".... well, if we were going to have a bad round, I guess that was the time to have it. " Nyx prepares to repeat her attack, with the continuing caveat that she'd switch targets as before, depending on which enemy was still alive at the time.
-
Aieee! A new quest to Dastan, and for the Rito no less! Nyx will be terribly disappointed to miss out on helping the brave Rito warriors.
-
I think the set you're thinking of is 6403 Paradise Playground. I kinda know it well. Here's a picture of the full build: No swing, I'm afraid.
-
"Uhm, yeah. Thanks. Can't promise anything, mind."
-
The magic flows around her, through her, she feels it, and it takes with it some of her sadness, like a release. In a fluid motion the magic moves her body in an arc, as it pushes out through her book. Her whole body and mind are the weapon, she is the weapon, as she connects with her enemy and he flies, with the force of the blow and the force of her magic, far across the shrine to land in a crumpled heap. She stands still, listening to the roaring in her ears, which suddenly stops, and as it does so she realises the ferocious sound is actually coming from deep within her, primal in nature. She feels much better, breathing, letting her body relax and enjoying the reconnection gained from the two good strikes. She turns and walks silently back to her original position, avoiding her comrades' gaze, but enjoying the refound warmth inside. "Cronk, I'll take Expert B as you suggest" her voice remains low and hoarse "but if there's a possibility we might strike at Zee this round, let me fight lower in the order. Arthur, would you not do more damage with your Diamond focused through your sword than with your staff alone?" Nyx grips her Diamond once more, planning her magical attack on Expert B, or Expert A if he's still standing, but making sure to have her Ruby handy should she be able to inflict damage on Zee.
-
The irony being that that's a charged passive aggressive statement in itself.
-
OoC Nyx is Encouraged, so damage should be 396 please. Nyx growls as she unleashes her force on her target. The attack feels good, and the feeling it gives her helps blot out the other emotions, releasing the tension inside. She turns to Cronk as she moves back, a wild look in her eyes. "Again?" is all she manages to utter.
-
Another great build of a real-life situation, Yatkuu, and I love the photography effects too. It instantly reminded me of the hugely successful film The Full Monty, especially when you said this!
-
Nyx merely nods in response to Cronk, and grips her diamond and book so tightly her knuckles turn white. She stays in the back row and focuses her thoughts on Master B.
-
Indeed she wasn't, but she did witness him gibbering like a fool on the floor subsequent to that battle. And although I don't remember anything specific being said at the time, it's easy to imagine it may well have been a topic of muttered conversation thereafter. Additionally, she's just about ready to hit anyone or anything that mildly annoys her right now, which Thothwick has appreciated, despite Thothwick not actually annoying her in the slightest.
-
Which is pointless, and as I already said is the exact opposite of actually being Lucky. The highest roll is usually the best roll, unless you happen to be in the unique situation of being a Lucky and Encouraged Battle Mage trying to heal oneself with a Healing Staff.
-
OoC Surely that's the antithesis of what Lucky actually means! Frustrated with her Healing Staff, Nyx closes her eyes and tries to keep the overwhelming feelings at bay. A voice cuts through. "And may I suggest" she growls at Arthur "that you keep your opinions to yourself, coward." She walks away, a small shard of happiness gleams inside her to see Poletad hopping next to Thothwick, but not enough for the anger to abate and the gleam fades quickly. She grips her Diamond and her book and focuses on Master A from the back row, with the intention of attacking Master B in a similar manner should her target have already fallen.
-
OoC Did you account for my Lucky status Zeph? I'd be amazed if I rolled two Shields, and virtually anything else would have healed me.
-
"I haven't made any threats, yet, Thothy." Nyx rasps, before sighing "I know you'll take care of Poletad." She carefully hands over the small frog to her friend before drawing out her Healing Staff and preparing to hit herself with it, staying in the back row.

Nyx lands another solid hit, but it just isn't enough to satisfy her. She turns around just in time to see the brave frog sigh and flop. She roars with anger and runs to crouch near his small body. "No, no, no, no, no, no, nooooo!" she continues to roar as she gently lifts up the small body and carefully places him in her pocket, the safest place she can think of. She could not stand the idea that someone may step on him until she has an opportunity to raise him. "Cronk" her voice is low, hoarse and raw like her emotions "they're all stunned right? Is that right? They can't act? We need to bring Poletad back, we have to. Let me do it now, unless you want Thothy to do it while I hit someone with my healing staff? You can still take a free hit from Zee, right?"
-
"Not at all, Cronk." Nyx makes sure she's still gripping her Diamond and attacks in the same manner as before.
-
"They may be dark foes, but they're not demons or undead as far as I can tell. They are however Humanoid, so I still think my Amethyst is best suited, thanks all the same." OoC Zepher, can you clarify this please? Choosing the right elemental offense is obviously important. I looked back and I didn't see anyone connect a Light attack on these baddies in past battles so I can't tell whether a Diamond would be effective or not.
-
"Oh shut the hell up you revolting sack of bones. I'll get to you later, don't you worry. No picnics for you this time. Cronk, I'm going to assume you're counterstriking this manky old hag here, so I'll make a start on the so-called Master of the Court of Demons A." Nyx cracks her knuckles with a look of pure distaste and limbers up to cast Darkness magic on her chosen target from the back row, using her book.

Nyx turns to Atramor as he casts her Lucky. "Thanks Atters" she says in a quiet voice, and even manages a small, grateful smile. "And whatever people want to do about trading accessories, I really don't care, as long as I get my stuff back later. Can we go and destroy some things now? Please?"
-
Even the vision couldn't blind her eyes to seeing him leave. "We have a long road ahead of us" - pah. If he wanted to be on that road he would have stayed. She refuses to be hurt, and the feeling is more of disappointment. The man she wanted wasn't leaving; the man she wanted wasn't the man she thought he was. She looks over the bombs he'd left behind. Useful enough, she supposes, but mere trinkets really, and disposable - after all that was their purpose. What a waste of her damn time. Whatever. Wren, Zoot and whoever else might get in her way now had one seriously pissed off fiery battle mage to deal with. She turns to look at the others, glowering and sullen. She forces a smile for Poletad as he hops up and down. "Brave Poletad, it does me good to see you again, more than perhaps you know. Hop up to my shoulder again so you may speak like the equal you are." "Atters, I think these bombs are meant for a later encounter. XX said to save them, and... despite everything, chances are that he's right." she sighs "Before we go any further, he also asked me to spare Sphinx, and to be honest I will if I can, but all I can do is pass this information on to you all and it will be your decision what to do if you encounter him." Nyx takes a deep breath and continues, not really wanting to say anything at all, let alone recount what had happened to her. "We, sort of opened a door together, me and XX. And, well, I think the two brothers and sister were talking to us, but I'm not completely sure it was them. It's all a bit difficult to explain, I was kind of smelling sounds, but it was almost as if they were talking in colours. Whoever they were, they were saying they want to see Olegaia burn, which personally I'm absolutely fine with right now, and that the Court and Wren were puppets in their game. There were three voices, one felt 'greenish', one felt 'light bluish' and one definitely felt 'red'. The 'red' one said they were mine and XX's master because we are children of the flame. Anyway, there's more going on here than just Wren and her cronies, but basically we just have to stop them all. I'll try very hard not burn Eubric down myself, but right now I'm not making any promises. Point me in the direction of someone to punch repeatedly and set fire to, it may as well be Zee, but frankly I don't care. I have some... issues to work out." Nyx throws her Explosive Staff at Atramor, not too hard, and with a little less care than she ever has before. "Take it. I want it back later, but it's not going to be much use against undead and you can do you poison thing with it. Arthur, feel like casting me lucky? I still have a Mead in my system but it's always nice to be lucky."
