Thank you all very much for your nice comments! I'm really glad to hear that you like it. Of course you may. Of course it's possible to build your own school, peterab. But when you change a set or add something to a set then it's a MOC/MOD - but no longer the official set. And a school in the City line hasn't been released until now. I firstly thought about that, too, but the chair in the class room would then be in front of the door that you directly move towards it. Klaus-Dieter

It's really cruel of TLG that they didn't reveal neither 10212 nor the AT-AT at NY Toy Fair! Everyone was looking that much forward to NY Toy Fair to see 10212 - but TLG didn't present it there. Last year the exclusive AT-OT (=> 10212) was released at NY Toy Fair and the Venator (=> AT-AT). But this year absolutely nothing apart from the already seen pictures of the summer sets now in reality. What's the matter with Lego?! Klaus-Dieter

It's really cruel of TLG that they didn't reveal the Fan's Choice set at NY Toy Fair! Everyone was looking that much forward to NY Toy Fair to see the Fan's Choice set - but TLG didn't present it there. The only argument I could imagine why TLG didn't release it is that the possible truck stop didn't get that many positive feed-back when the rumour of it appeared. So maybe they decided to release the Public Transportation Center or City Square instead - but need now time to finalise one of them (since they originally didn't plan to release it). Even all the new Train sets weren't shown. The only new sets of the second half of 2010 they presented there were the Lego Truck and the Farmer Impulse. The last years always all summer sets (apart from the hard to find items like CG Platform and Wind Turbine Transport) were shown there. What's the matter with Lego?! @ lightningtiger: I think that TLG and TRU did tell you something wrong - they surely only wanted to keep the new secret. Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely amazing MOC, Tom Bricks! I really it! The modern and with very much glass included architecture looks superb and very realistic! I mainly like the glass roof and the interior details. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's really a great City MOC, lightningtiger! I really it! You're absolutely right: big trucks are nice - but we even want small ones. But now to your MOC: It looks absolutely realisitc! I really like that you included car doors and stickers and that it is not bigger than six wide! Only one idea for improvement (then your MOC would be really awesome): you should add some doors to the back of the truck/container, adding one minifig, a pushcart or pallette joe and some cargo stuff. Otherwise it's perfect! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! When thinking about which City sets TLG has already done and which not I remarked that TLG hasn't been releasing a school until now - what a pity since the most of us AFOLs as well as many young JFOLs would really one. So I decided to design a school with LDD (already about one year ago). Here is the result: School (Pieces: 331) The bell rings - the school begins. Which lesson will be first - Emglish or chemistry? And what do you do in the break - sitting on the bench in the school yard and eat your snack or playing basketball? This set contains a school with entrance, regular classroom and chemistry lab, school yard with a bench, mailbox and basketball place, teacher, crossing guard, two girls, two boys and a lot of accessory. Overwiew: The two class rooms: Some more pics can be found in this folder (when public) of my BS gallery. Please let me explain why I exactly chose these elements included: 1. Minifigs: Of course there have to be some pupils - two boys and two girls. And of course there even has to be a teacher. The crossing guard is there that the pupils can cross the street without danger - he could even be used as second teacher or as an older pupil. 2. Exterior design: The architecture should look like some of the older European school buildings. And it should look different to the regular type of buildings TLG normally uses for functional buildings such as fire and police HQs. Of course there has to be a basketball busket in the school yard where the pupils can play in the breaks or after school. The bench is there for the pupils and teachers to sit and have a snack or simply relax. 3. Interior desgin: Since this MOC should be similar to a possibly official Lego City set (therefore even the classification "MOCset" in the subtitle) space and bricks are limited. So I decided to include two class rooms: One regular one with the classic blackboard and two tables with seats for the pupils - that's the more classical room which is really needed but perhaps not that exiting. More exiting is the second room, the chemistry lab, which can of course be used as class room for physics and biology, too. It includes one table for the pupils to experiment and one other table and a secured glass cupboard (I regrettably can't remember the real name - chemistry lessons are to far away in the past) to show some experiments to his/her pupil. Between those two rooms there is the entrance with a small floor. Safes would have been very neat there but there is regrettably no space for them left. 4. Accessory: Of course there have to be some backpacks, some "books" and some experimental stuff for the pupils. Plus some letters for the mail box. If there was a basket ball included in LDD I of course would have added it, too. Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter

Tombclone: Ye Olde Stage Coach MOC
Klaus-Dieter replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is a totally awesome Western MOC, I Scream Clone! I really it! The stage coach looks absolutely realistic and the landscape with all its details is stunning! The only thing I don't like that much is the brick-built legs and feet of the woman inside the stage coach. Plus imo it would be look more realistic and more imposing to have two or four horses in front of the stage coach (with only one horse pulling this huge stage coach I think that this horse will soon brake down ). The most I like the landscape and the minifigs. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
This is a totally awesome Western MOC, Tom Bricks! I really it! The wagon looks absolutely realistic, the minifigs fit perfectly and the accessory you added is great! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Yes, I mean that black round 2x2, peterab. But the red and green container will (after the prelim pic) not be included in the cargo train set - only the small yellow and the big red one. Klaus-Dieter

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for the new pic, The Alchemyst, Oky Wan Kenobi and legomilk! Series 2 is definately even better although series 1 is already awesome! The most of these minfigs are really - esp. the singer, the lifeguard, the judoka and the pharao. Combined with the drum kit and the piano of the City Advent Calendar the singer and that guy with the big black hair could be put together to a small band! Btw: Shall that new policeman be a SWAT union? Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you all very much for the links to the new pics! Farmer Impulse A good possibility to get some pigs seperately or additionaly - but not more than that. Since we already have got enough regular adult farm workers: Why didn't they include a girl, boy or grandma?! Lego Truck It's great to see that the driver's cab includes a bed and a screen. The mini Lego sets look simply . I only thing about which I'm a bit disappointed is that the actual version seems to include much less mini Lego sets than shown on the prelim picture. Now only the Lego Store is missing! Advent Calendar No police men, no fire fighters, no street cleaners - but much civilian life! This is a lot of awesome and lovely looking civilian stuff! The most I like the new green torso, the whole family, the sofa, the toy plane, the piano, the drum kit and the half pipe with skateboard! Definately very useful and lovely additions to our Lego Cities. It's a pity that the small train has not place for minifigs to sit inside. Only the snowman looks scelettical with those arms. Santa under the shower is imo a bit out of place in a set mainly addressed to kids. With the many toys included in the advent calendar I think it's time that I'll built a big sandbox in which the kids from my Legostadt can play with them (since neither in the Winter Toy Shop nor in the new City House all these toys will have place). Does someone know whether bigger tan plates (minimum 8x8) exist and are available? Btw: Do you, too, think that the new green torso will be used in the TRU Exclusive or at least in the City House set? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for these pics of the new magnet sets, Navy Trooper Fenson! I don't need another Han - but it's great to see that we're getting an extra Ewok and Scout Trooper! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the pics, Oky Wan Kenobi! Bossk and Boba look imo . Looking at Bossk only the green skin color disturbs. Sorry but the white Boba looks like chewing gum. Regrettably the picture is very unclear where General Veers is set - so you can't see whether he has a new torso or only the one from the Snowtrooper BP is used. Can someone find a clearer picture on him? That would be really nice. The torso and head of the medical droid look really - the only thing which disturbs is that the legs and arms are in different color to the torso and head. I really hope that one day TLG will release a big (or small) Hoth Base scenery with the tank in which Luke swims, an injured Luke, Major Bren Darlin and that new medical droid - that would be ! Btw: I still noticed that there will be even two (and not only one) Snowtroopers in the AT-AT. That means eight minifigs + the AT-AT + very supposably and hopefully some small base. Man - that will be getting a very expensive set (I fear 150 won't suffice)! Klaus-Dieter

I wonder whether there'll be that special brick with the whole to stick it to the crane hook on top of the Lego container as well as the big red container or only one for both. Do you think that if you have two tracks parallel beneath the cargo loading station there is still place that the truck can drive under it? Btw: I'm really surprised that the new Train sets don't appear at NY TF (until now) since they were already shown at Nuremberg TF. Klaus-Dieter

Well, over in the SW forum Darth Legolas mentioned that 10195 was revealed the last day of NY TF 2009. So you might be right and we'll see the TRU Exclusive firstly on Wednesday. Let's hope. Somewhere a lot of pages back lightningtiger posted a quote with link to some website where someone affirmed that there will be released a flagship set for City fans in June which will be shown on NY TF. So you think that this was possibly a lie? Klaus-Dieter

That's a great and very interesting topic, TheBrickster! I voted for Boat/Ship Of course all these vehicles you listed are very important and I would not like to dispense with any of them. But boats and ships have imo a completely particular "charisma". Perhaps that's because of I really like the sea that much. I know that I always wanted some Lego ships when I was a young boy - and I still want them. There is a lot of playability since you most of the time do not only get the ship on its own but even a lot of accessory, cargo stuff, minifigs and sometimes even a peer, a crane and an additional vehicle. So what do you want more?! Imo the cargo ship from 2007 was really great. And even the CG Platform was a nice set. So I hope TLG will come back with some more ships and harbor sets next year. Esp. I would like to get a tanker with oil raffinery and even more an oil rig and/or a pleasure cruiser with decent interior - that would be a dream becoming real! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this link to the minifig pictures, Skyward72! To the AT-AT: It's great to get General Veers, Luke and a Rebel Trooper included. And it's great to see that the AT-AT will be Hoth and not Endor related. It's bad that so (it's very supposably that) the cockpit of the AT-AT will only hold one AT-AT Driver. Besides it's really a pity that they didn't include Major Bren Darlin instead of the regular Rebel Trooper. This would be totally awesome, Clone O'Patra! Since the AT-AT will be to my knowledge a non-exclusive set and since the AT-AT itself is already very huge it's of course very unlickely that we're getting a decent base. But if we've got much luck we might get a small control room with entrance and a laser cannon in front of it. I mean: Without any small room it wouldn't have made any sense to include C-3PO and Han, don't you agree?! I really hope that TLG will this time manage to give us the real General Veers minifig - meaning with four red and blue signs (instead of only three red and blue signs the Imperial Officer has). But in this point I'm regrettably very pessimistic. With me luckily earning the Hoth Rebel Base, the Echo Base and even planning to get this year's Hoth BPs and the Wampa Cave I must say that I really welcome it that the AT-AT will be Hoth related and not Endor related. Since I haven't got an AT-AT until now this gives me the possibility to build up a whole (Battle of) Hoth diorama. I didn't know that 10195 was firstly revealed the last day. So there is still hope that we'll see 10212 (and the AT-AT) then (and hopefully even the City fan's choice set). The only thing I fear is that with the AT-AT being not Endor related, 10212 might be an UCS set (like the MF from 2007) and no playset (like Home One). Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this link, Zorbas! The contents of the advent calendar regrettably can't been seen very well. It seems as if we're getting that strange small train shown on the cover, again a Xmas tree and a chimney, some minifigs, some airport stuff and some things I can not see clearly. All in all it seems to look very well. The Lego Truck looks really . It's very unlickely that 8403 City House will be shown there since last year's Wind Turbine Transport wasn't shown on NY TF 2009, too. But I totally agree with you AlaPo which concern 8404! The were rumors that the Fan's Choice set will be revealed at NY Toy Fair (like last year's Star Wars Fan's Choice set was, too). Maybe TLG will show 8404 firstly at the end of NY Toy Fair. That sounds imo really unrealistic. Nevertheless I hope so. Otherwise I'll be getting very angry. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the links to the pics! Boba Fett, Greedo and Han in carbonite look really . But why aren't there any pics of the AT-AT and of 10212?! Maybe TLG will show these sets firstly at the end of NY Toy Fair. That sounds imo really unrealistic. Nevertheless I hope so. Otherwise I'll be getting very angry. Klaus-Dieter

Romans or Greeks/Spartans
Klaus-Dieter replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is still a bit off-topic but nevertheless: It was only said that those minifigures of the Minifigure series and their accessory will be unique and not appear in any other sets this year. But what about the years after?! I'm quiet sure that there will be a new historical theme in 2011 or at the latest in 2012. I mean: How many different fantasy themes have we got in this and last year?! Space Police 3, World Racers, Atlantis and Power Miners - so two more than historical themes (Pirates and Kingdoms). TLG knows what their fans want. And releasing always only Castle as a historical theme (independant from the quality and quantity of its sets) gets from time to time really boring. And TLG even gives away a lot of profit since there are a lot of AFOLs as well as JFOLs which would like to see some other historical theme than only Castle. If you ask me, we'll get a new historical theme either in 2011 or 2012 and it will either be Western (which I personally would prefer) or Romans. Klaus-Dieter -
Thanks prateek. Thanks Ras. I'll firstly have to look whether I generally own these two plates for the bottom of the city scooter. If not I'll have to order them via PaB - but then it would take a while until I will take and show pics since I do not order for only two bricks but wait until I have a whole list of more bricks I want and need. But I know that I own the handlebar - it is in black but nevertheless. At the moment I'm not aible to take any pics - but immediately when I'll be aible to I'll take some and show them to you. Klaus-Dieter

That's an outstanding MOC, Widdi! I really it! It looks absolutely realistic and in a very official Lego set style! The only thing I'd change would be to have the Schirmbar open on one side - like you did with the main building. Otherwise it's perfect! The most I like the Schirmbar and all that lovely interior designs. And of course the classic cars, the motor slide and the many minifigs and accessory. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

To me it firstly did, too. But since the Wind Turbine Transport is sold this year in regular toy shops, too, I don't wonder. And not only adults but even kids will surely love it. I totally agree with you, Mission Commander! Of course the 10199 Winter Toy Shop is an outstanding set - but a Lego Store for your regular (non-winterly) City is nevertheless needed. On the one hand I disagree with you since if City Square won it could have been anything which has to do with civilian life: hotel, café, grocery, bank, ... and even a Lego Store. On the other hand I agree with you that it is regrettably very, very unsupposably that we'll see a Lego Store this year: firstly it seems as if TLG decided to release the Truck Stop and not the City Square or the Public Transportation Center as the TRU Fan's Choise Exclusive and secondly the 10199 Winter Toy Shop is still available and will be even sold in regular toy shops this year. Klaus-Dieter

Thanks lightningtiger. I thought a while about how to design the scooter - and then I thought with using these plates it surely would look plausible. Thanks ImLost. Indeed I would really have liked to use this part you descripe - but I regrettably didn't find it in LDD. Klaus-Dieter
