  1. Who knows - perhaps it'll only be 100 Euros like 10193 Medieval Market Village - and that's imo really a fair price. Klaus-Dieter
  2. That's again an absolutely amazing MOC, DNL! I really it! With it's absolutely realistic architecture, the lovely landscape, the minifigs, animals and additional accessory it is a real masterwork! The most I like the building ground with the crane you added to this your MOC since this is something very exceptionnel that I can't remember having seen anywhere before. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  3. Thanks, Richie! Thanks, prateek! Yes, I know, the most of them are really too big. But since this should be a blacksmith shop I wanted to have some tools, too. Klaus-Dieter
  4. Thank you very much for these pics, Kanal-K1! This set is simply  - next to 10184 Town Plan the best Town/City set ever! :oh: There are only three things to criticise: the (very supposable) missing of a cashpoint in the bycicle/skateboard shop, the missing of a door in the bycicle/skateboard shop and the missing interior of the attic of the pizzeria. Otherwise it's simply perfect and contains everything a City fan can think of: excellent architecture, a great building which is bigger than one floor, much accsessory, nice interior, street lamps, an awesome designed bus (not too big and not too little) and a great minifig constellation with not only men but even a woman and a child! Excellent work, TLG! Go on with more sets like this one! Klaus-Dieter
  5. That's an absolutely amazing MOC, Hinckley! I really it! With it's totally realistic and exactely copied architecture from the real existing building this your MOC is really a masterwork of art! The already mentioned ideas of adding some interior to it and perhaps a mini-model of it inside would be a perfect idea! Some ideas for the interior: -indoor swimming pool in the seperate, one floor big building -a mini-model in the entrance -piano bar, kitchen and living room downstairs -bedroom, bathroom, children's room and office upstairs -in the room on the top: hobby room with some mini Lego models Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  6. Thank you very much for this infomation, Skipper 24! That sounds very promising! It seems as if TLG detected that not only the SW theme hides a lot of AFOLs which would like to get some exclusive, big and outstanding sets! I really would like to see another big Town Exclusive since 10184 Town Plan was and still is simply  ! The point about which I'm really puzzled is why there shall be only a very limited groop of people be allowed to vote. Will this then really be meaningful for the whole AFOL community?! Apart from that it makes me angry that the most of us (me included) seem not to be aible to then vote - that's . Imo an online poll (similar to last year's poll for an exclusive Star Wars set (which Calamari Star Cruiser won) on the TRUs website or a poll in every Lego forum would be much better since the results would be much more significant and it would be much more fair! I could well imagine this set being around the same price class like 10184 - meaning about 150 Euros. And I could well imagine that one of the choices you could vote for will be (a set which includes) a hotel (which I really would like to get). The release date surely will be in January since 10184 came out in January, too (and apart from that the conceptional designs for the different choices are surely already finished). So let's be surprised. Klaus-Dieter
  7. Thanks, I Scream Clone! The atrium is the second one of the two reasons why I really Roman villas - and it's even one of the two typical tokes a Roman villa owns. Thanks, Guss! Nice to here that you like the "mini interior"! I really like interior. For me an official Lego set which contains a building in which there is no or only very few interior is for me a not felicitous building and therefore even a bad set. Because of this I tried to "commute" the regular minifig-scaled interior into a "mini interior". I think Rome would be a bit too big for me! I firstly thought whether I should try to build a Roman thermae. But at the moment (not this evening - but the most of the other time) I'm very busy. Thanks, Asuka! Thanks, Whitefang! In contrary to my minifig-scaled version some years ago I tried to use the colors right. Thanks, medieval_total_lego! Since your signature says that you're from Italy you surely know whether it is historically accurate or not - thanks. Thanks, Holodoc! The reason why I built this MOC was indeed for use in school. With the pics I took of it (and which you see here and can find in my BS gallery) I created a Powerpoint presentation. Originally I wanted to show it to the pupils during my teaching practice - but unluckily the time didn't suffice. But there surely will be enough time later when I (hopefully) will be teacher. Thanks, TheBrickster! You're absolutely right: A historically nearly correct model in minifig-scale would be much too expensive. But - like already told to Tacitus - I built a minifig-scaled Roman villa some years ago which wasn't that historically correct - e. g. the roof on the peristyle was missing. You can find it here. Klaus-Dieter
  8. That's again an absolutely amazing MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! The architecture looks (not only after having seen the pics of the real clock tower) very realistic! Nice to see that you added a "not spooking" minifig to this your MOC which is affrighted by the ghost of the clock tower. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  9. Thank you all very much for your many and nice comments! Thanks, soc399! Thanks, Zorro! It should be as much realistic as possible. So I think I did the best of which my "building talent" and my financial situation allows. Thanks, Tacitus! I already designed a minifig-scaled version of a Roman villa some years ago and already posted it here on EB. You can find it here. But it isn't designed that realistic than this new mini version. Thanks, BlueBard! Peristyles were always one of my favourite aspects because of which I really Roman villas and villas from South Europe in general. Klaus-Dieter
  10. Hello everybody! For a term paper in didactics of history I designed the following Roman villa: Mini Roman Villa A short overview: Ground floor: Upper floor: Soome details: The atrium: The shops: More details and additional overviews can be found in this folder of my BS gallery (when public). Comments are welcome! Klaus-Dieter
  11. I already posted following idea in the embassy subforum. But since this is a special idea for a Classic Castle set I thought it would make sense to post it here, too, in order to discuss about it. After having seen the 10195 Republic Dropship and AT-OT I thought: Why do we Classic Castle fans don't get a giant castle set with a giant castle and a lot of minifigs for about 200-300 Euro, too?! So here is a new idea for a set I really, really would like to see in the Castle theme: King's Giant Castle  consists of several parts and a huge amount of minifigs and horses: Part 1: King's Tournament -a big tribune with two seats (for the king and the queen) -a round tournament tent -a "barrier" -a lot of tournament weappons, two horses with big printed covers, a bear barrel, some tumblers -queen, king's knight on horseback, king's knight, dragon knight on horseback, dragon knight Part 2: Castle Entry -big tower with drawbridge, portcullis and armory -smugglers' carriage (for carrying vegetables on it and a secret box inside for smuggling weappons) with horse -little field with plants on it and a scarecrow -a lot of weappons, some vegetables -smuggler, little prince, little princess, two guards Part 3: Castle Keep -castle keep with three floors (first floor: stables and kitchen, second floor: throne room and dining room, third floor: attic with library and wizzard's laboratory) -two horses, some weappons, a pan, a pot, some tumblers, a dish, some books, laboratory accessory, two bats -wizzard, two knights on horseback, female cook Part 4: Donjon -donjon with three floors (first floor: secret passage and repository, second floor: entrance and treasure room, third floor: king's sleeping room with big bed and writing table) -a fountain, the king's horse with big printed cover, market stand (for selling vegetables), vegetables, chicken legs -king, jester, archer, market woman Part 5: Castle Walls And Towers -three little castle walls (one with battlement and the two others with regular pinnacles) -a little tower with a catapult on it -a bigger tower with treasure chamber downstairs and a spooky room upstairs -two treasure boxes, eight gold pieces, some jewels, some stones -castle ghost (with white hands and "glow in the dark" function), three archers, one guard, a prisoner The different parts are modular which in this context doesn't mean that they have backwalls but which does mean that you can put them together like you want that you can create your "own" castle (= the are different possibilities how to combine the different parts of the castle). The castle, the minifigs which belong to it and the accessory should be in classic style - meaning that new molds and new torso designs can be used - but no fantasy creatures, fantasy elements and senseless action elements. Thanks for reading! What are your ideas? Would you like something similar to that? Do you think that TLG will release an exclusive and that huge Castle set similar to my idea in the near future? Klaus-Dieter

  13. That's again an absolutely amazing MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! Its architecture is brilliant and looks very realistic! The most I like the big gate with the roof pieces on it, the Harry Potter windows on the second floor and the little tower with the lovely ghost in it! Only one suggestion I'd made (which already was mentioned before): I'd add some few grey bricks in order to that the manor looks a bit "run-down" since how you created it now it looks like there are living a lot of people which "treat" their house very well (sorry for the bad expression but I don't know the right words ) - and that does imo not look that gloomy. And I'd add some more minifigs to it - e. g. some cowboys which are passing by the manor and which get very frightened. Otherwise it's perfect! Very, very well done! I totoally agree with you, Batbrick! I really like that classic ghost, too, since it does look that . So I, too, am hoping that TLG will re-release this minifigure soon - but then not please with yellow hands (like in the "Classic" Caslte ) but with its nice original white hands! Some sets where this ghost would fit perfectly would be a big caslte in classic design and classic style and all species of ghost town sets! Klaus-Dieter
  14. Thank you very much for this pic and the link to this awesome MOC, Captain Zuloo! You can believe it or not: When I was in summer holidays last year in the area around Hamburg I visited the International Maritime Museum of Hamburg and I saw this amazing MOC there with my own eyes. It is really impressive with all its details and all the accessory like trucks and minifigures added to it! Regrettably it wasn't allowed to take pics (in the whole museum). But for everybody who is interested in ships and maritime stuff I can really approve this museum: It's awesome and there are thousand of ship modells to see (regrettably not made out of Lego - but nevertheless very impressive) from the first and fishing boats up to the latest cargo, passenger and military ships. But you should take the time of minimum one day - and even then you can't see everything. Klaus-Dieter
  15. That's again a totally awesome MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! To the water tower: It looks great. The only thing I don't like that much (I think I already mentioned that last year when you showed it here on EB) is the roof on it. I now know that the roof is absolutely correct and realistic. Nevertheless I'd prefer the water tower without roof - but I can't tell you why (since I don't know for myself, too). Otherwise it's perfect! To the station: It's designed absolutely perfect and very realistic! The details I like the most are the railings and the big clock. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  16. Thank you very much for that information, paksu! I personally don't see a big use for these new tracks since the curved tracks were imo ok. And in curves you anyway need enough place between two track circles - so for what do you then need them?! - But ok. Klaus-Dieter
  17. Thank you very much for that information, paksu! On the one hand this is good news since - to judge from the description - it will be a fire station in old style. On the other hand this is bad news since it'll be no regular set but a modular building. And I don't want modular houses in my lovely Lego City. Klaus-Dieter
  18. That's a totally awesome MOC, rupi! I really it! With its many details and the opening doors it looks absolutely realistic! Two suggestions I'd make: You could add some doors to the driver's cab and some seats to the passengers' cab. Otherwise it's perfect! If only TLG releases such a nice limousine! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter
  19. Thank you very much for the kind words, Skipper 24! But I don't own some bricks for SW vehicles (and I don't want to destroy my sets). Apart from that I'm at the moment very busy anyway. But - like already mentioned - perhaps the next time. Klaus-Dieter
  20. Thank you very much for that information, David Thomsen and DarthSion! The book about the celebration of 30 years of the minifig and the SW book would be surely interesting. But it regrettably seems as if these book won't be available for Germany and only in English language (I'm not that good in English ). Klaus-Dieter
  21. Thank you very much, Colonel! It's not that I'm that keen on religious staff - but I think in order to have a complete medieval village you should have characters like a hangman, a mayor, a tax collector, ... and even a medieval bishop who is escorted by some guards. It's not that I must have a new part of a headgear for a medieval bishop - if TLG rereleases the mold for the old headgear of the damsel of the castle this would be fine for me since you could then use this part as a headgear for a medieval bishop, too. Here some more ideas: For a Roman theme: -lion -leopard -gladiator's helmet -gladiator's buckler -trident (for gladiator) -little web (for gladiator) -Roman soldier's buckler -Roman soldier's rucksack with holder for pan, shovel, pickaxe and lances -Roman soldier's helmet -feather combination for the Roman soldiers' helmets (different types for legionnaire, centurion, ...) -laurel wreath for Caesar -Gallican soldier's helmet Thanks for reading! Klaus-Dieter
  22. That's a great idea for a new topic, M'Kyuun! I'd like to see as new elements: For a new Western theme: -cactus -buffalo -medicin man's headgear -headgear for feamle Western citizen or female settler -swinging door (for a saloon) -grizzly For the Castle theme: -new headgear for the damsel of the castle (no crown!) -headgear for medieval bishop For the City theme: -new hayfork (does not necessarily have to be brown like the original - can be grey, too) -mobile phone -little laptop -set of instruments (for an operating room in a new hospital) -city scooter -(school) rucksack -large cornet of cardboard filled with sweets and little presents given to children in Germany on their first day at school -pretzel (for a bakery) For the Star Wars theme: -Wampa -Bantha -tusken raider head (not only a printed minifg head!) Surely I'll get some other ideas soon, too, and then I'll post them. For now that's all I can think of. Thanks for reading! Klaus-Dieter
  23. Thank you very much for the link, thire5 and the pic, Holodoc! The flexible tracks look very interesting. I totally agree with you, metalandi! Please excuse me but whereas the exterior of the whole train is very well designed the interior of the locomotive is a shame ! The furnace really looks like a chimney in a living room, its opening is designed amateurish - but I mainly can't forgive TLG the lack of controls. They could minimum have printed a sticker to add to the inside that it looks like if there were controls (like in the Classic Train). What does a highly precised and awesome exterior need when the interior is absolutely disappointing?! With this TLG missed its chance to offer a brilliant train set. Now it's a very nice set - but really not perfect! (In contrast: 10184 and 10193 are perfect! ) After having seen that bad interior of the locomotive and that the prices of all the additional stuff to make the train driving - not to speak about additional sets like waggons etc. - will be that tall I will very supposably not buy all this classic AFOL train stuff coming out this year. On the one hand it's a pity since I really would like to own a really functioning steam engine with all those great waggons it tugs. On the other hand I must say that the interior of those locomotives and waggons is for me as much important as the exterior. And so I don't feel up to pay a fortune for things which I don't like completely. Hopefully 2010 will offer us some affordable trains which then will contain a lot of interior! Klaus-Dieter
  24. That's again an great MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! This waggon looks very well designed and it's interior looks very nice, too! The only suggestion I'd made is to either deisgn the waggon not that tall or to have two horses in front of it. Otherwise this is a great MOC and the idea of connecting the ghost town with the real world is an awesome idea which you did realise with this your MOC very well! Of course I enjoyed Return to Gravestone! It's a pity that you don't show again your ghost train MOCs since there are surely some new members which would really much like to see them (and I know that it's nearly impossible to find older topics when you search for them). So perhaps some links to the topics which contain your brilliant MOCs would be helpful. A very, very well done MOC series you created there for a ghost town! I woke up last night since there was some noice in my room. I watched carefully and then noticed that it came from outside. I looked through the window and saw prospector Tex Grimwell downstairs on the meadow in front of the house. He was searching for gold. It seemed as if he already had searched for gold the whole night - but didn't find something. So he was that angry that he called for the skelettons which shortly after that "visited" me with their nightmare stagecoach. You can't imagine how horrible that was - they were driving through the apartment the whole rest of the night and did firstly disappear when the sun rised. :skull: I can't wait to see your next creation! Klaus-Dieter
  25. That's an interesting topic, Shoc! As medieval farmers and citizens I use the this minifig from the set 1381 Vampire Crypt, Robin Hood minifigs (partly changed with different arms, legs, hats, ...) and I use the torsos from the new brilliant 10193 Medieval Market Village. Klaus-Dieter
