  1. Does Guts want to try saying that to Nyx?
  2. "Hoke, if you play with that damn weapon of yours one more time, I will ram it down your throat. You're supposed to be attacking!" Nyx shakes her head in disbelief at Hoke. "Well, getting rid of two enemies last round was helpful and... nobody on our side died, so... we're doing ok, I think. Right, well, I'm not sure what we did to our Gray Wizard, but.. can we do it again? We need to inspire him with some passion, guys, so let's see some! Vipera, I would be most grateful if you could cast Lucky on Alexis. Her hitting twice means she needs some extra luck. Mallelio, I need you on the attack this round, and I'd like for you to turn your attention to Advanced Chimera Guard E with your Topaz, please. Gray Wizard!" Nxy whirls round to face him, eye to eye. "Feel this! Feel my passion, if you must! Passion to fight for what is right and true! You feel it in your heart, I know you do, and I know you can feel it in the hearts of my companions too! There is more than enough for you here, not just me. Alexis, Hoke, Thothy, Mallelio, Vipera... use us, use our passion to power yourself and focus on healing. Please. We just have to hold fast and stand firm; we can do this. I know we can." Nyx retrieves her Diamond, and with all the force she can, she casts Light on Chaos Beast B from the back row. Battle Order: >Vipera casts Lucky on Alexis >Hoke vs Chaos Beast A >Thothwick >Alexis >Nyx vs Chaos Beast B >Alexis >Mallelio vs Advanced Chimera Guard E >Gray Wizard heals himself OoC I suggest leaving Advanced Chimera Guard A for Hoke's counterstrike.
  3. Nyx looks at the mass of enemies, her comrades looking determined but weary. They were becoming exhausted by the free hits, and taking time to note this, Nyx realises they have taken their toll on her too. Healing has to be done, but at what cost? With a Sage and a Cleric... but... hmmm. "Vipera, we need our Sage to be lucky. Please can you use your abilities to make Mallelio lucky? Mallelio, I think you will have to heal yourself, but I hear you might be able to pull off some sort of vortex of magic. We need that now, we really do; damage them and heal us. Thothy, I need you to target Chaos Beast B please. I know it's risky, but... we need to limit the damage from free hits. I can't kill either of the Chaos Beasts in one hit just yet, so I will focus on the Bombster and hope to take him out this round. Alexis will have to face two enemies again, and thus will have two chances for taking damage, and the others are at risk of dying - Alexis, it is possible you could take out the Advanced Chimera Guards D and E, so do you think you could target them please?" Nyx turns to the, so far, silent Wizard. "Gray Wizard, you're a quiet one, but I need you to really wield that staff right now. You feed on passion, right? Feed on me, I'm a bloody fire mage turned battle mage, you'll not find much more passion than right here! Summon your strength and fight! Fight for what you know is right! We need you to, for crying out loud, all of Olegaia is at risk if you don't, so you must fight and you can bloody well attack Advanced Chimera Guard A in the process!" Nyx is almost roaring, as frustration, anger, concern and determination wash over her in waves. They just needed a lucky break, and hopefully Vipera could help with that. She grips her Amethyst and book ever tighter and focuses once more at the Bombster. She nods with some satisfaction that everyone remains, for now, in the back row. Battle Order: >Thothwick vs Chaos Beast B? >Hoke vs Chaos Beast A >Nyx vs Bombster B >Alexis vs Advanced Chimera Guard D? >Vipera casts lucky on Mallelio >Mallelio Heals himself >Alexis vs Advanced Chimera Guard E? >Gray Wizard vs Advanced Chimera Guard A Any disagreements or other suggestions are welcome.
  4. "Thanks Alexis, but my name's Nyx. " Nyx is visibly impressed at how quickly Alexis takes to her new Class as she displays a viciousness that Nyx herself enjoys. Her smile drains completely though, as Felton falls to the Bombster's tricks at the end of the round. Ignoring the lump in her throat she surveys the field once more, knowing now is not the right time to be sentimental. "Mallelio, we have no intention of running - we intend to fight, although I will bear your kind offer in mind. You are brave, I know this, so fight with us. Felton, I hope to hell you can hear us, we'll try to get you back on your feet. Vipera, could you attempt to raise him? Alexis, I like your style, please keep doing what you're doing with that assassination stuff. Gentleman Hoke, if you could stop playing with your weapon for a few moments, we could really use your help in cutting these guys back down to size. Mallelio, Gray Wizard, hopefully you should be protected to some degree from those nasty mechanical specials, so if you could just attack the weakest mechanicals that'd be great. And feel free to pull off a healing doo-hickey in the process." Once more Nyx feels the responsibility on her shoulders. So much at stake here, but she was designed for battle now, after all. She looks at Bombster B, and tries to keep thoughts of men and bombs out of her mind. The emotion swells though, so she channels it through her Amethyst and Book at this pretender. Battle Order: >Vipera raises Felton (pleeeeeaaaaaase) >Hoke vs Chaos Beast B >Thothwick - yet to choose action >Alexis eats Health Core >Nyx casts Darkness on Bombster B >Felton (if resurrected) vs Chimera Guard A >Mallelio casts Lightning on Advanced Chimera Guard D >Alexis vs Chaos Beast A >Gray Wizard attacks Advanced Chimera Guard E Everyone back row again.
  5. Nyx was even quite nice to Zee, although I doubt that would have made much difference in the long run. And ditto. I have deliberately not looked at the specific numbers of potential health lost (I just don't want to know) and I've just picked the best actions I can think of for the NPCs. Heaven help us, is all I can say.
  6. Since we're all metagaming here, should I say anything about Werewolf?
  7. "Hullo Mallelio, you have quite the talent for getting yourself into scrapes. Good to see you old friend, we'll get working on getting you out of here safely. Glad to see you could bash them about a bit before we got here, but it seems they've been ganging up un you." Nyx winks at Mallelio and surveys the room. Bloody mechanicals, and bloody chaos beasts, and blood bombsters, but bombsters could mean... She refocuses, and starts to formulate what she hopes is some sort of plan. "Mallelio, please stand with us back here. Those damn mechanical thingies are going to hit us a few times this first time round, and you're in no shape to fight right now, so please take the time to heal yourself. Vipera, sweet dragon, I know you have a close connection with gentleman Hoke here, but may I impose upon you and ask you to cast me lucky? I will try my best to keep you out of harm's way. Gray Wizard, we've not had much time to chat, but would you be so kind as to smite Chaos Beast B with your staff? Alexis, would you mind attacking one of the mechanicals with your second hit, as I think Felton would be most suited to attacking Bombster B. The rest of us will also start work on these mechanical beasties, and I'm hoping I might be able to take one out in one blow. Thothy, is it ok with you to take on one of these mechanical monstrosities too? Does anyone disagree? Oh, and in case this all goes horribly wrong, Hoke, I'd very much like you to take charge if I fall." Nyx grips her tome tightly in her right hand, and her Topaz in her left, planting herself firmly in the back row. She focuses her destructive will against Advanced Chimera Guard C with all her might, secretly hoping her spider might reappear. Battle Order: Hoke vs Chaos Beast A Thothwick vs Advanced Chimera Guard A? Alexis vs Bombster A Gray Wizard vs Chaos Beast B Alexis vs Advanced Chimera Guard B? Felton vs Bombster B Nyx vs Advanced Chimera Guard C (Felton's unblockable free hit vs Advanced Chimera Guard D) Vipera casts lucky on Nyx Mallelio heals himself Everybody Back Row. (For my reference)
  8. Oh it absolutely is, but you're twisting my words and not following your own logic here. You said: Which is you saying that you making your weird proclamations doesn't hurt the scum. Which is why I said: So you saying: Means you're not even following our conversation properly. I'd be offended if it weren't so scummy. For clarity, I'll quote the original post (without your vote for me, lest it accidentally be counted): You're quite clearly referring to the scum, not town, when you say "And it doesn't hurt them" because you've been referring to the scum throughout the post up to that point. The 'they' and 'them' refers to scum, so the 'them' in "And why would it hurt them?" also refers to the scum. By the way, you take issue with me claiming to Hinck to save my life but you don't have a problem with the Watcher claiming to Scouty? P.S. It's taken me forever to post this damn post because suddenly everybody's decided to talk and I keep having to read the interim posts.
  9. You managed to argue in a full circle there, potato. You say: badboy isn't scummy because Corny was, and badboy was too obvious (despite not voting for himself), but he could be scum because he might have been trying to copy Cornelius, so in fact he might be scummy because Corny wasn't. Most of us here can work those theories out, what we'd like to hear are your opinions on what he was actually doing. Essentially, do you think he's scummy or not? Uhm, ok. If I tell you to be purple, will you be purple? Why should you care who the scum trust or not? Wouldn't it actually help our cause more if they inadvertently trusted a Townie and revealed themselves? And why the hell should you care whether or not you hurt the scum?? After your explanation is actually sounds even more like you were trying to shout a warning to your counterpart scum team. Apologies Zeph, I said you had only focused on me, when in actuality you only mostly focused on me. You did indeed point your finger at Tammo and Big Cam in your earlier post. Tunnel vision? Against you? badboy? Cam? Potato? And where did I lie in PM? Not one single person I've spoken with in PM has said I've lied. Scouty is still unsure of what he perceives as an inconsistency, and Hinck felt there was an inconsistency too, but these have been openly discussed. Despite your drive to get people talking, my vote is staying with you for now. You trusted everything Hinck said when he turned up town? But ignored the whole him-unvoting me thing. It was blatantly obvious that Hinck and I were talking and working together just before the end of the day, but that piece of information goes ignored. Additionally, you didn't exactly have an opinion about me, you just put blind trust in a dead guy and didn't even wait to see if anyone had any interesting information to share (and it seems, so far they haven't). You can still actively participate without PM conversations. There was even a whole mafia game without PM conversations, and that worked just fine. There's a ton of information in the thread, we'd just like to know your opinion on it. Leaving aside the obvious here (that you're asking for people to share secrets in PM), if you don't have the facts about something then you can ask. Seek to clarify; that's what happened yesterday when Scouty was forced to reveal his role - a lot of people asked him questions to clarify the information presented. If you think a mayor isn't that much help, why volunteer? And you wanted to be mayor so you would be watched? I still fail to understand why you put yourself forward and then just didn't vote for yourself. It's like you didn't want to be too obvious about it, and if you were emulating Cornelius - well, he voted for himself. If anybody had strongly disagreed with you being mayor then they could easily have voted for someone else. And it's not as if Hinck died solely because he was mayor yesterday, so I don't see how your opinion has changed aside from developing superstition.
  10. Zepher, you still haven't given good explanations about your behaviour, specifically the weird levelling-up the votes thing, and and the gambit-broadcasting. I've explained myself over and over, yet you persist in pushing at the same point and keeping the discussion today about me. All other discussion has stopped, as I suspect you hoped it would. You continue to attack me from the most unusual standpoint (by which I mean scum) and offer absolutely no opinion on anyone else whatsoever. Right now, you are the scummiest looking person to me, however badboy and Cam come in a close second and third. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to answer questions all you like, but not for it to be the only topic of discussion today. Some people need to come back and explain themselves, and hell, the rest of you need to start giving some damn opinions. Vote: Zepher
  11. At the risk of sophistry, this is, as I've said, a matter of interpretation. If you'd heard me say it out loud, you would not be thinking this. Remember that British English is slightly different from American English. Words like 'really' and 'quite' can mean different things on different sides of the pond. I said what I said because I thought it was clear, which it evidently wasn't to you. Additionally "really believe" is vastly different to "really know" in my book, but apparently it isn't in yours. And I'm not taking any steps back.
  12. I didn't twist your words at all. I took a risk claiming to Hinck because I felt my life was on the line. There's nothing more to it than that.
  13. At no point can anyone claim to another person they trust? Ever? Even though Scouty did the same thing? And I couldn't be sure he was town, of course not, but I think it's pretty clear that Hinck and I had been talking a lot by that point and I felt I could trust him. What would have been a better time then? Bearing in mind there were only a few hours left in the day and the big-hitters of Hinckley, Draggy and Shadows had already voted for me, and it very much looked like everyone else was following suit. Should I have claimed at the point where my votes were in the lead? Because that would have surely happened, and I would have had very little time to claim and turn the lynch around. I felt there was very little time as it was. Better dead very shortly after an extra night than lynched yesterday. One minute you're saying I'm scummy and the next you're saying I'd be dead if Hinck had shown up scum, which implies you know I'm town. So the fact that you're still trying to paint me as scummy, draws my attention further onto you.
  14. I think this is a great topic for discussion. The sets are better than I hoped for; I remember first building Olivia's House, and just thinking the whole set was wonderful. There are so many details, like the inside furnishing and the new bugs, plus it's a really good looking set. I think Friends has moved in a positive direction, with many different pastimes for the Friends to enjoy, although some of them can seem a bit girly. Yes, there's quite a bit of pink (and purple) but with the sets TLG have introduced some wonderful new colours and parts and accessories. The sets in Heartlake City go further to furnish a Townscape than most City sets, in my eyes. If LEGO released sets for a Veterinary Surgery, a Stables, a Café, a Flying School and all the other activities in LEGO City, then I have no doubt everyone would be hugely excited about them, especially with the furnishing and accessories. I think a lot of people are put off by the pink and the cutesy side (like the animals) not to mention the minidolls. Personally, I find those elements easily removable if they get too much, and the rest of the sets are pure excitement and building joy. There are so many different directions they can take with this line, and I think it's great they have plenty of scenarios that aren't traditionally girly along with the (expected) girly sets. I don't think anyone expected Friends to not be girly, it's for girls after all, but it could have been so much more saccarine and nauseating. I did expect it to be building on a par with Paradisa (and the rest of Town), and it has certainly lived up to that, but it hasn't been limited to a pastel colour scheme. I expected to become righteously indignant at some of the sets they might produce, but that never happened. I have an awful lot of Friends stuff (as one might expect, really) - I really like it, and I still get excited about the new stuff too.
  15. "Atramor, I swear that if you die and lose my staff forever, I will find you and resurrect you, and kill you over and over again in the most painful ways I can dream up. And I'll finally cook your damn chicken. Admittedly I could pick up the staff if I did find you, but I'd still kill you a thousand painful times just on principle. Bottom line, you come back alive. Or else." Nyx's concern for her staff was genuine, but it allowed her to to show some concern for Atramor, something she felt he would scoff at or throw back in her face. "Aside from that, having whatever beastie Wren means to summon have more health is much less worrying than it being more powerful or than it being lucky. I agree with the consensus that rescuing Triad is better than trying to close that spire and that Atramor alone should go. And bloody well come back again." "Skrall, I don't take offense from that at all, and I hope you know I have faith in you as a leader. I have not forgotten all that you did in that final battle in Dastan. You know you can rely on me, and I would be happy for you to lead the party." "Thanks Cronk, and thanks Arthur for the Opal, too. Alexis, seeing as you don't really need it anymore, could I have my Monkey Bar back please? I may still have some use for it sometime. So onto the plan. Well, as I've said I think we're focusing on the right locations. I agree Skrall should head up the second party, and I would like to rescue my friend Mallelio, but I will go wherever is needed. I have been more effective against mechanical beasts chaos beasts before, so I think I'd be better against them. As long as we have a good division of magic users and healers (bearing in mind that we lose one healer in Atramor, but gain one with the Grey Wizard), big hitters and of items, we should be ok. We can do this Cronk, we just have to believe in ourselves." OoC Nyx drank a Mead earlier, so she should be encouraged.
  16. It is so hard, isn't it? Not one thing has struck you as odd or comment-worthy? You've not disagreed with anything anyone has said? You've not read anything that doesn't sit well with you? Nothing? What an odd thing to say. Hinck's 'alliance' (and I assume you mean affiliation) was only 'revealed' on his death. Should I PM him now? Now it's clear he's town? You smell scummy Zepher. Well obviously I do have something to hide, but I'm still town though. Saying that makes me think you want everyone to roleclaim openly in the thread, which... is scummy. Or very daft. It sounds like certainty to you, but unfortunately that's a matter of interpretation. The words 'really think' are, to my mind, a stark contrast to 'believe' or 'know'. Me saying 'I really think he's scum' is me saying 'with all the information I have right now, I'm not sure, but if I had to place a bet, then I'd say the watcher is scum'. Information changes things, and I'm willing to accept that the watcher might not be scum, in fact I've already said that. I said to you that the watcher might be scum (he might) and thus it would be sensible for you to tell one person you trust his name, lest his name die with you at some point. I also said at the same time that it ran the risk of you giving a potentially townie watcher name to a potential scum. I think you have misinterpreted what I said. Again, I think you've misunderstood. The points we were making was that the language used by the Watcher was weird. I pointed that out, Rick pointed it out. It sounded, from the information we were given, like the watcher was reporting tracking results, which made me doubt his veracity. Hence me thinking, on the balance of probabilities, at that time, that there was a good chance he was scum. I haven't changed my gameplay at all. I didn't see the point, because everyone always gets it wrong. I'm not even trying to act scummy to camouflage the fact I'm town. I believe I'm playing a straight townie game, but I've believed that before and been lynched for it, so... I'm kind of stuck. I understand your logic, but accusing me of being scum for being too townie is WIFOM to the nth degree and we will end up swallowing our tails. See my point above. As to what happened, well, I'll get to that. I understand why you did it, like I said I had actually already said to Hinck that he needed to convince people who would be listened to. It was an unfortunate series of events, and I still (currently) believe you're not scum. I think this is the best way forward. I will, however, remove some parts (and indicate where they have been removed) because even townies have secrets. <Removed reply> As an interjection here, I know that this message has already been quoted in the thread. Just a small note, the votes between myself and Hinck were a lot closer than he thought. A couple of unvotes from Hinck to revote on me would have changed a lot. And when I mention Fabuland Housewives I obviously forgot The Forest 2, before anyone points that out. Essentially both town, night action, Fabuland, died early. So there it is. I think I've made it clear why I've removed some of the things I have, not all of you need to know all of this. Some people will get the full picture. For what it's worth, I think Draggy looks town (but then... he's Draggy), and (and I never thought I'd say this) there is, apparently a good reason to believe Shadows is town too. Amy seems to have disappeared, so I think he's worthy of scrutiny. I'm still happy to answer questions, but focusing solely on me won't get you anywhere.
  17. I would have thought that was pretty damn obvious from yesterday, but there was even more to it than that. As to giving you any further details, well, that'd be silly, really. But whatever it was that Hinck and I talked about (bearing in mind it's Hinck we're talking about here) it was enough for him to unvote me. And that does matter.
  18. If Hinck, knowing he was about to be lynched, had felt that either myself or Scouty were scum, he would have voted for either of us. Simple as that. He had plenty of time, and of course he said 'if' because how can anyone know anyone else is town? And trying to push us down the path of ignoring everything else. I heard from Hinck that you were combing through all the posts looking for inconsistencies and scumtells. Found anything yet? We're on day three, after all.
  19. Oh, and was this a confession? Because it's patently obvious that I have accused others today. Still lonely, without a conversion, perhaps?
  20. That's quite a reaction there Cam. I remember that game too, I played it as well (and I won, which was nice). I even remember a comment about the number of dead players reading the day thread might have given the mechanics away, and there are a lot of dead players reading. However, the number of kills, as I said, makes this a very different circumstance. It has crossed my mind that def would lock us in here to metagame ourselves to death, but that was a Mafystery game. This is a Mafia game. So I ask again, who do you think is killing all these people? I mentioned that. And I mentioned that too.
  21. You are wilfully ignoring the most salient point. That Hinck UNVOTED me, because we were working together and he believed (rightly) that I am town. If you're putting stock in dead men's words you're looking in the wrong place, which is one of the reasons I am looking at you. The fact that you are willing to only focus on the earlier events of yesterday is intriguing. You comments have been pointed out by others, but you were ignored in the mess that was yesterday, and now you're trying to push today in the same direction. Read back, Hinck UNVOTED me. Rick was arguing from the same stand point as me. I was telling Scouty I thought he (Scouty) was town. I gave my opinion on Dave that he was probably town. These are not scum actions or points of view. I believe I was probably left alive because the scum felt I would be an easy lynch today. Not so, not if I can help it.
  22. O great and powerful def, may we know the allegiance of DannyLongLegs who was trampled by horses yesterday? First off, I'm not surprised that any of the dead are town. Hinckley and I were working closely together in the final moments of yesterday, having agreed with each other that we're both town. That's why he unvoted me. He could easily have left his vote on me to try to save himself. Same with Rick, another good townie lost, and another ally who was questioning events from the same stand point as me yesterday. Oh, and Dave, yeah he voted for me, but remember how suspicious it was (apparently) when I said I thought he was town, and everyone else disagreed. I expect the argument that I may have had Rick or Dave killed to provide this argument, however both of them? For the record, I didn't have either killed, because I'm town. Yeah, me too. Hinck left me his real reasons for voting for me in the first place, and all that notwithstanding, as I've already said, it is obvious he and I were working together at the end of the day. Which is why he unvoted me. Yup, see above, and then he unvoted me. You yourself think like a scum, you often say so. If you really think that I can manipulate Hinckley, of all people, then you are sorely misguided. If you think I can do so in a few hours, then... that's kinda a compliment, even though it's wrong. I'm sorry Cam, but this strikes me as a very scummy thing to say. Who do you propose is killing all these people then? How do you know I haven't been targeted by the serial killer? He's the day killer. I'm pretty sure I haven't because it looked to me like the day killer wanted to target Dave, but someone else got there first. You didn't mention this, though, which is odd. And this sounds very much like a pre-emptive guilty conscience. Before this turns into the Pandora vs Shadows show, lets not have a rerun of yesterday, where all other concerns fall by the wayside. I'd like to start with us each giving some time to think about Zepher. Quiet little Zepher, who's been almost mouse-like, but when he has appeared he's done some odd things, like trying to unnecessarily even up a lynch vote, and broadcasting loudly about potential gambits for all to hear. Hinck found him most odd too, so I think this is worth a bit of exploration. Additionally, it's now evident who's been hit with the crappy roleplay stick today.
  23. Dealing more damage? No complaints from me, thanks Sandy!
  24. "Ah Cronk, there's always hope. Well, not always, but usually. Sometimes. And actually, hope isn't always that good... Anyway, I agree with Skrall, we should get going, unless we need another costume change?"
  25. Please don't be nervous, this is a pleasant place with lots of fun and lots of great things to see and participate in. If you're interested in old sets, there's lots of info around, and a few restoration projects too. Welcome, and have fun.
