@ KimT: Why I think that there will be a second exclusive 1021x SW set? Because the last years we always got two Exclusives, too. So why no this year, too? I totally agree with you, Big Cam! I, too wanted this set! But unluckily TLG releases an UCS Imp. Shuttle instead. Already the price tells us that it can't be a regular Imp. Shuttle (which would be maximum 90 Euros with all figs from that poster) with landing platform (about 20-30 Euros) since then the price would be around 100-120 Euros (like last year's Mon Cal Cruiser) - but not 260 Euros. Thank you very much for these detailed and clear pics, Grogall! Only to give a very short comment (since I'm very busy at the moment): All in all the new Train sets are really awesome! But the main con is that they don't include the rechargeable battery. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this great review, der seb! I voted for outstanding since this set is a perfect redesign of the classic Lego Truck. Con: -doors only 4 studs tall (instead of 5 studs) -with 30 Euros imo too expensive (25 would have been ok) Pro: -two minifigs -driver's cab with bed and screen -mini Lego sets Klaus-Dieter

REVIEW: 8683 Minifig series 1 -, minifig #11 The Nurse
Klaus-Dieter replied to Holodoc's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for this great review, Holodoc! I voted for oustanding since the nurse is for sure one of the best minifigs of the two minifig series: great torso, neat face and hair and syringe. Klaus-Dieter -
Since in 2008 we got Vader's TIE Fighter as mid-scale set in the awesome 10188 DS and then 2009 Vader's TIE Fighter as a regular set (not mid-scale): Do you think that the second SW Exclusive might be a new MF? Maybe with Hoth Leia, Chewie, injured Luke, Major Bren Darlin, medical droid and a small medical room and/or command center (both as extra locations which are not included in the MF itself but in the set)? Or do you think that we already know now all ESB sets for this year and that the second SW Exclusive will be something totally different or even not from the OT? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for the pic of 10213, Holodoc! The space shuttle looks nice - but is for me really not a must have. The two things which disturb me the most are that the tower is missing and that the shuttle looks very "Creator-like" (esp. that the minfigs for sure can't look through the windows). And I don't like that it is - like e. g. the Grand Carroussel and all these SW UCS and mid-scale sets - a stand alone set which doesn't really go very well with any other theme and which you can only place somewhere on a cupboard and that's it. I totally agree with you, Zzz! Esp. the Space themes from around 1995 and around 2000 were brilliant and fit very well with the City theme. So why doesn't TLG release a space shuttle in a whole new Space theme?! Anyway I would have no money to buy and no place to display and store some Space sets - so I don't care and are lucky that 10213 is not that a set I really must have. Klaus-Dieter

Refering to legomilk's post on page 114, 8404 and 7848 will both be released this year. And even think about that the last two years we always had one exclusive 10xxx City set (2008: 10184 Town Plan, 2009: 10199 Winter Toy Shop). Although I highly doubt it, this may even be the case this year, too, and so the City Square might be the 10xxx City Exclusive for this year (10214 or 10215). Klaus-Dieter

Hello everybody! While searching through the sets list for this year in brickipedia - originally in order to see whether there is some more information on the upcoming second TRU set - I found following: 10213 Space Shuttle - 10213 TBA {Space Shuttle} is an upcoming LEGO exclusive set based on the Space theme. It is said to be a minifigure scale space shuttle, with 3 minifigures and 1204 pieces. - News is reaching us at Brickset HQ of a previously unknown Lego-exclusive, 10xxx-series set, expected to be available very soon. Set #10213 is said to be a minifigure-scale Space Shuttle, with 3 figures and 1204 parts. No news yet on price or availability, but expect it to be hitting the shelves of Lego Brand Stores very soon. More info was we receive it ! - These posts can be found on brickipedia as well as on brickset. What do you think? I personally can well imagine that it is no wrong information. I mean: There has to be one exclusive Creator set (like last year's Grand Carroussel. EDIT: Some more information from brickset: - #10213 is a model of one of the NASA Space Shuttles; it includes the exterior fuel tank, the solid-fuel booster rockets, & part of the launch platform; no service tower though. Two of the figs fit in the cockpit; the third looks like a photographer, there to snap pictures of the take-off. - Klaus-Dieter Edit by WhiteFang New hi-res image is made available. Thanks to Eurobricks member, grogall for bringing us this news.

This is a great and very interesting topic, awesomebrick! I nearly always buy a set because of the whole set - so even the minifigs, but not only them, but even vehicles, buildings and accessory. It's only sometimes with very small sets (esp. Impulse sets) that I buy some of them, collect the bricks and only use the minifigs which I most of the time then put together indivdually. But the most of the time - esp. when sets are more than 10 Euros - I really don't buy them only because of the minifigs. That would be much too expensive. When I only want the minifigs of an expensive set, I try the customer's service or/and Ebay. Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this great review, schlaouich! I voted for above average since this is imo a great set - but there are two cons which make it not outstanding: Con: -no Tauntaun -again Zev Scenesca (This character/minifigure is great, but TLG should either have included it in the BP or in this set - but not in both!) Pro: -Snowspeeder would be not necessary, but is a good addition for playability -great style of the cave -finally a Wampa -finally a Hoth Luke minifigure Klaus-Dieter

So all the three options of the poll will be released?! I, too, think more that the toy shop will be included in the City Square than in the Truck Stop set. That there shall be a TRU truck in addition to the toy shop, is no counter argument for getting a truck stop nevertheless since the 8404 City Public Transportation will include a truck, too. And like I already mentioned: Since legomilk only posted the pics of the truck stop and the public transportaion center here, I bet and fear that we'll see the third option - namely the city square - firstly next year. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this information, Mirandir! I really hope that your sources are right since this sounds awesome! So I'd bet that we firstly will see the City Square option in 2011. A truck stop with a toy store?! You have to admit that this sounds really strange - esp. since we got a toy store already last year (the awesome 10199 Winter Toy Shop). But a Lego Store would be possible - and be a dream becoming real! Nevertheless since sounds strange to me. And what's about the other contents of the truck stop set? I mean: If it only included a TRU truck and a small toystore it wouldn't be named truck stop but toy store. Klaus-Dieter
-
You say it, Ferdik. And if it came with tracks, it would have to include all that PF stuff, too. That means that the price will be near to the new Passenger Train - and I don't hope and expect that 8404 will be more than 150 Euros (supposably more around 100 Euros). I looked again at my plan for my final layout (hopefully I will somewhen in the future have really that place I need for it) and changed completely my mind regarding the "driving function" of the tram: Since I will never have that place to run a tram on tracks, I really hope that it will run on hidden wheels (like e. g. the 8091 Republic Swamp Speeder). So it can even drive directly on the road (and not only next to it) which is more realistic anyway. That's a great idea, Macoco! Since we'll get either another truck or even a whole truck stop as the second TRU Exclusive, even another huge truck (like 3221) would imo get boring. Much more exciting would be a limonade truck or a food delivery truck. At the best would be if 8404 included not only the vehicles already confirmed (and of course two small stations), but even a salll snackbar with delivery truck (for the snacks and drinks sold there). Btw: Since we got a pizzeria last year in the awesome 7641 City Corner: Do you think that the "truck" mentioned in 8404 could be a pizza delivery car? (Although many of you surely would like that, I'd prefer a regular food/limonade truck since I already own the pizza delivery car included in the set Pizza to Go.) It's not sure yet. I personally wouldn't count on it - although a whole truck stop would of course be great and be much more interesting than only a truck in different colors to 3221. Klaus-Dieter

LEGO Collectable Minifigures General Discussion
Klaus-Dieter replied to Nabii's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Thank you very much for this barcode list, Holodoc! Since I have the luck to be a bit friendly with one of my local toy shop owners, I bet he won't have something against when I go into his depot, take this list with me and then buy only the minifigs I want. Or at least I hope so since there are some minifigs I do not want (e. g. robot and space man) and some minifigs I want multiple (e. g. cowboy and chearleader). Klaus-Dieter -
Again about the tram: I hope its wheels will be track compatible - meaning: you could push along the tram without tracks and without PF stuff if you want to, but if you want to run it on tracks (and with PF stuff) you have the opportunity to do this, too, without MOCing this set. About the bicycle: I could well imagine that TLG does this three wheels big bicycle. Which sense would it make to do a new mold for a regular bicycle since the current one is great (apart from that we nearly always do only get it in red)?! I originally thought that, too, Night City Dream. But: 1. Why did legomilk then post the whole picture of the Truck Stop poll option? 2. Since the Lego Truck and the Octan Truck shown on this pic are already released, it has to be the green truck. But I thought that TRU wants to promote themselves with releasing a blue-white TRU truck (since the original name was even "TRU Truck"). Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this information, legomilk! But wait - does this mean that 7848 will not only be a truck but a whole truck stop?! Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you very much for this information, Rick! Finally some hints of which 8404 will exactly be! I wonder what a car and a truck have to do with public transport. Well, never mind. Many minifigs: Nothing preferably than that! Minifigs awake your cities to life - so you can never get enough of them! Do you think, too, that there'll be the new torsos of the stewardess, the female included in the new Creator set, the male included in the advent calendar and the boy with the hoodie included? I'd go for eight minifigs: bus driver, tram driver, cycler, car driver, truck driver, woman, boy and girl. Bicycle: Another bicycle is really not wrong - hopefully it'll be this time not in red. Car: It's good to get another car - hopefully it'll be this time with roof and car doors. Bus: It's great to get another bus - hopefully it'll be exactly the same design like the one in 7641 but in a different color. Truck: Another truck?! We already get two (til three this year)! Do you think that it'll be a green-white truck with the cargo sign on it (looking very similar to the truck in the picture of the truck stop in the poll)? Tram: I bet that the design of the tram will be very similar to the one in the poll picture. At least I'd say that it is hundred percent sure that it won't be in red color since already this year's Passenger Train will be red. And it's even very supposably that it regrettably won't include any doors since the Passenger Train regrettably doesn't include any doors, too. I bet that it'll consist of two parts. As for how it'll be running: Although it will surely be getting very difficult to place some tracks on your baseplates, I hope that it runs on 4 or 6 studs wide tracks - and not with hidden wheels. About two things I'm really sure - namely that if it would run on tracks, there won't be some included and that it won't include any motor and other PF stuff (otherwise only the tram with tracks and PF stuff would already be a price near to the Passenger Train - and I think that the whole set won't be more than 150 Euros). The only bad thing is that there won't be a snack bar or a kiosk included - otherwise the description would surely have advertised this. The only thing I wonder is: Won't there be some small stops (at least two) for the tram and the bus included? If there won't be some, that would be bad. All in all I must say that this might get an excellent set! The only bad news is that - since it firstly will be released in October - it's excluded that we'll get a new Winter set this year. I can't await to see some pics! But since it firstly will be released in Octobhttp://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=32210&st=1695#er, I fear that we won't see any pics before August. Does someone think that it might be shown at Brickworld? Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for this new and clear picture of the City House, Bachus! Completely right, Holodoc! How did you know? This family house looks simply  ! The architectual design of the house looks brilliant, the minifigs are great (apart from that there should be one more child), the photo-voltaic plate/solar panel is a great addition, the small tree house is beautiful and the interior looks amazing. The green dustbin, the barbecue, the mailbox, the terrace with the sun chair and the street lamp are nice additions. Which I can detect for the interior: -first floor: sink, baking oven with pot on it and table with one (two?) chair(s) -second floor: sleeping room with bed, bed table with lamp and small tabe with computer and chair -third floor: child's room with small bed, bed table with lamp (something more?) I can't await to get this awesome set! It's a perfect and really overdue addition to our cities! Btw: According to (supposably) the same website where Bachus found this picture, the City House willl be 39,95 Euros - imo a good price ratio performance. Although we're eagerly awaiting pics (or at least a description etc.) of this set, there haven't been any hints til now. But since some time back it was somewhere mentioned that it shall be released in June (which would make sense since the Mon Calamari Cruiser (which was a TRU fan's choice set, too) was released in June, too), I think and hope that we'll get some information or/and pics soon. Btw: It's strange that in this year's April there was no poll for voting for a fan's choice set (equally of which Lego theme). Or did I miss something? Klaus-Dieter

I totally agree with you which conerns a new fast food restaurant! But I would prefer it to be unlicensed (cheaper!) and being a big building with a decent interior and many minifigs and accessory. If Lego releases the Truck Stop as this year's TRU City fan's choice set, it would have been plausible that a fast food restaurant was included. But it'll be City Public Transport and so there'll be no fast food restaurant. But maybe TLG releases a truck stop as a regular or exclusive set in the next year - together with a fast food restaurant. Apart from that a fast food restaurant can imo be released on its own, too. And I even agree on a new City minifigure collection. There are some new torsos for the City theme coming out this year which could and should be included in a City minifigure collection like last year's one (maximum for ten Euros). Besides I'd so much like to get a redesign of following set:  And I hope that we'll get a regular sized (non-Smart) civilian car with roof and car doors and a female minifig, soon. Klaus-Dieter

Let's move westwards - Covered Waggon
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thank you very much for your nice comments, Calvin and TheBrickster! No, this one isn't new. Like you can see, the soldier's symbol is missing on it. It is only made out of paper. The original cover included in the official set is made out of some sort of cloth. But to your question: I must admit that I regrettably don't know how to clean it. Perhaps take some warm water with a bit washing agent and a brush and brush carefully over it. It was one of my first Western sets, too, and one of the minor sets which I bought not used. I really it - excellent set with awesome design and a lot of accessory and playability! Perhaps I'll do a review on it (as well as on the Boulder Cliff Canyon and the Showdown Canyon (of which both I don't remember having seen any reviews since I'm member here) - but at the moment I'm very busy. Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for this great review, CopMike! I voted for Average Pro: - awesome minifigs - great design of the Slave I - great design of the carbonite block Contra: - only three minifigs - Han is needless (since there is even no carbonite freezing chamber included in this set) - completely overpriced for which you get (even if it contains of course many bricks) - nothing really new included - no bombs to throw down - "openable storage room" is complete nonsense since (like you can see in a picture that was already posted in this topic) the carbonite block is transported on the ramp into the inside of the Slave I - and not below it - no decent cockpit (Boba has to pilot his vehicle with his feet since the control panel is located that on the bottom and he falls out of his chair since there is simply no chair) All in all: It's really a nice set - but I must say that I see no improvement over the last version. Imo the last version was even better since it included more minifigs and bombs to throw down and nevertheless was not that expensive. Of course we get a more accurate Boba and carbonite block and even a new Bossk in this new 2010 version - but imo that does not justify that price. Klaus-Dieter
-
Thank you all very much for your nice comments! It was really many hours of work til I had it how it imo finally should look like. And so I really like to hear that you like it! I totally agree with you, ACCURATEin! More stand alone stores in non-CC style are absolutely needed - esp. a Lego Store, a greengrocer and a mall. Klaus-Dieter

Let's move westwards - Covered Waggon
Klaus-Dieter replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thank you all very much for your nice comments! I really like to hear that you like it. I built the kitchen waggon because firstly I wanted to add something individual to this set (that it is not "only" a MOD) and secondly since it was in that time common that settlers took a kitchen waggon with all things they needed for their future kitchen with them. Klaus-Dieter -
Sorry guys for destroying your hopes but imo it is very unlikely that we'll get a Cloud City this year. If it is done decent - meaning bigger, with more rooms, more and new minifigs and perhaps even a Cloud Car - then it can realisiticly not be under 250 Euros (since the last one many years ago was already around 150 Euros). And since we'll already get that UCS Imperial Shuttle for 260 Euros it's firstly not likely that we'll get another 250+ Euros set this year and imo even not likely that we'll get any more OT set at all this year. Of course TLG might release a Cloud City for 150 Euros - but I bet and hope that you, too, don't want again that a small set like the previous one (which included only seven minifigs, only two new minifigs, only very few and much too small locations (apart from the landing platform)). Cloud City offers that much potential and contains even that many exctiting locations and potential minifigs that it deserves a really big set (smaller than the DS but of course much bigger than the previous version). And so I bet that we'll see less regular OT sets in 2011 but then a big CC in 2011. This would btw speak for KimTs information he got about 2011 "rocking our lifes". And which set would be more demanded and be greater than a new Cloud City (for the OT fans under us)?! Klaus-Dieter
