Hello everybody! Since TLG luckily continues the Farm theme a farm shop - apart from a farm house which imo has of course first priority - would be a great addition. So since long I wanted to design a farm shop with LDD. (For those which possibly do not know what a farm shop is: it's a small shop directly located next to the farm where you can buy mainly food which was mainly produced at the farm itself.) Here you are: Farm Shop Go to the Farm Shop in order to get some fresh milk, cheese, sausages, juice and apples direct from the farm! This set includes a farm shop with big refrigerator, female shop owner, boy and a lot of accessory. Like always in my newer MOCsets the seperate floors can be taken off for better playability: Two more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! That's a very nice MOC, Legoliner Pilot! I really it! The playground looks really nice! Adding some more attachements for playing such as e. g. a slide and/or a swing would be nice - but I know that in LDD it's a bit difficult. The idea of making a castle playground is great! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

These are some awesome City elements, BlueBard! I really them! These look absolutely realistic and very detailed! The only thing I do not like is the trousers of the kebap seller. Otherwise they are perfect! The most I like the kebpap stand and the flower car. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

I would prefer to see all these not that interesting themes Fire, Police and Construction Site only every 6 years instead of every 3 years. But the list and pics for the first half of next year's sets show that TLG very supposably will not get away from releasing every 3 years these themes - even not although they asked us for input for new City sets and themes. So it's clear that there'll be again a new Police theme in January 2011. I could well imagine that TLG will continue to sell some small sets which sell very well - like e. g. the small police car - even after/during the release of a new Police theme. Btw: It's really strange that we haven't heard anything about sets for the second half of 2010 (although rumours for SW, Toy Story and PP appeared already a long while ago). It's time that we get some rumours - or at least some hints - to discuss about. Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, BlueBard. Thanks, Captain Genaro. I thought that the corn would make it looking more realistic plus being some accessory. Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you, chriz! A bank with armored security truck is absolutely needed and a skyscraper would be great, too. Btw: Welcome to EB, chriz! A zoo would surely be an awesome set, Macoco! And I even do not understand why TLG brought back Fire and Airport this year plus very supposably the Trains theme although there could be done such many awesome civilian sets which partly would be appealing to JFOLs, too, e. g. esp. a zoo. The big plus of a zoo from TLG's point of view is even that there are many exotic animal molds already produced (e. g. elephant), partly even in today's sets (e. g. crocodile) and partly in future sets (e. g. camel). Plus one new mold for a tiger or lion would surely not be that a problem. And zoo could even be a whole new theme (like Farm) in order to get many different sets in all price classes, in order to get many different exotic animals, in order to get some zoo service vehicles and some nice civilian minifigs plus a new torso for a zoo worker. That's an awesome MOC, Legostein! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and the details are stunning! I mainly like how you built the glass dome on top and the small columns in front of the entry. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's a very funny MOC, Jammiedodger714! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and the details are stunning! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

What is Your Favorite Modular Building?
Klaus-Dieter replied to Legoliner Pilot's topic in LEGO Town
That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! I voted for the 10185 Green Grocer Although I'm no fan of CC styled buildings I voted for this option since I think that the Green Grocer ist the best of these three since the Cafe Corner includes no interior and the Fire Brigade includes a vehicle which is much too old if you want to add this set to a nowadays' city. Plus the Green Grocer is the first (regrettably CC-styled) grocery and even includes a lot of awesome interior downstairs. Klaus-Dieter -
If TLG Were to Revisit a Castle Faction
Klaus-Dieter replied to Sir Dillon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's a great and very interesting topic, Sir Dillon! It was very hard to vote for only one option since all Castle sets til 2000 were imo great. But the most I want to see a comeback of the Forestmen I see a great opportunity in this theme if TLG came back with it. There could be stuff included for everyone's taste: vehicles, catapults, castles, big trees, animals and a lot of different minifigures. Do only think about how great a set would be that included a carriage with a princess, a coachman and a soldier driving in between two big brick-built trees and three forestmen coming down from the trees, attacking the carriage and taking away the treasure and the princess. The Forestmen theme from the early 90s was great - but the buildings were partly too small and interior really lacked. So now TLG could really give us some awesome tree huts and carriages. Plus the forestmen could/would necessarily include some regular knights, too, since the forestmen must have someone to attack. And did you even think about that even the knights could attack the forestmen's village? So plenty of playability plus a fabulous landscape with many brick-built trees and rocks. I totally agree with you, Rick! There has been enough fantasy in the Castle theme in the last years. Even if a medieval theme is not possible since it would perhaps not be that interesting for many kids TLG could/should at least release more non-fantasy and realistic looking Castle sets. Congratulations to Kris Kelvin, Nexus7 and Cagri! And many thanks to TheBrickster for organising this great contest! It was really a lot of fun to build my entry and to paricipate. Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! The locomotive as well as the carriage both look very realistic! Only three ideas for improvement: Please remove the yellow hands from the ghost and give him white ones. I'd use a different style of lettering for the "Ghost Line" writing - perhaps a more ancient style of lettering so it would look more gloomy. I'd add a door to the locomotive. There is really enough place so it looks a bit empty and strange when there is none. I know that train doors aren't available in purple - but you could try with hinges. Otherwise it's perfect! The details on the locomotive are stunning and I mainly like the colors - purple and black do work very well for your ghost train! Very, very well done! Btw: Since this train could well be used for Western: Will this train appear - with some minifigs and some additional stuff - in your Grave Stone collection, too? Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, the Inventor! Imo every Western town has to include a farm. And I really do agree with you: It's really a pity that LDD doesn't offer at least some horses. Plus more different torsos for the minifigures would be needed. Thanks, Steve! You're right about the storefront of the farm building: it could very well be located in a town, too. But I simply thought that to have a Western building which is not always only white, tan or brown would be a variety. Thanks, TheBrickster! I already thought, too, that the windmill looks more than a machine for oil drilling and so wanted firstly to remove the round connector (from the wings upside to the ground) but it did imo not look that good - a bit empty. You're supposably right about the not that right architectual style of the roof of the farm house - but I simply wanted to have a bit more variety in color and desgin (and TLG does btw not always design everything completely realistic, too). I indeed took the stall from the Farm set as archetype since I did not really know how to build it. It doesn't look that awesome but it's ok I think. I'm glad to hear that you like the interior! The idea of adding a scarecrow to the field is great! Yes, exactly that way, lego40k. You take one thin 1x2 with two hinges and one thin 1x2 on which you can clip it. On top of one of them there you add a regular thin 1x2 - and on it the white plate. Thanks, Commodore Hornbricker! It is the regular blue (not light blue and not dark blue). Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! The last two days I tried to design a Western farm with the new LDD. Here is the outcome: Western Farm Welcome to the Western Farm! There is a lot to do: Looking after the cattles, watering the plants and having a ride to the next town to buy some things you need. After work you can sit inside your comforatble living room in front of the chimney and later go to bed. This set includes a big farm building with living room and sleeping room, a stable, a windmill, two cattles, a horse, a dog, the farmer, his wife, his son, a farm hand and a lot of accessory. The roof and the upper floor oft he building can be easily taken away for better playability. Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Thanks, Sajer! The idea of adding a table with a chair to it that someone can sit next to the greenhouse is great! Plus I do completely agree with you that a greenhouse would be a perfect addition to the Farm theme. Btw: Welcome to EB, Sajer! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, Navy Trooper Fenson! I'll wait and see what is included in there. But like Macoco already mentioned it very surely will be something for Police, Fire or Construction - so very supposably nothing relevant for me. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this information, Navy Trooper Fenson! I'll wait til I know what's included before I'll order it since some of the BM sets until now were good but some even bad. So let's see. Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, badboytje88! I voted for No! This is not WW as we know it. This is a licensed set from Toy Story. For people which like to get some Toy Story Lego sets it's surely a great set. And for some MOCers there might even be some good parts to get and collect. But for a real Lego Western fan generally every licensed Western set is no real Western set - totally independant from whether the licensed set is designed good or bad. The only chance I see in TLG releasing some Toy Story licensed Western sets is that this might again attract the interest of many JFOLs towards a possible new Western theme some time later. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the new picture of the Landspeeder, NavyTrooperFenson! Now in the clear picture the Lanspeeder does look much better and not that oversized. It's a pity that we don't get that spy - but I already feared that. But like it seems the Sandtrooper owns exactly the same backpack like the one in the Mos Eisley Cantina set - that's great since then they both fit very well together. Klaus-Dieter

Wow, it's great to see so many people being interested in a new Lego Western theme! Thank you all very much for signing up and the many nice comments! Thank you very much, Bonaparte! This would be great! Although I after years of collecting new and used WW sets I luckily now own all WW sets from 1996 and 1997, I really would like TLG coming back with a new Western theme. Like already mentioned in my first post there is still that much to do which wasn't done in these two years (like a saloon, a stage coach, a train with station, ...) and of course some classics (like a fort, a bank, a sheriff's office, ...) could be done again! Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome City MOC, Legoliner! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and could very well be an official set (then I immediately would buy it)! Although you could have included one more kid or one more woman instead of one of the male minifigures I really like the minifigure selection. The interior of the two buildings is excellent! (Great idea for the PaB walls!) Only one idea for improvement: The sign on the roof of the cafe would look better if it was bigger. For the stand-alone bus station I'd propose to either include a bus in a non-yellow color (I think white and perhaps even black would be possible with LDD) - or do not include the bus station but a small taxi stand and a taxi (two taxis would never be included in one and the same set - even not in an Exclusive). Otherwise it's great! LDD is alway totally overpriced since these are individual products and no products which can be sold to a large audience. If TLG released a set like this for regular sale they'd change one or other thing (but surely not very much since it still is nearly perfect)and in the end it surely wouldn't be more than 70 Euors. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Here are my answers/thoughts: I visit CT only very seldom. I'd like to see other themes included in CT. (But aren't there already other themes apart from City/Town?! If I remember right I commented in spring to some Ninja Fortress and another Ninja MOC.) Since Caslte and Pirates belong to the classic line of Lego themes I'd say it wouldn't be wrong if they were included in CT, too. Plus other themes with classic or very near to classic elements/structures: Ninja, Adventures, Western. Model Team/Technic would surely for some people very interesting, too. I'd like to see more MOC highlighting/spotting. News about upcoming sets and reviews do imo mot make much sense to put there. Like on BB and many other websites then there is only discussed again and again the same which already has been discussed and reported on EB (at least in the most cases it's the case, not in all). But MOCs are something mostly inimitable since everyone has his or her own style and technic how to build. Imo CT is above average. The banner and the design of the homepage are great - as do the articels with very friendly, interesting and sometimes even a bit funny explanations, descriptions and little stories. I personally do like all types of Town/City MOCs (nearly) equally. Of course there are some in which I'm more interested (like e. g. shops, family houses, ...) and some in which I'm less interested (e. g. airplanes and trains). But imo it would be wrong to only concentrate on some of them and pass on some of the others since the mixture makes it - having different types of MOCs makes your site much more attractive and interesting than only to specialise on some few of them. All in all I must say that you, WhiteFang and Hinckley are doing a great job with CT (as well as of course here on EB, too)! Keep on the good work! Klaus-Dieter

That's a great idea, curtisdlee! I don't own an own homepage so I decided to post a petition here on EB: Here you go! Please sign in and btw welcome to EB, curtisrlee! Klaus-Dieter
