That would only work if they were using normal LEGO minifig heads instead of the large, molded ones they are using. So sadly there's no way the CMF radiation suit helmet (or any normal LEGO minifig headgear, really) is going to fit onto the Simpson heads. Which really stinks, because we'll never see (or be able to make on our own) Simpson variations with new headgear (like Bart in his lucky red cap) unless they make a new mold.

Oh, I could go on and on. But I'm going to try to limit myself and make a semi-realistic wish-list wave of sets. I'm trying to think of things that a) LEGO could realistically make (System style sets, so nothing on scale with the Simpsons house), b) give us some characters that may not be in the CMF line and give us some variations on ones that we are most likely getting (and give LEGO a chance to save money and reuse a mold), and c) appeal enough to both kids and adult fans. Honestly, it's almost stupid that LEGO isn't making some smaller, cheap Simpson sets from the get-go because there'd be so many adult non-LEGO fans who would easily throw down 20 to 50 bucks on a small set or two to display on their desk at work. I have so many non-LEGO friends who went bananas for the Back to the Future set and display it proudly. Also using the TMNT model where if you buy most or all of the sets, you get the whole main family. And I'm not including Moe's since LEGO already said they'd never, ever make that (they don't want alcohol references in a kid's toy, which is fair). Homer's Work Station Minifigs (2): Homer (maybe with radioactive suit seen in the opening credits, doesn't need helmet since that would require a new mold), and either Mr. Burns, Smithers, Lenny, or Carl. Basically just his workstation and chair. Maybe an inanimate carbon rod, complete with medal. Small impulse set. $12.99 The Android's Dungeon Minifigs (3): Comic Book Guy, Bart as Bartman, and a random kid that won't be in the CMF line (probably Martin). Doesn't need an outside, really. Just a counter, back wall, and a rack full of comics (tiles with stickers). $20 range. Otto's Bus Minifigues (3 or 4): Otto, Lisa (maybe in hiking gear, just to give her a variation) , another random kid not in the CMF line, and maybe Skinner. Not too many truly iconic vehicles in the show that would make good sets, but this one is pretty iconic I think. Would need to be a shortened version though, so maybe only two or three rows of seats, not including Otto's seat. $35 or $40. Kwik-E-Mart Minifigs (4 or 5): Apu (in Kwik-E-Mart uniform that he sometimes wears, because his normal version will most likely be CMF), one bully (Jimbo, Curly, or Dolph), Jasper, and Marge (in her green jacket she sometimes wears), and maybe Maggie. Would include front counter, Squishee machine, one or two simple aisles, freezer, and front of building with sliding doors. Would include the 2nd Simpson's car (Marge's red car). Jasper would be able to be "frozen" in the freezer. Apu could catch the bully in the act of shoplifting. Could easily make Squishee cups using the new coffee cup that comes with the barista in the LEGO Movie CMF line. $50 or $60. Bart's Treehouse Could go two ways with the minifigures. Either conventional with Bart, Milhouse, Nelson, Grandpa and Herman (to recreate the classic "Bart the General" episode). Don't know how they'd do Herman's missing arm though, without a hole in his side showing. OR they could go all out and give us a Treehouse of Horror themed set. Figures would most likely be variations of existing molds that could be easily re-painted. Like Marge as a witch or Maggie with tentacles (using those squid legs from the Atlantis theme) or any other character as a zombie. The treehouse and tree should be pretty detailed so it easily pairs with the Simpsons House set. $80 to $100 depending on the detail/size. Aaaaaand I couldn't help myself, so here are two bonus Special Edition wish-list sets! Police Chase Minifigs (3 or 4): Chief Wiggum, Snake, Bart (in blue shirt that's never really seen in the show, but was used a lot in early promos), and maybe Lou or Eddie. Comes with a police car and a wall for Bart to spray paint 'El Barto' on (sticker). Bart would also have his skateboard. Snake could come with a crowbar and bag of cash to steal. Or maybe the wall section could have a detachable ATM that Snake could steal (I think there was a recent City set that had that feature?). $25 to 30 Krusty Burger Minifigs (4): Krusty, Pimply Faced Teen, Homer (maybe with Mmmmmmm face complete with drool), and random fourth figure (someone popular with fans but not popular enough to be CMF. Personally, I'd love for it to be Moleman). Similar in size and detail of Kwik-E-Mart set. Front counter, menu, small cooking/frying area, one or two tables with seats, maybe a drive-thru window with menu/intercom. $40 to $55 depending on size and detail. I know this will never happen, but a Simpsons fan can dream, right?

Superman vs. Lex Luthor, hands down. I really want to get into the Super Heroes line, but none of the sets have really grabbed me yet, and this set is the only one I've ever broken down and actually bought. It's just a thing of pure beauty, I'm a sucker for giant robots, and the Wonder Woman fig is awesome. It's a little ironic that this is the only Super Hero set I own considering that I'm more of a Marvel fan and I just hate Superman as a character.

Mmmmmmm, donut... *drools* Homer looks SO much better with the open eyes. I look forward to seeing the rest of the family with their "normal" versions. This might be the first CMF line where I'll have to get every single figure.

But it was really easy to make many, many sets based off of all things Jabba related. It featured many locations and even after four great sets, they could still find a few things to make more sets off of if they really wanted (like a dungeon). Sadly I don't think we'll be getting any Cantina add-on or related sets in the near future like we saw with the Jabba stuff, and it comes down to the placement of the main characters. With the Jabba sets, the main characters were spread out pretty evenly, with at least two in each set. Buy them all, get all the main heroes and their many costume changes. In contrast, the one Cantina set we are getting already has all the main human characters from that scene (Luke, Han, Obi-Wan) and there is no way LEGO would release another Cantina or Mos Eisley related set without including a main character (kids love main characters and heroes). Ok, Chewie and the droids were left out, but I don't think LEGO would want to build a set just around them without a human hero (the recent Escape Pod set being the exception). Also, after this Cantina, what else could you make that would be iconic and sell well and include all the missing aliens that we want? They already threw a Landspeeder in this set, so can't do that. There's Docking Bay 94, but that's just a giant round room with nothing in it (parked Millennium Falcon sold separately). The alleyways of Mos Eisley? I mean, I'd personally love a Mos Eisley alleyway set, but kids would find it boring. So sadly, I don't think we're going to get a shot at [insert name of your favorite Cantina alien that's not a minifigure yet] until they rehash this set in ten to fifteen years.

3 Bith figs? While I'm excited we're finally getting that fig, I'm bummed we're getting THREE of them in one go, instead of Ponda Baba or any other Cantina alien or character. Two would have been a perfect number. Maybe this set will be modular and we'll get more Cantina aliens in the next few waves, but I highly doubt it. Oh well.
-
There's been LOTS of characters who've lost limbs and hands in the movies that LEGO has made many minifigs of (Anakin, Vader, Luke, C-3P0, Mace Windu, etc.). I don't think that would stop them from releasing a Ponda Baba figure. If a kid is going to yank an arm or two off a minifig and break it, that's their own fault. I know I pulled my fair share of minifig arms off when I was a kid.

Really hope those stickers are clues at some figures from the CMF series. Fingers crossed!

ANYWAYS, back to talking about 2014 releases and rumors... I don't think there's anyway the Luke figure in the book is going to be a special Episode VII preview figure. Rumors are that the script isn't even 100% done, nor has pre-production really gotten started yet. Kind of hard to make a figure off a costume that hasn't even been created yet.

If I can only get one Microfighter set (but let's face it, I'll pick up at least half of them), it would probably be this one. It's just so...dare I say it...CUTE! Thanks for posting these pics, it looks good from all angles!

Hopefully a poncho, Bespin, Dagobah, or hospital gown (at the end of ESB) Luke. I'm hoping for hospital gown Luke, since poncho, Bespin, and Dagobah Lukes would have a good shot at appearing in an actual future set someday down the line. I hope LEGO wouldn't be lame or lazy and give us a version we've gotten recently and just stick the new Luke hair on it. Like a Luke as Stormtrooper with new Luke hair, bleh! Also find it funny that all the sets on the cover will most likely still be in stores when the book comes out. "Hey, kids! Get your parents to buy this book and everything on the cover!"

I mean, I'd say if you have the money and importing the set wouldn't put you into massive debt or cause you to go broke, then yes, it's worth it. It's probably my most absolute favorite set that I own and I don't see it being knocked of that title anytime soon. It's really good, a really fun build, and it's a great display piece. EDIT: Yaaay, 100th post! I'm now a citizen!

$3.99? Ouch! I guess they have to make up the cost of all the new head molds somehow. Guess I'm going to have to be more picky about which characters I pick up, instead of just trying to get them all. Hope that price doesn't continue when/if the regular CMF line continues afterwards.
-
Yessssssss! I was fearing that is would be $250+ and unattainable. But $199? I might actually be able to get it now! Woo-hoo! What do you think the odds of it being still on the shelves come next fall (my birthday) or Christmas? That's probably the only way I'll be able to get it.
-
That inside looks great! And I was right when I guessed a few weeks ago that the car will have a sunroof for Marge's hair to stick out of! Yaaay! I'm still scared about what the potential price for this is going to be.

My first thought: EEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! (And yes, I really made that noise when my girlfriend showed me this picture. Yes, I'm a 28 year old adult who squealed really loudly in front of his lady over a picture of a toy. No shame.) My second thought: D'oh! There is no way I'll ever be able to afford this. Like...ever. I mean, over 2500 pieces and a licensed set? And with so many new head molds? Looking at LEGO's past pricing, there is no way this is going to be below $250. Might even be as high as, gulp, $300! I'm personally too poor for that and I already somehow convinced my family to get me Ewok Village (a $250 set) this past Christmas and there's no way they'd drop that much cash on one set for me ever again (which is totally fair). So unless I win the lottery or have a distant relative die and leave me everything, this set will always be out of my reach. Sigh. As good as it looks, I kinda wish LEGO would have aimed for something around $100 to $150 and just given us the front of the house with an open back. That way, waaaaay more people would be able to afford it, especially casual fans and consumers. I mean, this set and the Simpsons line in general would have been a good way for LEGO to get a lot of adults back in to LEGO again. But a lot of those people are going to see a $200+ price tag and say no thanks. Look at the Back to the Future set as a good example. It was easily affordable and I saw a LOT of my friends who's LEGO days were long behind them dropping cash on that set and coming back into the fold. Oh well, at least I'll be able to afford the Simpsons minifigure line, so there is some silver lining I guess.

Soooo happy we're finally getting a cantina! I'm for sure getting that one! I'm wondering just how many figures we're actually getting with it. So we know for sure we're getting Luke, Han, Greedo (yay!), a Sandtrooper, and I think it's safe to assume that the two 'Squidwards' will be cantina band members. I'm just wondering if there are any more figures out of frame of the leaked image we got, behind the back half of Luke's speeder? I'm going to guess that we'll get at least one more figure, and hopefully it'll be an alien. It's pretty weird that LEGO would finally give us an Ithoian figure but put it in a Yoda Chronicles set, and NOT the cantina, right? And we all know how when LEGO makes a unique new mold they love to put it in as many sets as possible to get their moneys worth on making a new part. So my gut tells me we'll see Hammerhead in the cantina. And I'm going to cross my fingers and hope we're getting at least one more fig in this set, giving us eight figs total. I mean, we'll probably not get another cantina set for a long, long while, if ever again, so I really hope LEGO makes it count and throws in as many obscure alien figs as possible. I guess the only way to know for sure is to wait until Toy Fair next month.

Santa was very good to me this year! Under the tree this year, Star Wars wise, I found 9491 Geonosian Cannon, 75016 Homing Spider Droid, 75020 Jabba's Sail Barge, and, drum roll please, 10236 EWOK VILLAGE!!! My jaw dropped when I found out I was getting the Ewok Village. I put it on my wishlist, but didn't think I'd actually get it. I mean, it's so expensive! It was probably the most fun build I've ever done and it's now the crown jewel of my collection. So yeah, for Ewok Village alone it was my best LEGO Christmas yet!

For Christmas my brother got me Mirkwood Elf Army. A nifty little set with lots of figs and I finally now have a Warg. It looks pretty good in my Hobbit/LotR display shelf.

When those blurry and small set pics first leaked, this was an easy pass for me. But after seeing actual pics of it, I dare say I actually sort of want it now. It's not at the top of my list, but it's certainly now on my 'get-if-I-get-everything-else-on-my-list-and-still-have-money' list. Thanks for the review, Cyberbricker!

What Castle set should I buy, 7041 or 7037?
pranas replied to lord raphael's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think it depends on what you're looking for. If you want something more practical looking and more castle-y, go with the tower. If you want something a little more goofy and playful, go with the wheel. If it was me, I'd go with the tower, but just so I could use it with my LotR stuff. -
Trading My EB Advent Calendar Raffle 2013
pranas replied to Blakstone's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I won prize B (cool figs, just not from any themes I collect) and am willing to trade with anyone in the United States (to save us both on shipping costs) for all groups except prize F (already have all the turtles). PM me if interested! -
I highly doubt they'll make the doors taller just for Marge, since they aren't taller for her in the show. When you see Marge go through a door in the show, her hair gets pushed back as she walks through. As for a car (if we are in fact getting one with the house or if we will ever get a full complete line down the road) that one's tricky. In the show Marge's hair gets pushed back behind her when she's in the car, but that would require a whole new LEGO mold which I don't think LEGO would (or should) spend the money on. So either they'll have an easily retractable rooftop or sunroof so her hair can stick out, or Marge just won't be allowed to ride around with her family. That's if we are even getting a car that is.

Was a third wave actually confirmed by LEGO? I guess I must have missed that info. Oops.

Aw, don't be sad! Remember, this is only for the first half of 2014, we don't know yet what's coming in the summer and fall. And I think all us OT fans are going to be happy come summer, since odds are most or all of those sets will be based off the new Rebels cartoon and the creators of that have said many times they are basing the designs of that off the OT (and it helps that it takes place just a few years before A New Hope). Also JJ Abrams has said he wants the sequel trilogy (should we start calling it ST?) to be closer to the OT. So I think starting very soon, we are going to see a lot of OT or at least OT inspired stuff hitting the market. I think it's going to be a good time to be an OT fan again.
