundred percent for sure whether the rechargeable battery will be included or not. I personally of course hope so since buying it extraly is hugely expensive. But Mark Bellis already stated that it's very supposably going to be a regular battery box. And when you look at the price of the rechargeable battery it seems unlikely that it is included in the new train sets because they are not that much more expensive than the previouse ones (10 Euros each). Plus there seems to be no recharger included - and without recharger the rechargeable battery could only be used one time - and til now it even seems as if the recharger is only sold via S@H and not in regular toy shops, too. On the other hand TLG includes the flexible tracks in the new train sets, too, although surely no only I would have bet that we will only get them seperately in the future, too. And producing big numbers of rechargeable batteries would make them cheaper and so more supposably to include them in the new Train sets. So let's see. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information on 10212, KimT, and for posting it, LegoGalactus! It's really too bad that the Imperial Shuttle will be an UCS version. I hoped so much for a re-designed version of the Imp. Shuttle we had many years ago. A non-UCS, non-Mini, non-Midi scaled Imp. Shuttle is that much needed and would surely make a superb set if the Endor landing platform would be included. So there will supposably even be a second exclusive SW set this year, don't you think? But what could it be? Will it be based on the OT or the CW/PT? If it's based on the OT I hope it won't be Cloud City since again a Cloud City for "only" 150 Euros would surely be again a disappointing set. So maybe we'll see a new Hoth Base: medical room (medical droid already included in Palpatine's Shuttle) and control center? Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! (Since TLG is releasing that great 3221 Lego Truck this year) We now really need a Lego Store for our minifigs where they can buy all their sets. So some weeks ago I designed following MOCset with LDD in order to show which could/would/should be possible for a (more AFOL orientated) Lego Store set: Modern Lego Store Go to the modern Lego Store in order to buy the latest Lego sets or some special bricks from the PaB wall. On the way home you can have a cool drink or a hot sausage at the small kiosk. This set includes a modern Lego Store with two display cases, two cashpoints, shelves with Lego sets and a PaB wall, a kiosk with two tables, a cook, two shop assistants, a boy, a girl and a display dummy. An overview: From the left side: From the right side: From the back: The display dummy: The display cases (in this picture without contents): The micro sets for the display cases: a castle the CG Platform a Creator house The roofs of the modern Lego Store as well of the small kisok are removeable for better playability inside: Like always more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! Like proposed already some weeks ago, here is my covered waggon. It is a MOD from the awesome set 6716 Weapons Wagon: I already designed it around Easter but was very busy so I could firstly show it now. Here it is: Covered Waggon Have you made the children ready to go? Have you packed the food? And have you fed the horse? Yes?! So let's move westwards! This set includes a covered waggon with kitchen waggon, mother, father, son, daughter, a horse, a barrel, a box, a fire place and a lot of accessory. An overview: The covered waggon while moving: The kitchen waggon: The last savings for a rainy day which stayed after the crossing from Europe to America - hidden in the lower part of the covered waggon: The food the settler family took with them: Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for these pictures, Cwetqo! This seems indeed to be 8403 City House - but without minifigs, garden and terrace. There seem to be two solar panels on the roof - very nice addition! Unluckily you can't view clearly inside the house. But might there be a cooking stove behind the left big window downstairs? Klaus-Dieter

Great ideas so far! Thanks, lightningtiger. A Maintanance Train would indeed be great! And if TLG throws in a signal and a lot of tools plus two minifigs it would offer a lot of playbility - so even JFOLs would really like it. There is a big improvement when you compare this year's train sets with those of the last decade. The passenger train has an incredible realistic design (apart from that it doesn't include doors and does only include a minimum platform and one three minifigs) and the cargo train includes even a tank waggon and a cargo loading station. So I wish TLG will go on with this theme the next years and will not kill it after its first great wave (like they in principle did with the previous Train themes). There should and even could well be that awesome additional sets! So here are my most wanted sets TLG should release in addition to this year's Train sets (none of them should be CC styled since I do not buy CC styled buildings!): For the City theme: Train Worker Impulse 3 Euros a signal minifig: train worker Small Shunting Engine 20 Euros a shunting engine (without PF functions - but possibility to include them) minifigs: train worker Refridgerator Waggon 30 Euros a refridgerator waggon including a small truck, a pallette joe and many packets minifigs: train worker and regular worker Car Loading Platform 50 Euros a platform with a barrier and a small office including an open freight waggon, a car transport truck and two cars minifigs: train worker and truck driver Warehouse 70 Euros a large building (stockroom and small office)with one platform on the left side (to load and enload goods from trains) and one on the right side (to enload and load goods from trucks) including a big truck, two closed freight cars, a pallette joe and a lot of cargo stuff minifigs: two train workers, a truck driver and a female civilian working in the office Grand Central Station 90 Euros a big train station in ancient architectual style (first floor: ticket stand, waiting area and kiosk, second floor: restaurant and railway control center) with a large and long platform with ticket machine, street lamps, signals and benchs/seats including a suitcase transport vehicle with minimum one trailer, a blue bicycle, a skateboard, some food pieces and some suitcases minifigs: cook, ticket seller, railway control center officer, female kiosk owner, female civilian, boy and girl Modern Engine Shed (S@H Exclusive) 100 Euros a modern engine shed with two tracks in parallel, roller gates, a small office and a platform between the two tracks including many machines and a lot of tools minifigs: three train workers What do you think? Do you think that some of them are realistic to await? Klaus-Dieter

A new minifigure collection including a farmer would be great - but not as an Exclusive but similar to the regular sold City Minifigure Collection. Like following: City Minifigure Collection 2 -farmer (blue torso) with hay fork and hay ball -policewoman with warning vest and stop dipper -civilian woman with shopping-bags -civilian man with black/blue bicycle -cypress tree and street lamp (from 7641) What do you think? Klaus-Dieter
-
Since the classic hay fork looks of course fantastic but looks of course much to ancient for a today's farm: What about a new City related, grey pitchfork?! (Since TLG are making that many molds for that many elements this should be no problem.) And yes, a new minifigure collection including a farmer would be great - but not as an Exclusive but similar to the regular sold City Minifigure Collection. Like following: here. Klaus-Dieter

Licensed or unlicensed new Western sets?
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Of course this might be the case, RumPunchDrunk. But TLG has even to reject how many licensed themes they want and how many regular themes they want. Plus the question is whether they really should/will displace classic themes (and Pirates and Western are indeed classic themes) by licensed themes. Keep even in mind that if there is a new Western movie, Western sets would sell amongst JFOLs well or badly - not very much depending on whether these sets will directly point to that movie or not. Even if kids these days might not have that much imagination and fantasy they had before the popularity of all that computer, playstation etc., they still have enough fantasy to play with sets what they want. So they can play with licensed sets a completey different story than the one which is shown in the movie - but they can even replay the scenes from the movie with non-licensed sets. Imo the point is that kids have to get interested in this theme - and then it'll sell. A movie is (esp. nowadays) supposably the best method for awaking that interest. But when kids are interested in this theme - wouldn't it be better if it was unlicensed?! This way JFOLs and AFOLs (Westen fans) would be pleased! Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for the catalogue scan, KimT, and for the detailed pics of Han and the Imp. Officer, Rufus! Well, you're right, Ras 74! The first version of the AT-AT was (when I remember right) 120 Euros. So I don't think that this one will cost less -esp. since there are many minifigs included which are very costly. I totally agree here, too. For kids it is a set with a lot of playbility. And parents will surely like to buy it because they can see that there are many contents included (which they very supposably prefer over one more detailed AT-AT with less minifigs and without cannon). Apart from that for those which don't own one of the previous versions of the AT-AT (and I'm one of these persons) it's not such a bad set - only when you constantly compare it to the older versions. I totally agree with you, Jammiedodger! I was even already very angry when TLG did the same with the 10178 AT-AT. But it seems as if they don't want to listen to us concerning this. Why do we get a totally unneccessary new torso for Han - but no correct torso for General Veers?! I even don't understand LFL allowing TLG to include again a complete wrong minifigure in a set. I regrettably have to agree with you, Mr. Elijah Timms! Last year was that an outstanding year for the OT. Of course there were some re-design, too, but they included that many new and awesome stuff that it didn't matter that they were "only" re-designs. But look at this year: Apart from the one or other new minifigure, the one or other more detailed and bigger style, it seems as if we won't get a really new and really exciting set (where TLG exhausts their potential) apart from the BPs and the Hoth Wampa Cave. I really do not say that all the other sets are bad - but TLG could really have done better with including more new stuff. So let's hope for next year - KimT already stated that he heard that 2011 "will rock our life". The only question is whether this will only concern the CW/PT sets (in which I'm not interested) or even the OT sets. (A new, really big and detailed Cloud City with much decent interior, many rooms and many (new) minifigs, a newer, bigger Jabba's Palace and a new regular TIE Fighter would be awesome!) Klaus-Dieter
-
Sorry, Mutley, I totally forgot about the comparison pictures - thank you very much! Looking at the comparison pictures I'd say that the new AT-AT is nearly as tall and as long as the first version - only the main body is a bit smaller. Btw: Without wanting to criticise someone: Of course there is not much imporvement over the AT-AT and even not really something new included. But Slave 1 and the Landspeeder are in principle nothing new, too. In all three sets - AT-AT, Slave 1 and Landspeeder - we have got some new minifigs and a bit change on the design. Apart from that there is nothing really new. So these are only re-designs and the only four real new OT sets we get are the BPs, the Hoth Wampa Cave and (supposably) 10212. Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! Since it's now already some time ago that Trains got its own subforum and does no longer belong to the Town subforum, I thought that it surely would be very interesting and that it even would make sense to have a seperate topic about our ideas for future Train sets. This topic should imo be very similar to the Ideas for new City sets topic - with the only difference that of course there may be even ideas for ancient trains, too, and not only for those directly belonging to the City theme. But please note: This shall be no topic where pros, cons and possibilities of different types of train motors, tracks etc. are discussed - so no technical discussions but discussions. So please post your ideas here! Comments and discussions are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely amazing fair, lego-maniac! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and with these many details ... You put there everything a decent fair needs (apart from a caroussel and a ferris wheel): car scooter, snack bars, candy stalls, haunted house ... And the cars of the car scooter can even drive in reality! The most I like the car scooter and the small stalls. Like already mentioned on this page of the topic for Ideas for new City sets, I really would like to get a Fair theme - or at least one exclusive set similar to 10184 with a Ferris wheel, a candy stall and a shooting gallery - since every decent and big Lego City needs a fair! Apart from that I'm sure kids would love a fair theme/set! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
-
That is a totally awesome City MOC, Sylann! I really it! The stalls look beautiful and very realistic and the the landscape and the details are stunning, too! The most I like the small food stalls. A fun park is something TLG hasn't been releasing til now - but which is really needed for a big, decent and complete LEgo City and which would be absolutely amazing! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the pics of the new magnet set, Oky Wan Kenobi, and for the scans of the TRU catalogue, Tribolego! To the new magnet set: I personally would have prefered to get a regular Mon Calamari instead of Admiral Ackbar. Reason: A regular Mon Calamari could be well added inside the command center of Home One on the second chair. But a second Ackbar is not needed. To get an extra Princess Leia minifigure is nice since surely not everybody can afford the (below average concerning the interior) Tantive 4. But another C-3PO?! Don't we get already two this year in sets (Landspeeder and AT-AT)?! To the minifigs of the Slave 1: Do I see wrong or is there a new molded pistol for Han?! Again to the AT-AT: I fear that TLG will again give us a regular Imperial Officer (this time with a Hoth torso) but no real General Veers with the four red-blue markings (=> general) instead of the three red-blue markings (=> officer). At least they then could print "Imperial Officer" below the minifig and do not simulate as if it really is General Veers. Klaus-Dieter

What happened to Western discussion?
Klaus-Dieter replied to David Thomsen's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hello David Thomsen. On the one hand I have to agree with Sandy that Western is surely no theme of those themes which sell independant form time, location, ... (like e. g. City, Castle, ...). But how many themes do appear from time to time which only live for one, two or three years and then disappear?! On the other hand this theme indeed has a huge potential. When you read through the topics I listed below, you can see how many ideas for (new) Wild West sets we fans already posted and discussed - they would last for many years and many waves. And I even do not think that kids are not that interested in Western. Imo it was the mistake to stop the Western "Cowboy" theme firstly after one year and release an "Indian" theme for only one year, too. For a Western theme and for all the imagination of kids and what they connect with this theme, there were missing some existential elements such as a stage coach, a Western train and a saloon. Plus it can't be that TLG does absolutely not think about releasing a new Western theme - why then would they have emailed their customers a poll (about 1,5 years ago) where they asked whether we would like Animals, Robots or Western as a new Factory theme? The reasons for there aren't many discussions going on in this forum on the moment are - like already mentioned - that we have not had new Western sets since 1997. Do only think about how much there would be discussed in ten years about Star Wars sets if TLG stopps this theme after next year. Plus we have got minimum two topics full of ideas for a new Western theme - these ideas were already discussed by many of the "older" members which are interested in Western. And TheBrickster and I even wrote a report about new ideas for Western sets which Bonaparte and CopMike sent to TLG. So - like already mentioned, too - it needs some new members and/or some new sets and/or some new MOCs in order to that this discussion will go on more lively. I plan to build a small covered waggon after Easter and then I'll show it to you. But at the moment I'm very busy at university. Here are some links for discussing the Wild West theme: Licensed or unlicensed new Western sets? Report about new Western sets addressed to TLG Ideas for new sets (Wild West) Wild West: Help Dusty Miner ... And make even sure that you signed in the Petition for Western returning. Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for the picture of the new AT-AT, Anio! I've got mixed feelings about the new AT-AT: On the one hand it looks imo quite ok which concerns the size and the design. Plus I really like that small cannon (you can see in the back) - a realistic and very nice addition (plus something for kids to fight against the AT-AT). On the other hand imo there is too much light grey color on the legs which makes it looking strange. Plus I really do not understand why they throw in a C-3PO and even a new Han minifigure whilst there is no small room included. Major Bren Darlin and Hoth Leia would fit much better. And instead of giving us two Snowtroopers they should have included a small base. I really do not understand why TLG does let us wait for years and years until we possibly might get a decent Hoth Base or at least some small additional sets you can add to the already Hoth related ones in order to build a complete base. (E. g. the medical droid is released this year - so why didn' they throw in him, injured Luke and a small medical room instead of these many (partly dispensable and senseless) minifigs?!) Apart from this I must admit that I might perhaps buy the new AT-AT nevertheless since I do not own any AT-AT - and all in all I must say that it isn't too bad. Btw: There surely won't be any other scenery or a speeder bike being included in this sets - otherwise TLG surely would have added it to the picture. The only "interior" I can imagine in the AT-AT is a small cockpit absolutely similar to the one of the motorized version and two til four seats for the Snowies in the big part. Tribolego, since I can't pm you, I have to ask you following although this doesn't belong to this topic: 1. Are there pictures of sets of Lego City sets, too? 2. If so, are there pictures of 8403 City House (La maison Lego City) and 8404 Public Transport? 3. If so, can you please take some clear pictures of these sets, too? Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! I voted for: Limit big LEGO sets to one-two themes only For me these themes are firstly City (no CC-styled sets or other Creator sets) and secondly Star Wars (only the old triology and no UCS sets). My preferences might change - depending on the quality and quantity of those large Exclusives. E. g. if we get some good Western Exclusives I would kick out Star Wars. I think the reason is very simple: mainly the lack of money - but even the lack of space. E. g. I would like to buy the awesome Imperial Flagship, too, but I simply have absolutely no money left. And I wouldn't know where to display it - but this set would have the right to be displayed. Apart from that it wouldn't make nuch sense to buy it anyway since I do not collect Pirates sets. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, CopMike! The chearleader looks simply  - definitely outstanding! I can't await these minifigs to come out - esp. that chearleader, the nurse, the cowboy, the Indian, the magician and the clown from the first wave and all minifigs (apart from the explorer, the vampire, the policeman and the witch) from the second wave. Btw: The first wave will be released in June and the second in September, am I right? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, Mark! So the new trains can be powered either buy batteries you include in the in the set included battery box or buy replacing the battery box and include a seperately bought rechargeable battery box in the train. That's really a good opportunity! If only the rechargeable battery box with recharger isn't that highly expensive (nearly 85 Euros) - I would be really happy if I get the Cargo Train (without rechargeable battery box and recharger) at all! Btw: Looking at your examples I must admit that I'm really surprised that there indeed seem to be some stations where you can get inside the train from both sides. Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! I bet - and of course hope - that TLG will continue the Farm theme in the next years, too. Of course there won't be as many sets in one year like in 2009 - but that doesn't matter and is even good so since we want to get some new or "new" themes, too, don't we?! But I think that Farm got one of TLG's all-time selling themes since kids surely like it as much as construction, fire or police. So one medium sized set and one Impulse set or small set (like this year) is the best and supposably even most realistic possibility. And when you look e. g. through our forum you will see that many of us City fans are really in the new Farm theme. Plus I think that if last year's Farm sets would have sold very badly, TLG wouldn't have given us the Piglets Enclosure and won't give us the Farmer Impulse. All in all: As long as not a new City subtheme which contains many animals (such as e. g. a zoo or a circus theme (but only as a whole theme and not only one (exclusive) set) will be released, I bet and hope we'll see some Farm sets every year. As for which sets I'd like to see: -tractor with plow -potatoe/vegetable harvester -carport with tractor, cylinder mower, hay bale compactor and manure-barrel -field with vegetables/plants and scarecrow -greenhouse and vegetable patch -farm house with decent in- and exterior -chicken barn -sheep on grazing land -milk truck with milking machine and cow -horse barn -wood cutter and transporter -farm shop -quadbike with trailer (I marked the for me most important.) Klaus-Dieter Edit: 'Forgot the milk truck.

These are all great ideas! A forest/mountain theme would indeed have a big potential to get a whole new theme (and not only one or two seperate sets): forester's hut with all-terrain vehicle, forester, his wife, a lumberjack, two deer, gun and a lot of brick-built trees and plants (70 Euros) lake camp with mountain landscape, tent, small hut, pontoon, all-terrain vehicle with trailer and small motor boat, bear, grandfather, grandmother and two grandchildren (50 Euros) wood cutter and transporter with two lumberjacks and wood pieces (30 Euros) poachers with pick-up with trailer, cage, trap, guns and bear (20 Euros) ranger with quadbike (5 Euros) hunter with gun, deer and tree (3 Euros) wanderer with rucksack, shrub and guidepost (3 Euros) Btw: I posted some ideas for a folk festival/fair theme already many pages ago here but didn't receive any feedback on it til now. So would you like a fair theme? And if yes what do you think about my ideas? Klaus-Dieter
