  1. Hello everybody! Here is my second poll on EB (my first poll is here): Since it's now the second year that TLG releases Star Wars BPs - and I think and hope that TLG will go on with that - I thought it would be interesting to know which kinds of BPs we SW fans on EB prefer. Thank you for your votes and I'm very interested in which you'll vote for! Comments and feedbacks according to how useful you think this poll is and how you like(d) it are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  2. You know surely are disappointed, Scyzoryk, but I personally hate this new theme since it only consists of action elements but otherwise nothing! The only nice thing is that we'll be able to get some laptops and pistols - but otherwise .
  3. Hello everybody! I'm very, very happy that I now received the rank of an EB "knight" - so I'm aible to do polls ! Thank you very, very much to the one who gave me that rank! Consequently I didn't hesitate and here is my first poll: If there is a comeback of the great Wild West theme there will be some soldiers very sure, too. But the question now is: Would you prefer to get more US soldiers or would you more be interested in some CS soldiers? Thank you for your votes and I'm very interested in which you'll vote for! Comments and feedbacks according to how useful you think this poll is and how you like(d) it are welcome! Klaus-Dieter (I'll vote firstly after some votes of you in order to do not manipulate you unknowingly since this should be an objective poll.) EDIT: To prevent misunderstandings: The US soldiers are the soldiers with the blue uniforms which were included in the Wild West theme of the years 1996-1997. The CS soldiers would be soldiers in the same uniforms like the US soldiers but with the signature "CS" instead "US" on the belt-buckle and with grey uniforms instead of blue ones.
  4. I didn't see that this was posted here before - but if please excuse me: The instructions for the new little City vehicles: Police 4x4 Dozer That are little but great sets in the more classic style!
  5. Hello everybody! I thought it would be a nice idea to know all Wild West fans here on EB. I decided to open a topic where you can write down your EB name in order to identify yourself as an WW fan. It makes no difference whether you are only WW MOCer or whether you are only WW sets collector or whether you are ... You can write down a short description of what you do in the WW theme or whether you would like to have a comeback of WW or ..., too. So: When you are interested in Lego WW please sign here! My name is Klaus-Dieter. I am a real Wild West fan. Apart from collecting (and sometimes playing with, too) the amazing WW sets from 1996-97 I seldom do some WW MOCs, too, since I am EB member. I would be very, very happy if we WW fans get some new nice WW sets (especially a train with station, a saloon and a post office with stage coach)! EDIT: I edited this great graphic which was designed by TheBrickster. Thank you very much, TheBrickster!
  6. That's an amazing WW MOC, rupi! I really it because it's very well and precisely designed - with the nice platform, the great station itself, the neat telegraphe pole and the successful minifig constellation. The most I like the morse key in the station, the nice windows and the clock outstairs - that are very nice and curious things! Very well done - if only TLG would release something like that!
  7. That's a great MOC, The Penguin!
  8. Yes, of course. But some of the ideas could be realistic nevertheless. So we'll see a picture of the 10188 DS and the summer S@H Exclusive after the catalog will be released, won't we? (I luckily ordered this nice catalog from my local bookseller about a month ago.)
  9. The most important wish I have concerning Lego buildings is that there should be of course further more buildings in the more modern style like the last hospital or the police station - but there should be some buildings in the older style (like e. g. the town hall in the amazing Town Plan). The older styled buildings would be very important mainly for a hopefully bigger train station or an old styled post office.
  10. That's a great MOC, Grimer!
  11. That's a great and very interesting poll, TheBrickster! I voted for: Do you want Lego to design a new Wild West theme? => Yes, definately! The WW theme was a so  theme that it would be a shame if TLG doesn't let it come back! If Lego were to offer a new WW theme, what would you like to see? =>Traditional WW (expand the theme from the 90s) The WW theme of the years 1996/97 was one of the best of all themes Lego ever released! I would be very, very happy if TLG would release more WW sets which could go with all the buildings, minifigs, the size, the vehicles etc. of that theme. For me a train with a train station and a water tower and some Ghost Town sets, too, are things that surely will and have to be released if TLG brings back the WW theme - but why shouldn't they be in the same style as the "old" WW theme ?! What did Lego most fail to offer in their WW theme from the 90s? => Windmills, Water Towers, and Other WW Train Structures Of course it would be very neat to see some more buildings - a saloon and a post office with a stage coach would be absolutely necessary - but the most fail TLG did in the "old" WW theme was that they did not include a train with a train station and a water tower. Besides I think that this was one of the reasons why the "old" WW theme ostensibly wasn't that success. I mean: A WW theme without a steam train and a adapted train station is like a vegetable shop without vegetables ! Why do you like the WW Theme? => Playability The playability is the most important reason why I really like the WW theme - the "old" WW theme offered so much playability. But secondly the buildings themselves, the vehicles and the minifigs were very, very well desgined, too ! What piece(s) do you most value from the WW theme? => Green doors and windows I really those nice windows - they made the buildings very realistic! Hopefully this poll will help tp convince TLG of bringing back the WW theme! Klaus-Dieter
  12. Since TLG is on a more classic way - regarding mainly the City theme - and did release themes like Aquaraiders and Mars Mission which haven't been there for some years, I think a new WW theme doesn't lie to far away - even therefore because the WW theme would contain a lot of fantasy and action elements. And these elements seem to be the most important aspects for kids and the decision of TLG releasing a set. But first of all there surely will be a comeback of pirates because it seems as if the community of pirates fans is bigger than the one of WW fans. I think that a big and popular WW movie would surely rise the possibilities for a new WW theme. But I personally wouldn't be very content with it because I think that TLG would then release WW sets based on a license on that movie - and that would be  because I really would like to see some new WW sets - but not some based on licenses. To conclude: I think - and I do really hope, too - that there will be a comeback of the WW theme - but I don't think that that will take place in the nearest future. If you want to you can read my statement how TLG could - in my opinion successfully - let the WW theme come back here. Klaus-Dieter What?! I didn't know that it is possible to send letters with your MOCs to Lego. How does that function (in Germany)?
  13. The trash compactor with Luke and Han as Stormtroopers and a room with Vader, Obi-Wan and two Stormies makes sense. But I think that the other information isn't very realistic: Do only think about how many minifigs TLG will include in a set like 10188 DS?! Surely not more than 11 even if it is 200 Euros. And there are many characters which are much more important in the DS scenes from episode 4 than R2 and C-3PO. Do only think about Princess Leia, Tarkin, DS Troopers and hopefully new officers, two. And a TIE Fighter in the set is in my opinion totally unrealisitc and idiotic, too, since it would only make the set costlier - but for no sense. I bet that there surely will be no fighter included in the set. By the way: A black C-3PO and that black little "torture droid" would be very nice minifigs, too.
  14. On the one hand I must disagree: I really doubt that TLG will include R2-D2 and C-3PO in the DS because they don't play that big role in this scene. On the other hand I agree with you: We surely will get Leia, Han and Luke (hopefully both in Stormtrooper outfits because that would make more sence than in there "normal" outfits). With Vader I'm not sure - but maybe. Some time ago there was this minifig constellation on wookiepedia but it disappeared. Somebody there wrote that the 10188 DS will include Leia, Han, Luke, Vader, Obi-Wan, two Stormtroopers and two Imperial Officers. If you ask me there surely will be included Leia, Han, Luke, Grand Moff Tarkin and two Stormies. With the other minifigs I'm not sure but I hope that TLG will show the same engagement with including many new minifig characters in the DS like they included in the CW sets ! Klaus-Dieter
  15. Hello everybody! See what I found on Brickshelf: A Death Star Gunner Station MOC Death Star Gunner Station Isn't it really  ?! I wish TLG would release something similar to that, too, because a gunner station and an Imperial Gunner minifig are things which are really great! Only think of the possibility to release a set with an X-Wing, a DS Gunner Station, the Red Leader, two Imperial Gunners and a Stormtrooper. Wouldn't that be amazing?!
  16. Thank you very much for your detailed comments, xwingyoda! 160-200 Euros ?! That would be very much money ! I hope that the DS will be something similar to that but of course with an "outside" to open and close. Hoperfully it then would be a really good designed set with nice details and with one or two DS Trooper(s) and a new Imperial Lieutnant/Commander/...! And hopefully TLG will include something like the conference room of Grand Moff Tarkin, too!
  17. That's absolutely amazing, RebelRock! I really it - in that old classic design and with all these nice details and the nice vegetation. Very, very well done!
  18. That's a very nice post station, zeki! I really like the colours and the design since it isn't that always used combination of white and red or white and black. I agree with Asuka - some vegetation would boost the quality of your MOc very much. By the way: Does the post office have an interior, too? Very well done!
  19. Amen! If TLG would include some fantasy in some of the WW sets - e. g. creating a Ghost Town - I'm sure kids would like it, too! And the very young kids play with which they get - City, Castle, ... or even Western - they haven't very special interests in the age when not being aible to read books. (That might perhaps sound very unfriendly but it isn't meant unfriendly.) I remember that I played very early with City based sets - or what remained of them since I always destroyed them and throw the instructions away one day after having bought them - and later I played with Castle - and when the WW theme came out I played with Western - consequently I'd say kids play with which is be for sale! TLG should only try it - perhaps with one or two S@H Exclusives - if it works and if it doesn't work it's not that big problem because they wouldn't have released a whole new line. But I'm sure it would work because when TLG would release a WW train with a train station the WW theme would be token everybody to one's heart - AFOLs as well as JFOLs - because a train is something which is liked by really everybody. And if people would buy the WW train - and see in the catalogue that there is a adequate saloon and a post office with a stage coach and ... surely a lot of them won't hesitate and buy these sets. When TLG doesn't try they'll never know if new WW sets would be bought - and despite from that - No risc, no fun! Oh well - I meant: No risc, no profit! Klaus-Dieter
  20. Thank you for the summary of all the OT re-desgins, ! After having thought about it for another time I came to following result: -I think that this re-designed set will be not cheaper than 60 € and not costlier than 105 € - the prices of last year's Hoth Base and RC. -A Millenium Falcon is very unlikely since there was the UCS version last year and a possible re-release of a minifig-scaled MF would be 150 € - and I don't think that TLG will release a set with this price since we'll already get the 10188 DS which surely will cost 150 € (and hopefully not more - but might be possible, too!). -I think it'll be some sort of ground base with a vehicle. I can't prove it - but I feel as if the "classic" vehicles such as Imperial Shuttle, X-Wing, ... will be re-released in the next years - but not yet this year. -like I think that there will be some or at least one Endor set(s) in 2009 - but I don't think earlier. -BPs or little sets like the Droid Escape are too unspectacular and not expensive enough to be a S@H Exclusive. => Result: As many of you already said a Jabba's Palace (about 100 €) or a Mos Eisley Cantina (about 60 € or 100 € - it' would depend on which would be included) are the most likely re-desgins - perhaps Jabba's Palace is more likely. By the way: 1. Perhaps Steff can tell us what it is in order that we won't have to specualte until summer ? 2. Does anybody know/Can anybody imagine how much the 10188 DS will cost? Do you think it'll be more than 150 € (the regular price for the last years' Exclusives like the AT-ST and the Imperial SD)?
  21. Before I saw the pic of 4210 I couldn't imagine what a "CG Platform" shall be. But after I saw the pic I did not yet know what that shall be in reality. Is it something like that? So TLG won't change it into an oil rig, am I right? Consequently I supposably won't regretabbly (be able to) buy it because I already want to buy the 7739 CG HQ and I haven't got enough money to buy both - apart from that 4210 is very similar to 4210. But it nevertheless will be of course a great set ! If TLG releases a set like this which includes elements of an oil rig I hope that we'll get a real oil rig soon (as S@H Exclusive), too - that would be absolutely  !
  22. I don't want to be unfriendy - and hope that I'm not unfriendly, too - but Steff wrote following thing two pages ago: Consequently it'll be an OT set and it makes no sense to speculate about a CW, FU, EU, PT or whatever else set.
  23. A counterquestion: Were there any Western movies in the years of 1996-1997? And I don't think that TLG only decides to place a new theme if there is a movie. Do only think about "Pirates of the Caribbean". Weren't there 3 movies until now? - And TLG nevertheless did not release one single Pirate set! Since Lego seems to go more classic now especially in the City theme - what is very, very nice - I wouldn't say that a release of a new WW theme is unrealistic (do only think about the possibilities of fan-designed sets (like 10192 and 10191) - and in the Green Grocer set you can see some Indian feather like in the last WW theme ) - but I, too, fear that you are right, MoonCheese. But not bringing back the WW theme would be a big mistake! But back to topic: Are these hats the brick-built minifigs wear already the hats of the 1980-1990 City sets?
  24. So the WW sets from 1996-1997 might provide some inspiration to the WW sets of the 2010ths or 2020s? (Don't take that seriously - I of course understood what you meant and you're of course right.)
  25. Thank you very, very much for that information, Steff! I'm very happy that you did not mean the new 10188 DS and that there will be no TIE Fighter and no X-Wing. So thinking about which other things there might be: -I do not think that it'll be a re-release of the Hoth Base because TLG would surely not make a surprise out of it if they release again some more of the last year's Hoth Rebel Base. -I'm sure that it'll be no new Hoth Base and no new Y-Wing Fighter since we got them already last year. So what is left? -Imperial Shuttle? - do not think so -A-Wing or B-Wing????? - B-Wing was released in 2006 and A-Wing is not that popular and big enough for an Exclusive ... By the way: Commandosevy, I think that a Tatooine set with a bantha and some tusken raiders is not too far away. Only think about if TLG includes a Landspeeder in this set they could name it "Landspeeder" - OK, that's not really convincing - but if they include the Mos Eisley Cantina in this set they could name it "Mos Eisley Cantina" - and consequently it would be a re-release . No, I'm not joking - the more I think about it the more supposable it seems to become. And since someone wrote last year here on EB that he reminds of his friend told him that ther'll be a set with a bantha and some tusken raiders in summer 2008 - and I think that re-releases of OT vehicles will surely come next year (10 years SW Lego!!!) and the years after that (since we do not know if Lego SW continues after 2011).
