Welcome to another exciting episode of EB News Presents! Tonight we see the return of everyone's favourite reporter *cough*, Stauder, after his brief but all-too-welcome stay in the hospital! Joining us in the studio is our special guest, Brick Miner, Graphist Admin and Saloon Gambler, extraordinaire. Oh, and thanks to everyone who sent in cards and letters wishing me a speedy recovery! Couldn't you have just written both of them back and called your mom off the air instead of wasting our time with that? :-| Aaaaaaahhhh, you.... Now, back to business! I think our guest has a lot to share with us, so let's get started! Q. Why the name and the gambler sigfig? A. That

Great review, as we've come to expect from *yoda* *y* Nice to see that TLG is finding new and interesting ways to get around the "no minifig only" sets restrictions with Hasbro. Clearly, this is another army builder with a minimal vehicle as we're becoming accustomed to. Heck, even the diminutive Hailfire is technically a droid as well, thus making this all minifigs, from a certain point of view. Only negative: It is a bit overpriced. I'll have a better feel for that when I get one. Treads/links always drive up a price, so it might just be fair. The spiderdroid is a winner, even with the unusual parts assortment. I like it when LEGO thinks of different ways to use things, I think it promotes the same from us. I'm not sure what I think of the new battledroid commanders, but at least I can make extras easily if I need to, as I bought a bunch of yellow droid bodies off Bricklink once, thinking I might want to make some kind of new droid out of them. They were cheap at the time, now I expect the price to go up just because of this potential use. Between those and the grey ones, it's good to see more becoming available. Hopefully we'll see black and a few other colours produced for some nice customizing possibilities. All in all, a nice little set with a great army building potential, especially on a buy-one-get-one-half-off or better type of sale. Until then, I'll grab one or two and be glad to have them.

I would have never expected this ... It's just amazing. First Castle advent calendar, first real civilians (I count the jester also), undead skeleton warriors to make the holiday season bright (huh?). Hey, I'm not complaining, even if I have always thought it was odd to see some kinds of things mixed in as Christmas decor. Ok, so I own a light up Death Star tree ornament. Just shut up already. :-/ Brilliant find, beautiful set (what we can tell so far), all too much for mere words. I'll also agree with the sentiment that this won't stay sealed for more than 10 minutes after I touch it, even if that means opening it in the car. *wub*

*opens a window to air the place out* :-X Don't feel too bad, I think 375/6075 is terrible as well, I'm just smart enough not to post that in a Castle forum. 8-| Old? When I entered my dark ages, tan didn't exist. 8-

A potentially fascinating project that I hope you'll continuously update us with. That'll both be interesting to watch and help motivate you to make progress, something I frequently need help with. Wow, I absolutely hate that yellow house. :-/ I know it isn't polite, and I wouldn't say it if I didn't know you'll take it in the way it's intended and tell me to fark off, but man, that's just an eyesore of yellow. 8-

Welcome, new member Tiger! Hey ... wait a minute here ... >:-( Sneaky megablockin' namechanger :-P ;-)

I think I went with all the current leaders except I actually voted for K3P0 out of an intense desire to support LEGO making easy, but new figures out of existing ones in new colours. I really love the concept and hope to see it continue.

Always loved it and took it as a mix of Indy and Casablanca, so you're right, it'd make a great LEGO music video if someone was talented and patient enough to do it. Hmmm... Casablanca LEGO. I see some building in my future and a good project for the minifig customization forum too! *y*

Welcome! We knew you were lurking, watching, waiting, stalking us quietly in the shadows. We were just about to pounce on you, but you came out on your own. Good job! *y* Wait'll you get a load of the members ... ;-)

LEGO pretty much calls all red astromechs R5-D4, even with the wrong head. Then again, they all have the wrong head too. To be honest, if TLG wants to make the average AFOL happy, and satisfy the kids at the same time, all they have to do is include an astromech in every set possible, giving us some new colours. It's the easiest kind of modification they can make to a figure to make a completely new one. Just imagine the possibilities ... Oh, and I don't know the official designation of that 4th droid on the bottom, but that's what LEGO keeps calling R5-D4 and #2 on the top row is an example of just how easy a colour change is to make a new droid. Yellow R2. Bam, done. Astromechs On! *y*

Indy/Jellies. Not a tough choice on the surface, but I almost went with the giant troll just to keep my choices 2007 specific. I would agree, we need a more comprehensive poll on this, listing all of the new 2007's both as potential best and worst, to allow people to truly decide.

Do you keep your Lego Boxes?
Shadows replied to RememberTheLittleGuy's topic in General LEGO Discussion
So far, I keep them. One day, they will turn into a new lifeform and kill me, but for now they're nice to have. Actually, 90% of my recent purchases are still in their boxes because I don't have anywhere to display them. :-( I've kept all the boxes since coming out of my dark ages, but I threw away all of them before that. It almost brings a tear to my eye. :'-( As a last ditch effort to save them, when they do get out of hand, I'll flatten all of the smaller ones and stack those in the large ones. I'll fight losing these ... -
Love it, love it, love it! *wub* *wub* *wub* I don't care if it is only 2 clones, they'll make a battlepack before it's all over and I'll grab them by the ton. What they won't make is a Jedi battlepack with unique Jedi, so I'll take them every chance I get and this is a nice way to do it. I'm a bit surprised by a Ventriss figure, but that's fine. I figured we'd get her and a fleshie Dooku together, but then he'd be cartoonified and I'm not sure I care much about that, so this is good with me. Plus, and someone may have mentioned previously ... PRELIMINARY. We might get 4 clones, we might get 3 clones, we might never get this set at all... er, sorry, went too far there. 8-

Cool! I wish LEGO would take an active look at the Playmobil line and copy the heck out of it in some ways, but I don't see it happening. As great as they are though, If I ever made the dangerous first step of buying one, I'd end up in more trouble than I already am just keeping up with LEGO... *sigh* Thankfully you don't admin anything, but the mere thought of it sent a momentary shiver down the spine of this cold blooded show host ... :-X Attempting to add more playability to the line, TLG surprised everyone today when they announced that the new Clone Wars sets would include a combination of the old RGS and the Cantina, suitably named the Republic Gunsip. Or maybe only in Staudieworld. :-P

PSPGuy smells spells like Staudie. Not hard to figure who I voted for. I couldn't handle both the reporter and the guest spelling like that ... *wacko* Oh, and MicVash whacked the crap, amongst other things, out of him anyway. *y*
-
Awesome job! Anytime I get to trash talk and Staudie gets shot, I'm all for it! *wub* Ok, now the minor nitpicking, editor type that I am (blame EB News) ... I can't completely decide if 'Fubaland' is a typo or me mocking Hinckley, so I like it! :-P I might even just start calling it Fubaland, it's a lot more fun to say! *sing* FUBALAND FUBALAND FUBALAND, it's like living in a TUBALAND! Going diving in a SCUBALAND! When I fall I hope it's on a BOOBILAND! *sing* That was bad. :-$ X-D Keep up the great work and be sure to tune in to the big 3rd interview with Hinckley, coming sometime after I've lost my mind! ;-)
-
Now this is the kind of thread that needs to be brought back! *y* I will admit though, they do have a sort of squished in look as Hinckley said (dissected? well...), but that could be fixed through the careful stuffing of small bits of paper or something inside. Heck, isn't that how some women do it anyway? X-D
-
How did I miss this thread earlier? :-$ Here's to a big year of LEGO and an even bigger year of figuring out some way to come up with the money to pay for it... Well crap, I've gone and depressed myself already. 8-| Happy New Year anyway... :-| ;-)

Welcome to EB! You're English is fine and the more you read and post here, the better it'll get! I've been speaking it for 190 years and am still working at it... ;-)

Great little sets! *y* It's really nice to see LEGO returning to a tried and true sales method in offering some tiny sets to get fans hooked on a theme. I can tell you from experience that it works, fell for the same thing myself through the years with Adventurers, Arctic, and Rock Raiders. I probably would have ended up liking Adventurers anyway, but I doubt I would have touched the others if it hadn't been for $3 sets with a single minifig and some parts. Of course, once I had those, I realised that the bigger sets were pretty good. That's how it works, and I have no doubt it will do so in this case, even with the crappy flick missile launcher. Impulse On! *y*

Very nice customs iamded! I've got to admit, for plain paper printing, that's a great job! *y* TinyPiesRUs: I think that would be considered the same head, but with a different quality of printing. The left one clearly hit with more ink, thus filling in some of the white in the eyes and making the details more obvious. It's like the so-called old and new style Stormtrooper helmets. Some refer to them as actually being different, but in reality it's just how well they were lined up when the printing was added. I, for one, never bought a set with a misaligned 'moustache' looking trooper, even from the very first TIE fighter that included one. Go figure...
