Apothecary MOC for Medieval Marketplace
Klaus-Dieter replied to brickzone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's again an absolutely amazing MOC, brickzone! I really it! This apothecary looks absolutely realistic! The design is perfect - and so do the interior, the accessory and the minfigs. The most I like the pair of scales, the bookshelf, the writing table and in general all that brilliant interior you added to the first floor! I like to see that you did use not again the light blue color but a mixture of tan and white since this house now looks much different to the tavern in the amazing 10193 set - great. A bakery and a apothecary - these are the two houses TLG really should release as addition for the awesome Medieval Market Village! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
That's again an absolutely amazing MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! This mine looks absolutely realistic! The design is perfect - and so do the interior, the accessory and the minfigs. The most I like the Indian artifacts, the skeletton in front of the cob webs and of course the elevator. The light effects are a very nice addition and fit very well. Very, very well done! So you think that the "Tantive 4 UCS Playset" was only a false news? I don't know. Plus think about that so many OT fans would so much like to see a Tantive 4 (me included) and there's no really big OT set known to us for this year until now. And when not for 2009 when would then be a perfect release date for a Tantive 4?! And even think about that the last years there was always a very big exclusive set released in October (2008: DS, 2007: Motorized AT-AT) - so it's imo highly supposably that there'll be one this year, too. Plus think about many AFOLs collecting UCS sets (me excluded!) and want to spend a lot of money on these imo senseless high detailed vehicles/figures. So for TLG it wouldn't be wise to release no UCS set. But of course I might in this point be wrong, too. Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome custom SW minifigure! It looks absolutely brilliant! Many thanks to the staff for organising, developing, paying and producing these amazing minifigs! Regrettably I won't take part in the contest - so surely no minifigure for me. But perhaps somewhere in the future. Klaus-Dieter

Bakery MOC for Medieval Marketplace
Klaus-Dieter replied to brickzone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's a totally amazing Castle MOC, brickzone! I really it! The architecture is perfect and the interior with all its accessory and adjustment is simply awesome! Only one suggestions: I wouldn't use the same color for the half timbered work and the same stairs like in the taverna of 10193 since so it looks a bit too similar. Otherwise it's perfect! Although I highly doubt it I really hope that TLG will offer us a medieval bakery as an add-on for the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village since a bakery would be absolutely necessary and would fit very well! Very, very well done! Btw: I designed a medieval bakery a while ago with LDD. You can find it here. But don't await too much since it's of course surely not that perfect than your MOC, brickzone. That's again a totally amazing MOC, TheBrickster! I really it! It looks very realistic and gloomy, the little cottage looks very nice, the graves are very well desigend and the minifigs, animals and the little tree add a mysterious atmosphere to it! Only two suggestions: I'd add some more branchs to the tree since how it looks now it's a bit thined out. And two round 1x1x1 on top of the chimney would imo make it looking a bit more stylish. Otherwise it's perfect! Btw: Does the little cottage have an interior? Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

It's a pity that you have no longer built it up. But I know that this is in the most cases not possible since you would need a lot of place to store your MOCs and a lot of money to buy another/new parts for new MOCs. So I always destroy my old MOC before I build a new one, too. Do you then plan to design something similar to this your great MOC - but with the new waterwheels? Klaus-Dieter

Exclusive Train 10194 Emerald Night (Exclusive 2009)
Klaus-Dieter replied to der seb's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Thank you very much for that picture, legomilk! It's obvious since all these PF-"modules" are sold seperately since under every single "module" there is written a set number. You already can find two of these "modules" on S@H: 8882 PF XL Motor and 8882 PF IR Receiver (I really wonder for what the IR Receiver is necessary ). Only these both PF-"modules" already cost 27 Euros. So you can imagine how expensive all that together than will get. Klaus-Dieter- 559 replies

That's a very interesting topic, Legoist! I personally am very glad that TLG does not include road plates in new City sets (until now - and I really hope that this won't change!) since I prefer much more the old light grey baseplates since 1. they look much nicer 2. you can buy the road plates you need from Ebay and do not always have to buy two different road plates in one pack of which you do not need one of them (e. g. when you want to buy some new dark-grey straight roadplates you always have to pay for a crossing roadplate, too, even though when you do not need the crossing roadplate but only the straight rod plate) and 3. simply because the old road plates are much cheaper. Btw: Welcome to EB, Legoist! Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely awesome MOC, erao! I really it! With its completely black color, its skylights, its doors and the stickers this limousine looks absolutely realistic! If only TLG releases something similar to this your excellent MOC! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's a great MOC, BlueBard! I really like it! The architectue is very well designed, the color scheme, the interior and the accessory and the choice of minifigs are great! Mainly the details on the interior are awesome realistic! The most I like the post officer with bag on his bicycle - that's so ! I am really, really hoping that TLG is going to release a (not too small!) post office next year, too! Your great MOC could make a good archetype for it! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's a very interesting topic, TheBrichster! Unlike the most of opinions shown here I really liked this theme. Although I'm really not a very big fantasy fan (I didn't like KK 1, KK 2 was even worse and I really hate the new "Castle" theme since 2007 since it is ) the Fright Knights Theme was and still is one of my favourite Castle themes. For me this theme offered that much fantasy which is agreeable for a castle theme - a witch, some dragons and some mysterious knights - since when there would be Castle completely without fantasy it would imo leave its charm. I luckily own some of these sets - but regrettably not the awesome Night Lord's Castle, the Witch's Balloon and all that nice little sets. The Night Lord's Castle is (although I regrettably don't own it until now) one of my favourite castles. There are so many minifigs included in this set and in principle everything which is need for caslte of the bad guys is included: the prison, the throne room and the witch's laboratory. Of course these Fright Knights sets can't compete against sets like the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village or the Lion King's Castle (from 1995). But that's imo even not the question. I don't say that these theme only offered good sets. E. g. the Witch's Balloon (or how it is called) was . But all in all it was a great theme! For me the source of all bad Castle or "Castle" sets (how your point of view is) began with KK 1. Btw: Why didn't you add a poll about whether people liked this theme or not to your topic?! Klaus-Dieter

That's an absolutely amazing MOC, Etzel! I really it! It was quite a good idea to change the Pirates' harbor in a medieval harbor! Apart from the orc it looks very well designed with the nice tree, the tower (with interior! ) and the lovely little bar. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's again an awesome Castle MOC, medieval_total_lego! I really it! The architecture of the part of the castle is brilliant, the "war vehicles" look really realistic and it's great to see that many minfigs! The most I like the cart which guards the invaders from downfalling stones and hot pitch. Only one question since I haven't seen something like that in history books before: What shall the little cart with the fire in it represent? Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's again an awesome Castle MOC, medieval_total_lego! I really it! The architecture is brilliant, the interior is brilliant and the minfigs fit perfectly! The most I like big tree and the shop. It looks very close to the Playmobil one! Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
That's again an awesome Castle MOC, medieval_total_lego! I really it! The architecture is brilliant, the interior is brilliant and the minfigs fit perfectly! The most I like the bay, the foliage plants on the roof and the flowers above the door. Very, very well done! Klaus-Dieter

That's an awesome Castle MOC, medieval_total_lego! I really it! The architecture is brilliant, the interior is brilliant and the minfigs fit perfectly! The most I like the chimney and the potter's wheel. I really hope that TLG will offer us some add-ons to the awesome Medieval Market Village which could look like this your excellent MOC! Very, very well done! And btw: Welcome to EB, medieval_total_lego! Klaus-Dieter

Good and interesting thought, Shoc! I have never thought about that until now. Yes, to get some Lego babies would be quite nice - of course with buggies. But at the momemt I'm already really content when I see that more woman minifigs and even two kids - in the awesome 10193 Medieval Market Village and the amazing 7641 City Corner - appear. If TLG goes on with this family-friendly politics that's really fine with me (and then I don't necessarily need some Lego babies). The absolute perfect thing would be if TLG offers us a big family home (similar to the Playmobil one) with a whole family (mother, father, son, daughter) - that would be absolutely awesome! Barn House of Barnabas Higgens
Klaus-Dieter replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
That's again a great MOC, TheBrickster! I really like it! The house looks very well designed and the accesory fits perfectly. The only thing which disturbs a bit is that the windmill is that near to the house.I really like the color scheme with the orange and brown - that looks much more interesting than only brown. The story about this your MOC is brilliant! Very well done! Klaus-Dieter -
Thank you very much for your nice comments, Calvin and Lordofdragonss! Thanks Calvin! Thanks Lordofdragonss! On the one hand I have to disagree with you since there were a lot of new molds: the parts for the tepees, the canoes, the chief's "crown", the brown "hat" with horns, the two different Indian feathers, the snakes and the Indian hair pieces. On the other hand I have to agree with you since there could have been some molds for new elements which TLG regrettably missed: e. g. buffalo. If TLG releases a new Indian theme I hope that they'll offer us some sort of Indians living in the plains - which would give us the possibility to get some buffalo! And btw: Welcome to EB, Lordofdragonss! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you all very much for your many votes and comments so far! I voted for the Boulder Cliff Canyon. Of course the Rapid River Village is bigger and offers more playability, more landscape, more accessory, more action elements, more minifigs and two tepees. Nevertheless the Boulder Cliff Canyon is my favourite one since I really like its landscape with the big round rock falling down, the stump and the "entrance" below it. There is so much included in only one medium sized set: different minfigs, accessory, two horses, a stake, an awesome landscape and a lovely canoe which make the set absolutely amazing! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Shoc and Richie! Thanks, Shoc! Like already mentioned I wouldn't have added the Adventure minifig to my Indian village if there was an official medicin man in the Indian them. But you're totally right that he doesn't fit that perfectly. Since this is a village of an Indian tribe there are men and women. But since TLG regrettably didn't release some Indian kids, too, I added them - two aren't much but better than completely no future for the tribe! Thanks, Richie! I totally agree with you! Imo the Indian sets were outstanding, too. I surely would buy some new sets, too. Although I'm - like you mentioned - aware that we might get some only cheap re-designs of the old sets (like partly in the new Pirates theme - although I must say that they look brilliant, but for somebody who already owns the old versions they are not that attractive). But I hope that TLG will be that intelligent and friendly not to only re-desgin the old sets and release them on worse quality. But of course you can never know. I don't think that this minifig should have supposed to be a medicine man - he wears weappons on the pictures. And even if though there are much too many of them - a tribe needs only one medicine man (ok, some more might be possible since we even so several chiefs, but these are too many). Klaus-Dieter

That's again a great MOC, TheBrickster! I really like it! The house is looking very well deisgned. The pier and the landscape look great. Since there are now new parts for water wheels: Why don't you change them (if you have this your MOC still built up)? Your water wheels look of course fine, too, but I think that with the new parts for the water wheel your MOC would even look better. Very well done! Klaus-Dieter

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Zorro, TheBrickster and Bounty Hunter! I of course voted for Outstanding since it was imo a great theme! There were a lot of action elements and playability for JFOLs and a lot of great and realistic architecture, landscape and design for AFOLs - so a perfect mixture! The only element which was missing was a medicine man with his tepee and his fire place. Of course I'd buy some new Indian sets if TLG hopefully will release some in the nearer future! Thanks, Zorro! When I was a child I always dreamed of owning all Western and Indian sets. And now a dream became reality! But mainly the Boulder Cliff Canyon, the Indians Kayak and the Showdown Canyon were sets which were very hard to get since they are offered only very seldom at Ebay - and then mostly even for a (at least for me) not affordable price. But sometimes you only must have luck! Thanks, TheBrickster! For me Western and Indians were always sets which belong together. But of course: If somebody would say: Hands up! Hand me either your Indian sets or your Western sets! then I'd give him the Indian sets and keep the Western sets. But I hope that this case will never happen. I really plan to set up a big Western/Indian, Castle and City/Town display with landscape and all which belongs to it somewhere in the future. And then I'll surely show you my display, too. But that'll surely take a lot of years since you really need much room (meaning: an own house with a big empty room) for that. So I'll regrettably have to wait a long while. Until then I display my sets from time to time in my semester holidays in my parents' living room (my student digs is not big enough) - the remaining time they doze in some boxes. Thanks, Bounty Hunter! Originally I owned the Rapid River Village from 1997. But it wasn't complete. So I bought it again when it was re-released in 2002. And I owned two Rain Dance Ridges, too. But since I now did only built up one of every I own some extra minifigs, too, which add some more live to the village. The Indian kids were no official minifigs - they are only put together of official minifig parts. The medicin man actually belongs to the Adventure theme but since TLG regrettably didn't include one in all the Indian sets (which is really a shame since every Indian tribe needs a medicine man ) I added him to the village. The toys for the Indian kids I did design myself. Klaus-Dieter
