  1. Hello everybody! Since there are some great contests on EB at the moment (Pirates, Castle, ...) I thought it would be nice and interesting to make a Wild West contest, too. The basic idea would be - like imperialshadows organised in the Pirates contest - to design Wild West sets which TLG could release. The only problem is that I'm not aible to create a poll and don't own the administrative possibilities which are necessary. So the question firstly is: Would somebody be interested in this contest? And the second question is: Would somebody help me with the organisation? *wink* If somebody is interested I can write you more detailed information about how I thought the contest shall look like. You can contact me via PM, too. Greetings *sweet* Klaus-Dieter
  2. On the one hand I don't think that TLG actually wants to and will bring back a great medieval theme - there would have been so much outer cases changed that this will become real (e. g. violent video games would have been to forbidden). But it doesn't seem that that will become real in the next future. But on the other hand you're right because there will be a point in future when the fantasy aspect will get boring because there will be no more interesting and new ideas. And then TLG will return to sooner classic style. But until that oint will be reached it'll surely be a couple of years :-( . The only sets which I'd be interested would be: -a hut for the dwarves -a dwarf Impulse set -a nice set would contain either the witch or the female citizen from the advent calendar or both *wub* The more precise descriptions of these wishes are written down some pages ago or in the "Ideas for new Classic Castle sets" topic here on EB.
  3. Yes, let us all cross our finger! :-) My "hardcore"-mind towards the now phantasy-based "Castle" theme has changed: Everybody should get what he wants - Each to his own. ;-) In my opinion TLG could go on with all this fantasy stuff (because I anyway haven't got the money to buy and the place to store all Lego sets I want - so I'll concentrate (and am already concentrating) on SW and City) - if only they would release a S@H Exclusive with an inn, a blacksmith shop, some market stands, a medieval farm and a lot of medieval civilians. Then I'd be content, too! :-D *sweet*
  4. That are great ideas, brickchic! *y* Like Stealth Hunter I can't remember having read the ideas of a hairdresser and a clothing boutique here. ;-) With the hairdresser I think it'll be a bit difficult because you would need a lot of new molds for a pair of scissors, a drier hood, etc. so it would get very expensive. Consequently I see the chances for a set like this regrettably very low :-( . I'd like very much a clothing bouthique - that'll be *wub* - and by the way not very difficult to do for TLG since they can use the coats from the SW and Castle sets and the regular caps, hats, etc. I could well imagine that TLG one day would release a set like this in an exclusive S@H set :-) like the excellent 10188 Town Plan ( *wub* ).

  6. iHere are my wishes for 2009 with a - more or less - realistic succession, - more or less - realistic contents and minifig constellations and - more or less - realistic prices: ;-) (Since I am only interested in OT sets do not wonder that I don't write down sets from other episodes, series and video games.) January: Hoth Rebel BP - 13,99 € including a laser cannon minifigs: three Hoth Rebel Troopers and one Hoth Rebel Captain Hoth Imperial BP - 13,99 € including a white speeder bike minifigs: three Snow Troopers and one Snow Trooper Captain Wampa's Cave - 35,99 € including Wampa's cave (built bigger but similar to Yoda's hut), an animal skeleton, a little tent, an emergency arming, Wampa and one Tauntaun minifigs: Luke Skywalker in Hoth outfit and Han Solo in Hoth outfit
  7. Thank you very much for that news, Stealth Hunter and The Cobra! It's clear that 4210 CG Platform regrettablyis a Promo set because Kiddiwinsk writes "(PROMO) (September 2008). I doubt if the Street Sweeper is a "normal" set since we will already get an Impulse set named like that in June. So I think it will be a Promo, too, or perhaps a Brickmaster set. The Police Swamp Boat may be "normal" set but it could be a Promo or a Brickmaster set, too, since I doubt if TLG releases more City sets as "normal" sets since there are already - escpecially of the little sets like Impulse sets - a huge range of them this year.
  8. Hello everybody! Another great contest after the Impulse sets contest some weeks ago. *y* So here is my MOC for the category Impulse sets: "Pirate" (Very fancs name :-D !) This set contains 22 pieces and one minifig: A senior pirate (which you can see at the brown shoulder patterns), a parrot, a little table with a stolen treasure, a barrel, a treasure box with gold, a shovel, a pick-axe, a sword, a knife and a tumbler. (I counted the treasure box as two pieces and the 8 gold pieces as 2 pieces because they are built of two molds.) Thanks! *sweet* Klaus-Dieter
  9. That are really some great ideas, Stealth Hunter! *y* I indeed daon't think that we'll get so many sets seperate to buy in 2009 but perhaps - and hopefully, too - there will be a nice cargo train which will include an engine, a freight waggon, a flatbed waggon and a tank car and a passenger train with two nice passenger waggons, too. But perhaps there will be some S@H Exclusive train sets, too (like e. g. the Santa Fe serial some years ago). I would so much like to see a post waggon, a sleeping car and a dining car :'-) - that would be *wub* ! Your idea of a train gas station is a brilliant idea which hasn't been posted here until now ;-) . It would be a perfect addition to a new cargo loading station.
  10. Thank you very much for your nice comments! *sweet* It's very nice to read that you like the interior, too, because I worked on it for a long time - sets or MOCs without (nice) interior are that is to say not very successful sets/MOCs for me. Do you have an advise how for better design or do you think it's all OK? (I actually wanted to have the big window with little glas stones like in the official sets of e. g. the sheriff's office, but I don't have transparent labels. So I decided to paste the two crossed swords on the window. :-/ )
  11. The curious thing is that I put the bricks into a pillow case before washing them in the washing machine, too. But either the bricks were twisted already before (may be since I got them as a present; but nevertheless I don't think that they were twisted before) or I put too many bricks into the washing machine or ... I don't know - but it's fact that they came out twisted :-( . ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have a great demand to you: If you've got time please answer my two following questions: -What do you like/hate the most in my City? -What do you think should be made better/designed in an other way? Thanks! *sweet* Klaus-Dieter
  12. Thank you very much for this information, Bonaparte! I didn't know that when you upload pics from Brickshelf they may nevertheless be too big. So excuse me - and in the future I will excert myself of uploading smaller pics to EB. *sweet*
  13. So the most of you realised that it was an April Fool! *y* But that was my aim, too, because I didn't want to tease someone very badly. So I choosed to only make a topic for fun. Did you like it, were you disappointed or did you think that this April Fool is totally useless and idiotic? By the way: Did you detect the two allusions to official Lego sets? -The Anakin Skywalker statue with "all his wounds and his broken hand" should be an allusion to the Darth Vader minifig in the new Rogue Shadow set which is - in my oppinion - not really nice to look at. -The two sets with the curious minifig constellation should be an allusion to the Imperial Dropship where TLG threw together two totally different characters who do never fit and which made me really >:-( because it would have been a so great set if only a TIE Pilot would have been included instead of a Shadow Trooper.
  14. I totally agree with you, Asuka! It wasn't a very good idea to place that minifig in that function on that place. But after I built up my Lego City I realised that one minifig is missing: It was that minifig. But I don't want to exclude it from my city. So I decided to place it on the roof of the town hall because it was the best place of all bad places I could imagine. And since I put it there I had to invent a history for that bad guy with his gun - and so I invented the history I presented to you. But of course you are right - it really isn't a very good history :-/ . Thank you very much for all your nice comments! *sweet* I will reassess your advise of putting a green baseplate under the fountain - it surely is a good idea! :-)
  15. There is only one magic word to keep the sets so shiny: It's pure magic! No, of course it isn't! :-D Many of the sets look on the pics cleaner than they are in reality. Like I mentioned already in a reply before I built up my town only very seldom. When I then remove it I "clean" the sets with a little paint-brush of the dust. All the other time (when it is not built up) I store the sets in cartons so that they don't get so dusty. If you've got some very dusty sets you perhaps may already know the trick: Cleaning them with warm water and - if necessary - with some "non-agressive" (don't know the real name) soap. But do not wash them in the dishwasher. One very well meant advise: I washed many bricks some in the washing machine years ago - after that they were totally twisted so I can only use them very badly :-( . I hope I could help you. *sweet*
  16. Last Sunday I visited an old friend. His uncle works as an Lego set designer mainly for Star Wars sets. I had the great chance to get a short interview. I can of course not publish his name because otherwise he’ll surely get a lot of trouble. Since we spoke German I’ll try to translate the interview in (more or less good) English. Since I didn’t want to start firstly and directly with the question which is the most important for all of us SW fans I began with: After that there was not following something of importance. I can’t tell you how disappointed I was and yet now are! :'-( Ending Star Wars – a so great licensed theme with lots of brilliant sets and possibilities – and beginning to release Pippi Langstocking sets, a theme based on a children’s book character?! What’s that?!?!?!?!?! >:-) >:-) And ending this amazing theme with these three bad exclusive sets, that’s really *n* ! What are your feelings about it? Do you agree with me or do you like to see TLG ending the brilliant SW theme?!
  17. There are a lot of things to discover in my Lego City – do only look about: There is a very nice rich villa in the housing area, … … it’s Christmas (no, it isn’t – but nevertheless) and a movie is done with Santa Claus who gets visit of an Ice Planet guy, … … two explorers are watching and filming a monkey, … … two airport police officers arrest a fled criminal, … … a citizen refuels his car at the ancient petrol station … … and some citizens are waiting for the Metroliner at the train station. Facts about my Lego City from the registration office: -a precise number of about hundred until two hundred inhabitants -a precise number of about ten fire fighters -a precise number of about twenty “normal” police officers -a precise number of about twenty federal police officers -eight special police unity officers plus their boss -a precise number of about ten doctors and nurses … INTERESTED?! - THEN COME VISITNG US! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I didn’t include the few maritime sets because they had no place. I’ll show them to you in the middle or end of October after I will have bought and built up the new 7739 Coast Guard Harbor. If you’re interested please visit my Brickshelf Gallery with my MyLegoCity2008, too. I hope you liked my “guiding tour” and I would like to read more great comments. Klaus-Dieter
  18. Fortunately there are nice happenings, too: Some kids are peacefully playing soccer, ... ... a couple is marrying in the town hall, ... ... some teenagers are skateboarding, ... ... and a kid is playing with its remote-controlled car.
  19. But there are luckily a lot of people who went for fighting against accidents and crime: The police is constantly en route – 24 hours , 7 days a week, 365 days a year, … … the federal police makes tempo limit controls … … and accomplishes a razzia at the adventure camp where some drug dealers decided to move, … there are a lot of doctors and nurses who help the casualties, … … the fire fighters exercising constantly the deletion of fires and the rescue of injured people … … and there is a special police unity who fights against and arrests dangerous criminals.
  20. Of course my Lego City is a “real” City – so there regrettably are accidents and crime, too: A car with a boat tag collided with another car, … … a jealous stalker wants to shoot down the bridal couple … … and two criminals from the Mafia attack a shop owner who didn’t buy the protection money.
  21. During or after work there are some possibilities to get your food: You can eat a pizza or let the pizza carrier deliver one to your home, … … buy some popcorn or a little snack at the popcorn snack … … or go to the excellent Italian restaurant.
  22. Guiding Tour Through My Lego City Welcome to my Lego City. Here you have got a quick overview over my City. My City contains a big police department, a fire station, a hospital, a train station, a park & service tower, two additional petrol stations, a pizzeria, a restaurant, a cycle shop, a garage, a cinema, an oldtimer meeting place, a little apartment house, a villa, an airport, a town hall, an adventure camp and a little park with a fountain. There is a lot of work to do in the City: The dustbins have to be depleted, … ... the cargo has to be discharged of the freight helicopter, ... … the garbage has to be collected, … … the rails have to be exchanged, … … the letters have to be carried out, … … the streets have to be cleaned, … … new plants have to be implant, … ... a hotel has to be built, ... ... the streets have to be repaired, ... … a street light has to be repaired and … … a container has to be lifted with a crane. But after work there is a huge range of possibilities you can do: You can meet your friends in the oldtimer club, … … you can go to the cinema, … … listen to the street musicians, … … play soccer with your kids … … or only relax in the park.
  23. Thank you very much for your nice feedbacks! That's the problem at my home, too: At my student digs I have really not enough place to build it up. And at home my parents' living room isn't small - but when I built up all my City sets nobody can go in and out without destroying something :-D . That's the reason why I built up my Lego City the last time in the last summer :'-) . But this Saturday my parents and my brother made an excursion so I had the possibility to built my Lego City up very quickly, make some photos and then slowly take it down. That's how it is - but perhaps later I'll have more room to built it up for a longer time. ;-)
  24. That's a great town, SpartanML! *y* I mainly like the brilliant fire station MOC. *wub*
  25. Oh, excuse me! I didn't realise that. But nevertheless I didn't/don't like this minifig very much because it has got this police emblem on its jacket - and the truck includes this police emblem, too. And in my opinion the police emblem doesn't be in line with the security transport car (driver) because security has nothing to do with police. I myself would like to see a security transport car (driver) which/who has nothing in common with a police car/officer.
